oh my Gods! you didn't know the meaning of druid ![]() are you a christian btw?
I recently just found out about a month ago when I accidently read an article about the subject. I don't know if I would say I qualify as a christian. I'm from a Christian background though. I think I'm just neutral with the whole religion thing at the moment. |
Logicboy03: So, your defense is that you were ignorant about the meaning of "druid"....wowDude, I don't have time for your likes. I know the meaning of druid. Q.E.D Go find a poor sucker to pester. |
Wrong. THose were the period of the Kingdoms. its not called dark ages. Those were just the times. it was the way the whole world was running back then,There is nothing wrong with wearing leaves (atleast back then or even now in villages), as our climate is very hot and we all were not wearing leaves, exactly. depends on the ethnicity, location, etc. Hunting wild animals/subsistence hunting is a good clean way of life.I don't see anything wrong here. I used the term dark ages not as a derogative term relating to the way Africa was back then but as a way to compare the slow developmental process we were undergoing back then. If you feel there's nothing wrong wearing leaves, I think you need to think again. I suspect you're fully claded there, May I ask why? Why don't you wear leaves?? Hunting wild animals was a good way to live and a good way for a man back then to sustain his family but what if the population growth of Africans in respect to the wild animals was in serious low. Don't you think that would be a medium of extinction to those animals? We learnt language already from our ancestors. And we had farming tools. My people , the Hausa are originally farmers. we knew how to make ploughs, hoes, etc. We even have a ritual centred around these farming implements. THe scientifically learned and we all know that jesus was not the son of a god. A spiritual force cannot have a physical human child. it is against the laws of nature. and this son of god has not done anything to this world. instead his doctrines have made this world worse.as for hope. he has created this scenario were everyone thinks they are going to land in hellfire. this sense of hopelessness has furthered created a situation whereby criminals who have murdered or comitted "sins" wont hesistate to do moreso again, since they know they are already doomed to hell.or they may just commit a million crimes and then ask forgiveness from the "all merciful" jesus.
You're abosolutely right about the fact that we already had our own form of communication and I am not disputing the fact that our ancestors used primitive tools for farming. Now my question to you is? If the white man hadn't visited Africa, do you think we would have gotten where we are today? Do you think we would have evolved into the way we are now? Do you think we would have measured intellectually to our western counterparts if they hadn't visited us long time ago and brought with them some knowledge. My anwers to that question is no. Call me a white worshipping african and whatever derogative name you might come up with but deep down inside, you know I'm right Even before the advent of this modern day religion (Christianity and Islam [The two most contradictory religions]). We were ones pagans. The greeks had so many gods they were worshipping but people back then still had reasons to kill. Some kill to occupy new teritory, some kill others with contradictory believes to their gods, some kill just for the fun of it and crime was modestly high. Same with the romans and same with Africa too. Since the beginning of time, man has alway been an animal, killing for no reason whatsoever and blaming it on a cause. It's in our blood, we were created that way but a religion saw a way to put man on a leash, to reduce that desire to kill and commit attrocities and they made up that part about everlasting burning pit and for a while, it worked. I might be wrong with this thesis though. So my point is man has the tendency to wreck havoc and destroy so the few wise amongst us created religion (or was inspired by GOD) to keep us on a leash though some evil minded individuals and power mongrels saw a way to use religion as their personal tool for destruction too and obtain power. We are all one regardless of our skin colour and our differences. The only way mankind would ever come to peace is if we start accepting others differences and look beyond our skin colours. |
Logicboy03: Dont waste your time on him. He calls himself a druid....I'm sure he doesnt know what it means.I think your moniker should be foo-lishness or stupi-dity as you never have anything reasonable to say. Visit https://www.nairaland.com/1343722/username-change where I wrote a short note to Seun about my username change. |
Mr Troll: I'm not a religious zealot, I'm more like a free thinker. I do believe of a super-intelligent being but I am not sure where he truly exist in one form of religion or another. Africa was living in the dark ages but the westerners invaded us and gave us enlightenment though some greedy ones saw how naive we were and took advantage of us. If they hadn't had visited Africa, we would still be wearing leaves to cover our nake-dness and hunting wild animals as food like savages so I give them kudos for that. I told you to give me the names of Africans who has brought enlightenment to the continent Africa, and all you had to come up with was list of popular Africans. Did Nelson Mandella teach us how to read of write or did Didier Drogba help us create simple farming tools. The question of who Jesus was is something I have learnt not to tamper with or any religious matter whatsoever. No one is absolutely certain if he was made up and just gargautan lie or if he truly existed and if he is the son of GOD but one thing I know, Christianity or any other religion has given people the means to Hope. Man without hope is nothing. So stop asking yourself what this palenstine got to do with Africa but try to look for a solution to better the lives of those around you or simply just start from yourself. |
Story sounds far-fetched. The spoiler alert was the part where she laid emphasis on "BlackBerry Kingdom" Also, another part that got me cracking and confirmed my suspicion that this story was a farse was the headgear and make-up part. This is the exact reason why I don't go to church, too much lies, too much false prophesies, deliverance, too many fake prophets all in the name of winning more soul and making more money. This is just a cheap way to get publicity.. Bye everyone, I'm off to my BlackBerry Kingdom. ![]() |
Just out of curiousity. Who are the great men Africa has produced throughout the millenia? What were their contributions to the development of Africa? Did these "great" African men bring civilization and western education to Africa? |
It's no surprise that something of this nature was bound to happen. I'm not sure what these extremist are fighting for but from the sight of things, I can only say they've killed any chance they have for redemption from the Nigerian government. These so called radical islamic extremist group stooping so low to massacre unharmed innocent children is the lowest of them all. Isn't it hyprocrisy they're trying to destroy anything western related when they themselves use weapons of mass destructions for their illicit acts. I don't want to be a religious bigot but nothing good comes from religion extremist whatever form. Why can't we live and let others live. What can you expect from a religion whose mentor and messiah was a warlord and commandeered the killing of "infidels" in his own time. Mr. President needs to stand up and take serious action against these insurgence whose value to human life means nothing. I'm praying for this country Nigeria for our unity but everyday, I see no hope. I think Mr. President is actually letting all these happen for political reasons. Maybe his agenda is the division of nation Nigeria come 2015 and with the way things are happening, it's a possibility. Mr. President is handling this menace the wrong way. Cut the head of the body and watch the rest wither. I think he should create an intelligence organization or something or a division of the J.T.F to fish out those who are sponsoring these barbarians. Anything apart from that is just waste of time and public funds. The top syndicates of this islamic extremist should be captured and watch the foot soldiers run from safety. Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win” ― Sun Tzu, The Art of War Mr. President is handling this menace the wrong way! |
Like nigerians can't speak English fluently Well i have never heard a nigerians speaking understandable English.
"understandable English". Like seriously? Are you kidding me? WTF does that mean? |
I thought the fight against this radical Islamic also known a Boko-Haram was the job of the federal government alone to handle with the help of the Civilian J.T.F as lookout and sweepers. I don't understand why the executive governor of a state would want to arm civilians all in the diguise of protecting themselves. I thought the main objective of the civilian J.T.F was just for reconnaissance missions only and the fighting was left for the J.T.f? I am very suspicious of the recent turn of things and the arming of the civilian J.T.F. I suspect there's a catch to all these knowing the 2015 election is just at the corner. I think Mr. President needs to stand on his feet and make an arbituary decision regarding this matter. I don't know much about Nigerian politics and the Nigerian consitutiion but I know when something's not right and when something smells fishy. Isn't it treason when a state government arm it's citizen for no good reason? I don't even think he has the right since the state governon is not the commander in chief of the armed forces.. All things said, I think this governor is preparing for war come 2015 if the election doesn't go their way. I hope Mr. President is not too stupid to see this. |
The worst part of hell is reserved for those who remain neutral in times of moral crisis. |

davidylan: that there... is the perfect summation of your own online personae. Kinda strange that you didnt realize this yourself.Exactly!. LogicBoy has so much anger and some unresolved issues and he's always looking for trouble online. He's very irritating. |
So you mean to say the freedom of expression and speech is a farse? |
texanomaly: You guys kill me.@Texanomaly, just saw this book and thought you might like it. Its titled Dad is Fat by Jim Gaffigan. The dude is funny, thought I should share.. BTW, nice picture though. Are you sure you're a Nigerian? Would be back on this topic soon. |

Phaymostip: i tot i ll see a body by the rail side dead and batteredYou're sick, like seriously you need help. |
plaetton: Well , my friend, let say this, and please commit it to memory:What if at the last day religion was right and science was wrong after all the centuries of mathematic and scientific evaluations? |
Million dollar question. |

I thinks it's time the mods shift this topic to the frontpage. |
Mr Troll: can you print this and paste it on Wiegrafs forehead? Although i wouldn't say science is being hypocritical. Just the baby pseudoscientists on this forum being all presumptuous and haughty. ![]() |
Afam4eva: The obvious answer to this question will be security. But isn't there a way around it such that our residential houses will be open just like the Americans do theirs. I think fences take away the beauty that a house is supposed to add to the environment and it also makes sure that there's no uniformity. Every compound is like a country on it's own. Why can't we borrow a leaf from the way American suburbs look like.Same reason you keep money and other valuables in the bank. |
lynpetra: Do u have a problem with a call gurl??No, not really. They are human afterall. I just wondered why you were quick to defend. So you confirmed my suspicion.. |
lynpetra: And you can still stand your mother around youBabe thread carefully or are you a callgirl? |
plaetton: Mr Troll,Note that I higlighted the world 'chance' in your statement. It's what I've been trying to say all these while. Creationism believes of an intelligent being with great engineering and architectural skill who created the world and all living organisms to inhabit the earth while science (evolution) says life evolved from a non living thing and the universe was created by chance. Both creationish and evolution don't give a specific and logical answer as to where we really come from and how we got here. So what the creator of this thread is trying to say, if religion says we were created by an intelligent being why is science being all hypocritical when themselves do not have a definite answer as to how we all got here. |
Amaechi just won my heart with his generous donation. Big ups to governor for his philanthropy which shows politicians are human afterall. OJB, I hope you have a successful surgery with no complications and speedy recovery. |
Logicboy03: Go and read a science book. I am not your teacherGuy, wetin dey do you? Abi bomb dey your head? |
plaetton: My friend , I think you guys misunderstand what pure chance means in the context of evolution. No one says that the universe, the galaxies, stars and planets merged overnight by pure chance.Everything you just mentioned still boils down to the part to support my thesis where I said evolution is based on pure chance. |
SmashingM: Ex told me (without my asking him) that he earns 25k a month as IT specialist not knowing that i accidentally saw his payslip. Is it any of your business if he makes more or less? |
Logicboy03: Fail....go back to your alchemy and old magic because you clearly do not understand science. Silly druid. In a layman's term, kindly explain evolution to me if it's not pure chance. In the big bang theory in layman's term, scientist claim the universe just exploded into being and all the the planets, galaxies, milky waves were created from that single explosion. Kindly tell me otherwise if that's not chance.. So then what's the difference between creationism and evolution? |
Dudes on here are just recycling the same story. Guys, you need to get more creative. This thread is getting less interesting. |

I'm in tears brethren
I think you just like to argue...I love it.
Whenever I see any of these monikers, I'm in! Ya'll are fun to follow. LOLz I may have to stop though. I find myself picking everyone's posts apart in my head, and have to stop myself from dissecting it and regurgitating it back at them. No offense. I truly enjoy the debate.
