There is one issue affecting drivers but nobody have talked about it.

Why is it that most partners find it hard to remit excess of Uber payment. That is... Drivers' card trip of previous week is more than the rental.

I noticed most partners find it difficult to transfer the remaining balance to their driver.

I think that's Greed na
Just look for a reputable fleet coy or partner .. We have lots of them here on the forum.. And me personally I can't come and spoil my name ..people know me here ,I have a brand to protect

If all things been equal and you not owning the partner a kobo ..you need to look for new reputable partner or fleet coy.. Bad partner or bad fleet coy needs to be put on blast.. We can't be collecting assurance deposit from drivers. And partners or fleet coy will not be behaving themselves...

Most times we see a driver that really wants to work and doesn't have a security deposit, u sit back and hold back because of previous driver defaulting
Well you can set up payment plans ...it is time we fleet owners. Fleet coy, partners try to revolutionnise the e hailing business.. This way you can set yourself apart from everyone else ...
And the funny thing is this ehailing thing does not have to be on a full time bases.. Am sure if a driver comes to you and he wants to work few days a week ,am sure you can try to accommodate that.. The drivers need to also think outside the box..yes the job might challenging, but try not having money to eat ,cloth, pay rent, school etc. As we partners ,fleet coy bind together with one voice ,the narrative will change for the better ..who thought that "assurance" or deposit will be major thing now.. Now the assurance deposit is picking up steam ..na small small ..

Good day drivers/partners
I have been on this thread for a very long time and I have been silently following the discussions. I am an auto dealer and an IT professional. I have a lot of guys driving on uber/taxify and I can say I have a considerable amount of knowledge about this business of e-hailing.

If you are an experienced driver on uber/taxify/ogataxi etc and you wish to own your own car, I think this is your opportunity.

We have been in talks with some contacts in some renowned financial institutions that are willing to invest in the transport industry. They are ready to give out cars to EXPERIENCED drivers on the uber/taxify/ogataxi platform, with proven outstanding record. These cars will be given on a hire purchase agreement with a single digit interest rate.

Talks are underway and nearing a very logical and optimistic conclusion.

So if you are a driver with a high star rating, send your details to my email

taiwoajayisurvey@gmail.com

Please I am just doing this to help some guys here who have been slaving for others with nothing to show for it. If you are pessimist who likes to see the bad in every opportunity, I beg you to take your bad aura somewhere else.
No one will ask you for any money, I’m just doing my bit to help guys here.

My manager stated that according to his friends that have elantras on their fleet, that their are not as strong as the corolla.. And we bought it for 14k .. Am thinking of buying from eBay for $55. Don't u think buying such items is better buying from Yankee than buying from Nigeria.. Most of the parts sold in Nigerian especially transmission, kick starter, alternator and engines are very risky buying them in Lagos.. Most of these stuff have ran their course in terms of millage and actually DOA when it arrives either in Nigeria or the stuff is been either recoil or just badly used and than sold

Fleet managers should also make sure they give out sound cars, you can't eat your cake and have it...

Bros leave them na, they're changing the narrative, they will soon change their brain join. I don't understand how some people reason sometimes. So driver security deposit is not enough, they now want guarantor deposit. SMH. Whoever came up with this suggestion, needs to have his/her head examined.

And for the guy advocating for upfront rentals...continue. You will surely drive the car yourself. Nonsense!
You people that are giving his posts "likes".. You are deceiving yourself, and that is why a lot of you people will likely not be able to own your cars to put on the uber/taxify. Now to get to the matter. If you are renting a house in Lagos, wouldn't you find money to put down for a year plus security deposit? Which at least on a worse case , could be maybe 100k for rent in Lagos. Are you fools telling me you can't come up with the money.. But mean while, the house does not bring you any income at all... but the car rental does bring income , so why can't you look for deposit say 15k to 20k.. This job is what brings food, clothing, school fees etc , why don't you focus on it . We can agree that some partners are crazy and not focus on your well being.. But at the same time you have partners or fleet coy that are very professional and can work with you. People I tire o. You have good partners out there, why don't you work as a team with them.. For example one of my other driver delivered 14k, cause he said that he needed money for his sick child and he will balance up this week... I told my team that the driver should bring 7k only and he shouldn't worry about the rest. This guy has been my best driver so far, the guy treats the car like his own.. So if you are good to me ,why should I be bad to you.

My team is thinking about 15k to 20k.. Worse case scenario nothing less than 10k .. Or if u decide that it is 20k and they only come up with 10k .. Take the rest weekly from them maybe 1k a week till it amounts to 20k. But in general nothing less than 10k. And make sure the car is in top shape.. It is only fair to get your car in shape, if you asking for a deposit

A Camry 2005 is ready to hit the road. If you're a great driver and can meet the following requirements, drop your number.

1) Experienced Uber Driver
2) Rental agreement, to deliver twice a week (Tuesdays and Friday)
3) 2 Guarantors
4) Have a safe place to park the car
5) Shared car maintenance

its time we create a group for just investors, fleet managers. to fish out the bad drivers. And the logic here is . . If you need to rent in Lagos, you need to pay for a full year , sometimes two years. And also you need to put down a deposit to help cover any damages that might occured during or after the tenure of your rent.. But most uber /taxify drivers can not reason when it comes to their job. Why would u want to disrupt, something that his bringing you income. The house u live in does not give you income, but u capable of paying your security deposit and one full year of rent. And you rather disrupt an avenue that brings income.. That I fully don't understand o. So people make sure you collect your assurance weekly deposit o. If a driver is capable of finding his one year rent, he is capable of depositing his weekly "assurance". Money, and am sure partners can let you drop 15k to 20k assurance deposit, that is if you can't drop the full.. I see it been very durable. .let us change the narrative.

If Genuine Investors and real fleet managers can come together, it will make alot of sense.
Abi o , na small small .. Lets us start the narrative or the culture for all new investors and old ones to start making it mandatory to collect their "assurance".deposit. If these becomes a culture trust me fewer bad drivers will exist . While we are doing that I will see how we can start a thread for default drivers , that will include their names and phone number. But we definitely need a thread for it .. It will be a work in progress. If this is not done, we are just deceiving ourselves on these forum.. Because we have identified the problem, and we have not implemented the solution. Let weekly assurance kicks in first, that will be the basic and we can go from there.. People say I talk too much... what you people don't realise I also talk when things are not going smooth.. Yes I talk that I have 8cars + and counting and that am bragging... at the same time I will tell about my losses ..when my car had sludge, I mentioned it and posted the pic for it and offered a solution.. So that people can learn. But at the end ,people will come out and say I have smoke something... now let me get to the matters on things now.

For currant and would be uber/ taxify investors.. Listern very carefully. A driver has just drop my car not too long ago . And guess what ? The driver is owning 13k plus and I didn't collect part of his weekly assurance o. The bastard didn't wait for my manager at all ,he just drop the car and left . And he switch off his phone. Now will have to go and chase his guarantor and also check to see if the car is still OK mechanical wise. When I talk on these thread people will say am crazy, and I mention assurance, people will talk and say this and that. A person even said I come on the thread to spy and use the information to give my drivers hell. Investors collect your assurance o, those that have ears make you hear .. Have made it from now on to start collecting assurance from drivers o. No matter how a driver begs , I will collect my insurance o.. Some of you drivers will say nonsense, that nobody will drive for me. My answer to that is bold and clear. " I will rather have an Army of 5 lions ,than an army of 15 sheeps'' meaning if I can get 5 drivers with assurance deposit.. It is better than 10 cars with no assurance at all.

To end the topic of assurance deposit.. Partners need to make sure their cars are in 100 shape, before giving it out for assurance deposit.. Drivers need to also inspect the car fully .. They should be a clause that says the driver can collect his assurance deposit, he will need to drive for three days to make sure the car is top shape.. If the car is not in top shape, the owner will need to fix the car and make it rite.. Now if the owner refuse to do it , the driver has the rite to collect his assurance money back within a time frame. This is a similar way of how business is done in the western world.. And I will have to talk to other uber partners on the forum to see if we can come up with a thread that will allow us to post list of drivers with their phone numbers that left there partners. So that other partners can be aware .. Trust me if we can't do that on these forum we are just deceiving ourselves. We are just wasting our time on the thread. The major issue is that most of these drivers are coming from these platform, that includes the bad ones and the good ones. I will look into it and go from there. Now for any potential drivers looking for a from me , don't blame me if request for a part of your weekly assurance o.. It is a doggy dog eat world we are in o.. That is the reality o.. I will keep you people posted.. " A word is enough for the wise"

No matter how we cut corners and invent new narratives assurance, there will always be BAD drivers and BAD car-owners.

Like I said earlier, in one of my old posts, I have Zero tolerance for defaulting drivers.

It's a risky business. The drivers loose sometimes too.

Pity no one, maximize profit in a JUST way.
Bottom line plain and simple.. If the car is in top shape like a tokunbo, don't you think that some assurance should be drop? Maybe half of the weekly assurance is ok ? The only thing assurance does is to prevent the owners from being f*@k twice. Nobody wants to f*+k over at all , but in these business people do get f@ck over many times.. So u should limit the amount u get f+*ked over..
