Oniovo thanks for bringing this here, I will help call on the mods, hopefully it hits front page.
Sanctions doesn't produce any desired result, the civilians are the ones who suffer and who most of the time barely live a normal life, and don't have any influence on the country's decision making.
In the case of Iran, sanction is more of a blessing than a curse, before the sanctions, Iran depended heavily on America for basically everything, from weapons to aircraft to gadgets to cars to heavy duty machines... just everything were imported. After years of heavy sanctions, they had no option than to look inwardly, today the republic produces almost everything they need and is self-sufficient.
Sanctions are only effective when dealing with a weak government and people, when people are behind their government and know an outsider doesn't mean well for them, they'd rather starve than give in to others demand.
Noblefirstlady: Believe me she doesn't know. She suspects him but she really doesn't know anything about this lady. And when ever he comes back late he attacks her first, with words like why didn't you open the door quickly or you thought I went to see another woman. He attacks before she attacks
Believe me, she knows, someone might have informed her about the activities of her husband, it's clear that the man doesn't love her, he married her because he wanted to have kids.
Just be careful though, the lady is in bondage and doesn't wants to be freed.
I bet you know nothing about what's going on for you to say the bolded. Saudi Arabia has been committing so many crimes against humanity for years now, and no one is talking because they are rich and to some extent controls the energy market.
Last week drone strike was a result of their on going war in Yemen, were they bomb women and children, heck, last year they bombed a school bus with kids on it, not to mention the numerous hospitals and schools they have smashed to the ground. If they want to fight Houthi, they should do so and let these innocent people be.
It's just funny how hypocritical the world is, I fear for humanity!
Sanchez01: A step in the right direction! It was a contract instituted on falsehood and should be treated as such.
Belgore and all politicians involved should be exposed and possibly brought to book. It doesn't make sense that a contract of donkey years ago was recently reopened in a bid to milk Nigeria.
How so-called expats conveniently set up tiny organizations and take on massive government projects tells a whole lot about the rot in our system.
If the basics of the contract are found to be false, there just might be no case to begin with and that could be the joker at quashing the $9 billion claim in the UK court.
This case is a very interesting one, some of our politicians are damn evil, teaming with a foreigner to dupe your country, My LAWD!
gidgiddy: States are created based on population, not landmass
Bayelsa has a population of 1,704,515 (According to the last population census) while Urhobo has 2 million, meaning Urhobo has more population than Bayelsa, a state Urhobo is also part of (Urhobo occupies some part of bayelsa, I once created a post about this).
What about countries?, there are so many countries with a population less than 1M, so what the hell is that young man saying ?
Just because he is from a major ethnic group doesn't mean he should write others out, we are very capable as much as you are, do your thing and respect others.
selemempe: the problem is that it is easy to preach yoonity cos u are from a tribe [s] of less than a million people. U cannot form a country via just ur tribe. U cant even form a state not to talk of a zone or a country. [/s] To many igbos and yorubas, we are good to stand on our own might as a nation. That is why tribalism is a big part of our culture. Dont expect it to change soon. There is no nigeria in the real sense. There is yoruba, igbo, hausa/fula nations and others
You are ignorant to say the Urhobos are less than 1 million, how you lie about everything just so you could feel good about yourself beats me.
Play all your tribalistic bullshit, but keep Urhobo out of your rubbish STATISTICS, don't go about undermining us just so you can prove a point.
Urhobo has a total land area of 5000 square kilometres, Lagos state has about 3400 square kilometres, meaning Urhobo land is bigger than Lagos state, so you lie about Urhobo not able to make a state.
Urhobo land is 5 times bigger than Singapore which has a total land area of 725.1 square km. So what are you saying?
kemicalreaction: I don't the US would allow it. That would be an absolute slap on their patriot system face
But don't you think doing this might isolate Putin from his major allies, just like the America first policy of Trump?
You are correct, US will definitely not allow that, but if Russia could get Saudi Arabia to purchase the S-400, that will be a major boost to the system as many countries will run to Russia for air defense rather than the US, a major blow to the US and the much "Sophisticated" patriot defense system.
@Bolded, I don't think Russia cares much about any ally, from their actions thus far in Syria, one can conclude that they only care about their objectives and interests. Allies can't really isolate Russia at this stage.
seunmsg: Trump should be ashamed of himself. He sold a multi billion dollars missile defense system to the Saudis and when the attacks came, the defense system failed to work. Saudi Arabia should immediately return the shity defense system and ask for a refund.
The Saudis are not that smart or intelligent, give the Persians same weapons and see if they won't pluck any bird that flies close to their territory.
This is a lesson to people who always think sophisticated weapons automatically translate to military victory, the Saudi military is lazy, unmotivated and undisciplined, no matter the weapons they acquire, they can't face real and potent enemy.
Zoharariel, I understand your sentiments, but war is business, and Russia doesn't want to be left out from milking Saudi dry.
It's all about the money, even US will do same, it's just matter of time before Saudi go for the S-400, it's obvious their current defense system is highly overrated.
I once said no country is a trusted ally, the only trusted ally is your people, they are the ones who won't abandon you even if you are broke and have nothing to offer.
Selling S-400 to Saudi Arabia will be a game changer.
Olominira: Some powers somewhere are ready to burn down the middle east. Nigeria must be very careful at the moment especially with handling of shiite members. The entire world would pay for the effects on oil price, and moving of goods on their sea. If this doesn't eventually lead to ww3
Nobody is trying to burn the middle east, if Saudi plays a peaceful role in the region, all this wouldn't have happened. The West is only cashing out from their stupidity, the Arabs are the cause of their problems.
You don't go about bombing kids and women and expect them not to fight back, this same Saudi Arabia was also the ones behind the last riots in Sudan. What a nation.
dermmy: I'll accept the fact that those systems are overrated. Saudi Arabia has to explain how 10 non-stealth drones were able to infiltrate their airspace without being detected or shot down by those systems. Are those guys watching the radars sleeping?
Maybe they still don't understand how the system works . Not a single drone was taken down, what a shame.
dermmy: Yet some kids here would narrate how Saudi Arabia would take on Iran in the event of war between both countries. If Saudi Arabia couldn't detect and shoot down non stealth targets what would happen if an enemy launches missiles in their salvos? Those defence systems would be overwhelmed.
... or perhaps these defense systems are overrated.
Saudi Arabia take on Iran? Even the Saudis know they won't survive a year if they make any mistake of engaging Iran. It's a common knowledge that the Saudi military is a very weak one, sophisticated weapons don't win wars, something we keep telling some of our people here who have been brainwashed by some movies.
The Saudi army is one of the weakest in the world, their current battle with the Houthis has shown how useless "SOPHISTICATED" weapons can be in the hands of lazy, unmotivated, and highly undisciplined soldiers.
All they love doing is bombing schools, hospitals, kids and women. How can Houthi, a militia with a far inferior weapons withstand Saudi Arabia this long? How can a drone that's not stealth infiltrate Saudi territory, without any defense system taking it down?
dermmy: It's simple they want to weaken Iran's defences because Iran is Israel's biggest headache in that region and Iran poses a great challenge to US interest in the region. If you notice Europe does not have problem with Iran's missile programme except US and Israel that keep wailing because of their selfish interests in the region.
Europe had no problem with the JCPOA deal. They were satisfied with it until Israel came up with lies that Iran was violating the deal. Some days after the last G7 summit Netanyahu released another intelligence reports claiming Iran recently destroyed a nuclear testing site. He did that because Macron was trying to bring Trump and Rouhani to the negotiating table. Europe is not even buying Israel's propaganda anymore.
And Iran will never give up her missiles. That would amount to suicide. Will Israel give up her nukes? Iran feels threatened too because it has an enemy that posses nukes therefore it needs a deterrent that's how it works US knows this but hypocrisy and double standard won't allow US accept the truth.
EUROPE is just not ready for any conflict with Iran, the only reason European companies pulled out from Iran was because they didn't want to lose the US market. Their body language over the past few months shows they want the deal to be alive.
I know Iran won't give up her missile program, that won't happen, they'd rather starve to death than give up their defense system. Isreal wants Iran to be weakened so they can conduct airstrikes anyhow they so wish, Isreal's strength lies on the weakness of her enemies.
I have some reservations on the headliners ruling Iran, most especially their bad economic policies and human rights violation, but hey, Iran isn't that demonic as they want us to believe.
dermmy: I doubt if Iran would give up her missile programme. It's a big deterrent against a potential aggressor and its support for the Houthi militias and other proxies in the region. Let's see how the situation unfolds but i know Trump is regretting his actions because the sanction isn't producing its desired result.
And one question is, What will be Israel's next move now that Bolton is out and Trump is showing a desire for talks? I read today that Netanyahu wants to visit Russia to see Putin. I can tell you Israel is scared.
My thoughts exactly. Iran giving up her missile program will give room for future strikes and she also needs her proxies to be active and well funded so as to keep some people busy.
For us to have a good deal, both countries need to make compromise. I thought this deal is/was all about Nuclear weapons, why are they stressing on missile and the rest?
@Bolded, Israel's next step is very predictable, wail, cry and lie that Iran is doing something evil, believe me, that won't fly anymore. Even Americans are tired of their actions in the region.
At the end of the day, a new deal will be signed, something similar to the first one, but will Iran give up her missile program? because Trump is also asking they stop missile test.
Bolton Out of the picture is a plus one to world peace, dude always wanting to share blood. A conflict with Iran doesn't worth it, millions will perish, that is if the middle east doesn't burn.
tyup: so you still believe wars in this 21st century are fought with foot soliders??
you need a rethink or an update on that
Do not let anyone deceive you, wars are still fought with foot soldiers. Drones, sophisticated weapons, etc only give you a great advantage over your enemy. In fact with all these weapons, you can still be defeated if you engage a well organised and highly motivated troops. Real life is different from movies.
This topic is useless, it's not possible for Nigeria to fight South Africa, the battle will be an expensive one, and neither SA or Nigeria has the resources to sustain such battle. The distance alone should tell any right thinking individual that it's not possible for both countries to engage in combat.
Originality007: Guy just leave scully95 and zoharariel to satisfy themselves on their fake news.. it will not take Israel 2wks to destroy the called Hezbollah...but is Israel is just toying with dem. even aljazeria media No 1 enemy recently reported that Israel lied that Hezbollah killed their soldiers so that they could use that excuse to destroy the Hezbollah armies ...
Fake News? I don't think so, I recently watched a video about this on YouTube some days back, The military base abandoned is very close to the northern border, and can easily be targeted. I think that's the reason they left the post. For now, Hezbollah still remains a potent threat, saying IDF will defeat them in two weeks shows you are either not current or you are delusional.
MetaPhysical: What gives people the belief that a spontaneous curse has any effect?
Ok, if you want to place curse certain criterias must already be validated.
1. You have a contract or seal of bond with another party to do...or not do....something, a goal.
2. The goal of your bond cannot be injurious or harmful to others and must not in any way be harmful to the environment and the life supporting elements.
Even after these two are in place a curse may still not take effect.
The danger however exist, since curse have energy, that it could hang around the person that uttered it.
Becareful, when you need to express grievance or bitterness....that you do so using normal words in lexicon to express emotional anger or displeasure.
To my dear Yoruba sisters in particular, the world around us has changed....change with it. Abusive and vulgar language is now a turn-off. Drama and unecessary exhibition of nativity is no lobger in vogue. Yoruba is the mother of lexicons, rich and deep, reinvent your appeal.
This girl in video did not come off as an appealing and reasonable lady. In true life she might be very decent and loving but her "nolywood" type exhibition is a complete turn off! It killed her message.
Dude, they are killing our people, stop defending BS please, all your comments so far, u seem to be happy about this attack.
glink2015: Marriage is biblical . The first marriage ever conducted was In the Bible.. and there wasn't bride price in it... Gen. 2:23-25
Stop this Biblical stuff, I as an African man will follow the customs and traditions of my people, and bride price is one of them, we have no business with what any religious book says... and no, the first marriage didn't take place in the Bible, before any body stepped foot in the middle east, people were already paying bride price in Africa.
Antinatalist: No. You're wrong Sir. Just because you're rich doesn't give you the Right to bring any child into this world. Here's why . .
Your money cannot save that child from disabilities and other medical diseases they may be born with. . Your money cannot save that child from accidents that might render down motionless for the rest of their lives. . There's no guarantee that your financial situation won't change in the far future. Therefore making your child suffer. Your money cannot save that child from anxieties and other mental health issues due to having to run a business to sustain income. . .
The reasons not to have children are endless. It is better not to bring them at all than to bring them to suffer for nothing.
So in essence, we shouldn't give birth, and watch humanity go extinct.
Wow, just wow, you even said a single kid is a mistake.
fratermathy: He's Urhobo from Delta South Senatorial district. I think Buhari's appointments were based on the voting patterns. If so, Urhobos gave him the most significant votes in Delta State. We didn't vote based on sentiments. In particular, Ughelli North and Ethiope East generated nothing less than 200,000 votes (combined) for Buhari. This is in addition to the massive votes APC got in other LGAs in Delta Central.
Again, the defacto leader of the APC in Delta State is DSP Omo-Agege and we all know that one of his major missions is to correct the marginalisation of Urhobos in previous appointments. In that, he has done very well. We now hope that these appointments may translate into tangible development for the people.
I think this will be the first time the Urhobo nation is being recognized at the federal level since we returned to democracy, despite our contributions to the nation, we were politically marginalised.
Now it's time for those appointed to work towards the betterment of the people, Keyamo being an Uvwie man should do all it takes to help Uvwie reclaim some land being seized by the military, they didn't set up any military school, so they have no right to keep holding so many hectares of land in Uvwie.
Omo-agege should do better this time, he was not voted to asslick Buhari, regardless of his alliance, he should work towards bringing development to the state, he should start by encouraging (if possible, sponsor bills to force) oil companies back to the region.
