One cannot just rank hospitals without any definable basis. There are so many hospitals that offer very specialized treatment. |
Rgade:Very sad indeed A road that runs right through the city I mean the Enugu-Onitsha road /Abakpa junction axis. I guess he is telling himself it is a federal road. A road his predecessor paved and put streetlights on has been left abandoned and unmotorable. Picture if Awka had left the section of that road passing through abandoned, or even Onitsha citing federal road as excuse. I don't see the rationale in abandoning your state capital. |
slimthugchimee2:What does it take to mend a pothole? Even if he lacks the will to construct a new road, what of mending a pothole. I find it incomprehensible and utterly despicable that a government cannot even mend a pothole on a major road in her state capital. There is no excuse whatsoever, especially as these roads were left to rot right before your eyes. |
I won't lie the snake is beautiful |
Do I know anyone who has died of COVID-19? Unfortunately yes, lost a co worker within 6 days after he became ill. It made the reality of the situation very lucid. Do I know anyone who has tested positive? I know several. At a point a third of our hospital staff were in isolation. Over 18,000 people (probably underreported) have died in the UK from COVID-19. Is COVID-19 in Nigeria? Trust me it is and it is grossly underreported. Don't play with your life. Stay safe |
Matrimonous:Modern medicine is evidence based, and guided by scientific research. The evidence before us is simple, this is a new virus that has caused significant devastation. The countries that instituted strict lockdown, travel restrictions wide spread testing and use of face masks early, example New Zealand, The Czech republic, Taiwan, South Korea etc, saw a dramatic reduction in new cases and were able to reduce transmission to a barest minimum. On the contrary the countries who did otherwise or instituted late lockdown like USA, etc are dancing a different tune. |
Neoteny7:Exactly Was expecting to see a field with a net across it instead I saw a table. |
YorubaKinging:If only you are at the front line and have witnessed the devastation then you will not type this rubbish |
I am a critic of this governor but for this I will commend him. He did good |
StDonE:Thank you very much. That big structure built by Sullivan, has been lying abandoned for years throughout his two tenures despite needing just a little boost to get it equipped. In fact if I can recall there was a public bid to get it equipped but like all his phantom media hype it fizzled away. It should have been a very modern diagnostic center providing employment to hundreds. All of a sudden he remembers it and uses it to get media attention yet again. |
babyfaceafrica:Perhaps I quoted UK NHS where prince Charles lives https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection#what-you-can-do-to-help-yourself-get-better There instructions are more explicit and take more scenarios into consideration. You can read it. |
babyfaceafrica:If one is already showing symptoms, like prince Charles was, then the period to isolate is 7 days (after this time it is presumed you are no longer infectious), if one is asymptomatic but has come in contact with a sick person, the period of isolation is 14 days. After 14 days it is unlikely that you have contracted the disease if asymptomatic. This is because the period of incubation is about a maximum of 14 days. What it means is that someone who is already showing symptoms like prince Charles was, contracted the disease some days (assumed 7) earlier and will need to isolate for a shorter period to become non infectious. I hope this helps. |
Very transparent society |
The British PM just announced that there should be no more public gatherings of greater than 2 people. Has also asked that all non essential shops eg clothing, electronics etc be shut down. The train services have gone haywire with multiple cancelations making commuting a nightmare for those of us in essential services, but this is understandable as most people are staying at home. London Euston was very scanty. Ridiculously long queues at malls but priority is given to health workers. I pray this passes quickly. |
gloriaunobi:I have accounts with both banks and i actually prefer union bank services to zenith. |
Oblongata:Have you ever thought of it the other way round. What if it was actually someone trying to fraudulently transfer funds After all the account has been quiet |
GuyMan50:Alligators are not native to Africa. |
For medical students, becoming good doctors lies on there ability to merge the general medical knowledge(basic medical and clinical sciences) and CLINICAL SKILLS thought them in the wards, clinics, theaters, ER etc in patient management. PhD sounds good on paper but is in reality not readily applicable to core clinical skills training of different medical sub specialities. Residency training is a combination of supervised CLINICAL SKILL ACQUISITION and individualized CLINICAL RESEARCH carried out over a minimum given time period usually 4 to 10 years in the relevant sub speciality. It involves at least one full thesis and depending on the speciality and college 10 to 20 evidence based research inspiring case reports. The training is split in two parts with a full clinical/lab research thesis written in one or both parts. It is much more advanced than a PhD offered in any Nigerian university. |
I noticed that Many people are finding it difficult to comprehend the location of the building. Ugwuanyi has lost some weight which is good for his health but he still has that "perpetually lost" facial expression. I wonder how much was spent on this. Meanwhile the ICCentre and hotel presidential are still lying in neglect despite all the noise of proposed renovation |
ArinzeAnthony03:I feel sorry for you. |
Committees set up to share loot to cronies. Meanwhile infrastructure is zero. |
Ugwuanyi is a colossal failure The secretariat in the capital is uncompleted and has been left abandoned for 5 years now, yet he goes to Nsukka to start a new one. What is really wrong with this man? |
Rgade:This is true. The masses hold the real power to demand for better leadership but they keep silent and expect some magic to happen. The vocal ones are bought over with a few crumbs falling from the table. A thread that was bombarded with new projects and accelerated to over 500 pages hardly ever gets any substantial update because there is simply nothing to update. |
How much is 2006 Nissan pathfinder ecu |
biafrandream:It is a pathetic situation Hope he gets prosecuted. The lack of new development in this thread is just a mirror of the reality on ground. |
sonature1:He didn't do anything in the rural area. Don't be deceived. |
chiol:What has this got to do with the gross incompetence of the present government. As a matter of fact the previous government did more work for Nsukka zone by connecting the capital city to Nsukka and bypassing the death trap that was the federal road. If you read well through this article you can see that the bulk of the contracts are flimsy The rest will remain on paper just like the rest of his flag offs eg The diagnostic centre that was allegedly equipped (largely built by Chime) is being threatened by weeds The international conference centre - he put street lights and bamboo around it and it will remain like that till his tenure ends The road rehabilitation project in town is total sham with poorly mixed cement plastered here and there while the rest have been left cut open. Absolutely nothing of note in the rural area. In essence since 5 years he has built Opi Nsukka and Miliken hill Nothing else no incentive to attract businesses, nothing. The sad thing is he will start gunning for senate after this and he will get support from sycophants. Which will be the beginning of the end for Enugu state as it will end up like Abia |
Wrong diagnosis has become a major and lingering crisis afflicting Nigeria’s medical sector. No wonder, those who could afford it, including the nation’s president and the political leaders, whenever they fall ill, dust their passports and head to Europe, America, Middle East and Asia to seek help. Absolute junk reportage. Trying to justify politicians traveling outside to seek medical care. Do you know what is required to make a diagnosis? How many government hospitals have a functional up to date CT scan? I mean 64 or 128 slices How many functional MRI scanners 1.5T How many fluoroscopy machines How many nuclear imaging centers How many can do frozen slices How many auroanalizers? How many theatre c arms? You take off and run to a country with all the facilities and think diagnosis is by magic? |
naijadrivablog:Very observant of you. I was just about to give that reference, that it was used to convey royals to the Japanese emperor's coronation. |
Sensible people preserving their wildlife |
If it is here they will arrest the taxi driver. |
