olabukola:awwwwh aint yu the considerate one. Logic however tell us to beware of those who think they love you more than you love yourself. Jack so far has done well to heed that logic. Keep your good wishes to yourself. ![]() |
olabukola:and how exactly is that any business of yours? ![]() |
slimshay:After Jame Milner won the YPOTY last year I lost interest. The year Giggs won it also I would have expected Vidic to win it with all those 1 - 0 victories that gave Manure the title. Wilshere is going to be a great player but I've got to hold my hand up that he didn't deserve it this year and don't let me even start on Bale who was made a star by an Inter team that a geriatric Raul scored 3 goals against. Thank god Jack only recently signed a new long term contract and the boy seems to have a good head on his shoulder, he would have been holding us to ransom on his pay for a new contract by now. You can see how they build and hype their own only to mercilessly descend on them later. |
dayokanu:Ryo Miyaichi an 18 year old Arsenal youngster scored 2 goals for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie today Francis Coquelin a 19 year old Arsenal youngster scored a goal for Lorient in the French league 1 yesterday so what exactly is your point? ![]() |
What did the ref do wrong?
That was no penalty. No tackle, no control of the ball by the player, ball heading away from goal, 2 players collide and you give a penalty in extra time of extra time? what more ingredient do you need to name it a dodgy penalty? I have actually seen similar situations given as a foul on the defending player. |
@Debo Ref fumbled but Eboue was also quite silly, Eboue only needed to keep his position with the ball going away from goal, the ref was looking for it and Eboue gave it to him. Once again we've snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and that is the difference for us at present. We always find a way to throw things away. |
cantell:Maybe, but definitely not on the basis of his performance either as a 2nd in command or as the president. If we get more of the same, the future is indeed very bleak. |
hasyak:I tire jare, the only weird thing I see in this election is that power is really lopsided towards the North in this country. With the way the SW, SE and SS voted Jonathan in this election, if BB are able to pull a rabbit out of the hat and still somehow make this a contest, it will confirm that the North actually has the population advantage I've always protested against because for once, there is really no support for rigging by the ruling party in the north. |
reindeer:I'm almost giving up on the possibility of these people ever learning. A people deserve the leadership they get. |
Evil Brain:You dey mind dem? person wey supposed dey cry dey rejoice. ![]() I'm totally disappointed my people in the SW chose to vote for Goodluck, is it money politics again or do we really think we're gettin our own back on a northern candidate? ![]() |
Dont worry, Gej is not doing badly in the NW except kano. The SW advantage will take care of the NW deficit. i have done the arithmetic, we can start popping the champaign
Ol'boy you go wound o. you dey do maths for Nigerian politics? ![]() |
Good, very good. Citeh don end dem hoodoo and your lucky streak. No treble this season. About time you start to quiver at the might of Abu Dhabi oil money. ![]() |
dayokanu:Naaa, it is when a club has a turnover twice that of their richest competitor in an 18 club league but can't make top 2. |
dayokanu:Yes na real oshi to fail in securing a top 2 finish in the Fumblesliga. That is beyond mediocrity. ![]() |
dayokanu:Nor be una dey sack everyone sackable? you better go tell Kaiser say even if he sack all the ball boiz wey dey Allianz dat one nor guarantee UCL spot for una next season. Or better yet ask him to sack himself as well ![]() |
Enjoy yasef jare DK, at least yu suppose get some consolation for Mumunich's woes. Abi dem don sack you too? ![]() |
He will likely play in our last Reserve game of the season, there are also plans to organize some behind closed door games to get him competitive. I'll be surprised if Arsene risks him in a first team competitive match though. |
@dipo2much nor vex say life nor get rewind button but still accept Happy baiday in arrears sha. I nor know say we April pikin plenty for hia. @Biola Got the message from the fanshare scheme yet? its basically what I summarised before. |
Happy birthday JJCD, wish you long life and prosperity. Here is your birthday present Its a 65" HD/3D TV, The 3D feature should come particularly useful for the defensive analysis. ![]() |
@biolabee Dnt think he will, he is much richer than Kroenke and he can't even make up to 200m by selling those shares which is a drop in the ocean of his wealth. He can always view it as a viable investment, it will only be annoying to him that he can't exercise more influence. Whatever he decides, the future of Arsenal rests with his decision. As things stand at present, we have a majority owner but no sole owner. |
Danny Fiszman is dead http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/danny-fiszman-1945-2011 So now we know what brought this all about. duduspace:May his soul rest in peace, the club came a long way under his watch, he will be missed. |
Good news for both Tech9 and JD, but we still need Manure to fumble. |
Update on the club ownership situation. 1. Usmanov has confirmed he is not selling 2. AST have confirmed that they are not selling 3. I don't expect the fanshare scheme to sell 4. Some individual shareolders might take up Kroenke's offer Implication for the immediate future of the club 1. Arsenal is not going into private ownership because Kroenke cannot get up to the 90% required to do so as Usmanov refuses to sell his 27% stake. 2. There is no possibility of an LBO as it requires 75% support to authorize major capital decisions which would include issues like loans, as long as Kroenke doesn't have up to this he can't use the club's assets as security for any loans to buy the club. 3. Arsenal fanshare will continue in the foreseeable future as long as Usmanov doesnt decide to sell out to Kroenke, I'm however concerned about the other individual shareholders who may choose to take up the offer for any number of reasons as that would mean there wouldn't be many shares left for the fanshare scheme to buy but this would take some time to play out (not less than 5 years IMO within which a lot of other scenarios could have played out), the uncertain situation might also detract other fans from coming on to the scheme, In the grand scheme of things, its largely going to be business as usual, the board obviously believed that Kroenke was at least the lesser of 2 evils whose motives better aligns with their own vision for the long term future of the club (Fiszman actually made the pact with Kroenke back in 2009 and they have an ironclad Call and Put option dating that far back with the price already agreed with an activation clause within 20 days of Fiszman's death), Kroenke will have a lot of power and will drive Executive and management decisions but will not have absolute power a la Abramovic or Sheikh Mansour. He will definitely have the power to determine the future of Arsene Wenger but from a strictly business point of view, there is really no need to change the status quo (bad news for Arsene's detractors), the future of Arsenal remains good IMO and will depend on how we can improve on driving commercial revenue. With Arsene at the helm, revenues on the sporting side is guaranteed (read UCL money), 1 or 2 trophies can only help with negotiations on the commercial side. The future starts now. As an addendum, I don't really think Kroenke ever intended to buy the club fully, he didn't have the raw cash to do it, he only had to make the mandatory offer because the law required it, Usmanov might have actually saved us from at least a partial LBO, I'm not so sure Kroenke wouldnt have required some extra funding if Usmanov and the other shareholders accepted the offer as its not even clear if he has fully paid Fiszman for his shares. IMO the board effectively bent over backwards just to ensure Usmanov didn't take over as he had the money to do it. The worst scenario I can think of now is the possibility of Kroenke actually selling to Usmanov somewhere down the line. |
^^ DK, is your middle name Falana by any chance? ![]() |
Haaaa, nor try Barton o, e be like say him entire family dey accursed. You don forget say him younger brother dey do time for that black brother wey dem axe for head. |
HNIC:He looks like one of those people wey nor dey too vex but when dem vex fit burn down house. It is not easy to make the dreaded Joey Barton scared. |
slimshay:Yu dey belittle my tasere shares abi, you nor know say I get swing vote for board pass PHW. I dey laugh o. ![]() |
debosky:Eunuch? ![]() Slim run for your dear life. ![]() |
@Slim I think he is just grandstanding jare. Kroenke must have had this thing locked down before coming out. Usmanov was being a scrooge when he should have played ball with Lady Nina tay tay. |
shabbie:You are right, just saw it on the news but he is stupid jare, he should never have let it get to this stage and tied up those shares a long time ago. Lady Nina wouldn't want to look like a greedy person now and Kroenke might already have legal assurances. But at arsenal sha, we never cease to provide news and entertainment. You just gotta love this club. ![]() |
shabbie:Where did you hear this? Kroenke would have guaranteed acceptance from Lady Nina before making his move o I wish it were true cos it would throw a mighty spanner into Stan's move. |
mystikal:Not sure, its very murky at present. I'm still expecting their response to all the latest development sef. Should be a democratic process to determine if we'll be selling all the shares of the scheme to "Silent Stan". Of course you should know I will be voting NO to such a sellout. If the offer fails, then we'll still have our minority stake but we no get mouth for decision making as Stan would have his 62+ % to authorise most decisions he wants to take. As long as he doesn't get up to 90% of the shares (which he can't without Usmanov selling his 27%) we aren't obligated to sell. Problem is, if other individual shareholders accept his offer and he mops up the remaining shares floating around, there wouldn't even be any shares left around for the fanshare scheme to buy. EDIT: Update from the fanshare scheme. What does the offer for Arsenal Holdings by Stan Kroenke mean for Arsenal Fanshare? An offer for Arsenal Holdings PLC has been made by Kroenke Sports Enterprises. In the next few days it is expected that the formal offer document will be received by the Arsenal Fanshare Board who represent of all of the shares currently owned by Arsenal Fanshare members. As a Fanshare member, you will be asked to vote as to whether or not this offer should be accepted. At the current time, the Fanshare scheme continues to operate normally. Further information will follow in the next few days. Please see other questions on this page for more information. |
