festacman:God bless you! You wrote 100% truth. You really follow her career and the media too. |
dollarsplenty:Stop lying without shame in public! Joana Kolo is NOT a daughter of any APC chieftain. How is it so easy for idiots like you to just write outright lies like this on a public forum? Did you want to impress nincompoops like you, who do not follow the media? Joana is a popular student activist, women mobilizer, and environmentalist, from when she was a student at Kwara State University, KWASU, Malete. Wish her well, enjoin her to represent her generation excellently, and not stupidly (and falsely) claim that she was a daughter of any APC chieftain (which she is NOT)!!! |
pmc01:Stop being a fool in public! Have you heard about the Joint Nigeria South Africa Business Council? That Council is jointly led by the two Presidents and they schedule their meetings between both countries. Buhari will attend that meeting, and also meet the Nigerian Community in South Africa. This official trip was agreed between Buhari and Ramaphosa long before the xenophobic attack occurred! Some of you are damn too stupid to follow news. Buhari's itinerary on this visit is all over the media, but daft, lazy youth like you still came on Nairaland to display their abject foolishness! Hate will kill some of you. Whether or not you like it, Buhari is the President of Nigeria (and thus your President) till 2023! |
gunuvi:Ignoramus nincompoop, please get educated! Both Northern and Southern borders were closed!! Read the newspapers; the story is there. All states with borders are affected- both South and North. Hatred for tribe and region that are not yours, will kill some of you soon... |
He appointed 180 aides, including three (3) Umahis, his OWN BIOLOGICAL/BLOOD BROTHERS! He even had to mention their names. Hypocrisy meant that some people are avoiding this thread/topic. If it was an APC Governor who committed this shameful nepotism and crass stupidity of waste of resources, comments would have reached page 20! At a time most states are facing a fiscal crisis, this Governor just appointed 180 aides in one swoop! And he will still appoint Commissiomers, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants! Those might be, say, 60. Senseless! Most politicians (and their blind supporters) are damn wicked! |
Atiku's lawyers just scammed him and PDP of millions of naira! A student of 100 Level Law, hearing the robust pronouncements of the Lordships (JCAs), would agree that Atiku's legal team, including the daft loudmouth, Mike Ozekhome, should be lined up at any village square (or at the Eagle Square in Abuja) and flogged 10,000 strokes of the cane! Atiku's lawyers just brought an empty case to His Lordships, JCAs. They failed in even the most elementary principles of law regarding poorly establishing proof, non-diligent interrogation of witnesses (from both sides), daft dumping of tonnes of huge documents on the Tribunal (without any interrogation whatsoever)!!! They wasted the time of the court!!! Stupid... |
Interesting to see that two short men (Oshiomhole and Secondus) are Chairmen of the two biggest parties... But the short one from Edo State will be victorious today! The other one from Rivers State always make the second (2nd) position, in deference to his name- Secondus! Congratulations to President Buhari. May God guide you. The time to work better for ALL Nigerians is now... |
But the pensioners and their family members still voted the same Ortom for a second term just because he scammed them with baseless and useless propaganda of: “APC is against Christians”, “vote me to disgrace Fulani people”, “I’m a better Christian than Akume and Jime, the APC candidate.” Benue people should stop disturbing us- they should enjoy the daft Ortom they voted for a 2nd term! When stupid sentiments becloud people’s reasoning! It was the same way Abia and Cross River people voted the likes of Ikpeazu and Ayade respectively for a 2nd term. I predict it here that Kogi people will do exactly the same thing in November! |
Too fake! Major mistakes on the fake poster. It’s Oshiomhole (not “Oshiomole” written there). It’s Miyetti Allah... (not ”Miyatti Allah” written there). Mischief makers are behind the fake poster... |
Why do most Governors (whether PDP or APC, or APGA, Labour Party, etc) seek to impose their choice of successor on their party and the electorate? This is a rhetorical question, with the answer: "They need a person to cover their tracks/their loot!" Seriake Dickson thinks that Duoye will protect his loot better than other stooges! What happened to current SSG Kamela Okara, his initial 'loot protector' choice? |
This foolish, disloyal woman, Bucknor-Akerele, was impeached for gross insubordination! She felt that since she was older than Tinubu, he, as Governor, should defer to her privately and publicly. She was daft. In most states, Deputy Governors are far older than their Governors (there are too many examples), yet, they both work/worked together. She has refused to move on from an impeachment done in 2002! 17 years after... She is a completely useless politician (is she even still one?). This woman has never (cannot) even summon 10 votes in her polling booth for her failed, evil political party, PDP. Sore loser. Clown. |
Herbephe1:Obviously, you do not watch TVC's Journalists' Hangout often enough. There have been so many instances where the journalists there lampooned Buhari, APC, and APC Governors on different issues. Even Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, who some ignorant haters accuse of shielding Buhari and APC, always criticizes the same Buhari and APC on Journalists' Hangout- he did it again yesterday! Ismail Omipidan is a smart journalist who has over 20 years experience in the media. This appointment is well deserved... People like you make uninformed comments based on hateful prejudice... You can do a search on Youtube for old episodes of Journalists' Hangout to confirm my assertion. |
Nigeria and her crazy politicians! Bayelsa, a tiny state with the lowest number of local governments in Nigeria, only 8, more than half made up of water, spends a whopping sum of N500 million every month (and N6 billion every year) on salaries of 1,500 political office holders ![]() And Governor Seriake Dickson, a trained lawyer, educated, said that having 21 candidates vying for the PDP ticket is very good? Why are the majority of our leaders and our elites this daft and wicked? |
RealLordZeus:Exactly my views too on other platforms... They claimed that the closure would end in October, ahead of a stress-free Christmas, so, why start now, rather than after Sallah (Ileya, Big Eid), which starts on Sunday August 11, and for which public holidays would be declared on Monday and Tuesday, August 12 and 13 respectively. October is two months away from Christmas, what would have cost them to shift this daft closure until after Sallah? That road is always a den of heavy traffic and this senseless decision will definitely make it even more cumbersome for travelers, majority of whom cannot afford air travel the elites so much enjoy... A lot of people would travel out of Lagos to their home states from next Friday ahead of the Sallah on Sunday, August 11. The issue of timing is a very stupid decision... |
festacman:The exception was Abdulfatah Ahmed vs Bukola Saraki, 2011 to 2019. Governor Ahmed behaved like a servile dog to Bukola Saraki so much that NO allocation from anywhere (FAAC, etc) could be touched UNTIL Bukola Saraki arrived from Abuja. That was the reason he (Ahmed) went down as one of the most useless Governors in the history of Kwara State with no single legacy worth mentioning... |
The fool who wears an Afro hairstyle, Shehu Sanni, what did he do as Senator for 4 years (2015 to 2019) to change the status quo? What did he (Shehu Sanni) do for the masses in his small Senatorial District other than distribution of pocket-sized transistor radios to few constituents as "empowerment"? The daft clown was retired politically by El-Rufai and now, he spends his entire life, daily, ranting on Twitter! If the fool had been allowed to remain in APC, and if he was elected as Senator this year, would he have loudly supported this nonsense revolution? How could any sane man follow anything spearheaded by Shehu Sani? We are damn too gullible! Anyone who enjoyed political largesse from 1999 till today has NO MORAL RIGHT to lead any lazy youth to any senseless protest! I can understand Sowore leading it, but fools like Shehu Sanni should be castrated already! |
wellmax:Wellmax, you are wrong. There are no lies here. The President CANNOT inaugurate the Ministers-designate and assign portfolios to them UNTIL AFTER he must have received an official communication/letter from the Senate notifying him of the confirmation of all of them (with their individual names clearly stated on the letter) to him. It is the law. |
PDP got a whopping 20 Chairmen! No opposition party got a single Committee chairmanship in both the Senate and the House of Reps under PDP's 16-year rule. Not one! Senator (Dr.) Ahmad Lawan is surely a smart politician. This is a very, very balanced and 'inclusive' list. Dino Melaye (PDP, Kogi) even got one of the very prominent (I won't use the word "juicy" Committees- Aviation! Ike Ikweremadu (PDP, Enugu) got another 'big one'- Environment Committee! Other 'big ones' are: James Manager (PDP, Delta) got Gas Resources! A big one too! Albert Bassey Akpan (PDP, Akwa Ibom) got Petroleum Upstream! Mathew Urhogide (PDP, Edo) got Public Accounts! Obinna Ogba (PDP, Ebonyi) got Sports & Youth Development! Gabriel Suswam (PDP, Benue) got Power, Steel & Metallurgy! Clifford Ordia (PDP, Edo) got Local & Foreign Debts! Peter Nwaoboshi (PDP, Delta) got Niger Delta! George Sekibo (PDP, Rivers) got Navy! Gershom Bassey (PDP, Cross River) got FERMA! Sam Egwu (PDP, Ebonyi) got Housing! Theodore Orji (PDP, Abia) got Privatization! Shuaibu Lau (PDP, Taraba) got Public Procurement! Uche Ekwunife (PDP, Anambra) got Science & Technology! Rose Oko (PDP, Cross River) got Trade & Investment! The effect of Ahmad Lawan's PhD degree in Remote Sensing from Ivy-League Uni, Cranfield University, UK, is apparent... Well done! |
noobody:True; he’s a banker. He is the GMD/CEO of UBA, Kennedy Uzoka... |
noobody:That is the GMD/CEO of UBA, Kennedy Uzoka! Lol... |
This guy, Sunday Dare, has been the BEST PERFORMER, so far, in the screening of Minister-nominees by the Senate... He was very articulate, suave, and answered ALL questions confidently and brilliantly with the use of data and analysis. I was forced to go Google up his full profile on the internet. I read a few of them and it was clear why he did so well at the screening. Another quality Tinubu protégé. Hate or like Tinubu (he has his foibles/weakneses), he is a champion in attracting and mentoring smart professionals to his political corner... |
DAramis:A fresh election will be conducted; it is called a bye-election. It happened in the past under Yar'Adua and Jonathan. |
YoungAncient1:Where were you when Yar'Adua and Jonathan, as Presidents, nominated Senators Adamu Aliero and Senator Bala Mohammed (current Bauchi State Governor) as Ministers of the FCT when they were both still members of the Senate? Nothing is wrong with Buhari's nomination of a member of the House of Reps...As it happened in the past, Emeka Nwajiuba's House of Reps seat will be contested by new candidates in a bye-election... |
ejifranks:Nothing new. There is precedence. Senator Adamu Aliero of Kebbi, PDP, was appointed FCT Minister by late President Yar'Adua when he was a Senator. Senator Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, ANPP (now Bauchi State Governor under PDP) was appointed as FCT Minister by President Jonathan when he was still a Senator. Their seats were declared vacant and bye-elections were held to fill the Senate seats... Same will happen to Emeka Nwajiuba once he is confirmed as Minister by the Senate. |
Samunique:Some of you don’t have brains. You stupidly and incredibly foolishly make a mountain out of a mole hill. How about the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde of the PDP, who was also absent? Who is his ‘master’ who asked him not to attend the funeral? Also, was Sanwo-Olu and Abiodun of Lagos and Ogun, who both attended the funeral service not products of the ‘master’? So, did they disobey their ‘master’ by attending? You do not have a brain, but at least pretend to have one next time... |
Edokpia:That was clearly stated as The Punch (from the obvious link), not The Nation. Are you willfully blind? Or stupid? Or brainless Choose any... |
What ![]() Based on the cross-examination of this (Atiku's) "star witness", ATIKU HAS LOST AT THE TRIBUNAL!!! The daftest student of 'Law of Evidence 101' knows that Atiku's case at the Tribunal has a very faulty background! How could Atiku be so easily deceived? If this story is true, Atiku and PDP should seek a refund of their legal fees immediately from their horde of so-called SANs, including that loudmouth, the garrulous spokesman of the corrupt elite, Mike Ozekhome... This is Legal 419 at its best!!! Atiku and PDP have both been scammed by greedy lawyers... KAI! Incredible!!! |
daddytime:You are wrong. There was nothing close to nepotism here. These four nominees were presented now to complete the full remit of the 6 Executive and 6 Non-Executive positions (who had been confirmed earlier by the 8th Senate under Bukola Saraki when the President initially presented the full list). ALL 6 geo-political zones are represented at the NCC at BOTH Executive and Non-Executive levels. Buhari has issues but on this particular one, you were dead wrong... |
Yes, localize it; don’t force it on the entire nation. Meanwhile, Gov. Matawalle of Zamfara State is a PDP member; also, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi and Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, both PDP members, have also publicly supported establishment of Ruga in their states. Are these guys straying from PDP’s position? |
I’m still searching for words to apply in my response to this news story. We thought that Jonathan spoke unintelligently (and he did so many times); however, sometimes, I think that the incumbent does worse... As a leader, some things are best left unsaid (even if you thought about them), things like “I am under pressure to form my cabinet (Mr. President, this was after you were sworn in for a second term on May 29 and yesterday was July 11!!!); “I worked with strangers as Ministers in my first term- I did not know most of them, I just relied on the party to pick most of them for me”)... This is so, so unpresidential... Nigeria’s elected Presidents since Shagari in 1979 (for the past 40 years) were ALL unprepared for the Presidency! They were ALL invited to assume the Presidency and it’s not strange that the country is where it is, today! The only man who prepared for it- MKO Abiola- (had the brains- 1st Class Accountancy degree from University of Glasgow, Scotland, FCCA, President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, administrator, business founder/owner/manager, super-intelligent, etc) was murdered in wickedly solitary confinement... |
It’s good to see young people (age 25, 26, 32, and 33) being appointed to these type of positions. In the past, if they didn’t have about 20 years experience they wouldn’t have been appointed... Gbaja did well... |
Chukwueze...Talent isn’t about age. Golden boy! |

Committees- Aviation!
