RomanceRe: Nairalanders, Help Me Out, She Hasn't Said Yes by DrogoG(m): 6:21am On Jan 18, 2017
KONJIKILLER:
Good day, Nairalanders, I don't know what the females here have to say about this but I'll gladly welcome any criticism.

So there's this girl, Sharon(not her real name), I met her November last year. Ok, she's smoking hot, very attractive and absolutely smart. We got so close and told each other a lot of things, darkest secrets, and stuff she wouldn't even tell her mom. She concluded that we become best friends but deep down, I wanted more than that because I was already falling, I just didn't know what to say. Every time we talked on the phone, it was usually for more than 30minutes that my friends would be wondering if we were dating, even my close pals made fun of me that I was being friendzoned. One night in December, I called her and from the way I was talking to her, a normal girl would catch the cruise that a nigga was flirting although it wasn't obvious. After the call, I texted her that I had something to tell her but then, I just told her I'd say it later. She laughed and told me she knows what's up with me but that she's been waiting for me to spit it out. I asked how she knew, she said by behavior towards her and everything was obvious that I had these feelings for her. She added that I should be patient and not rush it, I was totally relieved, even my buddies said 'she go gree, no worry, the babe like you die'.

Guys, from that day, I've been treating this girl like a queen, buying her stuff, calling her and doing the regular things a boyfriend would do, hoping she'd eventually agree to date me. Her mom even saw the stuff I bought her, she asked her if we were dating and she told her we were talking about it. All these events happened late last year and she still hasn't made a brother happy. The last time we talked about it was on the 30th of December and she specifically told me she had feeling for me but that "she wants to get her emotions right". Sister what does that mean now?

We stepped into the new year, the first week passed, so did the second week, she hasn't said a word about "US". Her birthday is coming up in two weeks and I plan on confronting her day before her birthday to know exactly what she wants with me.

Am I moving too fast? Am I impatient? Some of my friends are saying she might be too shy to say the three letter word, that I should try and make a move by kissing her or something. NAIRALANDERS, what am I missing
She might see you as a huge maga.
What is it with you kids who use gifts to get chics? You think that's the best way to get a good chic? If she really likes you, she won't need gifts to be your girlfriend!
Trust me, if a girl wants to you, she'll make it clear to you and you'll know!

What to do now?
- Reduce the attention you normally give her.
- Don't buy her any more gift for now.
- Whenever you chat with her don't bring up anything about relationship, if she does, change the topic.
- Don't show you're upset with her at all.
- In fact put her in friend-zone.

She will definitely notice you've changed. If she opens up about your changed attitude, let her know you don't wish to waste your time with a girl who doesn't like you enough to date you. Her response will indicate her real position.

Be confident.

I gambled my votes to put Buhari on seat, wat am I seeing now?
Understand what you mean but they're entirely two different things.

MMM is one of the oldest scams on earth. Few clicks on google search would give anyone, who has any viable brain cell, all the info they need about MMM scam. So gambling on a well known scam is st*upid.

On the other hand, nobody knew Buhari would be a complete disaster as a President.

PoliticsRe: Nzeogwu, Orkar Are Martyrs, Says Fani-kayode by DrogoG(m): 1:12pm On Jan 16, 2017
Emycord:
Why is nzeogwu coup called igbo coup and the other coup called counter coup why not northern coup, arewa coup, northern coup, gowon coup, hausa coup, or fulani coup. And yes you guessed write why is the 1983 coup not called buhari coup or fulani coup. But just wait until oil is found in commercial quantity in nzeogwu's village then you will hear that nzeogwu is not an igbo man and that igbo's are land grabbers
Northern tribalists like Abacha, Useni, Murtala, Buhari, Obasanjo etc called it Igbo Coup because they wanted to point out to their people who did the coup in order to trigger retaliations, which exactly happened. Scores of Igbos both in the military and Igbo civilians in the north were slaughtered! More than fifty thousand innocent Igbo civilians were killed!

The tribalists intentionally omitted to say the coup a;so involved Yorubas, Northerners and other ethnic groups.

The first 1966 Nigerian coup d'état. The Known conspirators;
Maj. Kaduna Nzeogwu (Igbo)
Maj. Adewale Ademoyega (Yoruba), author of "Why we struck"
Maj. Emmanuel Ifeajuna (Igbo)
Maj. Timothy Onwuatuegwu (Igbo)
Capt. Emmanuel Nwobosi (Igbo)
Maj. Chris Anuforo (Igbo)
Maj. Humphrey Chukwuka (Igbo)
Maj. Don Okafor (Igbo)
Capt. Ogbo Oji (Igbo)
Capt. G. Adeleke (Yoruba)
Lt. Fola Oyewole (Yoruba), author of "The reluctant rebel"
Lt. R. Egbiko (Esean)
Lt. Tijani Katsina(Hausa/Fulani)
Lt. O. Olafemiyan (Yoruba)
Capt. Gibson Jalo (Bali)
Capt. Swanton (Middle Belt)
Lt. Hope Harris Eghagha (Urhobo)
Lt. Dag Warribor (Ijaw)
2nd Lt. Saleh Dambo (Hausa)
2nd Lt. John Atom Kpera (Tiv)
Capt. Ben Gbulie (Igbo)

If the coup was really Igbo Coup, they won't have Yorubas and Northerners among them. And they didn't kill every Northerner they saw during the coup. The also killed Yoruba and Igbo officers and few from other ethnic groups too. They mainly targeted powerful subjects who they thought would foil their plan.
Remember, the coup plotters also targeted the highest ranking military officer who was an Igbo General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi who was the head of the military (later became the first military president after the coup) and was the one who foiled the coup! So how could the coup be an Igbo coup?

The 1966 Nigerian counter-coup (second cuop)

The principal coup plotters are listed below:
2nd Lieutenant Sani Abacha (Northerner)
Lieutenant D.S. Abubakar (Northerner)
Major Martin Adamu (Northerner)
Lt Colonel Joseph Akahan (Mid-belt)
Major Shittu Alao (Northerner)
Lieutenant Ibrahim Babangida (Northerner)
Lieutenant Ibrahim Bako (Northerner)
Lieutenant Muhammadu Buhari (Northerner)
Captain Isa Bukar (Northerner)
Lieutenant Yakubu Dambo (Northerner)
Lieutenant Garba A. Dada (Northerner)
Major Theophilus Danjuma (Northerner)
Sergeant Paul Dickson (Idoma)
Lieutenant Buka Suka Dimka (Northerner)
Lieutenant Garba Duba (Northerner)
Captain Joseph Garba (Northerner)
Lieutenant Mohammed Balarabe Haladu (Northerner)
Major Abba Kyari (Northerner)
Sergeant Sabo Kwale (Northerner)
Lieutenant Colonel Murtala Muhammed (Northerner)
Second Lieutenant Muhammadu Gado Nasko (Northerner)
Lieutenant Malami Mahe Nassarawa (Northerner)
Lieutenant James Onoja (Northerner)
Corporal John Shagaya (Northerner)
Lieutenant Abdulahhi Shelleng (Northerner)
Captain Ibrahim Taiwo (Northerner)
Lieutenant Paul Chabri Tarfa (Northerner)
Captain Baba Usman (Northerner)
Major Musa Usman (Northerner)
Lieutenant William Walbe (Northerner)
Lieutenant Mamman Vatsa (Northerner)
Captain Abdul D.S. Wya (Northerner)

If you compare both coups, you will see that this second coup was pure Fulani/Hausa Coup targeting Igbos which led to massive anti-Igbo pogrom.

He was given yellow card because he removed his t-shirt, it's not about the proposal!
Removing your t-shirt during a football march is not allowed, it is against football rules, except in the case of injury when a doctor needs to temporally remove the t-shirt to treat you.
You can't Bleep with your game because you want to propose. He should have done it as soon as the game ended or during halftime break.

Christianity EtcRe: Apostle Suleman Gives His Church Member N500k & Brand New Nissan Jeep(pics) by DrogoG(m):
Good marketing ploy. Many people will rush to this church because of this. Church owners are increasingly in serious competition because new churches are created almost everyday like mushrooms. Church business is booming in Nigeria.

Giving out ₦500k and a car in order to get more millions of naira from his dumb congregation is not a bad business idea after all. And the recipient may be planted, meaning the whole thing may be staged. If pastors could stage fake miracles, then pretending to give out money and a car will be too easy.

I might start my own church too, there's too much money to make!

The ones now likely to know Yoruba are the ones who grew up in the hood.
That has been my experience growing up in Lagos.

In my secondary school back then, MANY couldn't speak, because of the level of the school maybe, but for the razz public schools, they speak it well
You're right but most Yoruba kids can speak their language both home and abroad compared to Igbos (I'm Igbo by the way). Yorubas are always keen to keep their culture alive and I envy that.
Nigerian cultures and languages are rich but our society doesn't encourage their preservation!
CultureRe: How I Was Banned From Speaking Igbo - Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani by DrogoG(m): 8:24pm On Jan 15, 2017
Oh my Oh my! I've seen these pics before. These were taken in the early 80s! I know this family personally. They're from my village in Umuahia. Adaobi was a little kid the first and last time I saw her. Her father shielded them from the public.

This family isolated itself and didn't mingle much with outsiders, except the man himself who visited us few times. My father was among the very few people he allowed in his home. This family's way of life was the opposite of mine. Our home was always open to everyone. Our gate was usually left unlocked in the day but locked at night. My father was a very generous man who helped a lot of his people to succeed.

I remember that Volvo. He used that car for many decades and it was the most well maintained car I knew. I don't know if the car still exists today. It would a world record if it does.

The man (a.k.a. Ete, youths called him De Ete) was once a friend to my father. They both partnered to bring electricity to our village. But their relationship ended when my father stopped this man from changing our village's name, and majority of the villagers backed my father.

His reason was that the name contains the name of an ancient god the villagers used to worship, and that it hinders the sons and daughters of the village from progress. The man is the type that believed in diabolic nonsense. But my father (a staunch christian) asked him, "if what you said was true, how come both of us are successful? How come we have many successful people both at home and abroad? My Dad then said, "leave the name alone if you don't have a better thing to do to help the youths. There are many ways we can help our people, name change is not one of them. The name has no negative effect whatsoever on anyone and your claim doesn't support the reality!".

The man did everything to intimidate my father to join him but failed, including vandalizing our property and suing my father to court which my father won. My brother and I stormed the village and enforced a curfew for 10 hours, beat the crap out of some of his followers (to set an example) and sent the man and his followers a stern warning against any threat to our father or any of our family members and vandalize any our properties. The news of this spread far and wide. A respected elderly man begged us to end the siege.

When we left the village, the man and his dumb followers calmed and stopped the harassment. The chaos happened in early 90s. Fast-forward today, the controversial name change dispute is history and totally forgotten. I don't even know if the man is still alive today. I don't go home often.

My beloved father and brother are Late. I miss them so much.

Most likely a fake story and a product of the twitter users imagination just to get attention
Some Nigerians and their ignorant mentality.
That you're skeptic of the story doesn't mean it's false. The story is plausible because it happens all the time.

I know a friend in Germany who was sending cars home in the 90s for his family to sell them and deposit the money in his bank account for him. He sent more than 25 exotic cars.

When the guy was deported from Germany, he thought his wealth was waiting for him at home. But to his greatest shock, he realized that his family sold those cars (including the one he planned to use) and squandered the money!

The guy denounced his family, left to another State as broke as hell and never returned home. In fact, it was my State, Abia, he came to and we met for the first time when he came to me begging for accommodation and job.

When I first set my eyes, on him, I knew immediately he didn't base in Nigeria because he wore expensive foreign stuff. And for the fact he applied to be a waiter in exchange for food and accommodation, I knew something wasn't right.

It was during the job inteview that he opened up to me and narrated his ordeal. I didn't employ him because I knew he won't stand my manager's bossy attitude but I gave him a room to stay free charge and took him out everyday to dine with me. And that was how our friendship developed.

After a year he left to Lagos to meet his friend for financial assistance and we lost contact (GSM didn't exist that time).

After living in the Netherlands for 7 years, I received a call from Nigeria and it was him! Yes, it was him! He told me he moved back to Germany after raising cash for his visa and ticket from his friend in Lagos. So he just visited home now to commence building his house so he decided to locate me first before doing anything else. He was told I was in Europe so he got my number from my manager.

I later found out that he actually wanted to sponsor my visa to Germany as a payback for all the help I rendered to him. That was amazing!

Fast forward to today. We visit each other regularly here in Europe. And we're all married up with kids and closer today than before. He still wants me to dump Netherlands for Germany.

Good luck with that!
Massively corrupt oil cabals and their corrupt colleagues in NASS won't let that happen.

They make billions per week shipping out crude and importing refined fuel and kerosene.

Whereas if we do all the refining in Nigeria, the thieves will be out of business. Fuel will cost 15naira or less per litre and kerosene will cost around 10 naira per litre.

Car TalkRe: Why Do Cars Have High Speedometers When You Legally Can't Use Them? by DrogoG(m):
Not illegal to use them, it only depends on the place. You can't do 100mph on a 60mph road.

Germany has a special highway (Bundesautobahn), that has no mandated speed limit and it's mostly straight road. You can break your car's speedometer on this motorway if you like. I did 250 (was scared to go higher) on that f*ucking road with a Mercedes C63 AMG. It felt like the car was flying, if felt good but dangerous.
