It's interesting that you'd rather wait an extra 28days than pay more tuition to your Uni

Hello guys, Please can one wait for another one month after getting CAS before one applies for visa?
This is because POF became insufficient after getting the CAS because of rising OANDA rate, so a fresh POF will be needed to start counting for 28 days.

You can have both POF in either yours or her account. It's purely a personal decision

Remember your POF is for your use in the UK

In addition to pictures and your marriage certificate add other major evidence to show your marriage is substantial

Evidence like bills paid,joint account, investments or Government letters addressed to you both or that shows you live in same address etc

Pictures are minor evidence

I have one dependant and his IHS was paid 2 days ago but his visa fee is not yet paid. I stated in the application that he will be going with me. With this OANDA rate increase, I have added more money to my pof because that's d same account my dependant will use for his pof. Since my dependants visa fee has not been paid, I feel he will have to wait for another 28 days for the newly money I added because of OANDA increase to mature before he will go for his own biometrics.. Since I have already indicated that I will be traveling with him, is it allowed for me as the MA to do my biometrics since the OANDA rate as at when I paid my own visa and ihs fee was good and my dependant to wait more 28 to 29 days for the new additional money to mature

Combining statements are easier when it is the same person that owns both accounts

It starts to get tricky when combined accounts that belongs to different people are used even though they are spouses and parents


Whilst It is possible to do so,make it clear what bank statement covers what for the ECO to track. The consent letter should state what the dependant is covering/sponsoring and to an extent why ( Oanda exchange is not a reason) including reiterating that the MA has access to the funds and vice versa.


You may exclude the why but don't be surprised if the ECO requests the additional information later or maybe will not be bothered

In summary Yes you can

Please the MA is currently running POF (Started June 15) but with this new floating naira update, the funds may not even be enough for him.

I as the dependent will start my POF on Monday.

My Question is, say MA has 16Million in his account and that doesn't cover him eventually, can he also upload the dependent’s bank statement that covers his remaining balance? Ofcourse, Dependant will write the appropriate consent letter.

The ECO will refer to the Oanda rate on your application date which is the day you paid your visa and IHS

If you are unsure of what day it was log back to your application using your sign on details and download a copy of your visa application form. You should be able to see the date of application, you can then compare that with the rate on Oanda that day

Ignore some people,focus on your biometrics

I paid for my IHS and VISA fee last week Wednesday before this OANDA RATE INCREASE but I didn't upload my statement of account (POF). My biometrics appointment is on Monday 26th. As at the day I paid my IHS and VISA fee, the money in my account was enough for my POF .. My confusion now is that some people keeps saying that as long as biometrics has not been done, that the rise in OANDA will affect me while others say it's the rate at d day I paid my VISA fee that I should be judging with.. Please can someone enlighten me because I don't know which to believe again

It's okay, they aren't silly questions

You won't use their scanner and you can't send eCopy

With self service you have to scan the document and upload them yourself in the comfort of your home or office.

You must finish uploading all the necessary documents and submit them before going for your biometrics . If by any chance you omit any,you will have to take it to TLS to assist you and pay for the service there


It will make more sense when you get to that stage, I assume you haven't

If you select assisted service appointment then yes have to pay and TLS staff will assist you in uploading your documents during your biometrics. Please go with hard copies of your documents.

If you select self service then you upload your documents yourself

3. It should be fine if he decides to attend his biometrics after 28days. The cut off time frame is 240days after which he will need to start a new application. His IHS and Visa fees should still remain. He may have to however, upload updated versions of his financial document as it may be past the 31days mark to use it

Please I need an urgent advice. My bro has paid IHS fee and visa fee but yet to book an appointment date because of this new rate. He just found out today and saw that the pof won’t be enough for him and his wife. I adviced him to apply alone and start his wife pof, so that when she wants to apply for hers, she can use it, then use his also with a consent letter. The problem now is:

1) He said he filled ‘Yes’ when asked if his dependant is coming with him during the visa application.

2) His agent advised him to top up the amount to cover him and his wife and leave it for another 28 days.

Please does anybody have any other advice on how to go about this situation??. Will the ihs and visa fee paid already affect his appointment date if he decides to wait 28 days again??

The IHS and visa payment are made during your visa application.

2. You need to pay it online not at the bank. You will need a card for that, I am uncertain if naira cards can.

The minimum is 28days if you count from the 2nd to 28th it is 27days

It is always best to go above the minimum timeframe..Any date from the 1st week in July should be fine
