They can only borrow data to see the invitation card online. Congrats to the couple cos Dubai awaits you guys, while those who defend your parents' detrimental actions to Nigeria are still praying that it should rain so they can fetch drinking water.

Education / Re: I Regretted Going To University by durasome(m): 8:37pm On Sep 28, 2020
tobechi74:
Tear them or.
You are a product of a terrible teacher
Go to any school and ask the students to identify the subject they dislike most. Many of them will chorus “mathematics”. What makes student harbour a passionate hatred for this subject still remains a mystery for most educationist  .

. Many reasons have been proposed . One which seems to be overlooked is the fact that students do not feel connected to the subject in anyway  . Imagine spending hours finding ” x” when “x” is neither your brother or your sister only to search for “x the following day. It is not only routinal but boring. The student begins to wonder whether to use the same formula to find his biro.  This is because the teacher failed to explain to him the application of these formulas in real life situation.

Many mathematics teachers were top in their classes when they were students. When they are not learning in class, they are studying in the library. They spend little time socialising  and having fun     . They grow up to become an expert in mathematics but deficient in relating same to the student . They begin a topic by introducing an abstract theory and leave the student wondering how this theory concerns his life.

They do not deserve to be blamed. They only repeated what was handed over to them by their teacher  . Garbage in garbage out. They can choose to create a new tomorrow.

We can have outstanding mathematician but terrible teachers of mathematics. Great mathematics Teachers begin by stimulating the interest of the student. Students who are less than fourteen years of age are emotionally focused. They tend to feel more and rationalise less .

Simultaneous Equation. : Divide the children into groups of 4 .Ask tleaxh group to go to four different shops . Give each group #200 to buy pencil and biro  .total amount of both items  should be six. Compare each group answer. . Solve on the board. Which group got it right?

Speed : Take student outside  Measure any point A about 100m apart. Get each student to walk fast or run from point A to B and get another student to record time against the student. After each student must have done dat, take them back to the class and calculate the speed of three students. The remaining students should calculate their own  walking speed.

Volume of cylinder : Tell student to bring any empty milk ,or tomatoes container to class. Using ruler, they watch you measure the height and Diameter and repeat the same for their container. After that, you calculate the volume or area using formula method and watch them do the same  .

Average : each student is given a company name and asked to go to the library and get the prices of shares for nine consecutive days. They are to find the moving average of five

Area  The student measure the length and breadth of one class room tile  . Student count the number of tile in the class and find the product.

One way we make mathematics boring is that we do not involve the student in getting the data. We spoon feed them the data . In real life, they have to know how to get the data themselves.  Getting them to measure it themselves makes them engaged. One parent told me his child measures everything he can lay his hands on at home . After measurement, he would begin to calculate  . Things got out of hand when the television fell off. These method make class lovely, children interesting and active participant in the learning process, .Soon children will begin to love the subject

Politics / Re: N2.67bn School Feeding Funds Discovered In Private Accounts - ICPC by durasome(m): 6:59pm On Sep 28, 2020
adenigga:
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), on Monday revealed that it has uncovered a whopping N2.67 billion payment made to some federal colleges for school feeding during the lockdown when children were not in school, which ended up in personal accounts.

ICPC Chairman, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, made the disclosure Monday in his keynote address at the second National Summit on Diminishing Corruption with the theme: “Together Against Corruption and Launch of the National Ethics and Integrity Policy,” held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He explained that in the Open Treasury Portal review carried out between January to August 15, 2020, out of 268 Ministries, Departments and Agendas (MDAs) 72 of them had cumulative infractions of N90 million.

He said while 33 MDAs tendered explanations that N4.1 billion was transferred to sub-TSA, N4.2 billion paid to individuals had no satisfactory explanations.

According to Owasanoye, “We observed that transfers to sub-TSA was to prevent disbursement from being monitored.

“Nevertheless, we discovered payments to some federal colleges for school feeding in the sum of N2.67 billion during lockdown when the children are not in school, and some of the money ended up in personal accounts. We have commenced investigations into these finding.”

The ICPC helmsman also said under its 2020 constituency and executive projects tracking initiative, 722 projects with a threshold of N100 million (490 ZiP and 232 executive) was tracked across 16 states.
He noted that a number of projects described as ongoing in the budget, were found to be new projects that ought to have been excluded in order to enable government complete exiting projects; absence of needs assessment resulted in projects recommended for communities that do not require them being abandoned; projects sited in private houses on private land thus appropriating common asset to personal use, hence denying communities of the benefit; absence of synergy between outgoing project sponsors and their successors.

The ICPC chairman said in education sector, 78 MDAs were reviewed and common cases of misuse of funds were uncovered.

Some of the discoveries include life payment of bulk sums to individuals/staff accounts, including project funds; non-deductions/remittance of taxes and IGR; payments of unapproved allowances, bulk payment to micro finance banks, payment of arrears of salary and other allowances of previous years from 2020 budget, payment of salary advance to staff, under-deduction of PAYE and payment of promotion arrears due to surplus in Personnel Cost, abuse and granting of cash advances above the approved threshold and irregular payment of allowances to principal officers.

“We have restrained or recovered by administrative or court interim and final orders assets above N3 billion, facilitated recovery of $173,000 by the whistle blower unit of FMFB&P from an erring oil company, retrained £160,000 in a UK-bank in an ongoing interim forfeiture. This figures exclude quantum of recoveries on return or contractors to site as a result of projects tracking initiatives.

“It should however be noted that some of these assets are subjected to ongoing cases and where suspects proved their cases physical or liquid assets will be released in accordance with laid down laws, guidelines or court directives.”

He said in order to boost community involvement for its 20th anniversary, it launched in July, N20 million from ICPC 20 project with two main competitions aimed at provoking youth creativity and support for the fight against corruption. These were the National Music Competition and National Essay Competition for Junior and Senior Secondary Schools with Anti-Corruption or Integrity Clubs.

Romance / Re: How Do I Ask Her To Leave....please Help!!! by durasome(m): 6:52pm On Sep 28, 2020
IamSoProlific:
Hello beloveths, please I will be very brief and straight to the point on this one.

There's this girl I started dating around August 30th last year, it was a distance relationship, we got along so well on phone, she appeared different, smart, brilliant, industrious and what have you when it comes to what a virtuous woman and one that knows what she wants at that. I totally thought she was the one for me, little did I know she's just the regular average girl hovering around pretentiously looking for whom to leech on.

Fast forward July this year, she relocated to my place with the hope of staying with me, I did it on purpose so I can watch her closely and we can plan on settling down because I planned on concluding the marital necessities with her by December.

When she came to stay with me, I noticed she was just the opposite of all she claimed to be while we spoke on phone, she played me, she gets Violently angered at every provocation and ready to fight, she just sleeps, eat, watch Tv and spend all her life on social media (Instagram,Facebook and WhatsApp), she has absolutely nothing to offer- not in any way to my life. I've already called the marriage quit in my head. She has anger issues, always feel attacked and ready for a fight....I have tried to change her, even took her to a therapist, but all to no avail, settling down with her would definitely end in doom.

Long story short, inasmuch as not to waste each other' s time, please house, how do I make her leave my house, I'm currently staying in Lagos, she came from Asaba to come live with me and this is her first time in Lagos, and she's not ready to leave, to her she's already my wife and not ready to go anywhere, I've tried to talk about her leaving, but she literally refused saying she can't just go back and that she gave up a lot to come stay with me( I really wonder what she gave up) I've stopped touching her long ago.

Moreso, the girl in question is dangerous, revengeful and very tricky (claiming to be smart), she once told me she's trying to figure out how to hurt her ex because he double dated, which made her to leave.

The case now made me understand sense needs to be applied so well while dealing with her. She always say she can never allow me to leave her, not while she's alive...

House please help me in the best strategy to make her leave my house without any violence or bad energy before the end of next month, I just can't contain her any more....
.you don chop tire abi? there is God ooo.

My Uncle is Abroad But His Wife is always telling me Body no be Firewood and I wonder what she means -

Source: www.knowefritin.com

I kind of stay with my uncle and I have stayed with him now for more than 2 years. He got this Job abroad and decided to honour it and maybe come back after a while to get his wife and only child.

Its been 6 months already since my uncle left the country and his wife is always using this phrase whenever we talk, “Body no be firewood”…

Atimes we will be having normal conversations and then before I know it she is already saying “hmmm my brother body no be firewood o”…

Its always worse when we all sit in the parlour and watch a movie with the little boy and then they start kissing in the movie, the next thing you will hear is “my brother, body no be firewood o”.

I respect her so much and so far she has not made any advance towards me or try to do anything funny but no day passes without her telling me that body no be firewood.

I am a responsible young man and a good Christian and so don’t really understand what this is all about. I am sharing this incase there is a way I can help her out because my parents are not in Lagos and I can’t just leave yet or mess things up....

GLeesMODEL:
The General Overseer of SRI Wealthy Nations Ministry Abuja, Pastor Prince Dickson, predicted Olamilekan “Laycon” Agbeleshe as the winner of the BBNaija season 5 from the first day of BBNaija Lockdown.

Read here https://www.nairaland.com/6018662/pastor-prince-dickson-laycon-bbnaija

Pastor Prince Dickson predicted Laycon winner of the BBNaija season 5 which was concluded a few minutes ago where Laycon won the grand price of N85 million.

The prophecy has affirmed some previously drifting expectation about Laycon’s planned triumph in the BB naija house.

The Pastor made the prediction on Wednesday 22nd July 2020 that Laycon will be winner of the Season 5 edition of Big Brother Naija.

Fans of other competing housemates then challenged the authenticity of the prophecy, as they called on Nigerians to disregard the Pastor’s Prophecy, stressing that it was a mere gimmick, while others hailed the prophecy.

Laycon was one of the 19 housemates who battled for the grand prize of N85M and has been announced the winner of the BBNaija Lockdown.

Family / Re: Nigerian Men Talk About Vasectomies by durasome(m): 7:19am On Sep 23, 2020
Vilgax:

sperm and semen are two different things.

after a vasectomy, semen can still be released naturally during sexual activities.

after a vasectomy, sperm (the cells responsible for fertilising the eggs) cannot mix with the semen. they are absorbed by the body after a while and therefore cannot accumulate.

hope this helps.
smiley
.but before this time I was meant to understand that the semen is a combination of the sperm and the other fluids lubricant,is pre ejeculate, and all are being form in the testicle and the vas deference is just a passage way.
Family / Re: Nigerian Men Talk About Vasectomies by durasome(m): 7:02am On Sep 23, 2020
BigCabal:
A vasectomy is a permanent contraceptive method where a male’s vas deferens is cut and tied or sealed to prevent sperm from getting to the urethra, to stop the man from ejaculating and fertilizing the female’s egg. Whew, that’s a lot of grammar. In simpler English, the tube that carries sperm from the testicles is tied up or sealed in order to prevent the sperm from reaching the penis. This procedure is mostly permanent although it may be reversed in some cases.

Men are increasingly considering vasectomies as a contraceptive method. For the most part, they do it to take the burden off their female partners who have historically been expected to use birth control methods that give them nasty side effects and some times, permanent damage. Vasectomies are generally safe and not as painful as most people think it is. I talked to 5 Nigerian men about vasectomies. They had some pretty interesting answers.

Paul, 38
I decided to get a vasectomy because we were done havings kids and no longer wanted to worry about falling pregnant. It’s less invasive for a guy to get a vasectomy than for a woman to undergo tubal ligation (tying up the fallopian tubes). It’s also way cheaper and requires much shorter recovery time. It’s not even comparable.

I had it done three years ago at my doctor’s office. It was a keyhole surgery (a minimally invasive surgery that’s carried out through a small incision in the skin) with local anaesthesia. I was chatting with the doctor the whole time while he had my balls in his hands. The procedure took all of 30 minutes. I had it done on a Friday and only took Monday off work (because its a desk job). I was cleared to return to the gym after a week.

I don’t regret it at all because it was an informed decision. Also, my wife put her body through the trials of pregnancy and childbirth. Getting a vasectomy done is such a small hit to take for the team. It’s even a bonus because you can have sexy time without condoms or fear of getting pregnant.

When people hear that I underwent the procedure, they’re generally chill about it. Except Nigerian men. They act like they’ve seen a ghost or I called their mother a witch. I can see them fighting the urge to grab their balls to ensure it’s still there. There’s no regret for me. I have two kids. I don lock shop. My team has retired my jersey. Full MVP status.

Hamza, 31
I’ve setup a vasectomy appointment for November. I don’t have any children and I’m perfectly fine with the prospect of never having one. My girlfriend is completely fine with it although I dare not tell my mother.

Ejiro, 47
I got a vasectomy six years ago. The birth of my third child was a shock to my wife and me, so we immediately decided that I would undergo a vasectomy. It wasn’t a big deal; I’m a doctor and I knew exactly what to expect. I was told it would be potentially painful but it really wasn’t. I was prescribed painkillers and I stopped taking them about ten days after the procedure.

I had it done here in the UK so it was pretty straightforward and, more importantly, free. Asides my wife, not even my close friends and family know that I underwent the procedure. Even if they did, they wouldn’t be surprised I had it done.

Now that I’ve had it done, I’ve got complete sexual freedom. I’m not bothered about whether my wife remembers to take her pills. I’m happy knowing that I’ve completed my family size. It is something I should have taken responsibility for and done a long time ago.

Sam, 32
I’m yet to get a vasectomy but my wife and I are in agreement on this, and I’ve spoken with a urologist. I’ve decided to get this done in November (that’s when our baby will be born) because my wife and I got married knowing that we’re both AS. You might think it’s a big risk but we both knew what we were getting into. Before we got married, we both wanted a child.

When she got pregnant, we took a test to confirm the genotype of the baby, and if she turned out to be SS, we would have aborted immediately. Luckily, she’s AS.

I’m a health worker, so I have experienced firsthand what women go through with birth control and family planning. I’ve seen how it messes them up in different ways like weight gain and constant bleeding. I’ve decided to take that pain off my wife and get a vasectomy done.

Ayo, 34
I’ve decided to get one. I’m married and I have 2 boys that mean the world to me. People ask if I don’t want to try again for a girl and I wonder if they will help me cater for that extra mouth in this Nigerian economy.

Afterall, every battle Oshiomhole has fought, won and lost, is because of Tinubu.

As APC chairman, he fought Tinubu's battles. All the Governors and Ministers that had/have 2023 Presidential ambition, automatically became Oshiomhole's enemies, and he tried so hard to wrestle the APC party structures from them, in their respective states.

He did it with Ibikunle Amosun in Ogun state, Yari in Zamfara state, Rotimi Amaechi in Rivers, Rochas Okorocha in Imo.

That is aside the dirty work in places like Lagos (to silence Ambode), Oyo ( to silence Tegbe). The only reason Fayemi got the APC ticket for Ekiti was because Buhari was behind him gidigba.

Tinubu and Oshiomhole were fronting Segun Oni. Opeyemi Bamidele even got shot in the arm by unknown people during a rally for Fayemi.

So, Baba Tinubu just go and calm down abeg.
