deomelo:Some of you just support things because it has something to do with Buhari, I fear for our country with people like you who can't reason or think independently. We have a situation were the indigenes of some states involved in the Initial project were protesting and rioting about the inclusion of there land in some Ruga rubbish, Pleatue indigenes took their displeasure about this issue to their state house, but yet the governor was still buying into the Ruga idea because of his loyalty to Buhari, same thing with Taraba, how can you please an ethnic group above your own people because of politics? There is nothing voluntary about the RUGA BS since the people whose land you are about giving to the Fulani are angry, sad and rioting, and why will FG fund a private business to start with? The Fulanis are terror to their host, I have experienced first hand what they did to a farmer in my LGA, I even reported the issue here, it's funny how you because of politics can't call these guys out, despite the glaring fact that they have caused so many troubles in the country. I'm not even surprised about Atiku's response, what do you expect, he is a Fulani man. |
oyonu:Abraka to Warri is 350 while road side cabs charge 400 and 500 on a very busy day. The reason the price for Eku isn't that cheap is because Delta city (Uduaghan) bus doesn't have any bus station in Eku, so those road side cabs do charge a lot. |
fratermathy:Please avoid Obiaruku for now, the cultism there is alarming. We allowed this to develop to this stage, sadly nothing can be done about it, they have turn the town into something else. Well you can try Eku, it's just a 20 minutes drive (N250 if you are using public transport), Houses there is about 120-150k for standard two bedroom, sadly I don't know if they have constant power supply. |
fratermathy have you tried taking your search to River road?, back then houses there are cheaper, you could get a two bedroom apartment for 150-180k. Don't go towards "campuses 4 road" axis, houses there are very very expensive. Haven't been to the town for a while now, but the story I'm hearing so far isn't really encouraging. Good luck with your search. |
perez100:Mid-west to the best of my knowledge was neutral, one can't talk about the civil war without being sentimental. I quite understand Ojukwu's plan towards the small region, like creating a buffer zone etc, but then the mid-west as at that time wasn't a threat to anyone, the region could hardly protect herself because Gowon has refused arming Ejoor for the fear of it landing into the enemies hand, the federal troops haven't carried any operation in the region before Ojukwu attacked and they left the region with nothing. Diplomacy would have solved the problem, Not force, till date is still do not understand why Ojukwu ordered his men to bring Ejoor dead or alive? that alone created so many distrust between the two regions. |
He just destroyed his political career. his opponent will use this against him. The man is a beast, I was so mad watching the video, I just pity his wife. |
GoTV:Total BS, you irk me, worst is the fact you got 17 likes, who are those giving you likes and shares? I just pity the women around you. of all the nations on earth, it's Saudi Arabia you want us to imitate, gosh. |
Over the years the Fulanis have attracted hate and distrust towards their ethnicity, normally issue such as this wouldn't have been a difficult one to accept, but looking at history and how these people have committed so many heinous crimes, it will be suicidal to allow any Fulani settlement in your state or region. There are ways things such as these are being done in developed countries, cattle rearing is a private business and as such the owners of such cattle should buy some piece of land and set up a ranch, that's the best way to go. |
helinues:But hope you know you aren't making any sense? FG isn't don't shii about this Fulani menace, not a single person has been persecuted, not one, are they ghosts? History has taught one not to lease an inch of his ancestral land to an aggressive tribe/Race. The entitlement mentality of these guys is sickening, they come to your land, bring death and terror, contributes absolutely NOTHING to the development of the community, yet wants the community to give them everything they ask for, If they can't buy land for ranching, then they should quit, we do not get the cow meat for free. In all of these, I just pity the Northern minorities, for too long they have been subdued, which they can rise and break free from this unholy Arewa/Northern union BULLSHIT. |
Sanchez01:I thought the constitution says all land belongs to the state government, so Why TF is Buhari giving lands to Herdsmen? |
Welcome to Nigeria. |
kingzizzy:The southern minorities aren't poor, I beg to disagree, if you are looking for poor people I think you should check Northern Nigeria. The region is only pledged with bad leaders, which is not even limited to the oil rich region alone but the entire Country. The counter balancing has somehow helped in protecting the Identity, interest and culture of the minorities, just Imagine a country with only a single major ethnic group, they will impose their Interests, language, culture, traditions and beliefs on the helpless minorities. Now let me use my state as an example, because we have somehow experienced first hand what it means to share a region with a single major ethnic group. I remembered in the Western region, they made a decision to spend 225,000 pounds in Awolowo’s home province of Ijebu with a population of just 383,000, as compared with 169,000 pounds in the Benin province with a population of 624,000. Now imagine if the western region had got another major ethnic group, will that be possible? At least in Biafra, the minorities would have had only Igbos to contend with. In Nigeria the have Igbo/Yoruba/Hausa-Fulani to contend with.So in essence, You are angry because you guys aren't the one dominating and calling the shots, and you want a country where no one will challenge you? This just sums it up. It all boils down to your personal interest (Nothing actually wrong with that, we all have got one), not some love for anyone, guess what? the minorities have got interests too, and avoiding a false union with a major ethnic group is one of them. |
Yyeske:Warri, Benin and Sapele wasn't part of Eastern Nigeria, what's up with you guys and history? Can't you all at least know a little about your country? |
garfield1:Yes, no major ethnic group has the interest of the minorities at heart. Just like a man trying to sleep with a lady, all promises are lies and unrealistic. We don't have any major ethnic group in the region, the influence of Urhobo, Ijaw, Efik or Bini can easily be tamed by a combined force of other minorities. So no fear of domination, same can't be said if we are to involve a major ethnic group. |
garfield1:Minorities both in the Western, Eastern and Northern region were all dominated and subdued. it's not actually an Igbo thing but a human trait to always want to lord over small or minor groups. it's just so unfortunate that the Northern minorities haven't got a voice till this day. My only ish is people trying to drag the minorities into a union we all know will favor a single ethnic group, while I can't speak for the entire southern minorities, never will I support my ethnic group being dragged into a union with a SINGLE ethnic group, it's a recipe for disaster. I don't want my kids Fighting for FREEDOM. It has nothing to do with enemy but INTEREST. |
food4tot:The guy said Delta State was part of the old South Eastern Nigeria or Eastern region. |
Nbote:DELTA STATE was never part of Eastern Nigeria, it wasn't even in Ojukwu's original map, Delta and Edo were first in WESTERN Nigeria, and after so many Agitations, The minorities in the then Western Region had their independent region, The Mid-West. From there it was renamed to BENDEL, before finally splitting into Delta and Edo. So you are wrong, the entire SS wasn't part of Eastern Nigeria. OP sorry if I'm derailing, just wanted to correct some wrong statements. |
helinues:Just pointing out the double standard and hypocrisy. Nuff said. |
helinues:Yes other countries are into Arms and weapon trade, and other inhumane things, so why demonizing Iran for the same crimes you and your allies are committing ? The issue here is Iran, he might handle other issues well but he goofed badly with his policies with Iran, why can't you all accept reality?, at first he said he wants Iran to stop arming Hezbollah and other groups in the region, now he is saying he is ready for talk without precondition. So why did he pull out of the deal at first. So going by your logic, it's okay to support Saudi Arabia's killing of thousands of kids while it's wrong to kill 150 people ?, I only brought that issue up because you guys are trying to make Trump look like he really cares about some Iranian people, he didn't strike Iran because of so many reasons, not some 150 people dying BS. he cares so much about human lives yet he authorized Air strikes in Syria. Think! |
helinues:Don't tell me you buy into that 150 people BS. Thousands of kids are being bombed in Yemen by Saudi Arabia, if Trumps cares so much, why isn't he saying anything about that? instead he is busy supplying Saudi Arabia weapons to continue with their killings. Last year they authorized an air raid on Syria killing hundreds of not thousands of people for some dumb excuses (We all know Assad didn't use chemical weapons on His people). Truth is, you can't take down a US military assets without them retaliating. Everyone knows the consequences of a clash with Iran. Trump was damn wrong on this Iran issue, no one is even buying into his stories, Spain last month withdrew their ship from US fleets, saying they don't want to get into any conflict with Iran. My question is, why pull out of a deal that is working just fine? We know Iran is blocking them from taking over the entire middle east, but he should have left the deal alone while looking for ways to counter Iran military strength in the region. I just pity US allies in the region, if anything breaks out, Iran will so hit everyone. Hezbollah will keep so many people busy, Houti are now going offensive, Shia militias will engage US troops in Iraq, the war will bleed the entire region. Anytime I just read this Iran news, I just wish they settle their matter diplomatically, any clash will bring hardship to millions of people. |
Sorry if I sound offensive to your religion. But we don't need this at this stage of our development, Almajiri has outgrown its usefulness in the society, time to abolish it. We can't progress as a nation if we keep mixing things with religion. Religion hasn't helped anyone, and it will never! Way Forward: * Northern elites should declare a state of emergency on the current educational problem facing the region. * Almajiri should be totally abolished, and kids should be sent to normal school, how can one function when you mix religious teachings with science? If you want to teach kids about Mohammed or what have you, then you can do that on Friday or Saturday, like the Christians Sunday School service. * Our major issue as a nation is that we do not know when to abolish things that aren't useful to our present generation. with the level of illiteracy in the northern part of this country, one will wonder what the future looks like for them. |
Go to his school on Monday, visit his department, head straight to the HOD's office, request to know more about the academic performance of your kid brother. He/She will gladly give you. Don't you know his matric number? (You can get this from any of the docs he presented to you), if you have it, you can then go ahead to check NYSC's senate list and see if his name appears there. On a second thought, what's he still doing in school if he has graduated? hope he isn't battling with one carryover or the other, besides how old is he? Dude probably with a woman now. |
LordKO:Oshare I just love the way you write. respect bro ![]() |
dermmy:Quite funny you made mention of UN, Syria's airspace has been violated several times, what has UN done? bro UN can't do shii to US. For now I can't take side till I know whose side the drone was before been shot at, but US striking Iran will increase tension, Iran will surely target some Us ships in the Persian Gulf. Both country will suffer, but Iran will suffer most, so they should pile down and solve things diplomatically, this issue wouldn't have happened if the JCPOA deal was still in tact. For all those war jonkies on NL, a war with Iran will see millions dying. let's hope for peace. |
iammo1:Why are you guys hypocritical up north? How will you pass a bill that is inconsistent with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria ?, if such a bill is been passed in Southern Nigeria won't you hypocrites be the first to shout? for the record straight, I'm Irreligious. I know El-rufai and he is sure a religious and tribal bigot |
proxillin:Iran isn't interested in building Nuclear weapons, they were never interested, Do you even know the origin of the Iran-Us feud? or you just one comment. Pulling out of the deal was a stupid and foolish decision. I know you hate Obama, but Obama had maximum pressure on Iran during his early days as the president, got to a stage the Iranians were severely affected and they both agreed on a deal, the deal was to limit Iran Uranium enrichment, but when trump came in he pulled out saying Iran wasn't keeping to the end of their bargain, the UN, EU, Russia, China etc all said Iran was/is keeping to the deal and had never gone beyond the recommended limits. Sometimes in life, diplomacy is the key, not everyone bow to external forces, the Persians are one of those people. Just Monday Iran announced they will no longer honor the deal since other partners couldn't do anything to help, guess what?, trump ran to twitter saying Iran is about violating the Nuclear deal. What deal if we may ask?, the same deal he pulled US out?, or the deal he said Iran wasn't honoring at first? now expect Iran to increase their Uranium enrichment, capable of Creating nuclear war heads, this is exactly what the world is avoiding, and I bet no country will join US in invading Iran. Last month Spain pulled their war ship from US fleet, saying they don't want to get involved in any crisis with Iran, Trump is entirely alone. China was making 500billion from trade with USA and USA is only aking 40billion. And trump says no. It has to be fair.Don't even what to talk about the trade war as China herself isn't innocent. |
Why can't the parents sue this clown? |
It's quite saddening that Nairaland made the Notre Dame accident a major topic that trended for days, worst is no life was lost. Now we are looking at a situation where several souls have died, many brutally murdered by the military government, teens rapped by their oppressors, hunger, destruction etc yet AFRICA is silent. I ask, what then is the function of AU ? |
senatordave1:Brah greetings from the other side. |
mizmia:You are wrong, Pakistan is majorly Sunni, about 70-80% while shia is 5-20%. |
Bede2u:Shia is more of Nationalism ,Sunnis are more of terrorism, from ISIS to Boko to Al-Qaeda, in fact all major terrorist groups in the world all trace their doctrines to Sunni. The dude I quoted is just a bigot, he just supports anything his master does regardless if it's right or wrong, I'm scared of such people, people who can't reason independently. I just hope he is benefiting from all these. Meanwhile the Saudis are in Sudan trying impose their puppets on the people, I'm even glad that Sudanese are beginning to see Saudi Arabia for who they truly are, I saw some last week chanting they are Africans not Arabs, their eyes Don they open. Evil and demonic Arabs! |
post=79202775:The Shiites being arrested in Saudi Arabia weren't terrorist, they were protesting, demanding for fair treatment, ending discrimination by the Sunni majority, the protest took place in 2011 or so. They didn't go about bombing themselves, or attacking any institution, all they asked for was fair treatment, Shiites are not the ones bombing innocent kids in Yemen, they are not the ones sponsoring terrorism all over the world. So if you are looking for a sec. to demonize, start with your Sunni dominated Saudi Arabia, they are the real demons, I wonder why your president is associating with such a demonic country. Don't just jump into a topic you know little or nothing about because of your alliance to a party, it makes one look dumb and stupid. As for Nigerian Shiites, not everyone supported their actions, Nigeria is a sovereign state, their demands can't be met. |

Even though I'm a born again Christian, i think Nigeria needs to emulate Saudi Arabia by limiting the rights and opinions of Christian women especially. A driving and social media ban for women in Nigeria is good to start with. Women are becoming more bold and their actions if not curtailed with strict rules will keep bringing down men of repute. Biodun is the victim today and I'm ashamed of how we Christians are dragging his innocent name in the mud.
