Good day Nairalnaders! Last week a thread about great women in our beloved country's history was on FP https://www.nairaland.com/609358/great-famous-women-state Unfortunately there was poor representation from the northern part of the country. ephi123 and others encouraged me to create this thread for sake of knowledge and celebrating our wonderful mothers with great lifetime achievements. I hope my fellow northerners (and everyone else) will join me contribute by adding anybody they know who deserves to be mentioned. Let me start with my state. Jigawa State Professor Ruqayyatu Ahmad Rufa'i The former senior minister of education hails from Ringim local government. It was said that even the then president Goodluck Jonathan was amazed to see her resume. That there could be a woman from Jigawa who is a Professor in Chemistry. Wing Commander Hajara Bashir Umar She is the first woman from northern Nigeria to reach that rank in the Nigeria Airforce. Thanks to her Dad who was a veteran military officer, Hajara was encouraged to join the force. A career most Muslim women would never dream of joining due to its incompatible nature with their culture and lifestyle.

TheBlessedMAN:It can guide you alright! But out of Christianity for sure. |
donmalcolm21:Lol do I look like a BMC crew member to you? While I don't support PMB resigning, I strongly believe he shouldn't contest in 2019. |
Hmm they are not referred to those who went astray for no reason. |
This is false information. The judge never gave Lamido bail yesterday nor list any conditions. He simply adjourned till 4th of may. These bail conditions are concocted by the OP, though it's captured in the Punch headline (another overated newspaper), they never listed those so called conditions in their report and neither did any other news outlet. Engineerboat shall be sanctioned for posting wrong information. cc mynd44 seun |
kolafolabi:Guy read well, not everyone has an active ATM card for online transactions, and not every student is IT savvy enough to carryout online payment successfully. So the guy does it for his colleagues and charge them some fee. Just like NYSC registration payment. The Cafe I went to register for biometric capture provide that payment option and to make the registration faster I just agreed they made the payment from their account. Anyway one of two things could have happened, and everything can take less than five minutes to verify who's fault it is. If he can provide evidence that his bank account has been debited for every transaction he carried out through his bank statement, then it's not his fault if the transaction didn't reflect on their portal. However it will definitely reflect in their bank account. If he can't provide bank statement with such proof then it means he probably just photoshoped a payment confirm for them and he shall be arrested. Flexisaf is a professional ICT firm known internationally, I doubt they'd do such a sloppy work. |
kestolove95:My sister am seriously mourning that take away. See my kinda woman. |
Who is this new mad dog on the loose? |
Lol! Islamophobes trying to blame Islam for what was actually accepted as a universal norm at that time. Good thing you have pointed out where freeing slave is encouraged and commanded as one of the best acts by a Muslim. Anyway many historians (majority non-Muslims) have agreed that Islam is actually the second best thing to happen in slavery institution second only to its abolishment few centuries ago. So knock yourself out with whatever you believe about it. |

Sunnyja:Oga park well, I have been translating Hausa news for free for this bloggers on NL. If they want be journalists they should be ready to do it properly including employing translators even freelancers. Else they leave this type of news alone. |
Chikpat:Lol! Embarrassment is just one now, I could see at least three. |
I think I have a jealousy issue as well. |
If you don't understand the language why mis-reported it? Or better still why not employ someone who can translate the news for you?. all these cheap bloggers sef! And our people too, go school dem no gree. Look at the embarrassments written on those placards. |
There's a serious problem in Nigeria's journalism. How can Punch the so called best newspaper write such a rubbish article mixing simple pronouns like she and he? Am really disappointed. |
#BabaGoSlow hopefully and steady. One of the demerits of this administration is its penchant for delays and sluggishness to do seemingly ordinary and routine things. God help us! |
Who knows Peter Obi outside SE? |
khalifahsparkles:OK Thanks for the encouragement. |
ephi123:Thanks, you too dear. |
