The governor, however, warned against speaking ill of President Buhari and governors of various states in the country, noting that castigating the President will not add any value to the progress of the country.
Absolute nonsense. Our sin as citizens of Nigeria is silence. Seeing obvious wrong and looking the other way. The silly culture of managing. |

Is there any law that prohibits the Enugu state government from repairing the damaged parts of Enugu-Onitsha road that passes through the centre of the capital city? Between the 82 division and trans ekulu is not motorable on one side and this is putting tremendous pressure on the ekulu bridge/flyover. That structure is a ticking time bomb. The previous government did a lot of work in the city center and high streets. One was expecting this government to pick up and complete other suburbs and huge population hubs like Abakpa and Emene which are key to keeping housing costs affordable and the city livable. But they are just docile. To me this is a deliberate way to tactfully loot. This government as far as I'm concerned has no interest in doing any novel project. They are just shortchanging the electorate. If Enugu continues on this part of a particular party ticket guaranteeing victory at the polls the state will be run aground. It is just a matter of time. |

I read the post and all I got is that a few people gathered with sticks in front of someone's house waiting to be addressed. What this tells me is that it is clearly politically motivated possibly by local South African opposition who have keyed into the unfortunate situation. But the knee jerk response we will get here soon is let's burn MTN,loot ShopRite or DStv which is a stupid self mutilating reaction. We will just be hurting our economy and putting people out of jobs. How many Nigerians have died on our hell holes called roads in the past few days, hundreds. How many people have carried placards to the federal or State ministries of works, zero. How many Nigerians we're killed in the "xenophobic attacks, zero. How many jobs have been lost from our silly knee jerk response, hundreds. |

ornicus: its so funny reading the same silly pikins who curse buhari about the state of the nation everyday, blithely talking ignorantly
i was at shoprite festac on saturday
place is still closed
the shoprite proper has security guards , checkout personnel, managers, stackers - anything from 20 to 40 staff theres a new eatery - bukka hut - that has at least 10 to 12 staff [cooks, cleaners, servers, etc] your average store has 3 to 5 staff [skechers, office depot, miniso, etc], and there are at least 10 to 15 shops you also have debonair pizza, mr biggs, the cinema, ice cream shops you have the staff manning entrance, exit and the tokens
none of these people are working right now.
shoprite festac alone probably accounts for 400 to 500 workers , maybe more.
and that is shoprite festac. now think of a much bigger mall like shoprite lekki which actually had destruction and which may remian closed until all insurance issues are sorted out.
this is what the looters and those foolish, brain dead , cognitively challenged jokers supporting them have achieved. businesses are shut down, and staff are going unpaid. I am happy some people still reason straight. I am totally perplexed how looting franchises and Nigerian owned businesses is equivalent to revenge. |

For gratuity, u re right, though Sullivan too took lots of years to pay his, not like they don't want to pay, but you should understand that, the money ain't there, that's the simple truth. For pensions, i don't know what you are really saying, cuz my Dad receives his every single month, unless you are talking about local government retirees, that one is plainly not under the Governor's control, but the LGA chairman. The first picture is African Civet, we call it Ediabali, I don chop the meat several times.
The second picture is Hyena, I have never seen it in the East whether dead or alive, let alone eating the neat,
I have seen antelopes in action in the South East, I have seen many animals which I don't know their English names and probably they don't have English names You are correct. Never heard of hyenas in the present day south east. Hyenas are apex predators there is not enough wildlife to support them in the SE. |

The picture up there is not exactly a Sentra but a Sylphy. They are similar though but different markets. That is Sentra is mainly for north America while Sylphy is for parts of Asia mainly China. I hope they keep the exact design for the north American market. Sometimes they change it. |

But then, the whole aim of all professions and research is to better human life. Even the animals that we're saving, it's only because their death will affect us adversely.
That said, we shouldn't compromise human life for animal life.
What I don't support is the deliberate hunting of endangered animals. But killing the harmful ones that stray into human residence is quite necessary. My opinion. Pythons are essentially harmless Infact they are useful. They keep the rodent population in check As a matter of fact, Lassa fever belt in the southeast for example is skewed in the direction of areas that eat reptiles (and rodents). |

He has got to be the worst governor Enugu state has had in a democratic dispensation.
Enugu's infrastructure is hanging on a thread and would have collapsed long ago if not because of the solid works done by his predecessor. In his 4 years he did only Miliken Hill and Opi road yet his picture is on every nook and cranny. |

Octopusssy: Chai, see skillz!! You cannot beat experience. Never.
It reminds me of the Etihad pilot who was able to land with a blown out front tyre. The tyre blew just as he lifted off at Abu Dhabi. He radioed ahead that he was going to arrive Lagos limping.
When he was approaching the Lagos run way, he tilted the plane to the left (the blow tyre was on the right) and hit the runway with the left tyre. The plane taxied at full speed, tilted to the left.
He kept moving.
And moving.
And moving
I say he kept moving...
Finally, when he engaged the reverse thrusters, he slowly, oh, so slowly shifted the plane from the left tilt and righted it so that the blow out tyre was able to run without affecting the taxi.
All the emergency vehicles that were gathered on the runway in anticipation of a royal fvckup cheered the pilot as he finally taxied to a stop in style.
Whew! To be a pilot takes guts. Did you make this up? |
