I cannot imagine taking any relative in need of a surgery to a GP. Infact a woman who is more likely to be delivered via caesarean section should attend her ANC under a consultant-led unit.

Imo state university Teaching Hospital received a consignment of moribund CT and MRI equipment some years back which was never installed due to their questionable functionality.
Yet he jets off to London because of a minor laceration to get a CT/MR scan.
This to me is an impeachable offence.
The estacode used for this trip will go a long way in procuring a CT machine for the state.

if a doctor cannot perform some simple surgeries like appendectomy, herniorraphy and if possible a laparotomy, then he is a useless doctor...

In fact, if an ordinary doctor cant perform a caesearean section, he is doomed!!!

All these do not need specialists, its only in severe cases like cancers, "hole in the heart", and other congenital anomalies do we need the skilled hands of a specialist...

There are no shopping malls in Anambra!
There are no good roads in Anambra; not even in Awka where the governor lives. You need to see the deputy governor's street - pathetic.
No skyscraper (I haven't seen any) in Onitsha nor Awka.
Enugu's much better in terms of development than Anambra, Delta, Edo or Oyo. Good road-networks, awesome buildings, lots of supermarkets, shopping malls (like Shoprite) and yes, nice people.

The OP says developed states not state capitals.
Outside, Enugu city, Enugu is basically rural wasteland apart from parts of Nsukka and Agbani unlike Anambra that is most urban/ semiurban and developed.
Anambra has the best intra state roads in the east.
Yes some parts of Onitsha may be subpar but u can drive to most towns in Anambra without stress.
Same cannot be said for Enugu.
Enugu city is ok but u need to get around more to see what i'm saying.
