Shut up!!! There re no. Indigenous igbos in Rivers State

The two links he shared one is fake
The other looks like a blog.

This re the screen shots of rivers state govt ,if you think otherwise you can post the screen shots from your own and let's see which is fake
The two links he shared are real, it is yours that is fake. The both websites are government website, the first owned by the federal government and the last according to the OP the real Rivers state website non-functional for a while now. Yours is a private owned website and was never quoted even in the federal government ministry of communication page.
So, I will believe the authentic federal government website rather than your cloned one ending with net.ng. Thanks.
Culture › 8 Historical Reasons Why Ijaw claim to Ndoki Is Baseless. by Eastlink(op):
The Ijaw claim to the ownership of Ndoki and Ibaniland as being peddled by Ijaw people here on nairaland is built on falsehood and historical distortion. The closest connection the Ndoki and Ibani have with any other group in the south is Igbo and never Ijaw. Here are five historical reasons why the Ndoki and their Ibani kins are Igbo in origin.

1) The Ndoki's are not Ijaws in diaspora as construed by some Izons, but pure Igbo sub-group, with related ancestry with the Ngwa and other southern Igbo groups.

2) According to a section of history, the Ndoki's were said to be the original founders of Ibani. The first Bonny King and founder Ndoli Okpara was said to be an Ndoki man which thus wipes off Ijaw claims of establishing the kingdom and validating it's Igbo origin. Other Kings as Asimini, Alagbarinye were of pure Ndoki (Igbo) ancestry. The Ijaws only arrived Ibani as potters and have no legitimate claim to the founding of Ibani, thus are now bent on changing the last Igbo link (Ndoki) to Ijaws to make their fraudulent claims valid.

3)Ibani family names such as Opunsunju, Epelle, Jaja, Owujie, Ubogu, Jumbo etc are not Ijoid names but Ibani (Igbo). The Ijaw family names which now forms part of Ibani livestyle came as a result of Ijaw interaction and migration to the area.

4)The tieing of two wrappers as well as as the etibo and woko are not Ijaw attires. The attires were introduced by the early Portuguese to communities within the coast. The Ibani and Ndoki just like the Itshekiri, Urhobos, Efiks and other coastal tribes were among the first to put on the attires, because of their early contact with the white men. Other tribes followed suit and today it has become a cultural accepted practice by people of the lower niger area, Igbo inclusive.

5) The Ibani music has never been Ijoid but rather Igboid. The Ndoki's of Asa who were the orginal founders took the Igbo musical drums to the coast of Bonny. Festival such as the Nwaotam boat regatta is a testimony of early Igbo cultural influence, the same goes for the Owuogbo (Owu) festival still celebrated till this day in parts of Orlu Imo state.

6) The language been spoken today in Ndoki and Ibani is a dialect of the Igbo language mutually intelligible to both groups.

7) The earliest Igbo language Bible was first translated to Ibani(Igbo) dialect and used as a medium to propagate christianity in Igboland. Till today, the Bonny-Opobo language is considered a dialect of Igbo by linguist just like Ngwa and Etche.

8.) The Ndoki and Ibani (Bonny and Opobo) are blood relatives sharing both ancentral and cultural link in common. Thus the both groups are associated with Igbo.

Abiriba/ohohia people in abia state have same culture and dressing with ibani people of rivers. My point is that RED CAP is not what makes some one igbo, you wont understand this cause you are not igbo or even from rivers... In BORI polytechnique(ogoni hartland), wether you from ikwere, nnewi, ngwa etche etc ogoni people no wan no to them you are igbo

[s]Ndoki(Aminadokiari) are Ijaws in diaspora
1) They bear Ijaw(IBANI)family names(epelle, opusunju,jaja, jumbo
2) there dressing is Etibo and woko(ijaw attire), even the way there women tie their wrappers is the Ijaw style
3)their music is ijoid(akusa drums) in the owuogbo style
4) they see ibani ijaws as there closest relatives
5)their dialect is filled with Ijaw words.[/s]

And about that website giving you guys nightmares it is as legit as okoloama being in ndoki territory. It remains the property of rsg and managed by their ict dept

Not just the westerners, even many south-southerners are guilty of this too. Don't be suprised if that website wasn't the handy work of insiders (Ijaw Bayelsa) boys, because all my suspicions points to that direction. Especially as the Ijaw dude Ajieretuwo has been gallivanting up and down since the fake information broke out.

The website isn't the official handle of RVSG this I have observed since this month. Rivers state from time immemorial has always consist of three grouping where every tribe falls 1) Igboid, 2) Ijoid, and 3) Ogoni that even the federal government recognises this. This is the reality on ground. But, it beats my imagination how far people would go in peddling false informations? Good job Chiwude for busting the yahoo boys.
Lalasticlala front page things pls. This information is as legit as anything else.

I silent war is going on against.... and you're talking about being emotional. Dude, you guys have to do something fast before its too late. Igbos in Benue are already be eroded. It was achieved one inch at a time. Wake up and smell the coffee.
I'm being realistic nwanne. Nothing of such agenda is happening in my state. We would had feared such, had we found ourselves under an Ijaw administration, especially in the 70/80's. But now, those folks have been carved to Bayelsa to keep their Ijaw flag flying. The Ikwerres we know have no such time to obliterate the identity of others, they only want to maintain their own distinctiveness. The same goes for every other tribe in the state and as it stand everyone is simply minding their business. River state since the return of democracy has tuned down its anti-Igbo sentiment. More people now easily identify with Ndigbo which wasn't the case in the past. The inter-marriages between the SE and Rivers people is overwhelming for years now, even in cultural events and also the wearing of Igbo red cap even among the Ikwerres. Many people because of the 2011 and 2015 election are changing their mindset towards Ndigbo because of the support it gave to GEJ. Although this attitude didn't start now, but I think certain aspect of this change was engineered by the Rivers state government from the time of Peter Odili who was liberal in his tenure, down to both Omehia and Amaechi and now Wike. If you check well, you would find out that all of them had Igbo wives from the SE as well as inlaws.
So when I tell you nothing of such is happening, you have to believe me. But still we won't keep silent about the alterations in the newly upgraded website, we shall still lay our complaints to the appropriate quarters.

That recent distortion of Rivers state website to remove Igbo totally from it and render Obigbo and Egbema persona non grata is the highest height of insult on us by Wike, Wike is shameless for doing that, and when the time is right, we will all make sure he pays for that.

This is ICT age, that change in Rivers state official website has not gone unnoticed. My Igbo online groups have been discussing that lately.

It's not bad enough that Oyigbo is totally neglected by Wike with no single road being constructed there, he would now seek to deny their presence in Rivers state.

Oyigbo LGA that contributes about 22,000bopd of crude oil, and three Egbema communities in Rivers produce about 22,000bopd as well, a combined total of 44,000bopd. Meanwhile the entire Ikwerre 3 and half LGAs produce just a total of 49,000bopd, yet Wike thinks he can treat Oyigbo and Egbema like this and go free without consequences.

Wike just took Ikwerre Igbophobia to a different level all together, and this has not gone unnoticed.
It was Wole Soyinka that said 'a tiger does not need to scream it's tigritude'. Hope I got that correct. Many of my SE brothers are too emotional to a fault. We know who we are and nothing on earth can change our Igbo identity. We never basked during the anti-Igbo era of Diette-Spiff, nor in the time of Melford Okilo -two Ijaw sons, is it now that we have uplanders as Governors shall things suddely change overnight. Lol cheesy.
Well, I've checked the website and have seen the changes. But I don't think Wike is aware of such removal in the Rivers state official website. But since that has been noted, it beckons on our reps in house as well as our socio-cultural group to forward a complaint to our amiable Governor. Nyesom Wike for all I know dares not make such political mistake, because much of the support he garnered during the last election came from our axis. So, I think it's better to give him the benefit of doubt before rushing to conclusion. Maybe someone sinister in the information department who was tasked with the job of managing the website made that change. However, I believe it will be restored the way it was sooner.

You may a faint idea about them, but certainly not an authority in matters that concern their ethnicity. Some of you should learn to stop poke nosing into matters that dosent concern you. As far as the Igbo nation is concerned the identity crisis being faced by many of our people in the SS is an issue solvable within and needs no help from outsiders. We know ourselves better than you think and will solve these problems in due time.
Now, let me tell you a little secret. Am not even from the SE, but from the SS. Yet when it comes to Igbo interest, I am always ready to defend it. Igbo etbnicity is not a thing of force, but Igbo unity and nationhood is non-negotiable as far as our stay in Nigeria is concerned. Divide and rule tactics won't work with us this time.

Who sampled the statistics, you from far away west or an independent observer. That means you also sampled the Ijebus, Aworis and others who deny Yoruba. The Igbo nation cannot be balkanized by foreign voices or dissenters within. Any group claiming a new ethnicity as long as they aren't willing enough to change their Igbo language, shared cultures, traditions and customs to look completely non-Igboid are just wasting their time. Nobody is taking them serious, not even the british and other europeans who studied us even before we knew ourselves nor the farthest boundary of Igboland. Good one for the South-East. I just hope this 'Think home and build home ideals' is embraced and implemented by Ndigbo nile.
It's time to think home. But why weren't any Igbo technocrat of Rivers origin invited to the conference just like our Delta state counterparts in the same S/S? I see an Elumelu, a Pat Utomi and an Iweala, but none from our side. Although, I understand it's more of a regional conference, but the organizers should try as much as possible to make it an all comers affair, inclusive of Igbos everywhere. My suggestions though!

Nna, leave that matter for Matthias for now.

We have common foe, ie the North and their Yoruba Muslim brothers.

No need splitting hairs over irrelevant semantics for now. Whether Niger Delta or Eastern region, we are all saying same thing. If you put just Eastern region, you exclude the Western Igbos, if you put just Niger Delta, you exclude Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi.

So, you see, it doesn't matter either of the terms we use, what matters is that we establish the fact that the Yorubas and the North had always been lacking, which is why they are still clinging unto Nigerian unity till today.

Saw this pdf "Annual Report 1914, Nigeria " (see link above) which showed gross revenue between the north and southern regions after one year of almagation.

Go to page 7 and see for yourself how Nigeria's greatest revenue earner at over €1million pounds ( at least 10 times higher than any commodity export even cocoa) is proof that Niger Delta and eastern Nigeria has been feeding Nigeria since almagation.
@OP, the report states 'Eastern Nigeria' and not 'Niger-Delta'. Eastern Nigeria or Oil Rivers was what the areas contituting the palm oil belt was known as then. The term 'Niger-Delta' is a new invention, synonymous with crude oil.

The Anangs wear that cap so also the Ogoni's, Ibani's, Kalabari's, Okrika's and Eleme's. Especially during the boat regatta and other festivities. I agree with Hopeathand on this one, its more like a cultural exchange.

How do the Ijaws intend curbing militant activities after getting their ND republic? I pity other non-Ijaw minorities who intend entering into abyss with them, na sorry be their name. As for IPOB and MASSOB, the greatest mistake you will all make is including Ijaw areas into your dream republic. If you want to engage unrepentant lazy folks in an unending battle, then go with them. But if you want peace and development go with only those who share your spirit of hardwork and togetherness. You know those am talking about?
As for me and my clansmen, Biafra is where we will be at the dissolution of Naija. We have no portion with the 'We SS'. To your tent oh South-South.
