The third picture is certainly of a different plane from the first and second pictures. Different woodgrain finish, different GPS nav monitors... This story is filled with too many irregularities for it to be taken seriously. The fact that it made the Nairaland homepage is enough reason for me to know its the normal homepage trash... maybe we should call it the Nairaland Hometrash courtesy of the hardworking moderators. ![]() |
Male or female, if you were born poor... its no fault of yours. If you get married and are still poor then you dey crase. ![]() |
Dual Core: Often times the reasons for attacks in a public statement are more of a damage control measure than an honest explanation of the cause.Very true. . |
oyb: fake geekHehehehe, seriously I cannot deny my geekery but I have had to break some geek codes. I am mostly out with tucked in shirts, ties and shoes (Redwings Worx) as against the shorts and sandals (Timberland) geeky look I am supposed to be on. I swim almost everyday and hate video games My car has no dents and I don't drive like its Gran Turismo. ![]() As long as I still spend 20 hours a day behind computers and gadgets, i'm still a real geek joor. |
Slim ties and body-fitted suits. Works well for my 6'4"* frame. Only problem is: I always have to say no to the "are you a banker" questions. ![]() What I can't do is put on a short fat tie. . . that's so village'eous. *could be 6'3" some times |
ActiveMan: that is the problem with general script.Yea opensource scripts are more vulnerable to attacks. This attack however was not made on the WHMCS script but on its main site (which may be running a tweaked/custom version of the script). |
I want to assume you have cPanel as your site's control panel. If that's correct, check this tutorial here: http://www.everymanhosting.com/cpanel-tutorials/create-redirects-cpanel.php If its not clear, just Google your way through or come here and ask questions. |
This is as much information as I know: http://blog.whmcs.com/?t=47644 Could be worse. #damage_control |
First option: Keep the files in their present location (the sub-directory) and create a redirection from your control panel. Redirect all traffic from the domain (www) to the subdomain. Little or no side effects will be experienced. Second option: Go into your file manager or use an FTP client (e.g Filezilla) and select all the content of the sub-folder (files and folders) and move to root directory (www or public_html). Side effects you will experience depend largely on how your script has been coded. If you have hard-coded references to objects (e.g images, fonts etc) using absolute paths (e.g http://mydomain.com/sub/images/yam.jpg) then you will have to go back and re-hard-code (lol) all those links to reflect the change (e.g http://mydomain.com/images/yam.jpg). If you have added a "site_url" variable in your scripts config file (for instance), then you need to go and change the site_url variable to reflect the new path. Basically a few (or a lot of) things may break with this second option but its the better option. Before trying anything please have a sane backup of your script. |
Nice concept, could use a much better design. Stick to the development and hire a graphics designer to help with your layout. Bottom line for me: your concept is good, your development may be good (I didn't check), your layout is not good (and I am not surprised, if you are the developer...developers are not designers). |
...and the site still had to suck at its user experience, usability and bandwidth usage. Weldone, Sis. |
I saw it too and just passed it off for being caught off guard. It coulda been anyone. We've all picked our noses in public at one point in time or the other, only that we were not "caught" ![]() |
bros12345: anyone sayin there are variations of the same service should ask why in us we have 100s of companies renderin one service. guys carry goYou are a prisoner of your perceived limitations. US is not a role model for my thought process. If US refuses to think outside the box, that's US not me. What makes you stand out in life is doing something not necessarily doing something that hasn't been done before but doing something everyone is doing but with a twist no one has done. [s]@Lojik, I hope you got the SMS as expected. I will be on messenger also.[/s] Edit: Just checked SPAM and saw the mail there. Gmail sucks ![]() |
bakenda: That is a very good idea, but wouldn't it require theIt will require a lot. Impossible is nothing. |
Disappointing to see everybody coming up with variations of the exact same thing. Come up with a payment gateway that will accept phone recharge cards and I will consider it seriously. |

From what I understand: 1. This is not a fulltime job. 2. You get paid as a Freelancer (per project). pc guru: ^ these days i work with people rather than for people, nothing beats the life of freelance except where job security matters,Yea freelancing is so much fun, so much money, too many jobs (and you have to turn down a few). Its really fun to work with some clients who are actually Project Managers serving as the connection between the main client and the developer. |

I do not think this has anything to do with the opening and closing of your browser. I notice sometimes I am not logged in but I haven't been so interested in the whole process to know exactly when it happens. I can say it has nothing to do with closing your browser because I just did and reopened and I'm still logged in. |
mavintick: Dude, not all registrar charge 200-300 usd for renewal within redemption period and according to @seton he is still within the 90 days in which netfirms do retain domains that are not renewed. like i said have been using netfirms for years before we became a sub-registrar ourself so i know those guys like the back of my hand in 90 days exactly that domain will be released. My humble appeal to everyone on this forum. When you are quoting my posts please do so in its entirety as I make posts that are mostly broken down into paragraphs that are interlinked. You pick out a paragraph in the middle of my post and dwell on wrongly when an excerpt from my first paragraph clearly states the following? Dual Core: When your domain is about to expire some registrarsTo be very specific, Netfirms charges 135 USD + the amount of the renewal, to get your domain back from a registrar within the redemption period. So if you know them as much as you claim you do I don't see why you will say what you have said above. I am not here to talk about Netfirms alone, I am here to share a general experience. |
When your domain is about to expire some registrar's renew it for an additional year hoping you will renew within the renewal period and if you don't renew it within the renewal period they hope you will renew it within the redemption period. Renewal within the renewal period attracts no added fee. Renewal during the redemption period attracts a renewal fee of about 200-300 USD. In the case of domains who operate as I have stated above, there is nothing like a releasing of that domain. As far as ICANN is concerned the domain is actively running. You should only be waiting for a domain to be released within 3 months from its expiry date and its expiry date is not what your registrar tell you in your domain management panel. The expiry date is what you see on the public WHOIS record of the domain. Domains are usually released about a couple of months after its expiry. |

spikes C: For those voting for the browser, i suggest a plugin for every browser that can correct all browser compatibility issueson the installed browser.<humour>I promise you Internet Explorer will not be compatible with the compatibility plugin </humour>lordZOUGA: we are saying different things... I thought the tree am cutting is Nigeria's bad international image..Ok, I now see where we went different ways in our line of thinking. |
lordZOUGA: if you want to cut a tree, you will most definitely need a knife. Relate it to your question and understand..What tree needs to be cut that hasn't already been cut by Mozilla, Chrome and the rest? Provide a REAL solution with the intent of solving a REAL problem and it will promote those behind it and its country. A web browser is not a REAL problem in your case, the REAL problem I see is how to promote Nigeria and the top 20 REAL solutions to that problem will not feature creating an internet browser. An internet browser sounds more like a classwork or school take-home assignment. yamakuza: i was going to suggest something similar to 4.I was bored one day in dense traffic and started writing something like an agregator for my personal use in port harcourt and lagos. All it does is gather the tweets from those hardworking traffic tweeters. Here: http://sawyerrken.net/traffic/ Nothing fancy, just for personal use. |

lordZOUGA: by browser I meant an internet browser. What's the idea behind creating a solution for a problem that does not exist? Like we don't have enough browser-compatibility headaches to deal with already? I am actually expecting a defense/answer for the first question...the second question was thrown in for sarcasm, no answer required. |
The following will ease life in Nigeria: 1. A Nigerian equivalent of gumtree (I have piles of gadgets I no longer need but may be useful to others). 2. A freelancing web application to act as a medium between the an employer and a service provider. 3. An automated payment gateway that accepts MTN/GLO/Zain/Etisalat recharge cards as a mode of payment. 4. An online nationwide traffic report system. I am not telling you WOW ideas, I am just telling you things I personally wish were available in Nigeria. |
