Did it once and regretted it. It depends on the lady. Some have a shiite heart and such stuff often reminds you why you ran from them.
PoliticsRe: Fuel Subsidy To Go Next Year- Sanusi by Druss(m): 10:12am On Oct 12, 2012
Sealeddeal: the petrol subsidy removal is an effort in right direction.it will help to remove the obvious inequality/discrimination that govt has so far shown to the poor.Petrol subsidy is something that govt placed to enrich the rich and further leave the poor to die.
Equally, the subsidy regime has successfully resisted the direct private investment in major sector in oil and gas industry.the removal of subsidy will help to attract investment in those sector and facillitate the effective management of oil/gas industry while creating enormous jobs..the petrol subsidy removal will help to cover the loop holes in oil/gas industry to great extent. The removal of petrol subsidy will increase the price of petrol but which will definitely reduce as time goes on. President Goodluck Jonathan has shown that he is a strong leader but is very cautious. I strongly support the removal of petrol subsidy.
Sorry - you think the rich will suffer more than the poor if subsidy is removed? LWKMD!! The only reason we are underdeveloped is we are a corrupt nation!! GEJ is NOT A STRONG LEADER!!

Bullcrap!! From Marina to Lekki to Surulere - I have never bought for more than 97.5 naira. Unless something has changed since Sunday.

Bukkyade: I will be very glad if this subsidy is finally removed. I understand it is stalling development of the oil sector and causing serious hardship on Nigerians.
Even with the subsidy thing, some areas still buy fuel as much as 140 a liter. So what's the difference?
It's better we remove it and reap from the benefits of deregulation that it has to offer rather than keep postponing doomsday.
The fuel subsidy is not stalling the development of anything. The only thing is government want to reduce its responsibility to the Nigerian people. Unfortunately they have not realised for this thing to work - the standard of living in Nigeria has to rise higher. Government has to prepare a workable and viable vision for the future, sell that vision to Nigerians and other stakeholders and implement it.

The current leadership has shown they lack the integrity, communication skills and will to do such!

sanchez4eva: When I wrote that they are laughing at our bank accounts you took everything personal..It's a simple fact that most of us are just hating on them....we Don't know their history or how they suffered before they made it..just because we were lucky enough to go to school doesn't make us better..
It is quite funny that you assume that people are hating on someone because they are pointing out flaws which someone has. If you go far enough down the history of music, you would find bards and classical music composers. These guys were knowledgeable not only in music but were also enlightened. What we have today are intellectual-lazy people who seem to be chasing only money. Perhaps that explains why many do not last that long or achieve true greatness.

If Fela had been asked that question, I am sure he would have scored well and you can tell from his music that he has a solid command of the language he is singing in. Celebrity status is often given in this modern world for flimsical reasons. I know people that know people and the people you refer to as celebs - Good luck. If those are who you consider - I laff. You have a long way to go.
FamilyRe: How To Get A House-Help In Nigeria By Elnathan John by Druss(m): 6:48am On Oct 09, 2012
Tintinix: I always recall that we had two live in 'aunties' or aunty and uncle in our home up until secoundary school!
This did not stop my mom from waking up every morning at 3-4am, a habit she is finding very hard to break many years on and none of her kids are at home with her (infact my dad barricades her from leaving the bed somedays), and this did not stop us her kids from having morning duties from a tender age.
When the stress of these aunties and uncles eventually caught up with all of us in the house we asked our mom to send them back and never to get anyone again, that we didnt see what they were doing for us!
Now i know (as a mom) that that decision was not a light one for her to have taken , but yes she made it, and we lived as a nuclear family for more than 15 years till i left home,
How did we manage; I and my sister exchanged kitchen and house chores weekly. My Mom bore the brunt of our learning curve, but in a year we started pursing her from her kitchen until the food is cooked, and she comes to serve, they ate enough salt and burnt food initially, but everytime the food made small sense.

Now years on all the maids (even the ones from so called agencies and all above 19 years) have to be seriously trained because they all dont know how to work!
I see myself repeating the same errands daily, they cannot handle multi tasking ( i.e. after this do that, they will forget the that) or just think on their own! and so you have to ask for the most minute and obvious thing to be seen and done. This is not because i cannot do them, but because they should just reason as a human being, i teach them how to do that too.
However i notice that as human beings too, when it comes to their own personal needs, like their salaries, their food, personal care, looking good before we leave home, bathing time they know just what they are doing....

So when i see critisism generalizing all Nigerian working mothers as lazy, i just shrug..I AM HARD WORKING, I LOVE my family, but i realize that their is sense in having minders run around with the kids, watch them ( though they cannot watch them more than us the parents) infact i am always watching the minder and the kids.
Now i realize the wisdom in my parents advise, that the most crucial ages for the kids and your sanity is actually from the toddler to about 8 or 9 years. After then we will restructure.
Not all Nigerian working mothers are lazy. I feel you on the intelligence aspect. My wife's maid can be so slow when doing things and doesnt hear well but when it comes to food and salary - forget it, Albert Einstein Part 2 don land.

CelebritiesRe: Are Our Celebrities Unintelligent Or What? (Video) by Druss(m): 6:21am On Oct 09, 2012
ramalot: Nigerians in general are DUMB (did i just generalize? - yes, i did). Few individuals choose to deviate from this status quo, and get tagged as "forming".
When a Nigerian tries to speak good English as his default communication method, the ignorant ones raise their noses in disgust.
So, how is it surprising that a bunch of "stars" know nothing about the word 'incumbent' which they hear almost every day in political news discussions (The incumbent Governor etc..)

You fellas in Nigeria need to do yourselves a favor, and break out of the 'high school' mindset that being dumb is cool; because it is NOT.

An urban Poet once said: "Ignorance is bliss, and Niggaz luv this, so Niggaz take pride in not knowing"

And you wonder why we're not growing?
KPOM!! I dont know when the mindset started entering the country. When I was in school, the two ways to be cool were either being smart and/or being smart. Now I am not so sure. The standard has fallen badly and we are giving excuses!! CHEI!!

I pity the man who marries such a wife. It shows the lack of maturity in the woman. It shows a lack of understanding of building a family up. However if the man is a useless braggart who doesn't know how to spend money well and frugally - then I do not blame the woman.

And SUV and executinal demonstrate their reasoning skills by insulting and displaying total emptiness of intellectual capability in their posts. So someone cant point something wrong out unless they point everything wrong out!

People shud take note from their posts in how to be stupid and how to be shamelessly stupid.

I know the author of that piece and I agree with him. Nigeria is about to get slam dunked. It is those of us in the land that will suffer it. I will suffer less due to being S.G. of the USS but it will still near me.

This thread explains why bad governance became the norm in Nigeria. Revisit this thread at the end of his first term. How the hell this thread turned into an example of true stupidity with reference to tribalism and ignorance baffles me. All I can say is wisdom is lacking in this generation based on the idiotic comments read here. People are suffering in real life and some idiots are trying to bring tribalism into issues. Do you think people are suffering in Nigeria because they are Igbo or Yoruba? Seun should ban all the idiots in this thread.

PoliticsRe: Fashola Rips Goodluck To Shreds! by Druss(m): 12:50pm On Feb 11, 2011
seunspice:
Lets break this down real quick, The president used the word 'rascals' and claimed that the PDP must rescue the South West from 'these rascals'.
1.    Now how many states in the SW are PDP governed? i believe just Oyo and Ogun except you want us to bring in Kwara into this equation. So he was referring to the 'rascals' in Lagos, Ekiti, Ondo and Osun.
2.    Are the citizens and residents of these PDP states reaping the dividends of democracy? No would be the outright answer. As a former resident of Ibadan i dread visiting the city these days. Insecurity is at its peak, rascality is the order of the day, strikes by Teachers, doctors and other civil servants amongst others, infrastructure decay, Not even the major federal road from Ojoo to the lagos road toll plaza (former) has been fixed. in all honesty an average Oyo resident would tell you only croonies of the rulling faction of the PDP would have anything positive to say about the government there. Its almost the same story in Ogun state where the use of Jazz (juju) occultic fetishes etc has been the order of the day in this day and age.
3.    Oyo and Ogun states have the biggest intra party issues in the SW. We have just witnessed a power play that would make the No4 citizen inelligible for a rerun because of power tussles here and there and we should not forger the issues in ibadan where NURTW goons are used to claim superiority among the political class.

Judging by all these, if the president refers to the non PDP govs in the south west as rascals, then rascality pays. W#e have seem the motion in the movements of the fashola administration. i am not an ACN fan, but in Lagos at least we have something in the semblance of leadership. We all see how we are moving towards a steady direction. The PDP has nothing to show for 12 years at the helm, other than Bomb blasts, religious crisis and unguided verbal missiles from brainless politicians. Not that the other parties fare better, but the extended rigged stay of the PDP has made us see their flaws visibly.
I think someone needs to make a shirt saying 'I am a SW rascal'!! I would gladly wear that than support GEJ. PDP is a disgrace of a party.
PoliticsRe: Fashola Rips Goodluck To Shreds! by Druss(m): 10:25am On Feb 10, 2011
I have to thank GEJ for one thing. I have decided firmly who I am going to vote for. Shebi we are rascals in Lagos - I am exercising my right to vote by voting against him and PDP's entry in Lagos.

GEJ has behaved most undiplomatically and has shown a lack of class. Ogun state is useless - he didnt call them rascals. Oyo state of the amala politics. It is the states where the people discovered that there was rigging and kicked PDP out that are rascals!! LOL!!

What of his state people - ze Bayelsa who stoned him!! They are not rascals. It is us in the SW who say NO to PDP and the uselessness it represents that are rascals. April is coming!!

You just don't know what you are talking about. You think you can shout abuse at a politician at a meeting and not be thrown out.
You think freedom of speech means the freedom to curse and abuse people?
Are you now changing goal posts - tensor. Now I dont know what I am talking about.

It is even worse for you. I dont believe in freedom of speech. I believe freedom without responsibility leads to anarchy.

From what I have seen Lamido deserved the insults. It is funny that the thing pain am so much.

If he is cursed and abused - how does that justify wasting taxpayers money to put the guy in jail for some time? Been thrown out is different from being sent to jail. Wisdom would have dictated that he delete the prayer from his wall and then 'invite' the poster to his home for dialogue. This throwing into jail has made the situation popular!!

Absolute rubbish. In England there is no culture of directing vitriolic abuse or raining bitter curses on people. Those curses won't even be published in the first place.
Fine you can criticize a leader's policies and programs or even his actions but it should never descend to the gratitously personal level.
In the UK there is no culture of what?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10619063 - Isnt that an example,
