Hello @the bolded
Financial requirements is 10points
ECOs will definitely use the correct dates to check on Oanda
Cheers
So you applied the day oanda rate started increasing and from your previous post, you were already short of like 300k. So means the ECO didn't use the rate of the day you applied 😎 Congratulations 🎉[/quote] |

Hello Congratulations Cheers Episte: Yes, as ur previous advice with you and duchess90, that I should top up my tuition fee. So I paid 650pounds that particular day. I mailed CAS admission officed about the top up fee paid, and immediately they updated my CAS. So that's the reason I met the financial requirements. Thank you guys, you are really amazing 👏.... |

Hello It isn't wrong to state your current living situation The NSF just indicates more time is needed to assess your application. Until you get a mail requesting for more information about your application, you shouldn't be too worried Cheers Serendipity01: Good evening, please I know we're busy but please can someone reply me, another person might learn from this too. Is it wrong to state that your kids don't stay with you? And is it also wrong to state that you're staying with your partner as a single mum while filling your visa application. Thank you |

Then I also intend submitting only reference letter from my current workplace. Is that okay or is it compulsory/necessary to still submit my employment letter? |

Hello Your evidence of maintenance can be in your account and same for your children Please note that your maintenance funds should be for your use in the UK Any other arrangements is deceit and will attract a 10year ban when caught Cheers Fadd2: Goodmorning to all the gurus in the house. Please is it okay for me to use my account as the dependent to run POF for me and the children. The initial plan was to use MA's account for all of us but due to the sharp increase of oanda rate we plan to start running another POF in my account. I hope this is safe?

The funds are not accessible to you and can't be used for your maintenance in the UK Unless your bank clarifies otherwise Cheers Boscojugunu: duchess chief chief I hail ooo Can I use investment certificate for POF.

Hello You can print on the 27th, print your statement till date 2. It's fine if there was no transaction Cheers Anuyimika: Hello I’m new here please.
I need an urgent advice concerning my application and Pof, my biometrics is on 28th of june
I did my UKvi application on 23rd of June My plan is to print Pof for 26th May -23rd June which is the maturity date but I couldn’t print it, so I plan printing it tomorrow before my biometric.
Can I print it on 27th of June and still date it for 26th May-23rd of June? Pls note that the statement will come with a printed date of 27th
Also, no transaction was made from fourteenth of June till date. Meaning no transaction on 23rd of june which is the maturity and application date.
Kindly advice. Cheers |

Hello 1. Individual application dates will be used 2. You could also cancel your dependant's application and proceed with yours 3. You will have to book a new biometric appointment Cheers 2rucool: Good day my people in the house, please I need your guidance on my UK student visa application, I submitted my application and Paid for Visa and IHS fee at about 10pm but when filling my spouse application, I found out that oanda rate has increased by the time I paid her Visa and IHS fee because her application was completed about 1:30am the next day. I have booked biometric for Tuesday but I'm not comfortable because of the increase in oanda rate. If my submission date is used for our application our POF should be fine but if the submission time for each application is considered then my wife's submission time would affect our POF negatively.
My question is should I cancel our application and wait for a refund or Write a cover letter to include a second statement of account that meets UKVI requirements to complement the increased in POF And finally,if I cancel my application and submit another one today, will I still be able to use the already booked biometric appointment for Tuesday |

Hello Thanks for adding your experience This is a public forum, people are free to choose whatever suits them Cheers Keemy88: @duchess90. You are correct and everyone should take this advice.
It is the naira balance on your POF that is converted to Pounds on oanda converter to determine if you meet or exceed the pounds equivalent.
I was not given CAS because the naira balance on my bank statement fell short and when I looked at the conversion report submitted to me, it was NGN to GBP that was converted.
Apparently, the naira has gained against the pounds in today's rate which is good for us all.
Cheers. |

Hello I have addressed this in detail in previous pages if you check In summary 1. Yes, the dependant should include in the consent letter what she is sponsoring towards for instance the MA is paying his fees whilst the dependant is sponsoring his maintainance etc 2. You might need to address why, or be prepared to address it should the ECO enquire At the end of the day it is the ECO's decision Cheers atesun: Please help out with insight.
Main Applicant POF will not be enough to apply for visa but Dependant started new PoF to use which is in excess. Can Main Applicant combine her POF with dependant POF to successfully get Visa.
Does dependant need to write a consent letter? |

Hello Again @thebolded is not true I know you might be hurting due to your recent refusal,it doesn't mean you should water down that office. Were you given admin rights? Use it Do you have evidence of professional misconduct? Raise a complaint Please don't water down that office . There are ECOs that put blood and sweat at their job. That's all..I'll stop now Cheers Atinukemi23: Contacting the home office in the past used to be FREE. Now you have to pay ? Why is that ? They basically DO NOT WANT YOU to contact them no matter what. Contacting them means you are telling them to HURRY, if you want to have your decision made faster then PAY for it. So with my above statement, is better you wait and let them decide in their own time or you keep calling to have it escalated, they record the number of times you call or send an email and that MAY or MAY NOT have your application decided quickly. In some exceptional circumstances when you have waited for months let say beyond the standard 8weeks - 12weeks and your category shouldn’t be beyond that then you can call and ask for the progress but not when you are still within a reasonable 15 - 20 working days. They are humans like us they do have bad days and happy days too. It may not always be the case! Take it Easy. |

Hello I didn't say ECOs don't make mistakes they do I spoke specifically on the scenarios you have painted and stand by my statement Speaking from a place of knowledge, No ECO will look at any application in those scenarios you have mentioned That's all Cheers Atinukemi23: If you have read so many refusal letters you will understand that some of them are very very lazy. Hence why lawyers go to court to challenge them and they WIN as some Rule of law was not applied correctly whilst making the decision.
Check previous post a family standard visitor (joint application ) the ECO said the wife has applied for a different category and which was not true as they all applied in the same category is the ECO blind ? Can another category fee be the same as standard visitor ?
Haven’t you seen instances where they grant one spouse and refuse another ? I know a lot of people glorify the ECOs as always very right but I am telling you majority are just recently trained and they make a big error they are classified as ECO but recently they employed a lot of glorified customer service workers who do the basic but when you all see the email you think it is the almighty ECO it is when they commit a big blunder the application is then passed to a more experienced ECO and they look into it. If you go to Croydon for biometrics and where a lot of illegal immigrants go to sign in then you will understand better.
Views expressed is mine. Thank you. |

Hello @Cashmadam It's the opposite Cheers Cashmadam: I don't claim to be an expert. Over the years, I have read a lot of UK visa rejection letters and the visa officers always quote: 1 Pound = whatever Naira eqivalent. So, I believe the correct way to calculate POF is GBP = NGN. That is what I've always done for my children -without any issues. I hope this helps. |

Hello Forex exchange principles for trading is different from meeting financial requirements for visa application For visa application the statement in other currencies will be converted to GPB using the Oanda exchange rate on the date of application. Simply put ECOs will use the NGN to GBP conversation. See link below and check section on money in other currencies https://www.gov.uk/guidance/financial-evidence-for-student-and-child-student-route-applicants#how-your-finance-requirement-is-worked-outI am unable to respond to other post on this, I hope this settles the argument Use the NGN to GBP conversion Cheers biosamak: @Giselle and duchess and other gurus in the house pls help us see to this matter which one is correct cos I myself am confused. Thanks anticipation
