Sanctions doesn't produce any desired result, the civilians are the ones who suffer and who most of the time barely live a normal life, and don't have any influence on the country's decision making.

In the case of Iran, sanction is more of a blessing than a curse, before the sanctions, Iran depended heavily on America for basically everything, from weapons to aircraft to gadgets to cars to heavy duty machines... just everything were imported. After years of heavy sanctions, they had no option than to look inwardly, today the republic produces almost everything they need and is self-sufficient.

Sanctions are only effective when dealing with a weak government and people, when people are behind their government and know an outsider doesn't mean well for them, they'd rather starve than give in to others demand.

Last week drone strike was a result of their on going war in Yemen, were they bomb women and children, heck, last year they bombed a school bus with kids on it, not to mention the numerous hospitals and schools they have smashed to the ground. If they want to fight Houthi, they should do so and let these innocent people be.

You are correct, US will definitely not allow that, but if Russia could get Saudi Arabia to purchase the S-400, that will be a major boost to the system as many countries will run to Russia for air defense rather than the US, a major blow to the US and the much "Sophisticated" patriot defense system.

@Bolded, I don't think Russia cares much about any ally, from their actions thus far in Syria, one can conclude that they only care about their objectives and interests. Allies can't really isolate Russia at this stage.

Saudi Arabia take on Iran? Even the Saudis know they won't survive a year if they make any mistake of engaging Iran. It's a common knowledge that the Saudi military is a very weak one, sophisticated weapons don't win wars, something we keep telling some of our people here who have been brainwashed by some movies.

The Saudi army is one of the weakest in the world, their current battle with the Houthis has shown how useless "SOPHISTICATED" weapons can be in the hands of lazy, unmotivated, and highly undisciplined soldiers.

All they love doing is bombing schools, hospitals, kids and women. How can Houthi, a militia with a far inferior weapons withstand Saudi Arabia this long? How can a drone that's not stealth infiltrate Saudi territory, without any defense system taking it down?

It's simple they want to weaken Iran's defences because Iran is Israel's biggest headache in that region and Iran poses a great challenge to US interest in the region. If you notice Europe does not have problem with Iran's missile programme except US and Israel that keep wailing because of their selfish interests in the region.

Europe had no problem with the JCPOA deal. They were satisfied with it until Israel came up with lies that Iran was violating the deal. Some days after the last G7 summit Netanyahu released another intelligence reports claiming Iran recently destroyed a nuclear testing site. He did that because Macron was trying to bring Trump and Rouhani to the negotiating table. Europe is not even buying Israel's propaganda anymore.

And Iran will never give up her missiles. That would amount to suicide. Will Israel give up her nukes? Iran feels threatened too because it has an enemy that posses nukes therefore it needs a deterrent that's how it works US knows this but hypocrisy and double standard won't allow US accept the truth.

EUROPE is just not ready for any conflict with Iran, the only reason European companies pulled out from Iran was because they didn't want to lose the US market. Their body language over the past few months shows they want the deal to be alive.

I know Iran won't give up her missile program, that won't happen, they'd rather starve to death than give up their defense system. Isreal wants Iran to be weakened so they can conduct airstrikes anyhow they so wish, Isreal's strength lies on the weakness of her enemies.

I have some reservations on the headliners ruling Iran, most especially their bad economic policies and human rights violation, but hey, Iran isn't that demonic as they want us to believe.

Do not let anyone deceive you, wars are still fought with foot soldiers. Drones, sophisticated weapons, etc only give you a great advantage over your enemy. In fact with all these weapons, you can still be defeated if you engage a well organised and highly motivated troops. Real life is different from movies.

This topic is useless, it's not possible for Nigeria to fight South Africa, the battle will be an expensive one, and neither SA or Nigeria has the resources to sustain such battle. The distance alone should tell any right thinking individual that it's not possible for both countries to engage in combat.

He's Urhobo from Delta South Senatorial district. I think Buhari's appointments were based on the voting patterns. If so, Urhobos gave him the most significant votes in Delta State. We didn't vote based on sentiments. In particular, Ughelli North and Ethiope East generated nothing less than 200,000 votes (combined) for Buhari. This is in addition to the massive votes APC got in other LGAs in Delta Central.

Again, the defacto leader of the APC in Delta State is DSP Omo-Agege and we all know that one of his major missions is to correct the marginalisation of Urhobos in previous appointments. In that, he has done very well. We now hope that these appointments may translate into tangible development for the people.

I think this will be the first time the Urhobo nation is being recognized at the federal level since we returned to democracy, despite our contributions to the nation, we were politically marginalised.

Now it's time for those appointed to work towards the betterment of the people, Keyamo being an Uvwie man should do all it takes to help Uvwie reclaim some land being seized by the military, they didn't set up any military school, so they have no right to keep holding so many hectares of land in Uvwie.

Omo-agege should do better this time, he was not voted to asslick Buhari, regardless of his alliance, he should work towards bringing development to the state, he should start by encouraging (if possible, sponsor bills to force) oil companies back to the region.
