shymexx: You know what, in my journey on this planet, I've learned that it's better to coexist with people than try to tell them the difference between good and bad, when it comes to values, morals, and culture. We're all different people and what works for you might not work for the next person.

Take a look at sub-Saharan Africa and MENA(middle east and north Africa) and tell me why those two places are the backwater of the planet. If you can discern why those places are the way they're - then you will understand my POV.

shymexx: However, how are you going to get arrested even if it's illegal when the same people in-charge of arresting people for having sex with minors have failed to do their jobs for eons? How many pedos have been arrested and jailed in Nigeria?

There are bigger things to fight in the world, not ragheads trying to lead their lives the way they want. How does it affect you? Are you a northerner or a muslim?

You lot need to stop disturbing these muslims - leave them alone.

Hunkuyee: My brother you are objecting child marriage but indirectly promoting child sex, make a sample female child in your area you will be shocked to know that majority of them have known men beyond your imagination. Early marriage is solution to unwanted pregnancy, abortion, spread of sex related diseases among our youth. Hundred percent in support of early marriage especially that my religion and tradition support that. You people should not decieve yourself with western cultures.Ask your self how many ladies graduate from the university and still virgin. Many of you here are shouting that you will not marry graduate but rather run to the village and get wife, why? Because you know majority of the so call big girls in the cities are corrupt and known men for long.

shymexx: Personally, I don't think marriage is the problem per se. I believe the problem is the Nigerian judiciary and police force's failure in ensuring that everyone has to be at the legal age (as declared in the Nigerian law/constitution)
to have sex with an adult. Anything outside that should be considered as statutory rape. Consensual or not, in civilised countries, you will get jailed for having sex with a minor. The system doesn't care if the girl allowed it, or not - or if you're married to the girl or not (wherever you got married to her) - you're not allowed to have sex with a minor as an adult. That's what Nigeria should also do.


You lot can cry all day and night; and make it illegal - but that won't stop these people from practising their culture. Their culture is their in-born consciousness. You need to hold your institutions responsible for not protecting children in that country. And not just girls, boys as well.
