CIRCULATION OF FAKE INEC RECRUITMENT ADVERT ON SOCIAL MEDIA The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) wishes to, once again, draw the attention of members of the public to the activities of scammers and those we have previously referred to as “fake employment merchants and racketeers” who open fake employment websites and issue fake employment letters purporting to be acting on behalf of the Commission.
These scammers are once again circulating the Commission’s old recruitment advertisement on the social media with the obvious intention to lure and dupe unsuspecting members of the public with attractive offers of employment.
The Commission unequivocally dissociates itself from the antics of these scammers and fake employment merchants and reiterates the fact that its recruitment portal is no longer active and was shut down the moment the Commission suspended its recruitment exercise.
It will be recalled that on the 30th of May 2020 and 31st December 2020, the Commission issued a statement drawing the attention of the public to the circulation of purported letters of employment/appointment allegedly emanating from it. We had informed members of the public that the recruitment exercise has been suspended.
The Commission will continue to conduct its activities in the best tradition of openness and transparency. This policy of transparency informs the wide publicity given to its recruitment drive any time the Commission embarks on such.

At that point, I recalled that MTN and Airtel have packages for cheaper international calls. I called MTN customer care CC, for enquiries. It was good. Their plan could call US, Canada, Ireland and some other countries I can't recall now. Well, I felt like trying other options. I call AIRTEL CC. They only had few countries on their lists with Ireland excluded.
I paid for MTN's plan at #500 for 40mins with 5 days validity. I was disappointed when the very first call was charged from my main account. I call CC, they said the matter will be resolved within 24hrs. After 24hrs, no call or texts that the matter has been resolved. Day 2 I called back. Same story. The matter will be resolved in 24hrs. After about 3hrs, I received a text the issue has been resolved. Day 3 I called the same number. The issue persisted. Called back CC. CC broke the news that, not all numbers can be called using that package. I became furious and asked:
1. Why was I not told initially that not all numbers can be called on that package? 2. Why was there no message, call or text to the customer identity the numbers that are available for that package? 3. Why did it take the CC 3 days to identity the issue?
Well I asked for a refund and she categorically told me that MTN don't do refund. For my money.
Please, I need advice how to get my money back. #500 is no small money in this hard time. And i dont thing i should keep quiet because it is MTN. Any ideas?

All does not seem to be well in the Imo state chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria. There has been a lot of turmoil owing to the botched election of new executives to the apex youth body in the state.
The Imo state chapter of the council has been rocked by major crisis in recent times, which has culminated in a court order mandating that all the parties that were involved in the congress held previously should be brought to book within 28 days of the establishment of that court order.
According to a voice recording made available to The Nation Online, the Imo State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Hon Dan Chike Ogu was caught in a secret meeting held in his office, which he said was to consolidate his plans to colonize the National Youth Council elections and set up a his own set of executives.
Dan Ogu who is popularly known in the State as Hamza has been the focus of public attention in recent times for a number of financial misconduct, chief among which is the embezzlement of the N10M budget earmarked for the Imo state contingent to the National Sports Festival held in Edo State earlier in the year.
The embattled commissioner who did not mince words was clearly heard in the meeting saying that he will create a faction in the Imo chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria and that there's nothing even the Governor could do about it.
The National Youth Council of Nigeria which is the highest ranking youth body recognized by the Presidency, is made up of the Voluntary Youth Organizations, the Religious Based Organizations, and the Conference Organizations.
