Unlimited hosting means they will upgrade their resources as the demand increase with no additional cost to you.
Does that even sound sensible to you from a consumer's point of view? You think webhosts are charity organisations? Where did you come up with this idea? Are you confusing "unlimited" hosting with cloud hosting? It won't even be a correct notion if this is the case. |
Lordemma: hello, shorxynla: Mr emma. Thanks for advertising your business. We know you are the owner of gurushot, so no need to camouflag. What is the camouflage? |
Post the HTML part of your contact form. Meanwhile here's my review of your code. What's the essence of this: $username = $_POST['Name']; $email = $_POST['Email']; $message = $_POST['Message']; $to = "setin@yahoo.com"; $subject = "Contact Us"; $email = $_REQUEST['Email'] ; $message = $_REQUEST['Message'] ; You define a variable twice. This is not wrong but useless in this context and it may be part of your problem(s). Clean this up. I cant do the cleaning for you without the HTML. ============ What is the essence of this? header("Location: contactus.php" ;before this? $sent = mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers) ; This may be the major part of your problem. You are redirecting the flow to a different location before it executes the mail function. That header() line should be removed from where it is and placed inside the if($sent){} block. Post your html as requested earlier and you will get a fix for your code. Not the entire html, just place all within the <form></form> tags. |

Drop the names of those you miss here, they may be very active members or contributors: Maybe we can get them to come back if they knew we missed 'em I'll start: Uspry: her tutorials and reviews Quadrillio: he disowned web dev for mobile dev ![]() Omni: Disconnected from this place ever since he resigned his mod duties ![]() Lanbaba: he always had questions to ask and it was a pleasure answering. NaijaFan: My long lost Nairaland twin (who chose to live and die for coldfusion). We still get to talk almost everyday off this place. Hmmm there are more but I cant remember. These guys should come back somehow. People I won't miss if they go: Seun: ...for the safety of my Nairaland lifespan I wont talk further. |
Call them back and tell them you are not marrying the babe again. Make a backup of your site before making the call and continue refreshing your site for some hours after the call. |
databoy247: Talking about web developers and money making. I have always nursed the idea of majority of us coming together (even if its not done in other countries, it can be done here in Nigeria) and kinda setting up a union. We hold a developers conference, were a decision can be reached on maybe setting up a body that regulates the web developers business. I believe with this, activities will be co-ordinated and proper records can be kept. Now, with this it will be easier to create a freelance web portal where all webmasters can be registered. Possible clients (around the world) can easily seek out freelancers from the portal and in no time Nigerian web developers will be "occupied". This freelance portal will be controlled by the registered regulatory body and if this happens, in no time, Nigerians will be known across the globe as a center for web development. Trust me, we do have some great developers and programmers.A conference of Joomla and Drupal installers, you mean? ![]() Nice idea you have brought up for the web developers though. This board alone does not have up to 10 web developers. |
Call your village people and tell them you are ready to marry that papa Ngozi's daughter that they said you must marry. Really, we shouldn't screw with our village people, they always catch up with us somehow ![]() |
Thanks Yawa, that's noted .But using <br>'s na breakitis naw... ![]() I get the point. Thanks. |
I don't know how applicable this may be to your case but a common scenario where this can happen is where you pull a script from its location on the internet and load it on your localserver (localhost). The script's config may still have its "path" variable pointing to the online path and the database config may still be pointing to the online database where the hostname of the database is given as the IP address to the database server. If this is similar to your case then make sure all references to paths and DBs are pointing to your local server. If those suggestions don't work, your village people don finally locate you. |
You don't need to have an existing account with Zenith. The process I used some 2 or 3 years ago was to go to their website and fill the websurfer card form there. Then I went to the branch I chose on the form with my Intl. Passport and 125 USD. The card was issued same day and it was activated within 48 hours with a balance of 100 USD. The card's validity is for a year, at its expiry it will be automatically renewed for one more year if your card balance is up to 20USD. The new Security and expiry date will be mailed to you. The credit card number does not change. Note that for each reloading you are charged 5 USD. So if you reload 100 USD the next time you should be getting 95 USD. You can also look at UBA's reloadable card ...I think the name is Africard. I have not used it (and don't intend to, I am a loyal customer) but people who have used it say it works well. The advantage it has over the websurfer card is that you can reload it with the Naira currency. Zenith's websurfer cannot be reloaded with Naira so you have to go and change to USD first. |

By default, the wamp installation folder is installed on the OS partition which in most cases is drive C:. So the wamp folder you are to delete is at C:\wamp |
Your final cost depends on how many insiders (if any) are on your payroll. Factor those in too. Please remember to add webhosting too (VPS o!). |
Provide details of what you have done exactly. Are you running a Linux server or this is WAMP/XAMP etc on Windows? Suggestion that has proven to work for some: Go to the my.ini file and change the setting for mysql socket = "MySQL" to "/tmp/mysql.sock", go over to php.ini and do the same change. |
I can't give you the template I use because its unique and it wont be nice for an employer to see 2 proposals looking so alike. The link I posted above contains a template. In my experience employers like a very detailed template that shows them why they will be making a big mistake if they don't hire you for the job. On several occasions employers reply my proposals thanking me for the detailed nature of the proposal and its breakdown. So dont write a proposal saying... I can get this job done for you, see www.example.com where I did something similar. Thanks. That won't always work. |
Liberty reserve is more secure than Alertpay and Paypal. I can send Paypal to anyone as long as I am logged into my Paypal account. In liberty reserve you still require a Master Code to make a transfer. |
bigx: Or in the Alternative, Install the PHP module Zip in the server by recompiling PHP and Apache in the server, then enable error_reporting() in the server by enabling the same in the PHP.ini file.Hello Bigx, thanks ![]() Actually the problem is now known and there is a server config solution and a coding solution. I cannot approve of the server solution as it has negative security implications to all users of the servers where the solution is implemented. Version 3 of the plugin as said by its owners takes care of the solution from the coding. |
Bigdreams: Yes, I do make use of Afrisoft's Joomla plugin. The plugin works well but I have issues whenever I insert their domain license key. Presently, I don't know if the challenge is from your end or their's. It's really giving me a tough time as I have to explain this to clients some of who are not technically savvy thus delaying the launch of their sites. I will be glad if you can help me look into this issue and resolve once and for all. Thanks, Its exactly the same problem the other client has when using the plugin. The script breaks when he enters the license key. I will contact Leke later today to know if its something they can fix from their end or we have to change some configurations on our servers. In the interim, the workaround to this will be to directly insert the license key into the database using a tool like PHPMyAdmin, found in your cPanel Control Panel. A notification will be sent out to all clients once this is fixed. Thanks again. ========= Update: I talked with Leke and there's good news for TruDigits clients who rely on Afrisoft Plugin ![]() Well the problem: The present version of the plugin uses a php function that is turned off on all TruDigits servers (mandatory on Shared servers) so it breaks the script when that function is called. That function is turned off as part of the security protocols on all TD servers. The Fix: Afrisoft has already taken care of this in the next version of the plugin by creating diversions to other functions if that function is disabled (function_exists()). I have no details as to this new version but I am sure it will be released pretty soon. Let's exercise some patience. ![]() |
afam4eva: It's up now.Confirmed thanks ![]() |
I dont know for how long this has been down but 2 days ago I wanted some information and went to the site and couldn't get through to it, I was getting "Internal Server Error" messages. Well no biggy, just some server resource or httaccess issues (I thought). I checked the site today and its (still) down. Its not a sin to go down but staying down for more than a day with no official statement as to what's going on.... ![]() Link: www.etisalat.com.ng ======= IP address: 194.170.160.38 Host name: etisalat.com.ng Alias: etisalat.com.ng 194.170.160.38 is from United Arab Emirates(AE) in region Middle East TraceRoute to 194.170.160.38 [etisalat.com.ng] Hop (ms) (ms) (ms) IP Address Host name 1 3 0 0 206.123.64.42 - 2 0 0 0 64.124.196.225 xe-4-2-0.er2.dfw2.us.above.net 3 0 0 0 64.125.30.98 xe-3-1-0.cr2.dfw2.us.above.net 4 5 5 5 64.125.26.134 xe-1-2-0.cr2.iah1.us.above.net 5 32 32 32 64.125.30.54 xe-3-1-0.cr2.dca2.us.above.net 6 32 33 32 64.125.28.249 xe-1-0-0.cr1.dca2.us.above.net 7 36 36 37 64.125.26.102 xe-3-2-0.cr1.lga5.us.above.net 8 36 36 36 64.125.30.206 xe-0-2-1.er1.lga5.us.above.net 9 37 37 37 198.32.160.45 nyiix.emix.net.ae 10 232 248 231 195.229.0.81 - 11 230 230 229 195.229.1.98 - 12 Timed out Timed out Timed out - 13 Timed out Timed out Timed out - 14 269 232 232 194.170.0.226 - 15 232 232 232 195.229.240.84 - 16 Timed out Timed out Timed out - 17 Timed out Timed out Timed out - 18 Timed out Timed out Timed out - 19 Timed out Timed out Timed out - Trace aborted. ============== |
Where will the quality threads for that section come from? Its a nice idea to have such a section but it should come as a result of necessity. If we've been seeing all kinds of developer threads with howtos, hacks, bugs etc coming up in the Webmasters section...then we would really need to separate things. |
Bigdreams: Trudigits is truly a PROFESSIONAL webhosting company. Thanks, do you use the Afrisoft Joomla plugin? We have one of our resellers who says the plugin works normally but he has difficulties with it. Let me know please if that's what you use and if you had any issues. Also let me know what plan you are on: shared, reseller or VPS.
And so trudigits win the poll (as was expected). The results are very interesting. . . .trudigits completely floored whogohost (3rd place) smh This is not even a contest to start with in the first place, it was a walk-over, plain and simple. So people, start paying to get instant account activation, and good value for your money.
I thought the polls were to end on July the 3rd. We have never said we are the best and we don't need a poll to say that for us. We will strive to continue to provide better value for each customer's money. Its left to our clients to say we are good, better or best (those 3 words are relative and will differ across clients and individuals). We now have a notepad full of ideas to work with and implement within the next couple of weeks and months. More ideas are always appreciated, so keep them coming please. ![]() Thanks to all customers as you have been mostly objective and critical with your reviews not just telling us we are good or bad. You have told us why we are good, you have also told us where we could work on... I am more interested in the areas we can work on. Within the next couple of weeks and months these will be implemented. Yes Soki, including the affiliate programme. ![]() |
Some of una no well o. I dey use am play golf ni. Anyway thanks for the explanations, I understand some things better now. The next token will hopefully be my last replacement .Denzel that made a lot of sense. It didn't make much sense when the others said the token calls home whenever used. |
These tokens do their work but the hardware does not last. My first token didn't stay a year before i noticed a small crack on the screen which grew into a bigger crack and the ink spread accross the screen. I got a replacement and few weeks later i saw a small patch of ink (no cracks) which has since been growing at the center. Its almost halfway through the screen but I can manage to guess the obscured numbers most times so I am still using it. For my first token, I always had it with my keys. I guess that's how the crack came. The replacement token too, I had it with my keys until last week when I removed it. GTB cannot give us a token and expect us to keep it at our homes and bring it out of the drawer only when we need to make a transaction. I put my token with my keys because my keys are always with me and I could initiate any transfer anywhere! The token even has a provision for a key chain so it means the makers expect it to be affixed to a set of keys but these tokens are not rugged. They are not built for Nigerian mobility! Soon I will be replacing this second token and each replacement costs 3,500 Naira. Meanwhile I have decided to find out some time to generate as many token numbers as I can in an hour and save in a secure location on my handheld devices, because that ink that's spreading may just give way one day and cover the whole screen and it may be at a crucial moment. |
