I am no longer interested in purchasing this refrigerator as I've realized that the owner placed it on sale last year and claimed to have been using it for 6 months which makes his claim of now using it for the past 7 months to be false. This refrigerator has been used for over a year and half. I'll rather save up to buy a new one

You are really mistaken if you think I have used the refrigerator for more than 7 months. The refrigerator is as clean and as new working condition as it is with carton and receipt. I have been on business travel for a year and the refrigerator is unplugged since then but perfectly working . You can do whatever you want with your money. Did I force you? Making it sound like I am begging you or scam you. Very childish behaviour. You asked me to ignore other buyers who have been calling after we negotiated 60k for it. Only to come later and say rubbish here without even contacting me personally about your allegation. Do you know how long I have been a registered member on nairaland or you think I am a liar or scammer or what?

If you are interested in saving and buy a new one, here is the link to their website or shop in Shoprite. A new one is 105,200 naira. You guys think because someone wants to sell a product, it means it is bad or stolen. He does building contractor. While they were dating, I met my wife. I was able to convince her to date me. And since the guy was always travelling, I was able to get close to her. I think I won her finally after we had sex. Because that first day, I scattered her brain. She later left the guy. I proposed, she accepted and we got married.

I will say, at that time I got married to my wife, her ex and I were on the same level financially. But, recently, the guy has turned to something else. He does building for people overseas. People said the guy's work is good and he is always getting contracts. My wife said he had a 2.1 in Civil Engineering. He started selling cement. He is now a dangote cement distributor. He built a duplex at the junction of my street. He has 3 cars in the compound (he recently bought 1 car during this lockdown that people are saying no money oo). I and my wife do not have any car. I am still a tenant. We have to pass front of his house every day.

During this lockdown, my office has being delaying salaries. It has not being easy. I have had quarrels with my wife in the past but yesterday was the worst. During the quarrel, she said she regrets marrying me. That if she had ignored me and married her ex, she would have being living comfortably. I almost beat her up. Then she told me that this her ex paid her school fees in 300 and 400 level when she almost pulled out of school for lack of finance. She regrets paying him back by leaving him to marry me.

Since then, I have not being myself. I just created this account to express myself.

Is your wife's ex a married man or still single?

I have a 42 year old brother who for over 18 years has been on hard drugs. He started this habit while in secondary school and couldn't finish tertiary education for same reason. Efforts made by the family to stop him from substance abuse and rehabilitate him at several occasions failed. Each time such effort is made, he recovers after a while but returns to the habit. Currently, he has become mentally deranged and there seems to be no solution at sight.

He has been admitted to different psychiatric hospitals on two occasions. At both times, he was treated and confirmed fit and sound to return to the society. The moment he was discharged, he quickly went back to his old ways and all the resources spent went into the drain. In one of the occasions, we were strongly advised to engage him as joblessness was one of the greatest problem causing the abuse. We got him engaged by securing a fantastic job which he also left after a week of working there. Other meaningful efforts geared towards engaging him to enable him to become occupied and start earning a living as a man also didn’t work out.

We have organised prayer sessions by powerful men of God, nothing has happened yet. I do want to sound like someone without faith. I strongly believe that our able God will make things beautiful at His time. However, the situation has gone out of control and we need to act fast.

These, amongst many, are some of the interventions already done by the family and we cannot fold our arms and watch people mock us in shame every day due to his abnormal activities in the community.

Now what he does is forcefully, take money from our aged mum, sell any family property at sight in exchange for money to buy his drugs. Beat my mum up at any slightest refusal to give him money. He has been jailed many times for committing several offences related to this habit, yet the problem persists. Maybe we have not applied the best approach?

I am calling on fellow Nairalanders to assist with solutions. I believe there are some of us here who may have experienced this problem in one way or the other, or have an advise to give to solve this lingering painful situation. Your personal or professional experience (s) may go a long way in salvaging this situation for us.

I believe a problem shared is a problem solved.

He probably committed suicide because after the divorce, he didn’t know how to pay back the money.
The wife and her family might have been his back up plan in repaying the loan. I don’t necessarily think he took his own life because he missed his wife so much.
More like he didn’t see things working out according to his plan. Which is sad. May he Rest In Peace

How much will it cost me if you are to build this similar 6blocks of 2 bedroom flats building for me on a dry land in Lagos?

I will get in touch with my estate company that I am not interested in estate land anymore. My money should be refunded. I will buy individual or family land who give deed of assignment. From my conversation with homeowners in nice estates in lekki axis who were given deed of sub lease, they also look worried if it won't create a problem for their children in future after they inherit their houses. What happens after the deed of sub lease expire, they don't know too? I can't take that risk abeg.

It is deed of sub lease. I asked some homeowners in Royal garden estate lekki, Diamond estate, Victory park estate, osapa lekki etc. They all confirmed they were given deed of sub lease too.

I made an investigation. I discovered most so called Private estates in Lagos give Deed of sub lease to outright buyers. Except if you buy land from individual or omonile/family land, you get deed of assignment. These modern private estate companies are not to be trusted.

I bought a land in a gated estate developed by a very popular real company in Lagos. Among the title documents of my purchased land given, I noticed Deed of sub-lease was given to me rather than the usual Deed of Assignment. I have been worried by the word " Deed of sub-lease".

Is it that the estate company still owns the land I have legally bought from them and only leasing it to me for number of years. Does that mean I am still a glorified tenant in the estate even if I build house on my land in the estate? Why can't they issue Deed of Assignment like Omonile do? So that after 99 years of certificate of occupancy, Me ( if still alive) or my children in future will renew it directly from the government. Is it safe for me to accept the deed of sub-lease? The word sub-lease is just irritating to me after spending millions of naira buying land in the estate.

My mind is telling me that after the Deed of sub-lease expires, the estate companies may legally take over houses and land in their estates in future.

Although my people are saying building such small house is a waste on that land since the land is expensive. I won’t use all my small savings to build house Na.

Nice one by the court. This judgement will deter owing tenants who think they can outsmart landlords who suffered to build their houses. Some wicked tenants won't pay their rents but have money to buy a car and maintain it. Nonsense.

8 years, 8 solid years of sacrificing my effort, support, care was shattered in just few minutes.
Got her as my girlfriend in 2012 and we got married in 2016.

I have a juice production company that has a good product and customers like our product. We started production last month. We are facing serious challenges of delivery vehicle due to inadequate capital which is affecting the business. For instance, we don't have a delivery vehicle to distribute our products to customers' shops and supermarket. We usually hire vehicle and it costs us money. We have orders to supply supermarkets in VI and lekki since Monday. We haven't delivered till now because hired vehicle don't want to go too far from the mainland. Also, our working capital is too small.

Sometimes I ponder if the business will eventually put through the challenges of inadequate capital we are facing. Cause my fear is the business not failing due to insufficient capital. I hate failure. It is not like I didn't envisage the challenges before starting it. It's just that my money is not enough after setting up the factory, acquiring machinery and diesel generator and NAFDAC registration fees. I had to start production with what was left with. Lekki and V. I forget Ikoyi completely. Given the short distance between lekki and V. I You should be able to visit both areas. Although Lekki is the best amongst all three areas. Also try Ajah Badore Abraham Adesanya and Sango Tedo as these areas and lekki have high numbers of supermarkets
