afam4eva: What exactly was activated? is it the domain or hosting or both. I noticed that Domain propagation does not apply for some domain registrars while some other take more than 24 hours to propagate.Domain propagation does not really hold for brand new domains that hasn't been accessed by anybody. Its a simple trick I have come to understand over the years. When you first register a domain, it propagates almost immediately and locks down to its present DNS settings. So if you register www.example.com with the nameservers (ns1.internetvia.net and ns2.internetvisa.net) added during registration... it gets live almost immediately. However if you register www.example.com and allowe the domain to point to some default nameservers (ns1.registrar.com and ns2.registra.com) and then go on to check www.example.com in your browser... it will work but it will be pointed to the default nameservers for the registrar. If you go on to change it to ns1.internetvisa.net and ns2.internetvisa.net... now this is where the laws of propagation come in. You have to wait for the new change to be picked across ISPs. Could take anything from 12 hours to 48 hours.... you know the drill sir ![]() So bottomline: Always add the permanent nameservers of a domain during registration and never check a newly registered domain until you point it to its permanent nameservers. |
that is what they call "Instant Activation", abi what is that word again?
Actually the domains you listed above were not activated instantly so it cant be said to be instant activation. Instant activation applies only to orders that are placed and paid for online using the payment gateway. In such cases the customer get's his order activated and ready to use few seconds after a successful payment using his credit/debit cards. In the case of the domains you have listed above, payment was technically made online (through GTB internet banking) but we still had to manually confirm payment and manually activate your order on confirmation of payment. The whole process from order to confirmation of payment to activation took about an hour. It could take longer for those who go to the bank to make physical deposits in the bank account. As we know, such deposits are not posted to the account immediately and we always have to confirm a deposit before an order is activated. While we can't call yours instant activation we can churn up a name for it, say "quick activation" or something of that nature. ![]() |
Thanks Netghost for the honest review. We will work on this. I don't know your account with TruDigits but I will recommend you use support tickets when making complaints as against sending mails to the support email. Some times some mails sent to support go to the spam box and may not be seen immediately. Thanks again, the points you have raised have been noted. |
Javanian: @Dual core does trudigits do JSP hosting??At the moment this is not available. In the near future we are looking at extending services to cater to Coldfusion and Java. |
OliverBrain: made up my mind, an gonna use trudigit. Here's the link again sir http://www.trudigits.com Just so there's no confusion ![]() OliverBrain: money is not d issue pal, service mattersThanks for your understanding. We would rather stay affordable and have just 10 legitimate clients than go ridiculously cheap and become the haven to a million phishing/scam sites. We appreciate your business! |
ActiveMan: That one na die oh..The automatic backups run as a cron job and yea you can cancel all auto backups from the interface. You cannot run a manual backup from the WHM interface but you can run a backup if you log into the server as root and run a single command for the manual backup. The first time you run a manual backup it may take a while to complete depending on the size and number of accounts so its best for you to run the command in a screen. To do this, run the following commands: install the screen utility if not already present #yum install screen to start a screen, give the screen any memorable name like "backup" #screen -S backup now you can run the manual backup and close the terminal. You can always log back into the SSH terminal and see whts up in the screen using: #screen -dr backup I am assuming you have root access and are running on CentOS. |
Thanks guys for your participation. Don't derail the thread please. Take the template design talk somewhere more fitting (if it hasn't ended), I am hoping to get constructive ideas from customers of TruDigits to make them even happier people. I won't want to miss any ideas from these customers while sifting through the derailing posts of some others. Thanks to those who have placed orders using the promotional codes. Its my hope that in the years ahead you will have your own happy stories to write about TruDigits. |
Yeap, you control it from your WHM. Its got its own interface and performs incremental backups daily, weekly, monthly...depending on what you set. You can restore accounts individually. Restore types include: full restore, email only restore, database only restore, files only restore. Its very easy to use. Its backs up to a remote server and uses little memory footprints. Disadvantage: 1. Its not FREE, lol.... the cost is really nothing though considering its lifesaving role. 2. An attacker that is good enough to get into your main server may just be good enough to attack the backup server because you have to provide access to the remote backup server from within the WHM using public SSH keys. A more fitting solution will be for the backup server to be the one holding all the authentication in the whole handshake thing. 3. There is no multiple backup retention. So if you set daily backups to run by 11:30PM and an attacker punches your server at 11:20PM and overwrites many files....cpremote will innocently backup the hacked accounts by 11:30PM overwriting the clean backup. That's a pretty sick situation to be in. |
1. cPRemote 2. R1Soft You can read more about them via Google. I have more experience with cpremote so you can ask any questions you want on it. Note that it works best with WHM/cPanel. |
I am patiently waiting to try out this version on a test server before I say anything. The Safemode bit in the whole thing is capable of causing panic but I wont think about it much until I actually test to confirm my fears. |
Frosti: The only complaint i had with them was their Aratta Seo service, it messed up my custom robots.txt and sitemap files with its auto gibberish. Had to switch it off totally.Do you mean there are bad side effects to the Aratta cPanel bundle? I have only seen a couple of reviews about it. Timileyin: wat an advertising strategyYes, we paid every customer that has made a review here. We actually paid ALL our customers! What did we pay them with? Not money.... we paid them with years of outstanding service (that keeps getting better through their contributions and suggestions) and we will continue to pay them for as long as they are with us (more like a lifetime if you ask me). You are welcome to TruDigits and we promise to pay you with the same. Its a win-win situation. Everyone goes to sleep happy, even the servers are happy to be owned and used by TruDigits. Thanks for the reviews and the points we need to improve. I have noted them and they will be considered one by one. ![]() My notepad is still open so more suggestions will be appreciated. |
Okay, the changelog for 5.4.0 clears that: Removed from PHP, and generates a fatal E_CORE_ERROR level error when enabled. |
Hmmm, Safemode. One thing isn't clear. Safe mode is no longer supported. Any applications that rely on safe mode may need adjustment, in terms of security.Does this mean this feature will be turned Off or turned On permanently. |

naijacampu: Thanks Pals for the tread, will like to move my website to the VPSThanks for your interest. Feel free to drop us a note at support@trudigits.com. We ill handle the seamless transfer of your sites to the VPS once it is provisioned. @Dhtml, we don't have to reply to every post. Competition is a good thing. It makes all of us better individuals and better service providers. Let the competitors be...it doesn't have to bother you that they say just anything to get noticed. Just ignore please to avoid bitter exchanges. I don't think I need to prove or disprove anything here to any one. #fairplay. |

ACM10: Who iz the Aviation Minister? Nigerianz are so good at spreadin blame. If a football team performs terribly, who takes the blame? The roundness of the ball... made by Nike, I presume. |
Dear Customers, Thank you for your business, your trust and your understanding. Doing business with you all is a constant thing of Joy. TruDigits will keep getting better!Let me respond to a few posts above.
Is this an ad for Trudigits. Mr moderator can your review my products/services on NL frontpage too. How will I go about it .Back to the topic. Most of these Naija hosts are resellers. So no matter how good, they can't be better than those who owns the server. That said, some of our hosts run their own server (or so I think). My verdict, if its a small project, use proudly naija, if its a global project, use international standard. Hostgator, Siteground, iPage, fatcow or maybe gomummy (godaddy)Just changing host aint so good, if you're busy.
This thread is not a paid advert of any sort. TruDigits isn't a "reseller host". TruDigits owns and admins all its servers and has them housed in two of Hetzner's (Germany) datacenters. You are welcome to TruDigits and we will handle all transfers from your present host to TruDigits seamlessly and with no downtimes from our end. Leorichy: can someone adverstise and even promote a site like this? And d person says he or she does not have a link to the site, either the person is the owner or....Happy customers = happy service providers = happy servers = good reviews. suneepet1: Tuedigit is a good webhosting so far but there is a limitation to there services compared to hostove.com that gives all it hosting package unlimited.i think hostove.com is simply the best for now. What you call a limitation is what we call transparency. Personally I am yet to see Seagate, Western Digital, Toshiba (and the rest) make Hard disks with unlimited storage capacity. Until we start seeing hardrives with unlimited storage capacity in the market that are tested and proven, TruDigits will NEVER offer webhosting plans with unlimited storage space and hide under the guise of some phony terms of service. We are too decent and transparent for rough play. What you see is what you get. Feel free to read more on this here: http://trudigits.com/wiki/index.php?title=Unlimited_hosting soki2ng: Forget say Mr. DC na my Paddy-Man.. i'll always be grateful for how instrumental Trudigits has been to the success of my Online enterprise.Thank you very much Soki. The points you have raised have been noted and will be worked upon. I implore other customers to state things they would like to see that are not already in the TD offer. Thanks everyone for your time to contribute to the thread. Thanks to Nairaland too for making this hit the homepage (don't start, I know I whine a lot about the homepage articles ) |
Timileyin: I can make 500K with 24hours,You forget you can also lose 5,000,000 in 2 hours when something goes wrong... and things are more likely to go wrong in Auto business in this country than they are to go wrong in web development. Its human nature to always look at the good side of projections and hopes. However it won't hurt to add a touch of reality to your speculations. |
Downtimes could mean anything to a client: from a full server crash to a firewall IP block on a user's IP as a result of some security breach or rule trigger. |
Happy VIN checking. ![]() ======= Note: Internal memos are not visible to normal members. Internal Memo: This is a homepage material. Topic: He quit programming to sell motto. You can add a question mark at the end as usual to show your neutrality. ======= |

Putting this on the homepage is foolish. What message is being passed? That there is a problem with GTBank? GTBank Naira Mastercard works on Namecheap.com and that is period! Namecheap has a bug on its saved credit cards feature. Don't rely on it, it will fail. Always key in full details of your card whenever you want to make a payment. If the card is already saved, don't just key in the 3-digits security code and proceed. Click "Edit" when the credit card page open, key in the 3-digit security code and proceed. If for some reason it didn't work for you, retry it at a later time. Hostgator was hacked and it didn't make the homepage, this did. How foolish. Much ado over nothing. |
I use my gtb mastercard several times a workin day on namecheap for domain registration and i have had no ossues with it. you dony need the activation code with namecheap. i did not even need to send them details of the card on my firat use. Retry the card at a later time to see if it works. Just note that 3 consecutive credit card failures on namecheqp will lead to an account lock. |
babestella: Airlines should run brand new aircraft, this is human lives we are talking about. If they don't have enough money for brand new, then let FG invest in them so they can be able to buy brand new aircraft, spread repayment over a period of time. This is gross, that we even have aircraft that has lived for more than 40 years still flying our airspace and we say we have a minister of aviation, and a director generalPlease be realistic and don't let the sentiments of the plane crash cloud your thinking. |

remoranger: @Dual Core..pls what hosting company did you migrate to and how is their service like? Thanks. May also need assistance with domain migration.I started TruDigits in my basement in 2007, went public in 2008, incorporated in 2010 and still going strong with a small dedicated crew. We have had our own share of downtimes (on some servers), about 3 downtimes in the last 4 years with a total outage of about 18 hours. These downtimes were experienced on the shared hosting plans (the reason for my first comment). Those on the VPS plans have had no issues. I am not really a fan of the 100% uptime lies. Webservers crash every hour around the world. What makes a webhost strong is the ability to contain and control damage, keeping those affected fully aware of the situation at any point. TruDigits.com If you want a recommendation outside NIgeria, I will recommend WebhostingBuzz.com. They are very good and I built my business model based on theirs and its worked so well and my clients are happy ![]() |
You don't need anyone to open your paypal account. The moment you log into paypal with a Nigerian IP you have woken up a sleeping dog. You can create and verify your paypal account yourself. Google it, there are tons of articles out there. You can post any of the articles/guides you see and I can let you know if the process outlined there is clean. |
In a shared hosting environment, the more the users (domains) on a server the greater the chances of something going utterly wrong somewhere if not monitored. If you were having good service from them before now its possible they have started overselling or have run out of staff to handle support nicely. I have had a family member's account transfered from them after years of relationship. Similar story, Jude screwed up years of good relationship stating policies. I like to deal with tech support people who behave like the humans that they are, not like stereotypes and robots who don't take a crap in the toilet. |

I drive for 3 people. Me, the person in front and the person behind. At a T-Junction the dude at the back may be indicating left and following me bumper to bumper thinking I am one freak who doesn't know how to use indicators to show I am also going left... I use the hazard to show him i am going straight so he should space out and make his left turn before he buys market. I also use the hazard and headlights when going across the T-Junction and I see the guy coming from the opposite end is making a right/left turn that will cut across my straight line of movement. I use it to tell him he shouldn't make that turn cuz he will buy market. Those are my non-standard use of the hazard lights. |
