Mine was the other way round ![]() I told my ex that she would regret leaving me, when she decided to break up peacefully, based on some factors, back then in 2008. She did anyway but we still keep in contact. In 2011, she got married to one rich guy like that and she even invited me to her wedding ![]() We're still friends till date. She revisit that topic sometimes last year and I was speechless . Anyway she knew that I said it out of love and nothing more.I invested so much in her, sponsored her to acquire some skills (Tailoring, Catering, interior deco). she's still using one of those skills as a side hustle till date. In retrospect, any regret from both side? NO. |
olakunle5296:Hmmmm, good to know that you are doing great for yourself. Prof. made me fell in love with neuroanatomy back then in ikenne. It was Adefule that asked me if I would be the first person to wear tie in my entire family, during one of his classes back then, just because I didn't tighten it around my neck. "Pls adjust your tie" would have left me unhurt that sunny afternoon. |
Dear colleagues, the world needs you. UAE needs you. Residents with a degree in any medical field, who are currently working in other industries, while processing their practicing license are also encouraged to volunteer.

To all our people who where being asked to proceed on leave without pay, those lossing their jobs and those who are counting days with no job in sight, I pray that God will ease your ways and make you happy. Let's concentrate more on staying healthy this period. We should not be more concerned about the financial consequences of this pandemic at the detriment of our own health and that of our neighbor. I know that we're aware of things we can do to stay healthy but it can't be over emphasized at this time. I'm an occupational health physician and I've been conducting campaigns since the onset of this outbreak. Sometimes, I still have to caution myself not to do some of those things that I preach to people, like touching the face, avoiding coming in close contact with people and all that. People living in groups or staying in bed space should encourage their room mates to also take similar precautions, they should avoid sleeping too close together, provide personal hygiene materials in the room. We should all take universal precautions as well. Let's boost our immune system by taking fruits, eating balanced diet( vegetables, eggs) and adequate water intake. We should not harbor any suspected case pls, irrespective of the Visa status of the individual involved. We should particularly pay attention to Fever, mild/moderate/ severe difficulty in breathing, dry cough, sore throat and muscle ache. Let's stay safe guys. Pix; let's wash our hands

Visman:Chief,See, that money with your host, collect it asap, he will only spend it and thats if he hasn't spent it already. collect it or any amount remaining with him. If he's not ready to give it back to you, 'change am for am'. As per asking people to help you regarding job and all that, only God can help you brother. You've started well, keep visiting the companies while you also submit online, you might just be lucky. During my days on the street of Dubai (January 2018 to June 2018), I used to say to myself that even if I ended up going back home unemployed, my conscience would be my witness that I did my best. Getting jobs these days is now more difficult even before this covid-19 outbreak. Pls collect your 100k asap and make plans to relocate to Dubai/Sharjah/Abu Dhabi. |
odalonu12:Education; Schools are temporarily closed, higher institutions are considering to fully upgrade to e-learning. Tourism, hospitality, sales; Reduced influx of tourist. These are the industries with highest employment opportunities. This is just my own opinion and was not intended to raise a false alarm nor instill fear into the hearts of those who had already concluded their plans. |
To those who are planning to visit uae for the purpose of job hunting, but are yet to process their visit visa, it may just be reasonable that you wait till after this COVID-19 epidemic. ![]() |
Abeebayo0106:Be careful, you can't pay agents to secure this kind of job. Besides, I think your job has limited opportunities here, based on my observation. Specialist orthopedics, orthopedic nurses, some general nurse, practical nurses and Gp orthopedics are doing that in most of the centers. |
Somebody out there might need this. Response plus Medica is hiring nurses. It's part of VPS group, one of the leading healthcare groups in the middle east (Burjeel hospital, Lifeline hospital, lifecare hospital etc). I don't know what they are offering their new employees but the few nurses and doctors that I know run 32 days duty/ 28 days off for offshore duties and 64 days duty/ 30 days off for Onshore duties. They pay full Salary plus traveling allowance during the off duty period. It's a very good opportunity for Male nurses who have passed the HAAD exam In general, for nurses, this is a good time to move down here as there are many openings in most of the hospitals/clinics right now. Higher salaries are being offered compare to last year and Recruitments are also being made directly from home countries. |
Fury was very furious. |
Yohh:Yea, depends on the car you insure. |
Hmmmm. Paying 250k per anum to insurance company ln just 1 car no beans sha. |
Tomide007:I cried while reading those comments made by his lovely widow. Nobody deserves to die in such a inhumane manner, haven committed no crime nor killed anyone. May his gentle soul continue to rest in peace. |
Arisukuni:Bro, I would not encourage you to subscribe to direct employment Visa for a security job. It's mostly scam, even for people who are already inside the country . It's better you come into the country on 3 months and see things for yourself. Of every 10 job scam you hear about, 5 of it will be security. |
Arisukuni:What I know is that there are variations because the company that eventually employs you will determine the answers to most of your questions. Some provide accommodation while some would not. Some provide free food and laundry services, especially those that work outside the city or in accommodations where employees are not allowed to cook their own food. Duty of most security personnel is mostly 12hrs per shift and one day off per week. while some work 8 hours, some don't even have day off. Some offer employment and later ask you to go for sira while some will set sira as a prerequisite to qualify for the job. Salary varies. Security men can be posted to anywhere you can think of. You'll be given medical insurance, its compulsory for all employees. One practice that is now common among security jos is that the employee pays huge amount of money for the Visa and every other expenses the company is gonna incur on the sponsorship. Some pay up to 3000 or more. |
odalonu12:At least NEBOSH igc. The HSE 1,2,3 is not so recognized. |
u3fine:Old Scam... you'll be told to contact a travel agency who will then ask you to pay certain amount of money that will be refunded back to you when you reach UAE. |
olamzyy:Better prayer. |
drmikeadams: Na so we de rough am oo bros. The thing even de worse sometimes . Ajman was hot late last year, police de burst every corner There are 2 sides to a coin. Na the same locals will play with my kids and dash them chocolate when we meet them at malls. Same police that took me back to my hotel room in internet city after I left African beatz in deira at 1am and I approached them that I was a bit tipsy? The locals protect their women and that should be nobody's business. I will protect my own daughter too. No be everybody de sleep for bed space here, I've never lived in one, not even as a tourist. was in UK last December and I can say that deira still de learn for where some jungles in London de. |
glowingflame7:Yes bro, that WPS is really protecting employees, except those on own Visa. |
odalonu12:Thank you for educating me on autocad. However, I don't know anything about that industry and can't offer any advice on professional courses you can do and all that. I work with HSE folks and they are relatively getting good pay. I don't know how competitive it is to get jobs in that field now. People in town can advice you on that. Of course you fit waka enter any company except the ones in the free zone areas. Nobody will harass you here bro. Few of them would even offer you a seat and water while you wait for the HR to come out to give you lamba . It's an option but its costly as you need to print the CV, transport yourself and you wont cover much before you get exhausted. |
odalonu12:Chief, theres no guru here in UAE, we're all expatriates. And pls be guided, you can't get all the info that you need anywhere until you come down and pay your dues too. People literally withhold information for monetary gains, especially the street guys and job agents. Some don't even know what's going on inside the country. I read all those negative reviews up there, I've probably seen worse myself. People still get stranded in al nahda park sharjah, baniyas square dubai and ajman bus station every day. People walk aimlessly around these parks too. In all these and many other cases, it is a Nigerian like ourselves or worse still, that person they called their friend/brother that puts them in such difficult situation. Who are the job agents? Most of the security job scams thrive because Nigerian guys collude with the fake arbabs to scam their fellow country men. How does that concern UAE govt? At a time, I needed to be calling the HR department of the hospitals/clinics directly for any possible recruitment. This was in addition to sending emails. Most of them use the land lines and it's free when you call them from another land line. In my flat, the guy in charge of our wifi land line specifically told me that he can only grant me that access for 100 dirhams per month. This favour cost him nothing but he chose to charge me for it, of course I had no choice as i knew what i wanted. Of many other benefits in the west, illegal immigrants thrive well with some later getting PR and passport through marriage and other means, here in UAE, e no de possible and it's one of the things that don't favour unskilled migrants here, not only Nigerians. |
odalonu12:For effective job hunting, you'll need a laptop, be ready to resume with HRs at 8am and you will keep refreshing the pages of the popular job sites till 4pm. You'll need to apply for new openings on the popular job sites: indeed.ae, uae.dubizzle.com, laimon.com, naukrigulf, 1dubaijob. etc. indeed.ae will sometimes direct you to some less popular job sites and also to the career page of some companies. Be patient and ensure that you apply diligently. Target the multinationals, chains and group of companies more. You only need to visit places where they are conducting openday/walk in interviews. You can barely submit 20 CVs physically per day and most of them will end up in the bins but you can submit as much as 100 or more everyday online. Honestly I don't know anything about autocad but pls chose your hustle wisely. Find out about skills that can get you job faster. I don't think you'll have such luxury of time to be doing more courses unless you've planned it very well before coming. I did something similar, I wrote HAAD licensing exam(my own plan B) when I didn't get any viable job in Dubai, which I was holding its license as a tourist. Bed space can be in the range of 400-1000 depending on location, neatness, available facilities and population. Be positive about your goals and pls don't put all your eggs in one basket, be sure to leave something reasonable back home in naija, in case things don't go well as planned. As for people who have acused those encouraging fellow hustlers to come and try their luck in UAE of being Visa agents, some of us were encouraged by what we read on this thread before coming and we are good for it today. |
One thing is, everyone agrees that UAE is no longer what it used to be in the past but I think what some people here are portaying UAE to be(as a No go area) might probably be because they fell into wrong hands when they came in or not following the proper way to do things. Someone who's still on the street hunting for job once told me that the online platform never worked for her so she believed in 'connection' in uae when I told her to try and apply to at least 100 openings/companies per day, she literally said that it's not possible. Well, some of us did that.I'll advice whoever wishes to come here to have holistic preparation as ppl have been advising here: Have a specific Hustle plus backups(A-Z), Financial back up, Patience, and other things. And Pls don't undermine the power of prayers and spiritual fortification ![]() |
Mrhighsense:You're welcome. I Would like to have a copy of the book when its ready. |
Nice write up. Have you authored any book that elaborates more on what you summarized here? Might not be available to attend your 2-day class. |
babaoloola:Nice advice. Al ain is a very nice place to live. Rent for a Family apartment can be as cheap as 1200. Bro, do you live in al ain? |
Millard repair |
SFSNIPER:Call them directly. They'll inform you if they have provisions for that. Some facilities help their patients on logistics including Visa. May the Lord lay His powerful healing hands on her. |
SFSNIPER:Unless you already had an arrangement with novomed hospital, You would have to apply for the the Visa through an agent. You can also apply through some banks. You can hold hands bro. |

. Anyway she knew that I said it out of love and nothing more.
