Blendy77: Thks my people. God bless you guys plenty and grant you all your heart's desire. Was wondering how you guys got to know about my birthday till I remembered most of us have crossed from being anonymous on nairaland to being friends on facebook and BB. This birthday is a special one for me cos before now I used to feel very sad on my birthdays. I used to cry my heart out and remind God of how am getting old with each birthday without a child. Today I have kids who even though they cant talk and write, presented a very beautiful card to me thru their daddy, wishing me a happy birthday, long life and prosperity. I cant thank this God enough and I pray this joy that I feel inside of me will go round all of us IJN. One by one, we all will leave God's waiting room soon and smile back at the devil for trying his best. One Love my people.
Oniovo, happy birthday! May God's manifold blessings continue to flow with good health and long life. You are blessed!

Faith2013: What!! IVF with ICSI is $10,000 in Nigeria? what a rip off. This is really sad. May God have mercy on poor individuals who cannot afford this procedure, but are in need of children.

Also, IVF success does not depend on the doctor, but GOD. Any infertility specialized doctor with good knowledge and experience can perform IVF. It does not matter if he or she is a Nigerian, Indian, Caucasian or Asian. Let's cut off this mentality of indian doctors being the best.

I work with a lot of indian doctors at my hospital in Western New York State that don't know jack.
My sister, its not that they are better but in the time of desperation (4 years secondary infertility), we tend to shallow all sorts of things. The success rate being high has a lot of human factors as well before the God factor comes in. Before we started, they held seminars for all participants so that we can think straight and less of 'demons and satanic attack', they organised prayer sessions cos the owner is a christian and wants Christians to think less of devil and more of God, bought brand new lab and medical equipment from Germany as recommended by the Indian doctors. Infact, most of the equipment were installed while we were going for injections and prayer sessions! The only problem with Dr. Okoye is that he charges alot! During my batch, me and two of my friends got delivered to live babies me had 1, friends had twins and triplets. Most other women also about 45 of us. He organises his procedures quarterly. Somebody called me last week that he still charges the USD10,000 equivalent which is now N1.6m according to current exchange rate.

wumicipm: Good day everyone, I started reading this wonderful testimonies since sunday starting from psalm24 and I'm grateful to God for making me come across this wonderful family. I've bn trying to ttc for some tym nw only to discover in 2011 dat I have uterine fibroid. It was nt funny. I bleed up to 2-3weeks during my menses and was adversd to get pregnant all to no avail. I live in abuja and d hospital I was using wasn't helping matta. I changed to a govt hospital and discovered I had blocked tubes with hydrosaphix and was adviced to go for ivf bt nt afta dey remove the fibroid which my DH objected to bt wen d bleeding became unbearable as my pcv dropped to the boarder line I started looking for the best hospital for the surgery and d only gud hospital I saw was nisa primer bt d cost is like 800-1m. Has God will have it, I stumbled on an aRticle about NHIS for private individuals, I bought the card and waited for 60days to be registered. I had my surgery 3 wks ago and 4 big fibroid was removed from my stomach, no scar, good doctors, I was impressed. I later learnt the fibroid was reponsible for d blockage as it grew into both tubes. I'll be going for anoda HSG test very soon and hopefully, my tubes will be open. My hubby wants us to do IVF to have our babies once and for all since I might nt be able to have natural birth cos of the surgery though I have faith that my God can do all things. I'm eating healthy, and keeping my fingers crossed. Note: I paid just 6k for a surgery dat wuld have cost 800k. Goodluk to all those ttcing......
If the tubes are clear and hubby fluids ok, you may be able to conceive naturally. In the meantime, just live your normal life!. It comes when your system is relaxed. Also, am interested in the NHIS. How can a private person get it?

Blendy77: My Sister tell us the story na so others can learn cos I also have a SIL who has started her investigations with them and still waiting for them to start the procedure proper. Is it tru that they have white Drs there? Is it also true that ivf is $10,000 there? And is it also tru that their ivf is in batches and not 'do as u come'? That's the gist I heard but educate we Lagos folks since u have used them so we can enlighten our family and friends in PH.
I did my ICSI in 2010/2011 and got delivered of a baby girl towards end of the year. Yes, as at that time, we paid USD10,000 (N1.5m) excluding tests! they also use Indian doctors who come quarterly to supervise and perform all the procedures. Save a life is good but the owner like money well well and they are very expensive. The success rate is also high!

FoodRe: Lacasera: Does It Contain Bleaching Chemical ? by egariyi(f): 6:11pm On Sep 02, 2013
Mr Anonymous: Have you ever seen a Nigerian who has said "I don't take this thing because i am allergic to it"? NO

We are suffering from acute mu-muism. Nigerians don't know when they have allergies. They don't care about ingredients, the only thing they know how to ask is "E SWEET?".
Even if bomb is used in a product, they would never know until pesin blow for their front.

Just because something is bad for you does not mean it is bad for others.

Lacasera is acidic, and that is a good thing because we (humans) are also acidic. If you know the ph of the human skin and system then you will understand.
Lacasera also contains a lot of co2 gas (this is probably why you shouldn't take it on an empty stomach). If it makes you feel full, it's just the gas pushing down on the contents of your stomach... so if you can fart or belch the gas out, you should feel better.

When next you buy a bottle, look through the ingredients to see if you're not comfortable with any of them before you start spreading false rumours.
exactly my thought! Most people consume these liquids on empty stomachs and some even have ulcers without realising it. Others are allergic to one or two ingredients and they dont't care to know. I dont really like the gaseous nature of the drink hence I am not a fan but my son of six years loves the drink. thank you for this advise.
FoodRe: Lacasera: Does It Contain Bleaching Chemical ? by egariyi(f): 6:08pm On Sep 02, 2013
middlebelter: I feel compelled to share my experience, I thought my tummy was just reacting abnormally to a good drink when I took a bottle of lacasera on my way back to Lagos from Ado Ekiti sometimes early this year. I almost gave up the ghost if not for the mercy of God and kindhearted co-passenger that administered some drug to fight the bleaching of my tummy. The driver had tostop the bus for me on the highway and I had to roll on the bear ground in pains. My second experience with the drink was when it splits on my car gear, the gaer simply stopped working after a few days due to the friction created. I certainly recommend that NAFDAC should review the drink and confirm if Nigerian should continue to drink or ban it
Two things are involved, its either its fake or you may probably have developed ulcer without knowing it.
FoodRe: Lacasera: Does It Contain Bleaching Chemical ? by egariyi(f): 5:56pm On Sep 02, 2013
superior1: I don't know about bleaching chemicals but I will rather die than take a bottle of lacasera.

I was in a BRT this fateful day and decided to ease up with a bottle of lacasera, about 40 minutes after gulping the liquid, my whole internal system turned upside down, I began sweating like Christmas goat, my stomach was making some thunderous sounds like terry G music. This matter wey I dey talk like joke no be joke o. It took me all the control of adulthood not to mess up myself that day, I went straight into the toilet on getting to my abode and for 4 days wasn't myself, I actually thought I was going to die.

Friends at work also confirmed having a similar experience with lacasera.

So for me, e contain bleaching agent or not oo. Lacasera babu!
You may have taken it an empty stomach. You dont drink gaseous liquids on empty stomachs. Its suicidal.

Don't even think of sticking ur hand out the window to beg other cars so you can enter a lane, cos ur hand will stay there and sprout roots, wither, dry up and die before anyone pays attention to you! angry
Don't even let me start with the one way some foooools do along that dilapidated narrow rumuodara to rumuokoro road!
Or the bus drivers that don't feel that pedestrians deserve to be trekking since they will convert the side walk to their express road!
Then there is the double parking or the taxi drivers that feel they can "match" break in full motion @ any point of the road to collect passengers. The fact that every single spot in ph (except aba road) is a bustop doesn't help matters.
Or the mofos that can cut their engine in a narrow street, leave their car and go out to buy meat (saw that nonsense this morning on my way to church) while all other cars behind him need to maneuver around his car J̶̲̥̅̊u̶̲̥̅̊S̤̥̈̊τ̲̣̣̥ to get by.

Christianity EtcRe: Must I Dedicate My Car In The Church? by egariyi(f): 9:51am On Aug 05, 2013
IMO, I dont think its necessary to take a 'car' to the church for dedication. As a child of God, you have access to the Father which you can access anytime. As for us, we pray over over any new car by ourselves. Most of the dedications of cars are done in most cases to 'show off' that we have 'arrived' too and it also sends negative thoughts to those that do not have the means yet to get one. The Bible admonishes that let everything be done in moderation!

Moyinoluwa83: @ Yeniola,Waoh! Such a wonderful testimony. Congratulations o. I wish you stress free nine months

@Redeemsave, the conversion from Rand is 1 rand = 16.40 naira. If you check one of the attachments sent to you, you should have list of all the hotels close to the hospital. You will need to contact the hotels to know the cost. They have peak and off peak periods and that has effect on there cost. It is relatively ok now but will be more expensive towards the end of the year. If you don't have the attachments for the hotels, you can send your email address so I can forward to you. You also need to follow up with the hospital once you send in your results so you are sure they received it and also get back you on time.

@Blendy77, 6 months already! I am happy for you. May God continue to bless your home.

@all in the waiting room, May God answer our prayers soon. Plenty twins and triplets dust to you
Congrats to all the new moms, those in God's waiting room and baby dust to all our BFPs. God will see you all through IJN.

At present, its pretty difficult getting hotels around the clinics as most are already fully booked. Are you based in SA or undergoing a procedure? duality: Does it seem as if I'm taking sides? If you know "ALL" the issues not "SOME" state them and proffer solutions let me see.

What I stated was a solution for Amaechi. Believe me, this is the wisest solution. In fact, That is the ONLY solution. someone must do it this way. I think Amaechi should follow this route. I stated an example of my state. I'm not emotional when it comes to politics. However, human begins will always justify their actions, no matter what you say.

Believe me, Amaechi is the one to Stop this mess through dialogue.

We should Tell Amaechi the Truth for goodness sake! HE SHOULD CALL EVERY ONE TO A TABLE, TALK AND GET OUT OF PDP! HE CAN NOT BE IN PDP AND BE ROMANCING WITH THE OPPOSITION THE WAY HE IS DOING.

this is the truth unless you want to twist it.
That is why Nigeria is the way it is today. Pampering evil instead of dealing with it according to the laws of the land. we prefer to shy away and take the approach of holier than thou! For once, we need Nigeria to move forward. Look at the so called elders. They were all in Odili's administration and they have refused to accept the fact that their time are over. They are all presently 'broke' and looking for ways to eat where they have not saw.

Check the wests, if you break the law no matter how highly placed, you will surely go for it. we have seen how ceos of conglomerate, A list actors/actresses, law makers etc sent to prison for breaking the laws. But in Nigeria, such are the so called 'elders' that we should call for a round table discussion!! your solution is laughable!

wonyi: @ good evening everyone. I pray my question doesn't sound offensive. I WAS WITH MY HAIR STYLIST, she's been married for 5 years now, and no issue. She said her friend just gave birth to triplet (2 boys n a girl) after 21 years. A lady(customer) just said it was IVF, n she thinks its a sin . Can u Imagine?the lady saying that is married with a kid. I told my stylist that
1. God gave the knowledge of IVF to assist couples.

2. It is only possible with God.

3. it's modern technology n its there to make life convenient just the way u ride a car n I turned and asked her,is it in the bible that we shouldn't drive a car, yet u own one. just like that couple that waited 21yrs n GOD NOW BLESSED THEN THRU IVF, WOULD THEY HAVE WAITED ALL THEIR LIFE N DIED A BARREN COUPLE? SHE SAID PATIENCE.

4. I told her faith without work is ......................she asked where is the work? I told her the pain, expectation, sleepless nite of searching for a good doctor, prayers, money and trust( in the hands of doctor) is enough work.
5.She gave a loud sound like mockery n said people that do IVF cant jump ,sit properly n they carry their body like eggs. and she finally said nothing like God's gift. I looked at her and pitied her because those cruel words came from a graduate and an adult maybe not matured.
I got home and started thinking, that people are funny. she cared less and talked stupidly. I told my stylist to get a good Doctor and she said she is doing that n I said she should embrace modern technology and dont allow people mislead her.

Pls house, IS IVF A SIN?
If IVF is a sin, why go to the hospital when you are sick? or why take paracetamol when you have headaches? Ignorance is so much in the land and is a big disease ravaging the land. My people are perish for lack of knowledge declares the Scriptures.

For avoidance of doubt, it is God that gives Doctors/Scientist the wisdom and knowledge to invent good things of life for the use of mankind. Dont live in deception!

In my area, Mgbuoba in Phc, electricity has improved a bit in the sense that there is upto 12 hours supply in 2-3 days and then goes off for like a week and then come again for another 2-3 days and so on. However, at the back of NTA Phc, people are not enjoying the electricity supply cause of overloaded transformer. This 12 hours of electricity we don't enjoy cos of very low voltage that cannot even power a TV set. A new transformer has been installed by NDDC and we have been waiting for its commissioning to enable us benefit from atleast this 12 hours of supply. we are patiently waiting.......

Billionaires: I have zero time for sentiments, Amaechi's Jurisdiction is Rivers State. Not NGF, not Abuja . By allowing himself too much time with the NGF affairs and his hatred for his President, he had too much to carry and was distracted from his primary assignment. Tell me, is it the job of a governor to proceed to State Assembly to quell a fracas. No, its not.

The fact remains that Rivers State is in fracas, because Amaechi chose a war he can not win. He, needs to read the '48 Laws of Power' and ' Mafia Manager'. I doubt if Amaechi is 'properly' educated.
Your post is laced with so much sentiment. Did you not read that the police were watching helpless because they were under instruction? If the Governor had not intervened, do you know that lives would have been lost? Let the interest of the state comes first if you truly love Rivers State.

phineas: No one should bvlame the doctors till they ave the facts of the case. That said,I know Nigerian Doctors perform nothing short of miracles with the results they deliver given the conditions they work with,Pls note it is not a training deficit cos almost all young drs this days have pasdsed the rigorous forign certification exams and are just bidding their time to leave, even they don't want to stay,so for the few that work under these absymal conditions, they should be appreciated not run down every opprtunity.

Now to the maternal and morbidity stat a lot of factors contribute to that, unsafe abortion, bleeding from flabby uterus from mothers who have had mutiple births, infections etc all these takes a high percentage as opposed to mothers actually dying from incompetence,if you all care to take a close look at the system u'll see the rot is deeper, its the LGA's not having Drs,its one corper to an entire General hospital for all cases, overstretched ,overworked with no resourcers,no light,no ambulance, someone said no ventilators,I laugh,Its no disinfectant,no cotton wool, its reusing disposables, its absymal work conditions, with no life and no money for the staff.

My point, don't blame the drs or nurses, yopur foreign drs will get worse results with said conditions.Infact I heard of a forien crew that refused to work with the best hospitals in nigeria as at 2yrs ago sayoing they can't work under those circumstances,I laughed.cos u see, they had not even seen public health care, they would ave been scared.

let us ask the right questions, perhaps the system will get more light shed on it that way.but pls respect your drs that stayed,me I advise all drs I know, leave, you ave a thankless job.
The doctors cannot be exempted from the blame. in as much as the conditions in the primary healthcare are bad, most of the so called private hospitals are even worst. They are only gloried by the structures they occupy. I have seen many many private hospitals in Phc with very poor working ethics, poor doctor/patient relations, poor sanitary conditions etc. So its not just about the working conditions, the general attitude of health care workers in Nigeria leaves much to be desired. They often behave as if they are god, care less about patients and very negligent in monitoring patients especially those in labour. I have seen cases where women who are in labour keep shouting for doctors and nurses to come to have them checked some of which may have been over diluted and babies are already poking out forcefully.

Some hospitals with high risk patient and knowing they dont have the requisite equipment/ambulance should a complication arise, will still proceed to handle such high risk patient. A friend of mind who developed emclampsia at 6 months was able to put to birth successful at UPTH due to several specialist attending to her case. Infact, her kidneys packed up during this period and was on dialysis till she put to birth 'naturally' against the scheduled CS section date. Tell which private hospital would have been able to cope with such complications.

Our healthcare practitioners needs to repent of their share wickedness! The funny part is that msot of them claim they are Christians/moslems yet do not have any atom of professionalism in them.

The devil raised his ugly head as usual oo but thanks be to God that he has been put under my feet where he belongs. Will share my testimony in due time. I want to say a big thank you to all those that sent me emails amd those that congratulated me. God bless you and for those still in the waiting room, this is your yr in Jesus name. I actually did my ivf at regenesis just like blendy said. Dr ekeh is so gud and patient too. Cost of ivf wit him is btw 350-450k excluding drugs. I don't want to hype any doc but his success rate isn't bad at all. I spent abt 160k for my own drugs. I think this depends on age and how well you respond to the drugs. Honestly my case was a miracle coz I got 9eggs of which only 3 wgere looking fairly ok! Tot of cancelling the procedure but honestly, my doc help build my faith and I proceeded. He suggested day 2 transfer to me coz of my egg quality and I was actually the only one dat did day 2 transfer amongst the six of us dat did transfer that day. My embies where 2grade 4 and one grade 3 so they weren't looking too gud but God is faithful. 2 of them took! For those that don't av issues like blocked tubes or mfi I will suggest iui with dr ekeh. His result for iui is simply amazing!wen I did my procedure,5 oda women did iui and honestly,4 od them got bfp! Like I said earlier, i DONT WANT TO HYPE HIM OOOO! But you can give him a try if u want low cost and effective fertility treatment. His iui is abt 160k drug inclusive. Moreso, he has all the time in the world for his patient. There were days I had to book my appointment for after service on sundays and he is always there caling and waiting. Above all,God is d giver of children and He said there shall be no male or female barren amongst you. So, he would give all of us our desired children IJN.
For IUI, do you know the semen analysis used. what if the male has 15% motility with excellent uterus? Planning to do a procedure also.

Me vs U: since I got admitted at fmca I have witnessed three patients who have died due to negligence on the part of the nurses all they do is just talk about irrelevant things ignoring patients who are in critical conditions and particularly those on night shift sleeping on duty hence allowing a patient who happened to be the bread winner of his family to die after like 4 hours of calling the nurses who came out after he has died only to start pretending to resuscitate him. I just feel most of the nurses are not up to it when it comes to care giving and in fact they should be putting on black instead of white.
You are very correct. Its a practice that is seen in virtually all govt parastatals all over the nation. To think that most of these people are Christians is a serious puzzles. I believe if there is proper supervision, all these excesses will be curbed. There should be an office (not the politicised NMA) responsible for discipline of health workers especially.

Also, the Holy Book admonishes us to forgive our offenders 70 x 70 in a day! Have you considered how many women are still married today inspite of the fact that their men are frolicking about? some even produced kids outside wedlock yet the woman 'forgave' d man and remained? Please for the sake of that child, I will strongly advise that you consider the option of 'forgiving her completely from your heart' and also discussing her sexual needs with her. I recommend you to read a book called "the total man". May God guide you in your decision and grant you peace of mind.
FamilyRe: How Do You Manage Your Finances As A Couple? by egariyi(f): 9:36am On Apr 19, 2013
While it is the responsibility of the man to provide for the home, if the woman earns more, she should automatically take up most of the responsibilities without being asked to do so. The bible stated that the woman is a help meet and that includes finance too. I dont buy the idea of over burdening the man to cater for the home when it is within the reach of the woman to help. That type of mentally is only common with Naija women - the man must provide. It is wrong!! My husband and I jointly run our home, sometimes, I pay the children's fees, does repairs, family vacations etc. I do it happilly without any compulsion. Note, we operate our separate accounts but we have one joint account for project savings.
