I corrected that notion, by letting you know that the decision was above their pay grade.
And making it clear that the airport status as international only came to fruition under GEJ.
The neglect is still there cause even after over a year of closure it is not complete.
Abuja took 3 months for a runway expansion and terminal, Kaduna took less.

The main reason for the closure was the runway. I believe since that is 100% complete, the airport can open while other civil works on the building et al continue.

Night landing equipment is not fully installed, and drainage is not completed.

The airport got its first ever runway expansion to take wide bodied aircraft and automatic ILS, under GEJ with Stella Oduah as minister hence its conversion to international.
She started the international terminal building up to 50% completion,which has not seen a single brick laid on it since 2015.

This is a runway refurbishment which should actually be routine for every airport periodically, it was only done because ET cried out.

Even though it took over 365 days its is still incomplete, recall that Abuja which is much bigger took only 3 months for a fresh runway, terminal and Kaduna even took shorter to complete the refurbishment.

It seems the FG is totally uncommitted to actually refurbishing this airport.

Not a single brick has been laid on the international terminal since the so called upgrade.
And after being shutdown for a year the runway is barely ready

This is the current state of AIIA, Enugu, that was closed down for a year on the 'excuse' they want to fix the runway and add night-time landing facilities. Remember when Sirika closed down Abuja airport to fix its runway, everything was done and dusted in a little over a month....and he also codedly used the opportunity to do up Kaduna airport nicely and upgrade its status to INTERNATIONAL!

Remember all peoples and regions are supposed to be equal in this country! Remember we all have equal ownership to the countrys' commonwealth that is now dispproportinately being used fix the north-west while the south-east and its peoples are treated as second-class!

Just look at the unkempt surroundings of a airport they've closed down for a year, and which is due to reopen in about two weeks time! See the ugly open gutter Sirika is giving us in this 21st century when underground drainage is meant to be the standard. That ugly looking gutter and bushy surroundings is the result of the 10 billion naira Buhari 'graciously' approved for upgrade works at AIIA. Remember they didn't touch the new terminal that's now being left to rot, and i'm sure they haven't done much in the old terminal....like improve the airconditioning so we don't bake while checking in or waiting for our luggage.

I hope those of you who wonder why i despise this country can now begin to understand my position!

Enugu to Portharcourt is not even up to 250km, and the FG has been struggling with it ( yes it is a trunk A dual carriage), where are the phantom 250km rural roads?

Even the place I work, some of the locals (business owners) yesterday went to give them food...some police was even try to question them why they are giving them food till the locals put them in their place....you see and this is because our govt are not looking at them as humans...now others are doing same. Were do Nigerians get the idea that it is the duty of missions to arrange free flights for them,the missions didnt take you to those countries,you did so on your own,the mission duty is to make arrangement for approval for emergency flights that is if you can afford it,there is no budget anywhere for such.
Please note every country who makes flight arrangement for their citizens,the citizens always bear the cost.

It is the responsibility of a country to safeguard her citizens home and abroad and rescue them if stranded and in trying times.
We have become used to horrendous leadership that we are no longer aware of our rights and privileges as citizens.

It actually depends on the angle you are coming from. I agree that Ugwuanyi's performance has been below expectation, but it is not as bad as you guys are painting it.

How long will we continue to concentrate 90% of government spending on Enugu city alone?


What sense does it make to make Enugu City like Dubia while other towns like Oji River, Nsukka, Agbani, Agwu etc are left without basic infrastructure.

Ugwuanyi may have failed in a lot to things but one area he is trying to leave a legacy is in RURAL INFRASTRUCTURE and i commend him highly on that.

His predecessor uplifted the city and did 1000x more in the rural areas.
He has no excuse, he simply has performed very poorly.
This thread is a clear testimony.
Just take a look at the disastrous quality of the meagre projects he initiated.
No need putting a lipstick on anything.
The question is if he can redeem his image with the time he has left.

I have been using my phone without issues.
I don't know what people do with their phones.

Besides there is a market for everyone no need to force another brand down one's throat, buy what you want and let others be.
