It is interesting that they keep choosing Nigeria over other African countries, I WONDER WHY ?? ![]() Is life in Nigeria so different from Ghana, Senegal, Namibia Tanzania, Liberia etc, ? any ideas people , ? |
At first - I did not believe that first picture, One thing is true: In Nigeria of today, that can never happen again. Even a local Govt Councillor will not seat on a Clean bench with his kids, let-alone take a public photo on it for the media, !! |
At least it happened at home in Nigeria, Not at a UN security summit or somewhere abroad so let us for give him.. We nigerians often try to prove our abilities, even when we haven't practiced or prepared. |
ONE WAY TO HAVE SILENCED THIS ZONING TALKS IN THE NORTHERNERS SILLY HEAD, IS : IF GEJ GONE FOR ANOTHER PARTY LIKE ACN OR ANY, WITH THE MILLIONS OF SUPPORTERS HE HAS, WOULD HAVE OVERTHRONE THE PDP AND THE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SPEAK OF ZONING DURING THE ELECTION. THEY ARE ACTING AS IF THE PDP IS THE ONLY PARTY IN THE COUNTRY, any outsider will think that this zoning is part of the Nigerian constitution as its all over the news, when it only exist in the PDP. If only GEJ campaigned on a different party, with all his supporters the pdp will be sillenced |
as okah has been permitted by the presidency to name the culprits, he should let the world know who, otherwise he is a damned liar, paid by the northerners |
NORTHERN POLITICIANS (ALIAS ZONING EXPERTS) ARE BEHIND THIS, WITH A MISSION TO DE-THRONE JONATHAN BECAUSE HE'S A SOUTHERNER |
If you say Nigeria is better off without Jonathan, give your reasons, and mention who exactly is better as president in the Nigeria that is full of dishonest politicians. Me, I think Nigeria today is better WITH jonathan. As all the other crooks will do worse if they were in his position. I think Jonathan is truly interested in building a better Nigeria (, dont have enough time to write all my reasons here) But dont critisize him without mentioning your reasons why. |
I have just checked, and Nigeria Ranks 43rd worst - AT POSITION 130 (see link attached) in the Global Corruption Index, So we are actually not really that corrupt compared to other countries - even Russia is far more corrupt than Nigeria. http://www.transparency.org/policy_research/surveys_indices/cpi/2009/cpi_2009_table |
He wants to benefit from a democracy (in nigeria today) which he didnt help to create. He stalled a chance 17years ago to bring democracy to nigeria but today he wants to reep from it. |
The award of contracts for the supply of about 132,000 units of direct data capture (DDC) machines for the voters registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to largely foreign vendors has drawn outright condemnation from Nigerian IT professional bodies including the Nigerian Computer Society, Information Technology Association of Nigeria, ITAN and the Institute of Software Professionals of Nigeria, ISPON , the Nigerian Internet Group, (NIG) as local players were left in the cold. The core issue and concern of Nigerian IT experts and software practitioners and professional bodies is that Nigeria may pay a great price down the line if our national database is left for foreign agents to manage. Major concern among Nigerian IT experts, however were that award of the contract to foreign vendors would lead to capital flight and as such, will not in any way encourage local players who have been sidetracked in the execution of government IT jobs. Meanwhile, Haier Thermocol, Zinox and US based ICT firm, Avant Technology after Lenovo was dropped were said to have been awarded the contract for supply of INEC’s DDC machines for the voter’s automation process ahead of 2011 general elections. While there is general expectations that both the hardware and software aspect of INEC’s DCC machine should be controlled by indigenous solution providers, experts in the Nigerian IT industry who spoke to Vanguard CyberLIFE noted without mincing words that the present posture of the government in sidelining other local Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) including Beta Computers, Omatek, Brian Integrated Systems and other indigenous software makers in the deployment of solution for the automation process raises some sort of doubts in their commitment to support local capacity. With this development, the professional bodies had queried for awarding the contract for the supply of thousands of notebooks, webcams, printers, back up batteries, finger print scanners, among others that make up the DCC to foreign vendor when local vendors in the Nigerian ICT sector have the capacity to do the same job. Majority of IT professionals who reacted on the present government postured noted that they were not consulted in the e-automation process. For the President of Nigerian Computer Society, Professor Uwadia, neither CPN nor NCS was consulted before the decisions were taken. “The position of NCS on substantial local content in all IT contracts remain. This position has been made known to the new INEC Chairman at our last meeting with him. “It is also important for the country to continue to assist the local oems in building sufficient capacity in order to avoid reliance on importation which eventually leads to capital flight. NCS has continued to canvass the protection of local industry as well as government patronage through implementation of existing policy on it” he said. On the timeline for the exercise, the NCS President believed that if all parties involved play their role properly and on time too, the exercise is achievable within the scheduled time line. Full story - VanguardNG: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/09/2011-electionsconcern-mounts-over-data-security-software-issues/ I think if possible every contract at local, state and federal level in Nigeria should be awarded to foreign businesses as they are often more reliable at handling contract (even at the cost of not developing our own contractor/facility etc) This is because Nigerian Construction contractors , etc, have never been good at completing the job they are given, we will benefit more if companies from Germany US UK japan etc were were responsible. , or is it better to keep handing contracts to Nigeria businesses (to develop our own capacity) even when they keep running away with the money ![]() |
It seems like INEC means business at making the election truly free and fare. which will impose difficulties for both men. if it were the days of rigging, Jonathan could simply have rigged the whole thing, stopping IBB (the evil one) but with the 1-man-1-vote policy, how can jonathan win this election while convincing the world that its truly free and fair ? one thing for sure: this is going to be the most interesting election worldwide - since Obama won the US. |
well heres the truth: GHANA IS ENJOYING LOTS FROM NIGERIAS DOMINANCE IN WEST AFRICA. THEY HAVE LONG BEEN ENJOYING OUR NOLLYWOOD FILMS BEFORE THEY CAME-UP WITH THEIR GHOLLYWOOD. NIGERIAN MUSIC IS ENJOYED THERE AND OUR ARTISTS ARE WELL KNOWN IN GHANA (P-SQUARE ETC) , AND OUR MUSIC WELL PLAYED IN GHANIAN RADIO STATIONS. EVEN OUR PIGEON-ENGLISH IS SPOKEN AND USED WIDELY IN GHANA. NOT TO MENTION THIS 'NAIRA-LAND' FORUM IS WIDELY USED BY GHANIANS AS WELL, SO WHY ARE THEY HATING ON NIGERIANS. , ALTHOUGH, IT IS SAID THAT A COW WILL NOT KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF ITS TAIL UNTIL IT LOSES IT. |
PH is still a great city - Ameachi will restore order |
I believe Ameachi is doing very well, compared to many governors past and present across nigeria who just eat and eat and eat some more money. Ameachi could stay his term and not carry out a single project but instead he is working to create a better state capital. So before critisizing him, you guys should first commend him for a job well done, weather its in PH Ogoni Ikwerre or ahoada, as long as he is improving peoples life somewhere in the state, it is better than we usually get from Nigerian governors, so lets be proud of him. As a person Raised in PH, I am everly proud of him and hope that he lasts a third term in office. God bless Rivers state |
I dont believe that price for a plot in Rumuola - that will be the price one year ago, not today, ! |
I SO MUCH WISH FOR JONATHAN TO CONTEST AND WIN 2011, THAT I WONT MIND IF THE ELECTION IS NOT FREE AND FAIR. AS LONG AS IT IS RIGGED IN FAVOUR OF GEJ. THE WORST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO NIGERIA TODAY IS FOR IBB TO WIN 2011. |
@ shy one : , Nicely well said IT CAN BE DANGEROUS TO SEARCH FOR PERSON WITH LOOKS without considering personality BUT SAFE SEARCHING FOR PERSON WITH PERSONALITY without considering looks, cause you may fall into the wrong hands - criminal - womaniser - alchoholic. and become implicated in their lifestyle, or worse: suffer from it. Its happening every day. |
Ok, pres-elect:Democracy is a beutifull thing and everyone should have the right to campaign. But in IBB's case its different because by campaigning, he insults all Nigerians. If he cared to be elected the democratic way, he would have would have ended his campaign because of the majority of Nigerians that are agaignst him. But He himself does not intend to win this election the right way. but intends to use his influence and wealth to acquire as many votes votes and bribe any other obstacles to become president. Hence as earlier mentioned IBB's case is different. it is necessary to use terrorism, force, brutallity or whatever it takes to stop him. (Those who wait for the election, thinking they will not give him their vote should know that he is not fully rellying on your vote to win) - So act now and stop him. If this kind of (students) force is used against any other candidate, I will call that anti-democratic, but IBB is a different case |
With the existence of ECOWAS, this should not be happening. |
I dont believe most of these stories i see against Jonathan, not because i favour him but because some of these newspaper firms, that carry these stories are owned by IBB and other political interests who are doing their best to give the President a bad name and turn Nigerians againgst his chances for 2011. Poor Mr President, The people in power who wish for good in Nigeria are very few. |
Quite a good move, looks live jonathan is hoping this will help his bid for 2011. never-the-less, he is the first leader to make any realistic positive move on improving our eratic power supply. Hope it works out, he should just watch-out for the thousands of croonies and PHCN chiefs who will be looking for a root to jeopadize the whole project. |
I guess a cage fight between them will solve the dispute. All those critizing jonathans meeting with an ordinary civilian (IBB) about the 2011 election, You should understand that this guy is surrounded by northerners there in abuja, who have very strong influence on Nigerias presidency. (From the Sultans of the north - to the ex military chiefs and politicians) Under normal circumstances he probably will not take that line of action (talking with IBB who was previously under investigation for allegations etc). But for peace sake, he has resolved to do this. Also, only one of them can head the PDP seat. I really think that what he should have done is have the meeting in secret to retain reputation. Anyway that shows that freedom of info is getting better in Naija, as nothing escape the media or press anymore. WHATEVER HAPPENS, ONE THING IS FOR SURE = THE 2011 ELECTIONS WILL BE VERY INTERESTING. I CANNOT EVEN IMAGINE HOW IT WILL END AND WHO WILL COME OUT VICTORIUOS ON THE OTHER SIDE, WITH ALL THIS CAOS. and MAGO-MAGO |
Its what considering using a family member - especially if you are away from the town where your house is being built, if you have someone free in your immediate family who is matured enough and street wise (aka: a sharp man) he or she is less likely to defraud you and will be a bit more sincere than outsiders in general. For me, I'm not in the country, but I just completed the purchase of 1 plot in rumuokuta P/H, at N2m. With the help of My elder brother who happens to be a lawyer. And I am commencing building my 3 bedroom bungalow in January, with the help of my Dad who's retired. but with his free time has managed the building of 2 houses in the past few years |
All he has done since he entered office is reshuffle cabinets and replace chairmen and appoint new legislator etc. If only there were better candidates for 2011 Jonathan would have lost my vote. He needs to stop attending functions to commision of poorly built roads in states and start attending to the thing he promised to take care of, starting with Power supply. |
In addition to all this bad news, I have witnessed fighting in the Nigerian high commision near Trafalgar square in London. and what were they fighting over? - position in the que (people queing-up for attendance claiming that they were there first befoire the others) - Even if our govt made efforts to improve things, our mentality does not help, ! |
Anti Piracy Christain Chapel in Yaba, Lagos - Abi the pastor be ex-Alaba-marketer ?I guess the explanation for all these names na say dem wan preach gospel using church names that way they can reach the widest audience , init ? |
Our people say that the tongue and the teeth find a way to cohabit in peace. My mother used to say that women are drivers - from the back seat. Men by nature always like to be seen as being in charge. A direct challenge to that upsets the balance of nature. That is feminism. The submissive woman makes most of the decisions by she-power and makes the man see it as HIS own. By stroking her man's male ego, she rules him. That is potent ancient wisdom. /\ @Donjuan1 Powerfull and most truest coment of this topic. You have answered the whole question. I was going to add my opinion but thanks for saying it even louder for me, !!! |
Sanusi should talk as much as he can, All you guys criticizing his noise making will prefer if he acted like the ministers etc , who sit in there high tables all year, Nigeria is in shambles at the moment and something needs to be done about the state of things in the country - and until someone in government starts to make changes and improve things, every comment, statements and news forums etc is welcome. sanusi is not in the government - so all he has is his mouth so let him use it to worry those who are in position to make changes but instead they remain relaxed and eating our money, ! I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING MORE FROM SANUSI - A MAN WHO WANTS SOMETHIONG DONE ABOUT THE DAILY SUFFERING OF THE ORDINARY NIGERIANS ON THE STREETS |
Why dont the useless" British Broadcasting Corporation" alias BBC make a documentary about this (other side of dubai) for the western TV audience ? , When it comes to poor living and suffering they only see Africa. |
Cant believe it, ordinary scene in a film and they are about to kill a young lady, Nollywood should stop making complex film scenes until they fully understand how best to, anyway - very funny post |
What do they need the 500m in their account for , ? to bribe there way to power, Mmm.? |
