ThiefOfHearts:
repent to who? The only repentance you should seek is that of the person you sinned against. If THEY decide that they wont ask for punishment, then you can go your merry way and hope God forgives you as well. Just because Im not an illogical lunatic like some of you, doesnt mean a person is heartless. If you dont know how to have a discussion, best comot from my face.
if you have the mind to report your child, you should also have the mind to report yourself.

when you end up in jail with the person, we go see whether it's not easier to open your mouth
Turning in your child is not a sign of good person, i think its more about being heartless. So its either your a lie or heartless or you don't know. Do you have experience with a similar incident to convince you that you would do that? i believe what a good normal thinking human being will do is not to support  and  dissociative himself from that person.

Let me ask, if you commit a crime and later repent, will you go and report yourself knowing that you will probably be prosecuted for the crime.
CrimeRe: Will You Turn In A Relation Or A Friend Who Is A 419ner by ekoboy: 3:18pm On May 04, 2009
I WILL NOT!
See lies everywhere. All these people saying they will turn in, how many of your friends and relations have you turned in all your lives or are saying you've never known a friend or relationship  doing something bad.

I will advice the friend or relationship to stop and will distance myself from him or her but to turn in , i don't think so.
CelebritiesRe: Glory Chukwu: The New Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria (2009) by ekoboy: 6:05pm On May 02, 2009
maybe she is not so photogenic. I know she is a very pretty girl. Knew her in first yr university, i considered her very beautiful and so did many guys who were looking to get friendly with her.

I believe beauty contest is a combination of many factors. ; how u walk, talk, composure, intelligence, dance etc. so you cannot really say by a mere picture if she is ok to carry the crown. But if it is judged by facial appearance only, i think she is beautiful enough to win any beauty contest.

That you ask the question show you feel its a big deal marrying somebody younger than you and loving the person.
You are one of those that so concerned about age, so stop wasting your time and everbody elses time and move on.
Go and find your dads mate and marry, sure your will respect him.

CareerRe: Is This How Banks Work? by ekoboy: 8:55pm On Mar 16, 2009
LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP
Taking the offer is taking quite a risk. This training school before employment arrangement is only suitable for young school leavers. Not much to loose(except your time and some dignity) if rejected at the end. But for an employed person the arrangement is not very convenient.
I'll give a case. I attended a banks training school for two months before been employed. There were about a 100 of us and in the end over 30 were rejected for no apparent reason( we took a couple of tests and exams and the ones rejected i believe are quite intelligent form their tests results). You can imagine how devastated they were. One had already given testimony in church that he got a job. Took him some time to come back to the church.
My advise is unless your sister is desperate to leave the advertisement company, she should check out other banks especially at this period of economic crunch. cheers

Capital market crisis: Reps lose 70% investment
Bola Badmus, Abuja - 12.03.2009

Senators and House of Representatives members of the National Assembly may each have lost about 70 per cent of his investments to the ongoing slump in the capital market. House of Representatives Committee on Capital Market chairman, Honourable Aliyu Wadada, disclosed this on the floor of the chamber on Wednesday while arguing a motion on the need to pass a resolution to urge the Federal Government to intervene in the capital market by way of a bailout.

According the Wadada, with the present situation of the capital market, available records showed that most federal lawmakers may have lost over 70 per cent of their investments to fall in share prices and other market instruments.

He argued that at this point it was imperative that the Federal Government should be asked to bail out the market to save it from collapse.

However, he said he was not in a position to determine the level of government bail out. Others co- sponsors of the motion also shared in the sentiments but majority members opposed the motion on the grounds that investment risks should be borne by the respective investors and not government using tax payers? money.

Intresting!
Government should use our public funds to bail out the stock market because our law makers used our public funds to invest in the market.
What about the people who don't have enough to eat, not to talk of investing. Who is going to bail them out.
Arrant nonsense. Stupid lawmakers! God don catch them.
FamilyRe: Stepdaughter by ekoboy: 2:51pm On Mar 12, 2009
You need to convince her that you are not in any competition with her. Show her love and understanding, am sure she would come around to contributing towards house chores.

I am saying this because i grew up with a step mother and most times i just saw it that we were competing for my dads love and attention, and did i make life difficult for her? Sure i did. She was always trying to let me know who was in charge in the house and i rebelled as much as i could.

So just make sure your not doing the same to her and you will get the best out of her.

NB
Am closer today with my step mother than my real mother. Reason being that she changed tactics and we got along pretty well

@mowire
im a redeemed member and my elder sister is even part of the main redeemed choir in nigeria and have met pastor adeboye and still do in the course of church activities, the point im making with this is that im not speaking as an outsider, neither am i criticising the man of GOD as we know the implication of that in the bible, however we cannot be totally passive in the face of some issues that can simply not be ignored, and the issue of a private jet especially at this time isnt the best time at all, especially when there is a viable alternative with equal comfort a first class compartment has all the comforts he will need for evangelising, and seeing as money is no object, a situation of missed flights and delays e.t.c will be rare as he ll simply be put on the first class of the next available plane out, mike adenuga was flying commercial up untill a couple of years ago same as billionaires the world over, another pertinent moral conundrum of this private jet is the environmental pollution it will add

i must be quick to add that,im still not 100% convinced this is true untill i see conclusive pictorial evidence

@some ppl making wild and unreasonable asserions especially in the first page

no one put a gun to our head to pay tithes and offerings, but there are some issues like that of the private jet where members dont have a say one way or another,so unless you r calling for reddemers to carry guns and cutlasses and picket the international airport,im at a loss what you r on about, as usual!!
are u sure pastors are not putting guns on the heads of members of their church. I've heard some preachings where the pastor made it categorically clear that no good will come your way unless you pay tithes and offerings. There are different kinds of guns.that my brother is one of them.

Certification And Training AdvertsRe: Professional Training Courses In Mechanical Engineering by ekoboy: 11:41pm On Mar 10, 2009
Tha_dude:
You guys tht are engineers had better take a course in machinist and CNC programming thts whts in high demand today. With it you can work in the gulf states it is in high demand even in the USA, Canada, Australia, Europe.
But lets say the gulf states like Dubai, Saudi, Kuwait, Bahrain will be easier for travel. Only indians are feeling these positions in d gulf and the demand is growin by the day. It will serve Nigerian Youths with technical knowledge alot of good starters pay is about $400 monthly in d gulf exclusive of benefits which is provided by employer.
What is machinist and CNC programming and where is it done. Am an engineer and work in a government parastatal. Presently the work gives me a lot of time and is not so engineering inclined. So am thinking of a way to keep developing my self in order not to become redundant. Any advice is appreciated.
CareerRe: Best Place To Start A Career? by ekoboy: 11:58am On Mar 10, 2009
interesting contributions. But i wonder whether all these applies in Nigeria.
The way i see it , the best place to work in this country is where you get employed. Only very few people get the luxury of more than one offer. Its ok to dream all the dream, when you are in school, but the fact remains that you cannot work where you are not employed. A lot of people in the banking sector am sure are not happy being there, but what have they been able to do? NOTHING.

I can't believe that in this age and time people are still talking about sickle cell and even trying to multiply it.
Its as simple as you CANNOT marry him. Don't be desperate please. Lets prevent the sickness we can prevent. However much you love him, am sure its not worth a life time of running to the hospital. Try as much as possible to give birth to children that will be healthy enough to enjoy life.
Look at this from the standpoint of your future children. Don't be SELFISH all in the name of love.

FBS:
see who is talking? Out of all of the statements I made, this was all you were able to disseminate and wrongly for that matter. You decided to skip all other valid points for reason only you can explain.
Just because we now have WWW, GMS, according to you, there is simply no need to foster unity in the country?
boy you scare me and I'm done with you. Its a waste of time.
Permit to contribute to ur argument with A-town.
You talk about NYSC giving ppl a starting point. I disagree with that and say it actually slows people down. I got a job before NYSC and when the company found out that i was yet to serve they refused employing me and i was condemed to spending the next one yr in a remote village wasting. Imagine where i would have being with that one yr of working experience. Add that to the fact that after serve i searched for work for another 4months.

You say people get posted to banks and get retained there. My question is won't the banks employ fresh graduates again, whether through NYSC or not. Infact i even think it an unfair advantage posting some ppl to remote villages to waste and teach for nothing while their mates serve in banks and get retained afterwards. Mind you i got employed in a bank not through NYSC.

You say people meet their life partners during NYSC. i figure you met urs there. Was that one of your aims for wanting to serve. Life partners can be met anywhere.

To the issue of one milllio naira spent on each corper. I can't believe one million naira was spent on my head for me to waste in one Yoruba village for one year. Hungry for that matter, because the allowee was hadly enough. If the govt insists on spending the money, am sure the money will help graduates who want to establish something to do so. For those who have no ideas and just want to be employed, atleast they would have food on their table while they job hunt.

You talk about restructuring. that shows you also see something very wrong with the system. For me until someone can propose a very good structure I am voting for a scrap.

With all these ethnic problems happening , there is even more reasons to scrap, atleast for now. A friend of mind was recently posted to Bauchi state. As the guy was leaving for Bauchi, he was like a sheep led to slaughter. We are all working hard to see he redeploys to a southern state, atleast for his safety.

I don't know what your problem with Igwe 1 is but i think it is too personal and childish. Putting his real name confirms it.
Please do you mind taking your problem else and allow people buy car. If you have an issue with anything here why don't you be professional about it.
Initially i thought your attacks was about the buyers but am convinced these attacks are not to help the buyer in anyway but rather for your own selfish and personal reasons.
RomanceRe: Pls help me on dis girl. by ekoboy: 1:53pm On Feb 03, 2009
Bros, i don't think you have much to worry. she's talking to you, and says u guys are friends. Maybe she is not one of those that like to signal the start of relationship like its a football match.

So my advice is remain friends with her. Call her regularly, send her gifts when u can. Try to do all those things you would normally do to your girl friend and i believe in no time she would start to reciprocate. My then you would not need to be told that she has agreed.
CultureRe: Is Port Harcout Not An Igboland? by ekoboy: 10:51pm On Feb 02, 2009
i think the argument is gradually becoming clearer which is good.

Question is , is Ikwerre land of igbo origin? Answer is yes. Do they speak the igbo language , answer again is yes.( by the way ikwerre language actually sounds more igbo than some igbo dialects. check out some dialects in Abia state, Nsukka etc) I have actually heard some people speak Awka and did not know they were Igbo.

If Ikwerre people have denounced Igbo and prefer to stand on their own, that is their business( they don't seem to realise that there is strength in number), igbo's don't need them.

But really, its a shame, their attitude, there are igbos in Delta state and i don't think they have that Ikwerre attitude.

Lagos State. . . . .386 square miles.
Ibadan. . . . . . . . .1,189 square miles.

Ibadan is THRICE as big as the whole Lagos. . . .Ibadan is the largest city in the whole of West Africa.
Though, Lagos is more populous.
huhhmmm. Please get your facts right. Ibadan town might be bigger than lagos city in size but it is definitely not bigger than lagos state. Lagos state stretches to Badagry and Epe which you may not want to include as lagos city but they are definitely part of lagos state.
CultureRe: Not Being To Lagos, a 'bush person'? by ekoboy: 11:48am On Jan 28, 2009
Its strange the way people from Lagos tend to portray and brag about Lagos. I attended a school in the east and it always  amazed me how students from Lagos used to look on others as if they are less educated because they are not from Lagos. Its even more surprising because most of Lagos is actually a slum. Anyway they will make u believe they all live on the island.

FamilyRe: Pls Help My Husband Is Compaining About My Weight by ekoboy: 6:52am On Jan 22, 2009
NLsi think we are all making  too many comments and giving too many advice without enough info on the situation on ground. If the only reason she is getting fat is because she is pregnant, i doubt her husband will complain too much. i mean it makes sense that she will increase. I suspect she was already getting fat before the pregnancy and the husband was already complaining and now the pregnancy is here, he does see any connection between getting fat and pregnancy. I think the lady in question should give us more detail and this will help all of us, married and unmarried understand the effects of increase in body weight.

We can all shout how we love our spouses, but am sure a measure of that love is due to the physical attributes of the person. Ppl should not crucify anyman for saying he does not like fat women. Women also don't like some kind of men.
