CrimeRe: I Too Was Raped And Disvirgined At Age 17 by drkay(m): 11:23am On Jun 29, 2019
lostandfound:
I created this new profile to tell my story because it's heart breaking to read ignorant people make light of rape and some going as far as blaming the victims for what they experienced. The men who downplay rape are perhaps into the same act and the women who join them are very ignorant. There are real lives shattered,we are real people....

This is my story
Thanks for reading
For those who will say I made this up,suit yourselves,i am not bothered by that.
This is quite emotional. Good to know that you’ve moved on. May the Lord continue to be with you and your family. Rape is very common and highly under reported in Nigeria, especially in those who are of low socioeconomic status.
Please can I ask you This question? What would you have done differently if you were in Busola’s shoe? I mean, would you have called Charles out if he’s now a popular pastor or political figure in Nigeria? or you’ll have taken the same subtle approach which you took to confront him?
I asked this question because cases of alleged rape that happened many years ago, which was neither reported to the police nor had any medico-legal documentation anywhere is a single story and will remain a single story since the assailant will surely deny it as expected. The only way to get back at him will be through what you did to Charles and what is happening to the pastor now.
It’s very understandable that Mrs Dakolo doesn’t need any public sympathy as she’s happily married and doing very great so, there must be a good reason behind her action, making the allegation more likely to be true and it’s very unfortunate. It’s very disheartening that she has been living with this trauma all these while.
However, what took her so long before speaking up? The pastor has always been around. has she ever attempted to confront him in the past? Are her parents aware? This is because men can also be a victim of rape too, through defamation.

Imolites deserve better. His people may be happy about this but chasing Okorocha and his cronies will definitely not put food on Peoples table. His counterparts, like Gov. Sanwo-Olu, kicked the ground running and this is what will eventually be of benefit to the people.

Premium times goofed big time on this case. OGD really messed up the state before SIA took over. The killings in sagamu, the bank robberies across the state, especially in sagamu and ijebu axis were just too unbearable. The incumbent governor is aware of the truth and he’ll rather commend the last administration.

Most of those schools prefer ladies and I think teachers earn more than that salary range. There are Nigerians working as teachers, assistant teachers and library attendants. The ones I’ve met are ladies, teaching English.

I once saw this guy at Gucci outlet in Dubai mall. He entered and was received immediately as a known customer. He requested for the items they were asking him to check out for and he picked a palm sander that cost 13k dirrham(approx 1.3m naira) and a T shirt that I didn’t bother to find how much it cost. The sales lady was trying hard to tell me he’s a celebrity from my country bla bla bla. I lock up.
The truth is that hushpuppy is balling sha.

tactius:
Ok...I know I'm going to be called names for this, but here goes.

Several years ago, we privatised power...and since then power has been in private hands.

And one of the biggest problems has been financing. Yes, financing of power.

A lot of Nigerians don't pay for power. Add the fact that the bills we are paying are set below the actual cost of power. This has driven away investors, and we fail to attract new ones.

As a result, DISCOS and GENCOS don't have enough money. Last year, one of the DISCOS gave up and handed back over to the government because it was not making enough money to do business properly.

And the fact is, millions of Nigerians feel ENTITLED to free power. You know, if you guys were running businesses, and people came in and took your products for free...you would be wiped out financially.

If we want power to work...government has to allow the DISCOS charge for power. YES...power will cost a lot. YES...we would be paying N30000 and above per month. And the DISCOS should meter everyone(which is what is happening with MAP by the way).

But the thing is POWER IS PRIVATE....and POWER is now a business.(and ironically Chidioka's government was the one responsible for privatising power). And the reason why we are only seeing 5-6 hours of light per day...is because THAT IS WHAT OUR BILLS CAN PAY FOR.

Let's be realistic.
You’ve said the truth. I pay equivalent of about 50 to 80k in naira for DEWA( Dubai electricity and water) on monthly basis in my studio apartment here in Dubai. The question is: Are we ready to pay more for power in Nigeria if it’s made available to us 24/7? I doubt Nigerians are ready to tolerate any increment

What they sent me was an offer of appointment letter no thumbprint whatsoever....
Just my consent to accept or decline the offer by appending my signature and rescan to the firm n it's travel agency.

I thoroughly welcome your advise.
I will process the package wish my self a happy ending endeavour insha Allah Amin.. I remembered vividly how it all started . I registered on some GCC Jobsite that was where they found my CV n contact me.
Brother, it’s very unfortunate that those miscreants contacting you are trying to scam you pls stay away from them. Almost everyone working in uae has his/her profile on several gcc job sites so that’s not a big deal. This is a popular scam here, I’ve received similar fake offers in the past. I tried to confirm directly from the hr but he wasn’t available, you can also contact him through the attached details before you allow those guys to hustle you.

Thanks drkay" My employment term it's 3years n renewable. I do not have any contact in UAE. Employment visa is what the agency will process for me.
Your employment term? Did they send you any contract to sign and thumb print or you’re referring to the letter sent to you? Your company should process the visa and not the agency
Even if it’s genuine, the entry permit that will be sent to you is valid for 2months from your day of entry into uae. You’re expected to go for medicals and it’s after this that you’ll be issued the so called 2 years employment visa.
I think you can easily detect the genuineness of this by running a check on your own. Compare the mail, websites, phone number and the address on the documents sent to you with the ones you see on google search.
You can also share the phone number of the agency here.

Hi professionals and experienced UAE expatriates.

My story I just got an offer of employment to an oil n gas firm in Abu Dhabi but with a condition of using a designated travel agency MENA tourism agency LLC UAE, are they real? plus my employment letter covers for me n family, benefits stated on my offer letter too. But I am a bit skeptical on the condition of paying for the travel package but surely the organisation will reimburse me total expenses for the migration.

Please advise are they real?
No one can tell whether they are real or not because you didn’t share sufficient information about them. You can give their number to someone in uae to call the travel agency. They won’t likely pick it if it’s scam and if they do, the person can politely make enquiry from them on your behalf.
This kind of arrangement where you must use a designated agency is mostly scam. It’s either the company process your entry permit for the 2 months employment visa or they ask you to find your way here to complete your interview or any procedure before they proceed with your visa. In that case, they won’t send you the offer letter.
It looks suspicious but anything is possible.

If u are not sure if he will release it, it is better u let him take the building above German, tell him to give u quotation to forming stage, which is above German floor or to window level, after which u can fire him. Because any engineer can continue from there. I will suggest u do this
He’s a relative. I’m just thinking of possible issues that can occur when I withdraw his service from the site. I mayn’t have the luxury of time for drama once I’m on ground to complete it.
Thanks for the advice, that’s what I’ll do.

6 inches block @ 140 = 70,000
10 tons of sharp sand = 28,000
Water = 5,000
20 bags Cement @2,650 = 53,000
Labour = 50,000
Well done sir. Is the 50k what you’re paying them to set the 1000 blocks or the amount you spent on site today?
By getting an Engineer and doing direct labor, does it mean that you hired everyone working on that site and paying them individually based on your negotiation, including the engineer? How do pay your engineer/builder? Per number of days on site or phase of the project?
Please keep us posted as you proceed. God will continue to enrich you.

Before u change him, ensure he didn't make changes to the floor plan, if he did, tell him to effect it on the plan, so another engineer can continue from the German floor
Thank you for this advice. I’m about to take similar decision. I remember he said that he has modified the plan on the first floor but He didn’t send it to me. I don’t know if he’ll release his own updated copy of the plan when I tell him my decision to get a new hand. It’s a 4brm duplex at decking stage and I plan to finish it up when next I visit Nigeria.

Do a full hepatitis B test which include

1.Liver function test ( to know if it had affected your liver
2. Ultrasound for liver
3. HVB DNA Quantitative
4. Complete blood count

This will let u know your viral loads and whether you need further treatments or not.

PS; I'm a carrier and have been in the UAE for 4yrs with no issue
I think You’re right, being a carrier of hepatitis b won’t stop some expatriates from getting residency in uae. It’s also good to know that you’re doing great. The truth is that you’ll continue to stay healthy as long as you keep the viral load low and you don’t indulge in lifestyle that insult your liver. However, in contrast to the picture that you’re trying to paint, carriers of hepB virus are still infective irrespective of the viral load. The infectivity may be low but not zero. other tests; Hep B e antigen, hep B e antibody, hep B c antibody and hep B s antibody are often done, in addition to the above mentioned. The level of the envelope antibody and antigen will indicate how infectious you are. It’s on this basis that we often advise sexual partners that are not carriers to get vaccinated and avoid sharing sharps. Same reason why newborn babies delivered by Hep B+ mothers get both passive and active immunization same day of delivery.

Looking back to what I went through and what I’m doing with my license and skills now, I’ll say It’s worth the stress. It’s still one of the professions where children of nobody can still stand shoulder to shoulder with those of the elites.
You have points in ur write up though, I’ll still want to encourage whoever is interested in studying medicine to do so.
Forget the stress. Forget the miserable salaries being paid to us in Nigeria.
For the records, this happens mostly to doctors during a particular phase in their practice ( residency or juniors medical officer).
If you have any doctor struggling with life around you, advice him/her to tissue. It mayn’t be easy at first but it’s gonna worth the stress eventually. It’s a world of unlimited opportunities out there for us, you only need to explore.

It depends on so many factors, you can both visit the nearest or your preferred hospital to make enquiry.
If you have different sponsors, some hospitals can help combine your health insurance package with his( If you both have health insurance, which you should), this will reduce the cost more than using only yours.
If you’re under his sponsorship as wife, it depends on his policy package.
It’s going to be costly if you don’t have medical insurance and this may even implicate your sponsor, as you know that it’s compulsory for every resident in uae to have a medical insurance.

Good evening all. Please I got something bothering me. Save a soul. I contCted staph infection before going to uae. I treated it. I thought it has gone now I'm having the symptoms again this time its worse. I already got a job. The company has already finished my visa and im expected to go for medicals soon. My question now is, will one be deported if he is discovered to have staphyloccocus? Or will i be treated. Please i need an answer. No insults please
What were your symptoms?
What symptoms are you having now?
Who made that diagnosis?
What test(s) were done to confirm that it was staph?
How were you treated when it was discovered that you had staph?
The truth is that there’s no such diagnosis as ‘staphylococcus’. Staph is a group of bacteria, some of them are found in some parts of our body such as on our skin, without causing any disease. However, it may be responsible for variety of diseases in human body and it’ll be suspected, when cultured and isolated from samples taken from a SICK patient.
Specific samples are taken, based on the complaints/illness. For instance, a urine sample when urinary tract infection is being suspected. Blood , sputum, various discharge can be swalbed and cultured, it depends on your complaints.
So, you really have to be specific about your complaints.
Staphylococcus is a bacterial, it doesn’t cause chronic disease. It won’t be tested for in your medicals so, it’s very unnecessary to be bothered by this.
You should be more concerned about knowing what is really going on in your body, if any.

Thanks ifyalways.

I have also seen many European or North American with great CPA/CA/ACCA, CFA, and top MBA moved to Dubai.

You shouldn't be astonished.

BR
You can make plans to relocate here to work but you just need to have a plan B and possibly C, in case things don’t go your main plan’s way.
Sure, working here is going to be more financially rewarding than what you’re presently earning but it’s still boils down to you getting a job first, which is not an easy task.
UAE job market is an employers market. The employers mostly look beyond those certificates you’re holding before even inviting you for interviews, where you can prove your mettle to the hiring team. The passport you’re holding is one of them, and you know the value of our Nigeria passport.
Even when you eventually get your dream job in uae, it will still be a wise decision for you to have plans to move to a better country later, where you and your family can call a home. Hence, people’s advice that you should move to any of those countries once and for all, rather than wasting resources to come here first.
Although, UAE isn’t that bad bro. I left a government job to come here, a decision some colleagues considered as too risky because of what they heard about here.
I need to admit that it wasn’t easy at first but when you win, you’ll be glad you make the move.
The challenges we face here differs, In terms of industry and weather you’re seeking/doing a skilled/unskilled job.
As for me, I’m being paid 8k lower than my predecessor who is Arabic. Official vehicle was also removed from the package, The scheduled 3k pay rise after 6months probation became 1k with just little explanation. I still stick to my job anyway, because I love what I do and besides, it’s not so demanding as I mostly work for about 3hrs per day.
