Before this stupid isha sesay starts pulling the logs in our eyes, she should check hers. What is she doing about gun control in America where there have been more than a thousand school shootings in less than 10years?? Is she holding trump personally responsible for the life of every American child in public school? This idiot should stop using Nigeria's situation to promote her career! It's disgusting and hypocritical. More children have died in American classrooms in the last 10years than have ever died in Nigeria. That's a more worthy cause to campaign about right there in her backyard. #fact |
We really need to give the responsibility for protecting our people to the people themselves through state police. We don't expect someone in Abuja to be directly resoonsible for every life in Yobe or Crossriver. It's absurd. I'm sure the IG of police has never even heard of the Governmet girls secondary school in Dapchi. Tankless of the President nor the Army chief. Where exactly does the buck fall now! If we had a state police head in Yobe that gets resources for policing from the state government, it would be their direct responsibility to ensure the protection of all secondary schools in Yobe state. We can't continue this nonsense strategy of policing Nigeria from Abuja. It's clearly not working!!! |
vision2050:Oga you're wrong. The whole world took offence when Mitchell Obama was carrying bring back our girls banners while our own first lady was on TV claiming no girls were kidnapped and it was all a political gimmick against her husband. Nobody has any right to blame Jonathan for the kidnap of those Chibok girls. Just like nobody blamed Bush for 911 or Trump for the gun shooting in Ohio. But their response is what mattered. Jonathan's response was woeful!!! |
I'm tired of the sad, sick and stupid APC vs PDP or Jonathan vs Buhari commentaries. This kidnap would have happened under the PDP o APC. The truth of the matter is that nobody can hold Buhari responsible for a kidnap that happened thousand of miles away from Abuja. Just like nobody can hold Jonathan responsible for the Chibok girls kidnap, (except for the initial denial by himself and his wife). We need state police so that we can hold somebody responsible whenever something like this happens. As it is now, there is nobody to hold responsible. Not the IG of police, not the Army chief, not the State governor or the President. |
Point of correction, Otedola does not own Forte oil. Forte is a publicly quoted company meaning it belongs to many Nigerian and foreign shareholders including Femi Otedola. |
The Air force spokesperson clarified everything so i don't get the confusion! The one Jonathan commissioned was a prototype. It wasn't functional or operational. We never heard any reports of the Air force conducting any air strikes in the North East with a drone during Jonathan's regime. The one Buhari just commissioned can conduct air strikes and is functional. So what are you dumbasses on nairaland ranting about Buhari again? |
CoolAmbience:Very true!!! In other states, the governors take charge and assume their responsibilities as Chief Security Officers. Nobody writes letters in the face of imminent threat to life. You act! Summon the Commissioner of Police, State director of DSS and Military head in the state and visit the area. Chase whoever is causing trouble away!!! Writing letters to Buhari in Abuja for what? So Buhari will go to Benue and do Ortoms job for him? That stupid governor has no clue what it means to be a State Chief Executive in Nigeria! |
Castanea:You have got to be kidding me! So you think this governor did everything in his power to avert this massacre? By writing letters to bureaucrats in Abuja in the face of imminent danger, you think Ortom did his very possible best to avert those killings? A governor gets first hand information that there's an imminent threat to life and property and he writes a letter to Abuja to report it. The Chief Security Officer of a State!!! With billions allocated to security every year! He writes a letter to Buhari to do what exactly? So Buhari and Osibanjo will travel down from Abuja to avert the threat! What stupidity!!!! ![]() |
Od31:I'm sure Wike was waiting for the IG of police to do something about Don waney before he was eventually killed. The governor is the chief security officer of the state. The State Security Council of every state consists of the Governor, the commissioner of police, the State director of the DSS and the Head of any military formation in the state. Did ortom report this threat he noticed to the state security council? Were the state director of the DSS and the police commissioner aware of this threat and fail to act. What sort of governor writes letters to bureucrats when there is an immenent and immediate threat to life? A governor that has billions in security votes that he can use to mobilize the security agencies in his state? You people shouldn't be naive. Ortom is just a clueless dunce that has no idea what it means to be the Chief Executive of a state in Nigeria. |
Let me get something straight, this nimcompoo of a governor had information that an attack was about to occur and what did he do? He didn't mobilise the state commissioner of police and the state director of the DSS and immediately arrest the situation, he didn't consult with the traditional rulers of the area, he didn't visit the area to ascertain what was going on, he didn't notify the Brigadier general in the closest military formation, he didnt visit the IG of police in Abuja or the DG of the DSS, all he did was write a letter to Abuja to cry about an attack when the President and VP have millions of letters on their desks. When Don waney killed 41 people in Rivers last month, Wike didn't cry on TV that he wrote letters, he mobilised the local DSS and police plus a ransome of N20million to kill the terrorist. Fayose didn't write letters to Abuja when herdsmen were killing farmers, he mobilised the local police. Why is Ortom writing letters to Abuja when lives are at stake? This governor must be the biggest idiot we have in the country. |
charain:So it is a requirement of the new UK legislation that you place a phone call to the VAIDS office and your property is safe? Oga pls read and understand. You cannot own property in the UK without any legal traceable source of income. VAIDS is a framework apart from the UK legislation that allows tax defaulters to regularise their taxes and get waivers from the FG. Since the Tax database of the FIRS is now open to the UK authorities, anyone that is not captured in our database or that understates his income in our database and then goes to buy property in the UK will risk losing it. So anyone in that situation will want to go to the VAIDS office and give his correct income statement in order to justify ownership of the UK property. This will lead to massive increase in tax revenues for the FG. VAIDS is a laudable program from the Ministry of Finance. |
bkfilms:The FG is actually benefiting from the law because thousands or even millions of Nigerians will now be captured in the tax net. And also, those who have underpaid taxes in Nigeria for years will now have to pay the appropriate taxes in Nigeria or risk losing their property in the UK. |
charain:Oga try to read before typing. VAIDS is an initiative of the Ministry of Finance to help tax defaulters regularise their income and declare income and taxes that correspond to their assets. Someone that owns a house in the UK worth 1million pounds cannot be paying income tax of 20,000 naira in Nigeria. There will be information sharing between the UK government and the Finance ministry so that anyone who declares income tax of N20,000 in Nigeria will not have the audacity to go and buy a house in the UK when he knows the Ministry of Finance in Nigeria would have told the UK authorities that you obviously have no legitimate means of livelihood, judging by your tax returns, to support that asset. The UK government can then go ahead and seize the property. |
nkwuocha:See this liar! Oga they don't speak Arabic in Afghanistan. Tell another lie pls |
Guy didn't play it well. He should have warmed his way to the girl before popping the question. If he'd played his cards well and waited a lil longer after the surgery for the girl to realise what he did for her and trip, she'd have said yes. He just gave her his kidney and proposed to her. That's like blackmail. She obviously said no cos she didn't want the guy to think she was obliged to do anything for him cos of his kidney. |
Rivers people should be careful with the way Wicked Wike is splashing their money on PDP affairs. Wike used N111million of Rivers money to bribe INEC officials during that N.A. rerun election. Case currently in court. Used USD 2million to bribe Justice Liman for his tribunal case. Money is yet to be recovered because Wike woke up at 1am at night to prevent the DSS from seizing the money. Wike used Rivers money to host that botched PDP convention. Wike gave Ortom N200million under the pretext of aid donation while the money is essentially to lure Ortom to the PDP. Wike used Rivers money to arrange the convention that produced Secondus as PDP chair. In essence Secondus is PDP chair today courtesy of Rivers state Resources. Wike is still using Rivers money to try to select a Presidential candidate for the PDP single handedly!!! This same Wike abandoned the Rivers state monorail project calling it a white elephant. While the likes of Calabar just commissioned theirs last year. Abuja will commission it's own this year. Lagos next year. Even Kano will soon commission theirs. People of Rivers, when others are moving around in fast and efficient monorail, you'll be left with that torn, stinking and tattered PDP umbrella because that is the only investment your governor is making today. Splashing money on cultists and PDP. |
That benefactor is a dunce behaving like a woman. You don't decend to women's low brain stupid level and start sharing gossip with them. Even if he wasn't interested in that deparate gal, he could have just saved her parole somewhere to be used later. Not going to town to gossip with Oma. Oma will fućk up tomorrow, that's when you'll pull this kind of shít out and use to your advantage. Moral is never decend to a woman's level!!! Woman have small brains! What kind of idiot comes out on social media to cry about someone trying to steal her benefactor? |

onyxo76:So the same Omole got the EFCC to establish a case against Elujoba? The same omole is planning to bribe the judge and pronounce Elujoba guilty? The same Omole will then go to the Court of Appeal and bribe the Judges there to support the Ede courts guilty verdict? You're not making sense here. If the man is innocent of the charges and he's really being framed then why not wait for the courts verdict? Why all the drama and noise? Besides if Omole is the guilty one and not Elujoba then why hasn't anybody in the entire University community of OAU IFE bothered to write a petition against Omole to the EFCC? Or nobody in OAU Ife knows the postal address of the EFCCs Zonal office in Ibadan? Or the entire University community in Ife does not know how to draft a petition to the EFCC? All this ranting and daring on Nairaland is of no use. |
Adebola02:The title of the thread reads "OAU staff and students go wild". I'm not the OP of the thread or the mod. I didn't author the thread. Secondly, it's quiet shameful that an OAU student would use "ignorance attitude" in a sentence like you just did. I wonder what on earth goes on in that school these days. When I was there, people like you could only be found at the Federal Poly Ede or the School of Science. Not Great Ife. The Standard has really dropped. |
Simitrendy:^^^^^^^^^ Friends and colleagues from OAU, I present to you, a student of your prestigious school. "Great" Ife indeed. |
Simitrendy:Never thought I'd see the day an OAU student would find it difficult to construct a simple sentence in English. Now that day has come. I'm so disappointed. |
Simitrendy:Would have loved to reply you but I just can't make any sense of what you just typed. So this is the depth OAU has sunk to. Pitiful |
Adebola02:So his prosecution has political undertones? What then makes you different from all those shameless women and thugs that Patience Jonathan organised to disrupt court proceedings in Lagos because her case has "political undertones" or is "politically motivated"? What makes you different from the thugs that Saraki organised regularly to appear at the Code of Conduct tribunal during his trial because his case had "political undertones" like he claimed. Imagine a VC claiming political persecution. Nonsense! |
Simitrendy:From your tone of writing I take it you're one of the hooligan OAU students that stormed the court and attempted to disrupt proceedings. OAU now breeds thugs and Agberos. Pathetic. |
Adebola02:If you like go on strike till next year, nobody will intimidate the EFCC or the court. The mans innocence is for the court to decide not you. If he's innocent of the charges, what on earth are you scared of? Instead of calling for accelerated hearing of the case, you and your ilk are storming the court and disrupting proceedings thinking you can intimidate the Judge. It means you have something to hide. |
ivolt:No mind them. As if the EFCC was not responding to a petition written against the VC. The man took money that doesn't belong to him and doled it out like father Christmas. With all the dirty stinking hostels and lecture halls on campus, people still have the mind to protest in support of someone that took money meant for the development of the school and spent elsewhere. |
Femolacaster:The EFCC will not charge you to court for corruption except they've established a prima facie case against you. The Ex VC should spend more money on getting good lawyers instead of hiring miscreants and thugs to intimidate the court like politicians do. |
OAU students I know will not leave their school in IFE to go and protest for one Ex VC that has been implicated for corrupt practises in Ede. Highly impossible! Maybe the Ex VC mobilised thugs and miscreants, Fayose style, to try and intimidate the court. Definitely not OAU students. |
Excellent strides by the N.A. Since they have the plans and designs, next step is tender and invite bids for any suitable manufacturer to mass produce. We have a military assembly company in Lagos that does armoured trucks. They may be interested in mass producing this. Innosons is also currently producing light military vehicles. They may be interested in mass producing this and selling. DICON is also there. There is a market across Africa for this kind of military hardware. We can open up nd commercialise Nigeria's defence sector with milestones like this. |
Patience Jonathan asked dudufa, Jonathan's special adviser on domestic affairs, to facilitate the opening of dollar accounts for her. Dudufa got some crooked bankers from Skye bank to open the accounts but register them in the names of Jonathan's domestic servants and her cousin, Esther Oba. Patience is the signatory to those accounts and she has the Mastercards for them. Dudufa did his own runs and registered some companies as signatories ornthose accounts and named himself and his friends as directors. This he may have done with/without the knowledge of the illiterate patience. Now the EFCC tracked down all the named directors of the companies used to perpetuate this fraud and they all denied those accounts leaving more than USD15 million with no owner. Patience Jonathan finally comes out and claims the money meaning she committed fraud in the first place by opening and operating an account in which doesn't belong to her. Then there is the issue of where she got the money from. To those people claiming Patience is the first former first lady to be "maltreated" or "harassed", have you ever heard Maryam Abacha come out to petition anyone when Money is recovered from the Abachas loot? The FG has been shaking down the Abacha family since 1999. Billions have been recovered from them. I'm sure they are too ashamed to even oppose the FGs recovery efforts. But patience Jonathan is not ashamed of anything. Instead she choses to insult our collective intelligence by claiming the money is from donations and gifts from people. Who are those people? |
