You restarted your count on the 27th June and paid visa and IHS on the 26th June.(You put the cart before the horse, very brave).

Go back to your application and check what date the exchange rate was on Oanda, compare that with the balance of your POF on the same day

If it didn't meet the required figure then that will be an automatic refusal for not meeting 10points on financial requirements

Please, i need some clarification. I have gotten admission, gotten my CAS from my school, done my TB test as well. I was building my POF, and halfway through, the naira devaluation happened, so i had to restart the 28 days count. I started counting my POF from the 27th of June, but i submitted my application (paid visa fee and IHS) on the 26th.. I hope i am on track.. or have i made a mistake? I am quite confused by the 28 days rule.
Please let me know if am on track, or if i should withdraw my application and restart a new application.

When you start your upload you will be told what type and size your documents should be

Regarding pictures,I would advise that you make a collage of them on a word document, use that opportunity to put a single line description of the photos (i.e who are in the photos,where it was taken etc) and upload the document itself not individual photos

Please regarding self upload service with TLS, do the documents have to be A4 paper size?

For example, I have pictures I would like to upload and they are regular image sizes on my computer.

Would I need to print as A4, Scan and upload? Or I can just upload the way the are.

Just to remind you, your POF is for your study in the UK, any other arrangement is deceit and will attract a 10year ban when caught

2.No your spouse should include it in her application focus solely on your study documents

3. Yes they can, you will need to ensure all the requirements are met,you need to provide your GWF no to them when you finish applying for yours

Dear Nairalanders, I have a quick question.


My wife and child will be applying for visa about one month after I get my decision.

1. Can I mention it on my application that I will be coming with them?

2. Will I need to include proof of wedding/relationship in my own application

3. The reason we are not all applying together is because we are awaiting their passport and funds and time is running out to continue waiting. If they are able to get their passport early enough, Can they start application while I am awaiting decision?

Note, my concern is because my initial POF will cover for only me and I don’t want NSF mail requesting for POF for the three of us.

Someone of about 48yrs old will be applying for a student visa early next week.

He started OND 2014 and graduated sept 2016
He start HND 2017 and graduated sept 2019.

As an igbo man he said he was working with someone, and after working with the person for 15yrs the person settled him (p.s: this person's business isn't registered as it's just this normal local spare part business) and the business is no longer in existence cos owner has passed. He invested the money he was settled with into same spare part business for a short while (he didn't register his business) until he meet his wife and they got married around 2012/2013 and the wife encouraged him to go to school and got him enrolled at Lagos State Polytechnic in the year 2014 for his OND and also proceeded to his HND.

He has been working with a company since 2017 till date. He will be applying for his visa early next week. He will be getting a reference letter and employment letter from this said company to cover study gap. But his fear now is what and what can he use to show proof of what he was doing before going for his OND in 2014 and graduating HND in 2019.

Not needed unless the ECO is interested in the seeing the source of funds

Until then keep your application straightforward.

Any additional documents should be ready just incase, if the dependant is self employed then your will need CAC documents

Hi everyone,

My POF has been ready since April, until the naira was floated and then it was no longer enough. So I needed to pay £5,000 extra tuition for my POF to be enough. I paid the £5,000 last week Wednesday and my CAS came out last week Friday.

So the £5,000 didn't reflect on my CAS.. But the school has given me an official receipt of all the payments I have made, including the £5,000. I have sent a mail to the school for ammendment.

Given that it took me almost 6 weeks to get my CAS, should I wait for the school to update my CAS, or can I go ahead and apply for visa by simply uploading my payment receipts? NB: I've paid £13,000 out of my £14,000 tuition. Would love to hear from you guys.

Yes you can carry out your normal transactions but it shouldn't go below the required amount.

It depends on what the additional documents are

Is this due to an NSF you got? Will the cover letter help the ECO understand what you have submitted? Or are the documents straightforward?

If Yes then submit one, if the documents are straightforward then you can skip a cover letter.

If you are responding to an NSF, ensure the body of your email lists the documents you have attached


2. If it is for a study gap, your CV is not compulsory

Good morning guru in the house. Have been on this admission stuff for months now and I finally received my CAS. It's time to process my VISA with my dependent.
This is my question that is very bothering me and worrisome.
The name on my NECO is Olaniyan Sile while other academic certificates is Olaniyan Sileola Festus. And I went to NECO office before I start this process but they said they can only correct misspelled letter in name but they can't remove or add letters to a name. Even though the school didn't asked for any documents like affidavit.
My question is should I include affidavit to my NECO certificate or I shouldn't or I should not even bother to submit my NECO certificate at all for my Visa application.
Please expert and traveling experience in the house should advise. This is affecting my daily activities.

It's okay for your dependant to apply after you if you don't have enough funds for your maintenance

If your Uni request for your evidence of maintenance send yours,if they come back to ask for your dependants, provide a cover letter explaining the decisions you have made based on funds and fluctuating exchange rate.

You will be given your CAS, don't be too worried

Please remember your POF is for your study in the UK

While POF was counting i have decided to use the pof alone and excluded my dependant from the deposited funds due to the hike in naira then I remembered I applied for admission as a single applicant I mailed the school to update the status which was successfully done with a reminder from the school that additionally to the funds i must have for the remaining tuition fee and my living costs, i must have sufficient funds for my dependant too, which is a minimum of £6120 per dependant. If I may ask would I be granted CAS without the dependant pof since she will be applying for va in another few months

Yes cas will be issued. You should have contacted the bank to help fund you and your dependant will pay the interest. That would have saved time

It depends on the ECO and the extent she/he is willing to check

People save for years before embarking on their studies, that may or may not be your case.

Anyway, if you do get an NSF which I doubt you will, your payslips, and any other evidence of funds plus a cover letter should be fine
