I totally disagree with you, what Alumina did was nigh unforgivable and this one no dey the class of Tech9 and Kos mistake sef, Squillaci might have misjudged the flight of the ball or just been unable to reach it for any of so many reasons but he definitely had enough time to correct the initial problem but was never given the chance to by Almunia.

Can't speak for all Nigerian ethnicities but in yorubaland, you are always your parent's kids, even if yu're taller than mountain kilimanjaro, my mama can climb a stool to dish you better slap if you misbehave while in her house and that is why you don't go home too often after you leave, so that your parents get it into their heads that a bird has flown the nest, they will do anything for you to appreciate the little time they get to spend with you.

Wenger brought chamakh and bendtner in when we were 2 goals behind. That's a worthy gamble. It was the appropriate time to take such an 'inappropriate' decision. Normally,playin chamakh n bendtner when the scores are even is catastrophic.
IMHO,I don't see us winning the title as it is. Djourou been out for the rest of the season means our defense JUST CAN'T cope. The only hope is in if song,walcott and fab ALL shake off injury after the int'l break. We CAN'T win sheet if we are limited to denilsons. I'll rather have bendtner play a wide position just so that denilson doesn't play. Against the baggies,denilson couldn't even pass the ball,makin him outright feckless. This is the run-in,
and we aren't playin as such. squills and almunia won't win us 3 straight matches, Forget bout the title.

Its too early to give up on the title race, definitely some dead wood in the team we can now all see. Maybe the loss of critical personel should trigger a change in formation. Not saying both Chamakh and Bendtner have to be on the pitch at the same time but then maybe we can start playing 2 strikers again since Alumina is back in goal and we can no longer count on clean sheets. Since every game is now a cup game where we need to win, it might be better to start attacking from the blast of the whistle in most games apart from the Manure game.

I've already written my review of the season and what I want changing next season, I can only point out that the fightback yesterday was impressive and wished Arshavin could show that much urgency and fight in every match.
Also maybe its time for Arsene to bring out the big men earlier on in the games, why exactly do we need to have 2 strikers of Bendtner and Chamakh's class sitting on the bench when we're looking for goals.

So many peeps on here taking the myopic view that this is only about Nigeria and the developed world, all through history, people have always sought to make life better for their offsprings and to give them any competitive edge they can to them. It is also the reason why I have also migrated to the UK, the Irish did it during their potato famine migrating en masse to the US and even the English did it during the world war sending some of the English kids to Australia, the israelites also did it through out history and their having people in different countries actually helped them survive Hitler's holocaust.

Of course it is also instructive to point out the downside of such a venture because you might end up with kids who have no grounding anywhere and have a confused identity with the inability to commit to anything or bear allegiance to any nation or creed, however the benefits at present far outweigh the risk, you have here kids who can claim two nationalities and can be occupationally and socially mobile between Nigeria and the UK if they choose to as Oge Okoye herself is doing.

Who knows if shoes will be reversed and britons will be queueing up for Nigerian visas sometime in the not too distant future?
Before you start saying that is an impossibility, supposing a highly hypothetical Tsunami like affected Japan affected the UK and caused widespread radiation fallout, wouldn't all we Nigerians in the UK be heading back to our parent's farms?

Our players are never going to become undesirable, there will always be a French club out there that will shell out at least 7m for Diaby and possibly a Munich willing to shell out 11m for Bendtner, and possibly some club willing to pay up to 4m for Rosicky. After all the bashing we give them these players are still top quality for their age and some of them are not really bad players and would fit in well at other clubs not as demanding as Eduardo seems to have done, they are only seemingly square pegs in round holes.

You are very right about negotiating power, the club needs to start winning pretty soon to set us up nicely for when the shirt sponsorship deal ends in 2014 or cancelled with penalties before then. The stadium naming deal is never gonna be cancelled. Not sure what other rights and sponsorships we can sell but silverware would come handy in the negotiations and that is why winning something this season is critical. If we can end up with the PL at the end of the season, I expect the club to move to another level both in commercial terms and performance wise and by that I mean some really elite players coming in over the summer. The squad building is done in terms of youth development and clearly some of these players who we now know well have not made the grade, finances are much better and we're no longer on shoestrings now lets really go for those 1 or 2 world class signings that Arsene has always talked about.

IMO, Goalkeeping department is now sorted, defence also looks sorted once we get Vermaelen back, Bartley has done well for Rangers both in the SPL and Europe just like Jack did at Bolton last season and would be a good CB backup for next season if he doesn't end up forcing someone out as Jack did this season. The wide forward position I talked about at the beginning of the season is still vacant, since Arshavin is at sea we can chuck him out and bring in an elite player with pace and a good workrate being key requirements if we intend to continue with this 4-3-3 formation. Not decided yet if Song needs a backup or if we have him covered between Lansbury and Coquelin who have both done well for their respective loan clubs with Lansbury making the 3 man shortlist for Championship young player of the season.
