My commercial web development year usually ends in June and I take the other half of the year for developing my own ideas and doing more study to learn new stuff... well commercial development had to spill into July so my freelance vacation starts August. I spent last weekend making a small list of features I'll like to see on the WHMCS billing system. The beauty of WHMCS is that it is scalable and contributions in form of addons, modules etc can be written for it. So I have decided to create the following addons. These addons will be bundled in a new brand of plans to come out on TruDigits in mid September that will also come bundled with WHMCS licenses. 1. Expense monitor - Gives you a chance in your admin interface to record the inflow and outflow of funds, daily. I did this on Monday. 2. SMS Notification - sends out SMS to clients for different events, like when an order is placed, an invoice is generated or paid for, a ticket is replied etc. I am working on this and should test it sometime this week. Bulk and single messages can be sent to clients. This will work with all gateways that support a parameter based API system. 3. A domain order filter: I have had cases where people register domains intended for use as phishing sites, because of the automated nature of things these domains are actually registered for them once they make payment. We then have to manually terminate the order. Of course no refunds will be made for a domain name registration that was used in a way as to breach the terms of service. Well this addon will prevent such domain from being registered automatically even after payment. It will be flagged for a manual review. So there will be a blacklist and a whitelist for false positives. 4. A canned message system for tickets: Some times we have to send almost the same reply to more than one ticket. A canned ticket system will save responses to frequently created tickets so all an admin has to do is copy the response to clipboard, paste in the ticket response and make any little adjustments. I will post screenshots here as I work on them. If you have any issues with WHMCS or need some custom addon built you could bring them up. If they are really cool ideas, I will add them to my list and release to you when done. ![]() Sorry for the lengthy talk, this place could be boring at times ![]() |
I am getting an error at the point of login validation on the gtbank internet banking platform: "Unable to validate user profile at this time;please try again later" ...is it just me or its general? |
Eyowo, Voguepay, Cashenvoy (like most 3rd party gateways) all use the same method of integration and 'RESTful' callback. I have written integration plugins for all 3 of them and its the same pattern. There's nothing easy or hard about integration. This is about money, figures and security... don't try to integrate a payment gateway if you don't possess the required skills. Integration should not be encouraged as a DIY thing. Eyowo has a really long and boring system of verification like Post UME. I didn't have to pass through all though. (FIFA pikin ) P.S: I am loving the Voguepay swag (though not a merchant) but I am not satisfied with the settlement of all 3 systems. I am looking for a merchant that will settle transactions every 48 hours. |
Seun: Xatax is a test account. Oop. Sorry about this confusion. This guy ![]() DAvIt0: daul core abeg add 1 addon domain and mysql db to your 3500/yr plan pleasseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeMaybe the issue of addon domains will be revisited soon but I can't give any concrete word on that. as for the MySQL DB that plan comes with one DB. You can however use one DB for more than one script by using a DB different DB prefix for each script. |
ojochidem: And what qualifies someone who has not been part of this board to become a moderator??Ma fren keep quiet, you wan pursue the babe now now?!?! ![]() Only ask this (very important) question if this member turns out to be a guy ![]()
And what if he/
Its a Sunday and I have faith that she is a she and not a he. |

miracle4: no that is an error from their own end what they offer for 2,500 is 5gb storage 20gb bandwithdThat's more like it! Contact them to correct the information on their site too. Thanks for the clarification. |
From a very neutral point of view see the cleverness of their 2,500 Naira per year hosting plan with the following spec below: 30 GB Storage 5GB Bandwidth Free Domain Control Panel 30GB diskspace with 5GB monthly transfer. Lol that means you wont be able to fill up you 30GB diskspace within the first 6 months of your subscription. If you ever make it to filling up your 30GB of space with your data you can only have read/write access to 5GB of your 30GB data per month. Really this is ridiculously funny. Mehn it just pays to be transparent in business, whats the use of offering people what they can't use fully? |
On PC its down, I don't know the scope of the problem. [s]On Blackberry its working with no issues that I have noticed.[/s] Edit: its down on Blackberry too. Now I think this is general. |
so wt do i do now @dualcore.. contact smartweb and complain..it probably my fault, i made payments after it was overdue...tho they still sent me all normal mails
Contact your host and ask for your domain to be registered, do not start resorting to any other service provider just yet. You have already paid for the service. |
The domain you just provided has not even been registered and is still available for anyone to register. Confirm that is the actual domain you ordered with your host service provider. If it is... they have not registered it so this is not an issue of domain propagation. P.S: It would be in your best interest to modify your post and take off the domain name because it can be registered by anyone before your host finally decides to register it in fulfillment of your order. |
Provide the domain name and I can run a check for you to see what the problem could be. Just some useful info, domain propagation is immediate for new domain registrations as long as the nameservers were not changed a while after registration. Domain propagation could take 24-48 hours from the time of change of the DNS records (Could be nameservers, A records, CNAME, etc). |
But Google has told you what's wrong here: http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ufumes.net%2F&client=googlechrome&hl=en-US Do a search of the string "derdkxpnqknhdvpf.ru" and remove every line or block of code where you see it. In my experience you will see a block of code at the top of your index page on the first line with some stuff between <script></script>. That's the bad guy you should delete. |
Its not entirely necessary for a service to have a HTTPS connection when it's using a third-party payment gateway. As long as the third-party payment gateway has SSL, its fine. The entire processing with confidential info (like credit card numbers) takes place on the third-party's site and I haven't seen any serious payment gateway that won't have a secured connection. However its still a good idea for such services to have their own SSL cert. It gives the customers some more sense of security, its gives the business a more solid outlook and really... there's nothing like too much security. So bottom line is that you are still safe without the secured connection, as long as the credit card payments are processed by a third-party gateway which has a secured connection. |
This week Freelancer.com suspended my account. Pathetic Reason: I did a project for a Nigerian on freelancer.com and got paid through Freelancer.com. You would say "but that's how it should be done".... let me copy-paste part of Freelancer.com's pathetic reply. We have noted your explanation on your project with *********. We have reasons to believe that you may already know the employer before the project was posted. To set your expectations correctly, if you're transacting with a user that is located in the same area as you are, this gives us the impression that you're either generating feedbacks or doing money exchange which are prohibited in our site. Also this action is very impractical since you will have to pay for fees and commissions whereas you can just hand over the project to him and pay instantly. Please note that we may need to reverse the payments that were transferred between the accounts. Please confirm your understanding of this resolution. My crime: I followed the Freelancer.com rules and made sure this dude paid me every part of the money for the project through the website. I simply saw this project and placed a bid. I didn't even notice it was a Nigerian who posted the project. Freelancer.com's view: I am a Nigerian dealing with a Nigerian so its impractical for me to have collected all the money through freelancer.com when I coulda just asked the user to pay me the money directly. How is this pathetic?: Freelancer.com says obeying their rules under any circumstances could be "impractical". I'm just dropping this for the OP so you don't waste time migrating to freelancer.com as you have be bounced from elance.com. My reply to them: ====== Hello, Permit me to express my utter disappointment in freelancer.com for this statement you have made on behalf of freelancer.com: ========= To set your expectations correctly, if you're transacting with a user that is located in the same area as you are, this gives us the impression that you're either generating feedbacks or doing money exchange which are prohibited in our site. Also this action is very impractical since you will have to pay for fees and commissions whereas you can just hand over the project to him and pay instantly ========= Its interesting to note that its now a crime to be honest and follow the rules. I didn't know following the written rules on freelancer.com could also mean breaking the rules. Or how else am I to take your explanation please? Would you do this if it was 2 Indians? or 2 Americans? I really doubt so. But now its 2 Nigerians... so we can be treated as lesser people with no intelligence. I do not know the said user of this project outside this place and I won't waste time in any argument about this. Anything you want to do with the payment is your choice, it won't take away my dignity. I didn't open my freelancer account 2 months ago, I have had my account since 2007 before some present employers of freelancer.com even knew freelancer.com existed. For my Paypal account, you can please remove anything having to do with my Paypal account from my Freelancer account. I have lost faith in this process really, its a shame. ========== |
Please just leave this guy alone, pick the pieces up and move on. |
If your server is running on WHM, go to the SSL section amongt the links on the left of your panel and generate a request. Note that you will need to have a dedicated IP assigned to the domain you are creating this kind of SSL cert for. |
sexy glow: B.Sc in Criminology that's so nice.Outside this country we would expect one of their cliches to be: "to catch a thief you have to think like a thief". The equivalent of that cliche in the Dutse Uni may likely be: "to catch a thief, you have to be a thief or follow them as friends on twitter!" Just saying... |
SuyaEater: AC Wey i dey take for granted here na big deal in naija...chei na wa ooo...its like generator being a big deal in naija but here its uselessOk Back to something serious and "unsilly" ... the topic: Those ACs, bad choice. Short-lived show-off. Fans, good choice. Fans are easily maintainable and are less likely to be vandalized. |
Nolyj one question in my head now is the article writers you pay, what agreement do you have with them about the articles they write for you? Who has the copyright to the articles they write for you? Although its highly unlikely but this may be a case of the same content writer being paid to write "unique" articles for both sites. |
If you can make a very good case with no holes, you can contact the host service provider of the offending site. The host service provider in this case is Namecheap.com and they have a good support system. Next you can search Google for reputable Lawyers and legal bodies who deal with DMCA issues and can issue a DMCA take down. |
Billyonaire: Nairaland has so many mad people!A committee will look into your assertion shortly. |
Peterson1993: The most hopeless ISP in Nigeria!Your statement is baseless, you may want to take out any personal issues you have with Etisalat with them directly. My jobs require I am online 24 hours everyday by whatever means. I use MTN's 3000/mo full BIS on my Blackberry for push emails, Etisalat on my Galaxy for the same push emails and internet, Zain as a backup. I have been with this setup for over a year and Etisalat has been the most stable connection. Etisalat is down now, yes... but this is just a DNS resolution problem. I am using the same Etisalat connection for GMail and other things but I am using one of my servers as a proxy (VPN) so I am not experiencing the problem they are having. Don't rubbish people's businesses if you haven't had a first hand experience of their services. It doesn't make you look good. If Etisalat is so bad for you, you can't blame them for your renting an apartment in the bush, at the fringes of Etisalat's coverage area and I won't have to react to your statement if it was better put... "The most hopeless ISP in my bush". |
As far as I know, some Etisalat connections could no longer connect to Gmail or any of Google's services from about 4:30 PM. Situation is still same now. Google is not down, this is more like an ISP (Etisalat) DNS resolution problem. |
