To be honest, I think the "heads up" the guy posted was clear enough... It's now up to you to help yourself further by at the very least getting in touch with a relevant SLOT outlet to pursue the said price.

Hey, dear twins king-Defara of the same feathers fame: some people simply become abusive once they start losing an argument. You resorted to abuse by saying I'm "talking without reasoning," shey?

Actually, it's your confusion that has become apparent, since you two now have to sleep facing the same direction. Or what else can one say, as you've resorted to "GBAM!ing" yourselves over your comparisons of the N84k Xperia Z1 and the N108k Note 3, to the E6 - a device some on here have posted goes for as low as N40k at SLOT? It really shows the level of the quality of your arguments. Hmm.

I should now have to say: good luck to the both of you, guys, with your germs infested, JJC-London alts, grin and, so long!

ignis: Why should I subscribe just because of pinging...
Beats me too oO ... it's such a funny reason over which to open a thread and urge folks to spend their hard-earned money.

Or is the thread starter an MTN agent? Otherwise why would someone advice others to dash N1,000 to MTN for the same service for which Airtel popularly charges N300? And for a similar service (WhatsApp) at N100? (The WhatsApp deal does not do attachments, though, as far as my experience with it, goes.)

And to think the OP further cheekily lures people in by speculating that may be it will start working with other apps later? Why don't you wait for that "later" before the lure, dear thread owner?

SMH.

Defaramade: personal grouse?? So getting a bigger/better battery, expandable memory slot & 4G connectivity in a FLAGSHIP PHONE is now a matter of personal grouse?? These are features which if present on the Gionee E6 will help it compete better against other smartphone brands. And for that price of 50-55k i could get me a clean uk used galaxy S3 or LG optimus G both of which I'm certain will perform better than the Gionee E6 in synthetic benchmarks, in web browsing & in heavy 3D/HD gaming.
Flagship, my a$$. Each company can designate its own flagship according to its own level in the ecosystem concerned (Gionee, compared to Sony, for example.) And in some cases, it may not even be its most technologically advanced product. You get my drift?

I thought so...you have zero, non-weathered, non-germ-infested, grin , unibody alternatives.

In any case, so you were dissing the phone based solely on your own "I'm certain" speculations? You haven't even seen any (comparative) tests? SMH.

But, reading your post again, @SMIG, it seems you probably paid for the phone upfront? If so, your best bet remains for you to direct that the delivery be rejected. Judging from testimonies on this thread this far, I believe Jumia are already aware of the issue, & you should have few delays - if any - getting your money back.

Good luck!

Defaramade: 3 things that could have made gionee elife e6 a better phone
(1)Bigger & user replaceable battery. 2020mAh battery for a full HD 5" phone, are u kidding me?? People were complaining abt the nexus 5 which had a 2300mAh not to talk of 2020mAh. This phone should have had @ least 2,600 mAh.
(2)4G LTE connectivity. This is 2013 not 2010, 3G is becoming obsolete for a flagship phone.
(3)Expandable memory slot. 32gig for a phone may seem enough, but when u start snapping pictures with d 13mp camera & load ur phone with HD videos, heavy games & music files u will see how 32 gig can quickly be exhuasted, plus you might have access to only 28 gig of that internal memory.
It's not sufficient to just list your personal grouse - some of it unrealistic - against a product. You should also state/reveal what other phone you consider a better buy, or has the features you've listed, AND IS available in Nigeria currently for about 50-55k?

If your answer is convincing, I'd learn, and consider jumping on that bandwagon. I suspect, though, that you may not be able to come up with one.

Thank you, @EvakiSales, for your detailed post in response to reader comments, it's much appreciated.

Having said the above, I think the comment expecting for your device to have come with a higher capacity battery, remains valid, especially at the price point you're presently quoting. That's the reality of the current market for such products, even after taking into account the selling points said to be unique to your product.

Also, you state that it takes well under four hours to fully charge your device. This actually makes a case for the device to have come with roughly double the capacity of the internal battery it currently has. This thinking applies at least to this part of the world, where we have roughly seven hours of sunlight during the greater part of the year. I think it's roughly so with you in India as well? You get my drift?

Make your device, as currently advertised, available for less than 12,000 Naira. Alternatively, double the current capacity of the backup battery and make it available for about 16,000 Naira. In either case, someone like me will readily go for it.

I've taken my time to write this way here because I'm genuinely interested in deploying your product and technology for my own personal and business use.

Good luck.

Gaming › Steam Rises To 65 Million Active Users, Eclipsing Xbox Live by duwdu(op): 12:51pm On Nov 03, 2013
Steam rises to 65 million active users, eclipsing Xbox Live

Steam now has more than 65 million active accounts. The figure marks a 30 percent rise in players over the last year. The video game digital-download platform also boasts daily peak concurrent users of more than 6 million.

By far Steam's most-played game is Dota 2, with more than 500,000 daily peak concurrent players. The free-to-play game saw official release this year after a long beta period, and as the sequel to the hyper-popular Defense of the Ancients mod, was quickly exposed to an existing fan base: all of whom need a valid Steam account before playing the game.

Steam is now 10 years old. Valve used its 10th anniversary as a cue to sail into uncharted waters, announcing a new operating system, game controller, and range of gaming PCs in the same year its two major console competitors are releasing new machines. In contrast to Steam's figures, Microsoft's Xbox Live has 48 million accounts — around half of whom reportedly paid extra for a gold subscription to play online in 2010 — and Sony's PlayStation Network claims 110 million.

These networks are not direct analogs to Steam: where Valve's platform is built around the digital distribution of games themselves, Sony and Microsoft's still focus on providing an online ecosystem for games obtained through physical media. But these new figures do suggest that Steam doesn't have to worry about being eclipsed: its users on their own are numerous enough to make the service a worthy competitor. Combine those 65 million accounts with League of Legends' 32 million active and World of Tanks' 45 million registered, and PC gaming looks strong, even in the face of new console challenges

Foreign Affairs › Teenager Commits Suicide After Parents Banned Her From Facebook by duwdu(op): 6:45am On Oct 28, 2013
Dear fellow Nairalanders...

Just read the following!!!

Indian teenager commits suicide after parents ban her from Facebook

This story was published: OCTOBER 27, 2013

A 17-year-old Indian girl has committed suicide after her parents banned her from accessing her own Facebook page.
Aishwarya Dahiwal, 17, was found hanged in her bedroom in the western Indian city of Parbhani after an argument with her parents over the excessive amount of time she spent on Facebook, as well as her long conversations on her mobile phone, reports Gawker.
She left a suicide note saying she couldn't live without the social networking site and blamed her parents for her actions.
"Is Facebook so bad?" she wrote. "I cannot stay in a home with such restrictions as I can't live without Facebook.
"Like all parents, their intentions were only to ensure that the girl did not go astray," the officer investigating the case, G.H Lemgude, told IBN Live.
"They advised her to concentrate on her technical studies and stay away from long mobile chats and social networking sites."
As more Indians gain access to the internet, many high school students are ditching their phones and communicating exclusively via Facebook, according to Newsweek Pakistan.
And...

A teenager in India committed suicide after her parents banned her from using Facebook. Aishwarya Dahiwal, a 17-year-old second-year college student from Parbhani in the state of Maharashtra, was found dead on Thursday morning.

Dahiwal killed herself on Wednesday night following an argument with her parents about not paying attention to her schoolwork and using social media sites like Facebook.

"Like all parents, their intentions were only to ensure that the girl did not go astray,” said investigating officer G.H. Lemgude, according to NDTV. “They advised her to concentrate on her technical studies and stay away from long mobile chats and social networking sites.”

After the argument with her parents, Dahiwal retreated to her bedroom, where she wrote a suicide note and hanged herself.

"Is Facebook so bad? I cannot stay in a home with such restrictions, as I can't live without Facebook," her suicide note reads.

Her body was found Thursday morning.

Aishwarya’s father, Sunil Dahiwal, told India Real Time that his family was in a state of shock. “We still can’t believe it,” he said. “We are in deep shock. We just wanted her to focus on her studies. We never thought she would ever take such a harsh step.”

As India Real Time reports, there have been a rash of suicides in Maharashtra. Last year, 16,112 people killed themselves there, according to the National Crime Records Bureau. Tamil Nadu was the state with the most suicides last year, with 16,297. West Bengal had 14,957 suicides last year and Karnataka had 12,753.

According to the Voice of Russia, Facebook is the preferred method of communication for teenagers in India, more so than mobile phones. Out of a population of 1.2 billion people, Facebook will be available to 200 million people in India by the end of this year.
Oh, my God!
