Lexusgs430:Please its Facebook Messenger and not Whatapps. Thanks |
Lexusgs430:Hi @Lexusgs430 @Justwise. I have taken the above advice and my wife is currently now in the UK. I know one of the requirement will be proof of viable relationship. I guess I must start gathering and printing out all call logs and chats. Calls and chats are through Facebook Messenger. Anyone with an idea how to print this out. I plan to visit her next month just encourage her. She still job hunting, but there she hopeful of getting some factory job next week. |
LadyGuinivere:@LadyG. Very possible to book an appointment before submitting DS160 form. All you need is the DS160 application reference number that is system generated and GTB payment reference number. Any DS160 reference number that has never been used before is acceptable to the appointment system. The risk is not been able to retrieve your form with correct DS160 reference number when ready to submit after 30days. Most applicants trying to beat the system, keep fine-tuning their application and only submit it a day or few days to their interview date, erroneously believing that VO will not enough time to study their submission. |
mercylicious:The tallying error is probably due to a silly mistake on the part of the applicant. The online application system, give applicants the options of 30 days to complete their DS160 form and submit it. Failure to submit your DS160 form within 30 days, the system will delete the form automatically. The mistake applicant makes if they had booked an appointment before submitting their DS160 form, is believing that their saved DS160 form reference number on applicant computer will remain the same regardless of not submitting it on time. This is no correct. When you use the UPLOAD AN APPLICATION option instead of using RETRIEVED AN APPLICATION option to continue with you application you get a new DS160 reference number, different from the previous reference number, even though the contents of the form are exactly the same as the previous one, but with a new Reference number. The RETRIEVED AN APPLICATION option will load your saved DS160 form stored on US computers and not your own computer preserving your reference number. So booking an appointment before submitting your DS160 form is very risky and should be avoided. |

Hi House, Is there a way to update one profile in the US visa appointment system. I have gotten a new international passport which I used in paying for the Visa fee, but my old passport information e.g. passport number is locked in the system and I cannot update it with my new passport number. Do I need to create a new profile as I no longer use my old passport anymore. Thanks |
Good afternoon VO, The GTBank cashier that handled the payment for my BI/B2 renewal visa fee made a terrible mistake in entering my passport number. Instead of A50000Bleep, he entered as A500000Bleep! The transaction reference is 56882219. I pointed the mistake out to him, and he assured me that he will contact the embassy to notified them of the error. Today he told me that he has contacted the embassy and they are aware of this error. I am about to submit my DS-160 form and book an appointment for Dropbox in Lagos. I am writing to find out if I can go ahead to submit my DS-160 and booked the appointment for Dropbox. I do not want the embassy to turn down or delay the processing of my application due to this mistake by GTBank staff. Thank you. |
We all know that black market cannot meet the demand for dollar by Oil marketers to import fuel. I guess devaluation of the naira is the only way CBN can sell dollar to Oil marketers at N285/$1. When secondary market rate is N370/$1. In orderwords fuel sacarity have forced Buhari to devalue the naira and not IMF. So they should not blame IMF but their uneconomic forex policy. |
johnwick1:You must be armed with documentation to proof that your spouse is living in the UK and has permit to stay. Sure the UK immigration will drill you. So have with you, marriage certificate or proof of relationship. Phone number of spouse in case they need to call her. Her house address, where she is working etc. Also be ready to answer questions about the relationship as was filled in your visa application. Sure you can buy a one way ticket. Just be claim and look direct into their eye and answer their questions. For your third question, visit to find out yourself. |
simababe:Plan to use New York methodist hospital Brooklyn, NY. |
Bisoye82:Sure I have checked Airbnb. But would like to hear from mamas in the house that have used NY. Thanks |
johnwick1:Sure you can travel to Ireland only if you will not encounter immigration. There is rarely border check between the UK and Ireland. Otherwise you will have to write to the home office to release your passport. This will not affect your application for UK resident permit. |
Hi all, Any idea of affordable accommodation in Brooklyn NY for extended stay at least 3 months for birthing purpose. We intend to use New York Methodist hospital, Brooklyn. Thanks |
chloe7:Thanks Chloe7. Yes I used to be active on the this thread, that was when I was able to share my experiences. It just that I have never done Dropbox before. Thanks. |
Hi Lady G and the gurus, My USA visa will expire in August 2016. I am qualified for drop box. I am thinking of submitting the following documents for renewal. Pls kindly advise if I am good to go. 1. International passport 2. Completed DS 160 form 3. 6 months bank statement 4. Letter of invitation for a conference in November 2016 5. Letter of introduction from employer 6. Two passport photograph Is there anything I am missing or what documents do I submit? I will appreciate responses from those that have done dropbox renewal lately. Thanks and God bless. |
Hello VO, I currently B1/B2 visa will expire in August 2016. I have used the visa to visit the US three times. I am qualify for drop box renewal. My question when is the earliest time for me to apply for renewal? I can renew before before August 2017 before the visa expire? Thanks. |
johnwick1:When you return to the UK and apply for resident card. The home office will within 3 weeks reply you with a Certificate of Application letter. This COA is like a temporary permit that allow you to work while your application is under processing. The resident card can be stamp on your passport/ or plastic card. If your passport is with home office, you will need to write to them to release your passport to you travel out of the UK and renter the UK with your family permit. This wil not affect your application. My advise is just sacrifice and wait for 6 months for your RC or continue to renew your FP to enter and renter the UK until you are family ready so settle down in the UK |
Let's stop the killing and destruction of lives by Fulani herdsmen. Why does the FG and security agents permit the Fulani herdsmen to carry Assault weapons and AK47 gun to protect their cow when it is a crime to carry firearm without a licence in Nigeria. Are the Fulani herdsmen above the law.#DisarmedFulaniHerdsmenNow |
johnwick1:Sure you can renew the family permit as long as your EEA spouse is still in the UK. All you need is the same document you used in the first application and explain in a cover letter the reasons behind your return to Nigeria. In any case the Family permit either to join/accompany spouse is just 6 months. Next time you enter the UK apply for the 5 years UK EEA resident card which will be issued to you within 6 months. |
justwise:The Nigerian immigration will stamp your British passport it there is a Nigerian visa on it, meaning that you entered Nigeria as a British Citizen eventhough you are also Nigerian. They will not stamp your Nigerian passport. My spouse British passport was collected in Nigeria. When she showed it to the Nigerian immigration, they requested for her Nigerian passport as there was no visa on the British passport. They told her that she is leaving the country as a Nigerian. That if she want to leave as a British Citizen, she must have a visa on her British passport. |
justwise:My spouse has dual citizenship. When she travel last to the UK, only her Nigerian passport was stamped when leaving Nigeria. When entering the UK, her British Passport was only inspected and no stamp. When leaving the UK, there was immigration control. On arrival in Nigeria, only her Nigerian passport was stamp. So her British passport has never been stamped even though she has used it to enter the UK twice. In the past, there use to be border control when leaving the UK, not anymore, as all I get whenever I visit the UK is entry stamps, unlike Schengen countries which have entry and exit stamps. I think the absence of immigration control, is to encourage those that have overstayed their visa to leave without encountering immigration. |
Hello OP. My wife and her brother where born in the UK before 1983 to Nigerian parents. They both had UK visit visa using their UK birth certificate (long version) to visit the UK in 2013. So you can be issued a visit visa if you have a valid reason to enter the UK. However, you would be refuse a visit visa if you have a pending application for a Bristish passport or if you state in your visa application that you are a British Citizen. My wife second visa application was denied becuase she claimed to be a British Citizen (techically she was) in her visit visa application and she was advise to go apply for her British passport. To the glory of God she has been issued her Brtish passport last year. So if you intetested in applying for your BP, start garthering evidence to support your application. If you just want to visit the UK on your Nigerian passport you can apply for a visit visa. Good luck. |
It is apparent from many of the reactions posted there shows our shallow knowledge about the field of Zoology. Zoology is one of the four basic sciences with a wide range of opportunities for its graduates. I am a professor of parasitology and epidemiology here in Nigeria, many of my ex students are managers in banks, public institutions and international NGOs like Unicef, WHO, FHI, sightsavers, etc. with first degree in Zoology. Parasitology is one of the oldest fields in Zoology. It may interests you to know that many of diseases found in Nigeria are caused by parasites - malaria, river blindness, elephantiasis, round worm, lice, ticks, sleeping sickness etc. Medical and veterninary doctors only learn how to treat diseases, parasitologist are needed to help prevent and control these diseases. Unfortunately, we are not training enough parasitologist, that is why Nigeria remains the most endemic country in Africa for preventable parasitic diseases. I will encourage the OP sister to take career in research by getting a PhD and she will never regret it. I am technical advisor to WHO on neglected tropical diseases, and I will be happy to mentor the OP sister into as exciting career in parasitology if she is interested. |
A lot of commenters here have forgotten that in the pass many Nigerian with access to Forex kept it either aboard or under their bed. The dormicillary account system was setup by CBN to encouraged Nigeria to bring in their Forex into the country. What CBN can do is to set a limit on the deposit in dorm Acc. Banning dorm Acc will not solve the problem. |
johnwick1:If you're referring to EEA family permit issued to Non-EEA family member by UKBC, sure you can renew it. All you need to do is apply with same documentation. My advise when next you are back in the UK, apply for UK 5 year residence card. It is issued within six month. |
Portsmouth86:b A big congratulations from us here. It was worth the effort. Believing many other applicants had learnt one or two things from you. Cheers |
Portsmouth86:Congratulations. |
I support this move. I think Nigerian should be bilingual in the face of French neigbours. It will help in economic integration of the region. Added to French, Chinese and Arabic should also be taught in Public schools. Thses are the languages of the future. |
Ildi:I advise you follow Justwise opinion. He is a guru in this matter. Address the reason for the refusasl in a cover letter to ECO, by stating that he made misrepresentation in his previous visitor application and pointing out those representations which happened before/after you met him and started a relationship. Spousal Visa application takes months so I am afraid 4 months is too close. Alternatively, he can apply for 6 month family visit visa now to 'test the water'. If he gets it, that should sort out the previous misrepresentation and refusals. |
justwise:I agree with justwise. Where did his mother exercise her EU treaty right to bring him into the UK via Surinder Singh route? If he has a Resident card sure he can marry his non EEA partner and process the normal spouse visa to join him. There no need to wait for PR, as he will get this after 5 years of UK resident permit. |
