this is what u get for saying the truth in any corrupt system. the world is so dirty that the few who say the truth are seen as the sinners. why is barca at the center of every controversy yr in, yr out?
something is wrong somewhere. it takes the courage of such bold coaches as mourinho to say it out.
What exactly is bold about crying foul after yu've been beaten fairly on the pitch?  undecided undecided

if he made these statement after it happened to another club e.g the dodgy call against RVP then he would have sounded more credible and everyone would agree that he spoke the truth but not now that its just sounding like sour grapes at being deservedly beaten after a negative and strong arm approach to the game.

dodgy refereeing  decisions go against every club at some point or the other as we all know and FIFA itself acknowledges its not a perfect system. All you can do is point it out when it happens as any reasonable manager would but to start building up conspiracy theories is plain silly and to bring UNICEF into it is utterly despicable. I wasn't surprised as Mourinho has always lacked class.

Dodgy decisions go a lot for Manure against Arsenal in virtually every game but Arsene has never alleged that the FA is favouring Fergie.

I am not arguing for fun - not at all.

I've just exposed the warped mentality of some gooners here. They want to be 'right' above all else.

First they predict the team will perform woefully, when the team doesn't, they come up with a new reason to castigate the team. With due respect, Arsenal fans are masochists - even when their team does well, it's because the other team was bad, so there's nothing good in the win. undecided
Its the D&G brigade, they dovetail very well with DK who is a sadist. Its a very good working arrangement.  tongue

Willain would be good too, nice combo of pace and power. He showed us when we played them away. Gervinho has just been immense for Lille this season and Turan's record of Assists and Goals for both club and country is insane, he is the main man at Galatasaray. I still can't understand why no club has gone for him, I expect he has a ridiculously high price tag put on him by Gala.

I only want 1 or both of these guys:

1. Arda Turan
2. Gervinho

I no longer want Hazard, there are rumors that he is lazy, I don't want another Arshavin on our hands. Our  requirements are simple.

1. Pace in the final third
2. Proven ability to score and assist
3. A winning mentality
4. A decent workrate

I think DK asked me the same question last season and I said 2 years so I'll still stick with that meaning 1 more season.

In the grand scheme of things, a balance has to be found at some point which would involve some major spending except we somehow develop our own "Messi".

I'm not really talking about trophies, there is really no excuse for not winning one this season, I'm talking about moving to the next level from consistently being in the top 4 to being in the top 2 on a consistent basis.
I'm more disappointed this season about how we fell away in the league at the latter stages than how we lost in the Carling Cup, the better team does not always win a particular game but the quality of a team will definitely come out over a season.

Dani Alves cost 32m, David Villa cost 40m and Seydou Keita cost 14m while Mascherano cost 22m.
of those 4 only one of our recent purchases cost more than the least of them and that is Arshavin for about 16m.

@jencejyde

Astute analysis from someone who plays the game, I doff my cap. A friend of mine is if the opinion that apart from the general overall better quality and of course the alien they have playing for them grin grin, the major difference between Arsenal and Barca is our full backs. What Alves does for Barca is amazing, he keeps the right wing ticking when the wide forwards tuck in and so far no team has been able to use the space he leaves behind him.

The truth is that Arsene sees all these things but in all fairness what do you want the man to do? where is the money to go and change all those players you mention? I laugh when I hear people say things like "I'm not asking for a 50m signing" just enough to make us win. Look around people,  Andy Carroll cost 35m and I dare say, few managers out there get as much bang for the buck as Arsene, his track record is nigh impecabble in that regards, he has been trying to do just enough as y'all suggest (Arshavin, Vermaelen, Gallas and Koscielny) to name a few, it just hasn't been enough to get us over that line.

The club has basically opted for evolution rather than instant mutation. He has basically tried to convince this group of players that they are good enough but unfortunately some of them aren't while some have just not pulled their weight this season. The reason why people blame Arsene is because he will never say his team is not capable of winning something and I prefer such a coach to someone who gives up like Martin O'Neill of Aston Villa just because the board/owner are not giving him money. Arsene believes he can bring youth through but he needs time to achieve it and I'm willing to give him that time.

This season is a bit different though because after a long time, we had a squad that wasn't at all far off from the other teams at the top but we still somehow contrived to mess up so badly when success seemed a lot closer, that is why I know there will definitely be changes in the summer.

Until Arsenal like Barcelona is able to grow between 60 - 70 % of its first team internally then topping off the team with some mega quality signings, we'll suffer for a while. Has anyone noticed the difference in quality, mentality and attitude already between those who arrived into our youth system before their 17th birthday (Cesc, Wilshere, Sczcesny) and those who arrived post 18 like (Denilson and Diaby)? the younger players are, the easier it is to mould them.

Some of those who arrived older are not necessarily lacking in technical ability but may not have the mentality to adapt. A good example is Denilson and Wilshere, I've personally followed Wilshere's career since he was about 15 and it is amazing that the most withdrawn role he has played before this season is in the hole, he never played as a CM/DM at youth level but played mostly as ACM and RF but he has taken to it like duck to water this season and not looked out of place while Denilson is still finding it difficult to adapt to a DM role after 3 seasons in the top flight.

Strange, Welbeck's goals record at championship level wasn't impressive. in about 12 apps I think he scored only twice for Preston, though he was injury plagued. I actually thot he wasn't that good then cos JET got 5 from 12 then without even playing as a striker. His physique alone makes him more suited for the PL than Sturridge though.

@Debo

Make we leave board members boarded up in their boardroom jare, some players have shown their hand this season and must be shown the way out.

I would have even preferred playing real youth instead of what the likes of Almunia, Rosicky, Denilson, Arshavin, Eboue and Clichy served up this season. At least, if we were playing Vela and JET we could say they were young and growing but the whole reason for keeping all those experienced flops was to not put pressure on the upcoming players and to allow these ones who have been at it for some years now finally come good.

At the end of it all, 3 of them are out of the team without our even buying anyone yet while 2 of them have become bench warmers and don't seem disturbed by that while the 6th is only there because of his understudy's injury problems. These flops caused the wahala this season cos they could not even be depended upon to achieve results when the first teamers needed to be rested, we still had to bring Cesc in and play him unfit atimes just becos those other players could not be depended upon.

For sure Cesc has underperformed this season, even his stats bear that out but he can hide behind his unusually troublesome hammy this season, what exactly is the excuse for people like Rosicky and Arshavin?

Oun to be wu elenu lo le fi enu e so.  tongue tongue

This summer will be bloody at Arsenal, Arsene really believed this team had come of age but some of the players he counted on decided not to turn up, it is so bad that some of them are not even making the bench these days.

There might not be so many players coming in but there will definitely be a considerable number going out. I'm undecided if Monsieur Clichy is deserving of a new contract and let nobody come and tell us how Cesc will leave in the summer, if some club brings better money even he is not unsellable and he would do well to stop giving silly interviews twisted or not, he doesn't have to open his mouth at all.

The only unsellables at Arsenal presently are RVP, Wilshere, Nasri and Sagna, everyone else who survives the cull would do well to work hard over the summer and turn up with better performances next season and also learn to keep their mouth shut until after they've won something.

Everyone here knows that the 70m has not turned Chelsea's fortunes for good. We went out of form and regained form. 70m or not. After all, our 50m striker has not even scored a goal.
You'd better not rejoice too soon, even if money revives this season, your wahala remains in store for you and can only be prolonged so much with Roman's money but will surely come. You say its your form that has returned and maybe yu're right but do you know how many important goals David Luiz has scored for you since he joined? True that Jack has been exceptional for his age, but that award?? wouldn't vote him ahead of Nasri or Nani.
