Whenever I'm traveling and an immigration officer asks me for money. I look straight into the person's eye and tell him that I DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY FOR YOU. And I say it out in a loud voice. That is a clear warning shot of potential trouble. They usually hand over my passport very quickly. |

Ugwuoke347: Congratulations to the most humane governor to ever occupy Lion House. For one thing, Enugu State has been steadily on the rise under his watch.
He could do more in terms of projects. There is so much work to do. I believe he knows that. He really must get re-elected. There is plenty of work in need of attention. His second tenure must be that of work, and work and work. History waits upon him with its verdict right in the making! He had 4 years and didn't do anything. Enugu actually stagnated under his watch |

Galaxyowerri: I hope you do know what aesthetically pleasing means? If you do and you know Owerri very well, then you wouldn't be asking such question!! I have lived in or at least visited almost all the major cities in Nigeria, so when I gave it Owerri, I know what I'm saying. I do know what aesthetics mean. Just different standards here. I said Owerri has the potentials but the usual December abracadabra that the governor does which washes away with the first drop of rain should not deceive you. |

Galaxyowerri: Very true, I was strolling along Whetheral road this Sunday morning and the atmosphere was really superb and very lovely: wide road, covered drainage and beautiful houses all around! Owerri will soon knock off P.harcourt to become Nigeria's third most aesthetically pleasing city!; Owerri aesthetically pleasing? It has the potential definitely, if its fertile land that can support greenery and relatively good planning is explored but for now it's a long way off. If I may as which are the first 2 cities? |

This was an off set frontal collision on the Highlander due to the driver swerving to avoid the Corolla which was impacted in the front beam Older vehicles do poorly with this test, and it is a relatively new crash test added by NCAP and other testing bodies. |

nurey: A Google search should point you to the right direction. It has to do with redirecting the radiator hose feeding the transmission to somewhere else. Just a lay man's definition of what to do. It was a design flaw in the pathfinder and xterra after that fire your vehicle and enjoy peace of mind Thanks a lot. Leaning towards the Pathfinder |
Car Talk › Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by eaglechild: 9:10pm On Sep 26, 2018 |
nurey: The 2006 Nissan pathfinder has a flaw which is corrected by radiator bypass without doing this you can damage your transmission early. With the bypass done the pathfinder is a very rugged car and reliable too, the V6 or V8 ensures you have power and the acceleration is top notch. The LE or SE has well built interior with necessary gizmo to keep you company during on road and off road usage.
The Volvo XC90 is a versatile well built SUV with its 5seater or 7 seater variant you will enjoy enough room and cargo space. The well built safety features ensure you and your family are safe in any mild crash or roll over. Its an SUV you would enjoy.
luxury finish Volvo wins Reliability Pathfinder off road ability Draw fuel economy Pathfinder power Pathfinder maintenance Pathfinder
The volvo is not a loser but needs care and parts most times can be scarce to source. The T5 is the most basic engine fitted but still gives kazeem headache.
The pathfinder is an all round reliable vehicle as reliable as Toyota 4runner yet cheaper to procure. Thanks a lot. Vehicle will be mainly for not too frequent weekend interstate trips. Both are similarly priced ( the Pathfinder has a lower mileage and has been used very sparingly by a close relative who has a fleet of cars, whom I'm trying to convince to let it go) Please how is the bypass done. Heard of it before but I don't know the level of expertise needed to effect it |

Travel › Re: A Massive Sinkhole On Niger State Road (photos) by eaglechild: 6:57am On Sep 05, 2018 |
MobilityExpress: OP is right, this is 100% a sinkhole! This is not erosion. Erosion washes top surface away. Sinkhole sinks a hole in between anywhere, and some holes can be as long, wide as a town, and deep as a sea floor. Biggest known sinkhole was about 120km wide and 80km long, and the deepest known is over 300m deep. How do you survive that kind of fall? Scary stuff. Known to swallow buildings, cars, people and anything on it. Only few lucky ones who experienced it have survived a sinkhole. It’s a natural killer. Sinkholes are not caused by erosion. Because erosion affects top surface, the displacement of the top surface of the ground or soil. But sinkholes are caused by rock, sand and other sediments moving deep inside the ground, leading to breaks and cracks and space in between the earth inside the ground. That is absolutely not a sinkhole. It is a gully erosion. If you look at the pictures you'll notice that the gully has been enlarging along the drainage line, also notice the sand bags along the road that has been put there over time to try and curb the erosion menace |
