My advice stay away from Richard Jacob. This driver damaged my car .. I spend over 100k naira to fix , and few days ago he got into an accident and he was beaten up for been at fault . I ask him to pay is rental money and refuse.. If you give him any car, you are at fault and u have yourself to blame

Brandnew can mean different thing in Nigeria.. If it is brand new China tires, stay away from it plz . And avoid getting winters too. Winter tires are not meant for Nigeria road. It will lead to more accidents ...

It’s high time we all started seeing credit alert or NO to transfer for Bolt riders. Since most of us has lost cash in one way or d other driving on Bolt. A decent looking girl did fake transfer to me on Uber. I called her and she blocked my line. Immediately I reported to Uber, Uber credited me. If na Bolt that N3,200 for go. Henceforth I’ll not allow Bolt riders leave until I get alert.

Hello house, good evening. Currently having an engine replacement for my volkswagen jetta. The engine is a 2.0 litre engine. I noticed my kazeem removed the spring attached in this picture from this part of the tokunbo engine. And when we removed it from the old engine the spring was still there. Please I believe him removing that spring isn’t right and I need your help in knowing if he should just replace back with the one from the old engine since he has already removed the one that came with the tokunbo engine or if what he did is a safe thing to do. Looking forward to your advice. Thanks.

I had same experience with my elantra years ago.. The car was over heating, and when I look at the thermostat is was rusted just like yours.. So I bought another one and the problem was fix ..

For peace of mind just buy another thermostat.. Most mechanics don't have a clue on what they are doing. By him removing the spring from thermostat he is by passing what the spring is protecting.. Crazy mechanics not only kazzem alone. Combination of craziness of mechanics ..

1. Using 20w50 on a highlander 2011 ,is very bad bro.. Those engines are not cheap, and once mechanic starts to mess with the engine, the engine will never be the same bro...
Since you have been using 20w50 for three weeks , you might lucky that the engine is ok .. Switch back to recommended oil and monitor for oil shorten... if the car short oil ,than its too late ,and switch back to 20w50

2. Too late continue using 20w50, just sell it off before it starts smoking

I don't have the filter for MDX, but I can help source for it. For oil, kindly check oil cap of the motor, its either 5w30 or 5w20...

That's a 10w-30 but not suited for modern engines. Now if someone pours this in their engine, they are on their own. Brand to me doesn't really matter as long as they have the API rating and are certified. One might be better than the other but it doesn't mean the other still won't do the job. After all, it has met the minimum requirements.

When I started selling oil , I did some research and looked at some user reviews on oil engine brand ..some car owners complain that Mobil 1 was not good for their cars and they revert back to their normal oil , some Castrol oil user prefer using Castrol because their engine was more quieter than when using Mobil 1 oil than other oil...
Everyone has had either good or bad experience with name brand oil ... some brand of oil only need by law to just follow the basic rule Api to certify their oil , and other brands go way and above .. Some oil expert will tell you Pennzoil is the best oil and some will tell you Valvoline sucks ..etc

It depends on the weight of the oil and type of car .if you using 20w50 instead of 5w30 than no need to switch to recommended oil , more than likely the switch to 5w30 will cause oil to shorten.....

In most cases I encourage tokumbo car owners to use recommended oil .. It is more than likely tokunbo cars are less abused and have no engine sludge compare to Nigerian used... my point is I will take a tokunbo car over Nigerian used. As a matter of fact I don't buy Nigerian used cars....

.. Below is a tokunbo car bought from the auction.. We just replace the oil seal .. You can see how well lubricated the engine is ........

I saw you typed somewhere that you normally use STP filter for 12k miles with mobil 1 extended engine oil.

But I'm thinking that the genuine mobil 1 extended 15k miles oil filter should be more than 4k you said.

That particular Stp has been discontinue since middle of last year , I could not find to buy in bulk anymore .. The new stp is not sold in bulk and is very expensive...

Purolator is a good brand and it is good for 10k miles oil. Change , nobody should exceed more than 10k miles oil change, with Mobil 1 Ep .... Or any Extended performace oil.. Just to be on the safe side...

Well I can only do what works for and what is affordable. Most people can't afford 15k miles oil filter. These filters go for about 4k naira , it does not have to Mobil 1 Filters. Bouch ,Fram, have 15k miles oil filter and depending on your car type, the filter should not cost more than 6k naira max .....

Now ,since my cars are on Uber 4k naira filter is cost effective for me , it might not be for others, and keep in mind I change my oil and filter avery 9k to 10k miles , that is roughly every three months . So whenever you are ready to buy 15k miles filter, budget 4k naira per 1 ....

And also 15k miles oil filter are by request. I don't bring them in like that. But the Toyota brand filters I bring in few

Mobil 1 Ep is for 17k naira , high mileage..... Filter he can do 7k miles before oil change.. But I will advice the person to get 15k miles filter ,
unfortunately nobody is ready to spend big bucks for quality filters.. And this is why I don't bring in high end filters anymore, and if I do , it will be based on demand or request

And besides the 1500 naira filter ,is at a give away price. But at times I sell at that price to make room for new inventory..

Well since you want to know, the car was shorten oil. And I was told to use thicker oil . Which I didnt fully agree with and I wanted to get to the bottom of things. So we did the following things....

1. Change Pcv valves... the old one was not that ok ,but I decided to change

2. Change Air filter

3. Change spark plugs

4. Change transmission soleiod and add transmission fluid ( reason for this was because the car was jerking)

After doing all these things ,check engine light came up. We scan it and found out camshaft sensor was coming up. So mechanic decided to open up the engine bay . Doing the process we found engine oil was leaking..
We discover that the oil seal worn out. Causing the oil to shorten.. Engine oil seal was replaced ,but code P0340 camshaft sensor keeps coming up and the car still jerks.

Long story short, we exchange camshaft sensor from my other tokunbo civic, after the ones we bought for 7k naira from Ladipo failed woefully.. Like play like play check engine didnt didnt come on at all , And we didn't need to reset the engine ..

Since than the driver is very happy and no complains at all .. The a/c of the car na winter cold/ ice cold .. And the problem of oil shorten has been resolved ,but will continue to keep an eye on it.....

My conclusion.... To answer your question sir , I didnt just open up the engine to sell my oil .. Since the car has been using Mobil 1 Ep for 5k miles, and likely do another 4k naira .
Since the engine valve was already open, it gave me an opportunity to see how well the oil has been doing. And I was not disappointed at all .. It shows that have been doing something rite all along..
