This is what happens when you read from google or chose to not read and understand what a person post, where did I say everyone's tax code is 1171? How many people do you know who ern above 100K as salary in the UK? Look guy please go back and read what I wrote again and re-post a response!
If you earn anything from 15k to 40k and your tax code is 1171
Here is your statement again. Theis statement I quoted is wrong. It is also instructive that you failed to admit that you got the tax bands wrong. The issue is not how many people earn that much but about the taxes.

erico2k2:
in the UK we have what we call a tax code, this is the amount of money you need to earn above in order to pay tax If you earn below this amount you won't pay any tax. The max tax u can pay as a salary earner in the UK is 40% these are for those earning above 40k and it's only applicable to the overspill of the 40k ie 41K U will pay 40% on 1k. If you earn anything from 15k to 40k and your tax code is 1171, this means your taxation would be calculated withing 40k-1171. However, if you do not have a tax code yet ie you just started a new job etc you will be taxed at a basic rate(BR) which is flat 20%.Everyone's tax code is different, married people with families are different from single and young people!.So for those of you thinking 50% is going to be taken from your earned monies I say this stop speculating and assuming, ask people who live, work and earn in them cities for the right Info to boost your knowledge.
You got a lot of the information you posted above wrong. Highest tax rate in the UK is 45%, which is for those who earn above £150k. 40% rate starts at £50001. Also your tax code depends on several factors and is not 1171 for everyone that earn within the range you posted.
Op, 50% does not translate to half but the higher you earn, the closer to half the tax is. For example, if you earn £200k pounds, tax is at 45% which is roughly £73k in taxes minus NI. This is roughly 36% tax. But if you earn £1m, that Vue is close to 43% minus NI.
Romance › Re: My Lady Is Showing Signs Of Unseriousness by dustydee: 7:46pm On Dec 09, 2019
Innobee99:
I met this lady in 2015 though she was very young and still young. She's 21 while am 28. I love and cherish her so much and despite her flaws she's the one I find comfortable to spend my days with. We have been having a lot of relationship issues which we do settle.

There are many issues she puts on which I won't want to mention here cuz I overlook her flaws and focus on her good side.

The problem is it seems she's not ready for marriage at all or maybe because she's still young and want to fulfill her youthful desires. Always want to be a slay Queen, contesting for beauty pageants even without my knowledge.

I have talked to her severally about my desire to marry her but only nod her head in affirmation but I think she's really not ready.

OK, last year we had a serious issue which we broke up cuz it was a real family war. But we later came back to together again despite I was not at fault and cuz of the love I have for her, I went to her mum to apologize over the issue so we can be one again. I told this lady to also visit my mum and apologize too but she has been procrastinating for a year now. She has not visited my family house over the year. Whenever I confront her on why she don't want to reconcile with my family, she will give flimsy excuses of been busy. How can one be busy for a whole one year to say sorry even if it's on phone.

Now, I met a lady few months ago, and I love her so much and she's ready to settle down with me next year December. And I knw this my stubborn babe is a very jealous type and I don't knw how to handle the issue and let her go since I have seen someone who's ready to settle down with me.

My babe is only interested in u flexing with her like taking her out to eateries, lodging her in a hotel for fun, buying her gifts without spending her own kobo on u (I can swear to that). Last year, I spent alot on her birthday but wen it was my birthday, the total of what she got for me was N700. N200 perfume and N500 Nivea Roll on. But that's not my business sha.

For example, this new babe requested me to give her 2k to make her hair for an event in Church which I bluntly ignored her just to test her, not that I don't have the money. Can u believe that this babe have even forgotten she asked me the money? And she talks to me perfectly on phone. She was like babe, if u don't have money don't stress urself ooooo, I'll repackage my hair and still look good to Church. If u don't send my babe money before the due time, she'll stop calling u.

The new babe is not after money or material things. Though I'll send her a reasonable amount today. Unlike my babe, who will bring down hell if u don't send her money before the deadline. Can u believe that in August, she had already brought her christmas list to me to check?

To cut all these short, I need mature mind on what to do on this cuz am confused. U can pour ur insults cuz I don't even bother abt that as far as I get the advise I want.

Stay blessed my beautiful NL family.
Why do guys feel they have to give their girlfriends money or spend on them? Is normal birthday and Christmas present not enough? And may be occasional gifts given to each other?

Just pray you never ever have an inquiry, even how much you are left to feed with will be assessed. receipts will be picked at random and you will be asked to explain the journey and how it relates to business. If its a client then you will have to show the invoice or where you billed the client. they will pull out an audit trail from where you visited the client - invoice- payment received and how you accounted for it in your returns. Then all the non business expenses will be put back plus interest and you will be billed. you can always appeal.

We once had a client who used a helicopter to pick up his son from a private school in Kent and he put it throught the books, the IR threw it out but he appealed and won. He was going to see a client and stopped over to pick his son. he was one of our craziest clients.

Some people get mind sha. I met someone who dies not keep receipts. He said his accountant discarded them when he first gave it to her and she said he didn't need them. She also helped him reduce his tax liability from about 20k to less than 10k. I just told myself to keep doing what I am doing. He is British and so will not be kicked out even if found out but I don't want HMRCs wahala. He laughed at me for collecting receipts but I don't mind.

Business expenses must be wholly, reasonably exclusively and necessarily incurred for the sole purpose of the business on paper . Please get yourself a switched on Accountant.

However, you cant afford to mess around with VAT. You're just a tax collector for the government.
Sometimes I don't get receipts for some expenses like food. These are not big expenses but it adds up, how do I claim these without receipts?

Romance › Re: Can My Disrespectful & Unsubmissive Girlfriend Change After Marriage? by dustydee: 3:05pm On Nov 27, 2019
burggerx:
One thing that scares the hell out of me about my girlfriend is her attitude. When you talk about a disrespectful and unsubmissive lady, my girlfriend is the headquarters of all the disrespectful and unsubmissive ladies I've ever met. Even if she does something good, I don't tend to notice it because her bad attitude has already overshadowed the good side of her

Even if she acts respectful to me, it's so obvious she's only forcing it since it's a trait she lacks. Just when a little brawl ensues, curses and abusive words are usually not far-fetched from her mouth. She has even insulted my family before during a heated argument. The only thing my girlfriend is yet to do is to beat me up

I believe they say respect is earned but I've done everything a man should do to earn respect from his lady yet this lady talks to me like a kid. No sign of humility at all

My girlfriend is not only dominating but toxic and does not accept correction. She makes it look like giving authority as a man is slavery and she questions my authority every time. The annoying part is that she argues a lot and always wants to be right at all times. Feminism is written all over her to the extent that even in movies, my girlfriend will have the back of a woman who is unsubmissive and disrespectful to an innocent husband.

Although she acts like a respectful girlfriend in the presence of my family but my mom in question is smart enough to know that she's only faking it despite trying all my best to portray my girlfriend as someone that gives me joy in the face of my mom

Before my mom traveled to the UK in September, she sat me down up to three times and advised me to let go of this girl if I really want to spend the rest of life with peace of mind and that if I insist on marrying her, she doesn't have a choice than to respect my decision but she will remind me of her advice which I didn't yield to if I eventually end up as a frustrated man in the future

I've tried to terminate the relationship but she cries and makes the whole thing look like I don't love her and that if I do, I should be able to cope with her flaws. There was even a time she told me she doesn't have a choice than to respect me if I marry her and I was like WTF!

I have decided to call the relationship a quit once and for all since I'm not in for any future drama. I don't want to end up with a woman that will be rude and disrespect me in the face of my own children.

But there's one question I want to ask is that, can a ride girlfriend ever change after marriage? Is it worth taking the risk that she will change with time?
First, are you submissive? If not, please do not expect her to be.

This is why these things continue to happen in Nigeria. If people are made an example, others will learn. If she lost her job, are you not happy for the person that replaced her? If she does not value the job, let someone else take her place.

The SFO fine has already been factored into the present share price. This is a company that was trading at circa 1000p before the SFO, it's now at circa 400p whilst maintaining a healthy biannual dividend.

There are other funds that I used to be invested in, but no longer in them now. There was one that paid a fixed £100/month for a £20,000 investment. However, no capital growth though. What you get paid monthly is all you will ever expect to get regardless of how long you leave money with them. £100 for £20,000, £200 for £40,000 etc.
Thank you.

Caveat Emptor though, the reason it's cheap now is because they are currently under investigation by the SFO for soliciting for oil contracts via bribery. The investigation will soon be concluded and they will be fined heavily, about a billion pounds fine. The share price will then shoot up as business confidence rises.
Thank you for this. Aside Petrofac, please can you mention any other one? For Petrofac, I believe the price will crash if found guilty by SFO before it appreciates. I have been waiting for the investigation to be completed. People lost money when the news broke and the price hasn't recovered since.

Anyway I am wicked of paying my rent, and paying council tax, and preparing my food pack to work for the past 12 weeks, and sweeping my house daily and throwing the garbage and washing plate.

We had a 2week cooling period EON has brought bill for that, she agreed to pay power and internet, but EON sent a message to state that we have refused to pay and they'll take measures. On Monday I will call and ask them to put the bill on me so as to save myself. Yet I am a wicked man.

3months in UK all I have sent to all my siblings and parents combined is 200 pounds. I know how much I have seen her send, but i am a wicked man.

Cheers for your support for your follow woman.

Afterthought: Noticed when she was registering for energy, she stylishly added both our names so if she doesn't pay I get a message. Same I got for internet. But I am a very bad man, say another lady.

You have to start saving now. When the child is born (pray it's not twins), child care will take a big chunk of your money divorce or no divorce.
You either force some bills on her or come up with a story on how your money is required so where urgently and you cannot meet the house hold needs.

I tried a trick and it failed. I told her to randomly call a couple we knew and ask how they share Bill's at home. She called the lady and the lady told her not to involve herself
Then stop paying. This is what you have for the upkeep of the house. If it's not enough, add more.

Hard times for me. You will never understand. I can't imagine. Cooking for myself, paying the rent, throwing the garbage away, leaving in the living room, using perfume outside the house because a pregnant woman claims she reacts to perfume. If that happens in pregnancy, what will happen during the nursing stage. I can't deal. Our income are not so different sadly
I personally do not see anything wrong with those. Some pregnant women do react to such things. On the bills, you need to discuss it with her and agree on a sharing formula. If she does not do any chore at home then you may want to do a 50-50 share of bills.

I will advise that you thread carefully especially in involving lawyers. They can make you miserable financially. Try and resolve the issue (including divorce) amicably. Also start making sure that she contributes to the upkeep of the house else you will be responsible for her 100% after the divorce is confirmed. Also try and find out where her money goes in case you want to share marital assets/debts. I assume she's a doctor so should be able to take care of herself, you need to start documenting proof of this. Do not buy her expensive things. As you are both on the lease, you are both liable for the rent, if you refuse to pay, both of you will be liable, I am not sure how you want to proceed on that front.

Separation is not divorce. If you intend to divorce, it may be worthwhile for the dependent to switch as soon as possible because the 5 year 'clock' will reset when they move to another visa type. Or you could keep supporting them with the visa renewal until ILR.

justwise:
If you want good property on a cheap then go for Share Ownership or Help To Buy, Share ownership deposit is just 5% and 10% for Help To Buy.

With Help To Buy the govt will gives you 20% loan to be paid back after 5yrs though you need to have Help To Buy ISA account,( Help To Buy ISA will be closing by the end of this month)
You only need 5% for help to buy. You do not have to pay back in 5 years however if you don't, the govt starts charging you interest. Also the govt owns a percentage of the property (loan)they lent you (usually 20%). So if you sell the property, that percentage goes back to govt. If the value of the property appreciates, the government owns a share of that until you pay up.
