This governor is the most clueless governor in Nigeria. The white building is the multi billion naira untra Medical Diagnostic and Research Centre built by Sullivan Chime administration but that fool refused to equip it. Had he equipped it, Enugu State would have been one of the testing centres in Nigeria. The Nsukka isolation centres is a renovated office block at the formal ESUTH Medical school Nsukka. ESUTH medical school was formally at Nsukka campus before Chimaroke Nnamani administration moved it to Park Lane general hospital after upgrading the hospital. I leave in Enugu and I am 100% sure of what I am saying.

That big structure built by Sullivan, has been lying abandoned for years throughout his two tenures despite needing just a little boost to get it equipped. In fact if I can recall there was a public bid to get it equipped but like all his phantom media hype it fizzled away.
It should have been a very modern diagnostic center providing employment to hundreds.
All of a sudden he remembers it and uses it to get media attention yet again.

If one is already showing symptoms, like prince Charles was, then the period to isolate is 7 days (after this time it is presumed you are no longer infectious), if one is asymptomatic but has come in contact with a sick person, the period of isolation is 14 days. After 14 days it is unlikely that you have contracted the disease if asymptomatic.
This is because the period of incubation is about a maximum of 14 days.
What it means is that someone who is already showing symptoms like prince Charles was, contracted the disease some days (assumed 7) earlier and will need to isolate for a shorter period to become non infectious.

Very transparent society

The British PM just announced that there should be no more public gatherings of greater than 2 people.
Has also asked that all non essential shops eg clothing, electronics etc be shut down.
The train services have gone haywire with multiple cancelations making commuting a nightmare for those of us in essential services, but this is understandable as most people are staying at home.

Ridiculously long queues at malls but priority is given to health workers.

For medical students, becoming good doctors lies on there ability to merge the general medical knowledge(basic medical and clinical sciences) and CLINICAL SKILLS thought them in the wards, clinics, theaters, ER etc in patient management.

PhD sounds good on paper but is in reality not readily applicable to core clinical skills training of different medical sub specialities.

Residency training is a combination of supervised CLINICAL SKILL ACQUISITION and individualized CLINICAL RESEARCH carried out over a minimum given time period usually 4 to 10 years in the relevant sub speciality.
It involves at least one full thesis and depending on the speciality and college 10 to 20 evidence based research inspiring case reports.
The training is split in two parts with a full clinical/lab research thesis written in one or both parts.

It is much more advanced than a PhD offered in any Nigerian university.

A Nairaland-based Enugu governor PR says that he focused on rural development in his first term.

So, this second term, he will concentrate on the urban centers. Enugu, in my opinion, doesn't have deplorable infrastructure. The governor just needs to intervene in critical places like Emene and Abakpa. For instance, Abakpa junction and Holy Ghost roundabout need flyovers. Those places experience chaotic traffic at Christmas.

I have not visited Enugu since last Christmas, but I think the rural areas deserve more government intervention. Some of them have terribly bad roads and without electricity. If they are neglected, it will lead to massive rural-to-urban migration, thus ramping up rents in the city.

Yes he did more work in Enugu north, Enugu south, Enugu east and Udi LGAs with huge debt. The remaining 14 LGAs were abandoned yet they are paying for the loans used for the projects in the four LGAs.

Nsukka zone (7 LGAs) did not benefit apart from the road between Enugu east and Nsukka LGAs. Please list the projects executed in Igbo - Eze north, Igbo - Eze south, Udenu, Igbo - Etiti, Uzo - Uwani, Isi - Uzo and Nsukka LGAs.

Note that each of these LGAs in Nsukka zone is bigger or equal to each of the LGAs like Udi, Ezeagu, Awgu, Aninri, Enugu north, south and east both in land mass and population. Whenever something is done in Nsukka LGA, people from other zones will think that the project is for the whole Nsukka zone. The zone is made up of 7 LGAs.

What has this got to do with the gross incompetence of the present government.
As a matter of fact the previous government did more work for Nsukka zone by connecting the capital city to Nsukka and bypassing the death trap that was the federal road.
If you read well through this article you can see that the bulk of the contracts are flimsy

eg The diagnostic centre that was allegedly equipped (largely built by Chime) is being threatened by weeds
The international conference centre - he put street lights and bamboo around it and it will remain like that till his tenure ends
The road rehabilitation project in town is total sham with poorly mixed cement plastered here and there while the rest have been left cut open.
Absolutely nothing of note in the rural area.

In essence since 5 years he has built Opi Nsukka and Miliken hill

The sad thing is he will start gunning for senate after this and he will get support from sycophants.

Is there any law that prohibits the Enugu state government from repairing the damaged parts of Enugu-Onitsha road that passes through the centre of the capital city?
Between the 82 division and trans ekulu is not motorable on one side and this is putting tremendous pressure on the ekulu bridge/flyover.
That structure is a ticking time bomb.
The previous government did a lot of work in the city center and high streets.
One was expecting this government to pick up and complete other suburbs and huge population hubs like Abakpa and Emene which are key to keeping housing costs affordable and the city livable.
But they are just docile. To me this is a deliberate way to tactfully loot.
This government as far as I'm concerned has no interest in doing any novel project.
They are just shortchanging the electorate.
If Enugu continues on this part of a particular party ticket guaranteeing victory at the polls the state will be run aground.
It is just a matter of time.

the shoprite proper has security guards , checkout personnel, managers, stackers - anything from 20 to 40 staff
theres a new eatery - bukka hut - that has at least 10 to 12 staff [cooks, cleaners, servers, etc]
your average store has 3 to 5 staff [skechers, office depot, miniso, etc], and there are at least 10 to 15 shops
you also have debonair pizza, mr biggs, the cinema, ice cream shops
you have the staff manning entrance, exit and the tokens

none of these people are working right now.

shoprite festac alone probably accounts for 400 to 500 workers , maybe more.

and that is shoprite festac. now think of a much bigger mall like shoprite lekki which actually had destruction and which may remian closed until all insurance issues are sorted out.

this is what the looters and those foolish, brain dead , cognitively challenged jokers supporting them have achieved. businesses are shut down, and staff are going unpaid.
