Eduardo just had to score?? |
tkb417:Dude you're only one point ahead of me and you want me to let you qualify?? Abi you think say I be Amos Adamu?? |
tkb417:Eldee happened to Mubz . . . I'm a giant killer. Watch this space. . . I bime is going down after this. |
WINNER OH OH OH!!! WINNER WINNER OH OH OH!!! WINNER ELDEE YOU DON WIN OH WINNER PATA PATA YOU GO WIN AGAIN OH WINNER!! ![]() |
chamotex:I'm a big game player . . . I don't have time for small teams like Chamokizzle Gaylords. ![]() |
Pharoh:Chei . . . I nor read that part. Make I go modify my post chap chap |
Maynne . . . my new name is West Brom FC. Defeated Mubz and Ibime in the space of a month. |
hax:I praised Jay-Z's attempt to force hiphop to grow up . . . your point is?? And everything Weezy or Nikki say now is soft compared to what they rappers used to do in the past. Mainstream hiphop has gone down the drain?? Oh yeah, Snoop Dogg is more mature than Drake and yeah Lil Kim is an angel compared to Nikki. At the end of the day it's simple . . . will I be listening to hiphop at 50?? Nope. I'd prolly still be a fan of U2 and The Script though, definitely dropping Arsenal at 30, I don't wanna die of HBP. P.S The four Drake works I have don't have anything about hoes, dunno what one you're listening to. bouzymill:You don't listen to Drake. . . he's more of a grown up Usher Raymond that raps. His main themes are his struggle towards success and how it conflicts with his old life, his past relationships and just his emotions. That, in my opinion may be kinda childish . . . but more mature than most of the rappers you see around old and new. He even left most of the money talk at Comeback season. |
Nah . . . probably not. Even young Drake once said that . . . 'hiphop is a children's hobby'. Most of the themes of rap songs will not be of any interest to me at 50. . . and the fact that most rappers will refuse to grow up due to fear of change too. Now we have a handful of people rapping about mature topics but I know it will just be another era that will pass away before I'm 40. All that will happen is that one gangster/black nationalist who's really good at rapping will get big and influence the rappers to go back to those days. It happened after Pac's death, there's nothing to stop it from happening again. Hiphop is too narrow-minded, any minor change is heavily criticised. |
chamotex:Bruv . . . hate is a stronger emotion than love, and a stronger obsession also. |
semid4lyfe:He said he doesn't read Nairaland comments. ![]() But I kinda think dissing him on his page is not cool though. . .especially when he's not yet as big as he wants to be. |
Exactly what I was telling Javalove the other day . . . it's okay to diss on blogs. Going to Facebook and expressing opinions and tagging him on it is beyond expressing your opinion, it's confrontational. I see where he's coming from, if you're going to express your opinion about Coke, don't go to their commercial wearing a Pepsi shirt. A chic once got fined for handing out anti-fatty food fliers in front of Macdonalds. It's not only taking it personal, it's disrespectful and cowardly when you do it on the net. |
Ibime:You say it like I've ever come out to say B.O.B is lyrical or sumn. I know what I find good in his album and I've said it so many times. . . it's not his lyrical skills. You're trying to make me sound like some blind fan when I've only talked about him once on NL. |
DBR:Hehehe . . . Nas already had songs with Kels, Lauryn Hill and Diddy and you say he didn't have a huge fan base?? At worst they had equal fan strength in numbers, if anything, Jay-Z rode on that beef to where he is today. Nas was ahead of Jay-Z in artist status back then, Jay-Z launched a Takeover, you don't Takeover from yourself do you?? Anyway, the whole thing that started this was . . . why did Jay-Z lose even though he had more hurting disses?? Because Nas had more fans where it mattered back then. DBR:Hehehe . . . you see where you faltered again?? I already said who was more talented lyrically ages ago. You're debate-thirsty as usual, even Ibime sees where I'm coming from, there is much more to rap beef than been lyrically gifted, it will be extremely naive to claim otherwise. DBR:Listen to yourself speak . . . Majority of Drake's work goes into the musical part of hiphop and that part he does better than Cole. That's as obvious as saying pure water is colourless. DBR:Childish or no childish, you're exhibiting traits I won't see if we were arguing about sumn you're more knowledgeable at say Modenine or sumn. Switching from one standpoint to the other, grasping word interpretations, holding on to the last straw for a lost cause, there's a reason you're doing this cannot be far-fetched, it's not your area of competence. DBR:Then you shouldn't argue and miss the point in the first place. Now I said . . . if Drake went into a battle with J.Cole, the fact that he's with Lil Wayne will definitely help. Swaying bias votes, production, fan appeal, and some of the other things I mentioned. . . now J.Cole is bringing just one thing to the table, 'I'm talented' and these days it's bigger than talent. Drake will get more spins on radio, he'll present his better, have more fans digging it and many other things that J.Cole will not have with Jay-Z. Now Ibime made a valid point, if J.Cole dropped a Roc Nation album . . . got fans to demand a pay-per-view battle in New York or sumn, he'll murk Drake, and I do agree with him. DBR:Now this comes back to how important a player is to the team, in football terms, Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 would be the World Cup Final. You don't consider benching your star player in the match that decides your future. The point is not whether it would have been a bad decision or not, the point is does he consider J.Cole a star player?? Not really. Now why did he put him back?? Now I wouldn't know, but it still doesn't change the fact that before final packaging, he'd informed J.Cole that 'dude, you won't be making the team' and then changed his mind which wouldn't have happened if he were a Fabregas. Football is the easiest thing to understand in this world . . . this is as clear as I can make it. A Star is Born the peak of the album?? That's a personal opinion not a fact. DBR:Dude, when you bring an artist to open for you on a show, I dunno but it just might mean you think the guy's kinda good. I'm not sure though, because I saw Talib Kweli talk about how he won't have had Ye on his gigs if he wasn't feeling him. ![]() Infact maybe some artists let people they consider wack open for them so that they can appear a lot better. ![]() BTW . . .Maybe it's just me but I never saw Mos Def cosign J.Cole, don't get me wrong . . . this is a question of fact not a question of his talent. Talib featured Mos Def on a track and featured J.Cole too, and if you know how collabos are done these days, they send beat to each of the rappers and tell them to record on it, even J.Cole said it that he got the beat in an email, same way Mos Def musta gotten it. And please don't let your emotions speak for you, sit back, read what I said and digest before you say a word. You probably know by now that I watch a lot of J.Cole interviews, so can you not try to play the hater card, it makes you sound like a Modestan ![]() |
javalove:Go check my posts . . . I never insult first, but I don't insult proportionally either. And no, I don't 'swear for' people. We disagree on this issue and I'm not insulting you, some people take things too serious, you're one of them. At least you've learnt not to do that with me, so I don't really care if you diss Damiecool or Mobinga. And please give me a reason why I should give an eff bout the respect book of sum BJ?? All pun intended. |
Ibime:I don't know how true that is, but he does a lot of singing, anything wrong with that?? |
Ibime:It's simple . . . B.O.B thread, I discuss B.O.B, Drake thread, I discuss Drake, Big L thread, I discuss Big L . . . do you need me to go on?? I won't discuss Katie Perry, not because you said I should go to perezhilton.com, just because I don't listen to her music. Did I point out that I don't actually care about your opinion on less 'credible' hiphop artistes?? That said, what other blind assumptions would you like to assert on my taste in music?? |
DBR:Do your research, I can't keep arguing on this. DBR:Hehehe . . . it was a simple trap and you fell for it. I asked if J.Cole could touch him in musical talent and you decided lying was a better thing to do, instead of arguing that it shouldn't count, which would still have been a flawed argument. You're confused, you don't even know what to argue anymore . . . at least Ibime still has an area of competence. DBR:There's a reason artists come out to complain that record labels don't promote them enough, because they don't. I don't care about the terms of the deal, but I know how 50 promoted G-Unit, I know how Wayne marketed Drake, J.Cole doesn't enjoy those benefits. Now you're going back to . . .'yeah, Hov does care bout him' DBR:What exactly is the point of this?? Or would it have been different if I used Vialli?? Oh, why didn't you highlight the fact that Wenger is white and not black like Jay-Z?? Abeg . . . the point of that analogy is simple, Jay-Z is the decision maker on Blueprint III, he considered dropping J.Cole, he decided to drop J.Cole and then changed his mind. Another unnecessary argument from you. . . I do enjoy pointing them out by the way. DBR:Hehehe . . . it's a Cole world, simple question, is taking an artist on tour with you not enough of a co-sign?? You thought you had the joker when you mentioned Mos Def, and as usual you flopped, now it's 'erm erm but he likes J.Cole better' ![]() Drop the poker face, I already aced this ish. DBR:Well . . . I don't need to comment on this do I?? |
Ibime:It's not a hiphop album. B.O.B will introduce himself as rapper, singer, producer all the time. You do your research and tell your gangstas to button up, it's 2010. |
DBR:Shifting goalposts here aren't we?? You spent a whole hour telling me Drake was behind J.Cole and you switch all of a sudden. ![]() |
DBR:But it used to back then . . . the 'hood' counted back then. DBR:This is a basic argument . . . who's musically better?? It's Drake. I don't know why you're dragging this, it's effing ridiculous. Let's go ask Alicia Keys and Kanye. Ye wants to go in on everyone's project, even 50 Cent's. . . but when there are bidding wars on beats, it's a different matter. You're the only person in this world that thinks Roc Nation cares about J.Cole. DBR:The question is not whether he did or not, the issue is, he went beyond contemplating on whether to drop the song or not, decided to ditch it and then changed his mind. I'll use football because it's the dumbest thing in this world . . . Wenger will never contemplate dropping a fit Fabregas to the bench, but he'll contemplate on Eboue. J.Cole = Eboue to Jay-Z. Keep shootin urself in the collar bone , okKABOOM!!! Suicide bombing . . . Drake opened for Mos Def in a few of his gigs. ![]() The irony. Au contrare. .hel falter lyrically where cole is, and in other categories he's just across the road.I won't say any more than Drake can hold his own lyrically . . . I won't gratify your need to argue every single obvious detail. Who needs to produce his own music, even Kanye doesn't do all his music. I've given you the ish that counts and you're here dragging things. I've got an England match to attend to . . . |
Ibime:At the end of the day, they play to listeners . . . it's not like Funk Master Flex comes out to say this person won. Erm . . . Ibime, it's called Airplanes and I'm not obsessed with B.O.B, I just like his songs cus they sound good. I don't need to prove to you that my taste in music is good, music is subjective. You only like pop music, indie or jazz, it's your call. When I come out to say he's more lyrical/uses better punchlines/puns better than X. . . it then becomes objective and I have to say how and why. At least you're agreeing that J.Cole is no more important to Hov than Wale. While Drake has Weezy behind him, J.Cole is doing this alone. |
Hehehe . . . the whole 'hiphop head' army is out . . . ![]() Thank God I don't live in QB . . . y'all would have probably arranged a drive-by on my street. ![]() |
javalove:Yeah you can do it, it's called a right to exhibit stupidity and lack of basic communication skills. |
Ibime:But the white emo chic sang good, and so did B.O.B in many parts of the album. See . . . no one gives a Bleep about the hood, I've never lived in Brooklyn or Compton, so why should I base my opinions on what they think?? I like good pop music?? Yeah I like all good music, good pop music included, what's wrong with that?? |
DBR:If that worked Jay-Z woulda won that beef, Fat Joe woulda won the beef with Fifty. Popularity is the biggest part of hiphop beef, we're human, we are bias with these things. DBR:Dude . . . Nas was the best lyricist when lyrical skill counted. He was religiously followed . . . literally. DBR:Not half as good as Drake's super-producer . . . Young Money has enough power to go into bidding wars with Jay-Z, and Hov's not putting his cards on Hov, he's more into the R'n'B pips. DBR:That's called a lie in English language. DBR:Is it half as good as Drake's?? End of. DBR:Oh . . . just in case you didn't hear, he told J.Cole he was dropping A Star Is Born before the album came out. Hehehe . . . and I read where you said J.Cole got more co-signs, what co-sign is better than being on a Mary J Blige song?? Abeg jare. You already fell into the track, I just pulled you into Drake's field, and that's what Drake will say, 'I can hold my own lyrically against you, and I'm still eons ahead you in every other category' |
Ibime:Drake is more popular EVEN in the black community . . . he' with Weezy. Hehehe . . . Nas had a bigger career than Hov at the time the beef started. Nas was the next best in New York after B.I.G, Jay-Z called it 'Takeover' for a reason. And forgive me for not discriminating against good music. And what I say is simply what I see . . . the average 'hiphop head' still thinks Rakim is a charttopper. |
Sales don't mean shit?? Let me tell you what you don't know, Drake is more popular than J.Cole. More people would rather listen to Drake . . . I'm J.Cole's biggest fan, so I'm not hating or anything. The biggest indication of what people want is the sales, hype, features and things like that. First thing I said in this whole thing was . . . rap battles are not decided by robots, the winner is usually that guy that with the higher number of dedicated fans, that's what Drake has over J.Cole. Let me put this straight, talent does not matter these days in hiphop beef, and that's all J.Cole's got over Drake. Fat Joe murked 50 Cent on My Fofo, but who won the beef?? Drake's got the attitude, sales, fans, money, universal appeal, co-signs, beats, better marketing strategies, hype, Wayne (Jay-Z talks more about Drake than J.Cole), 'swagger', presentation, musical artistry and everything that wins you a battle these days and he's not bad lyrically when he needs to . . . listen to Comeback Season. |
@DBR Abeg top jonsing yourself, real hiphop ko . . .why's Lil Wayne's mixtape selling more than Distant relatives?? Whose bored with Drake?? The same guys that bought a million copies of his albums?? Or the ones that keep begging him for features?? Jay-Zing didn't help Jay-Z back then because he tried to fight in Nas' hole . . . tried to be more street than Nas, he claimed that the street love him more. . . gangster rap was more popular back then. Besides, don't let Jay-Z fool you, he wasn't that famous back then . . . he was till selling 3mil when everyone else was hitting diamond. I'm not even going to drag this . . . especially when you're already saying the people want real hiphop. ![]() Funniest thing is, I was explaining to someone how people want less hiphop than ever . . . shorter verses, eclectic influences, more side attractions and you're here saying people want real hiphop, let's see how much Refelection Eternal sold. |
I think this is really sick . . . your voice accentuates your bars properly. You mastered the delivery and all that. And the hook of the song is catchy . . . . This is one of those tracks you do and you know you've done a good job. Looking forward to hearing more from you. |
@Javalove Why did he tag him?? Because he wanted him to know what he thought of the new Modenine?? Was he lying?? Is Mode not more mainstream than he used to be?? I don't see anything wrong with being more mainstream?? Now Mode already replied as he deemed fit, but you this olodo decided that it's your day job to fight Modenine' battles. You need a life, a job, or flogging from your parents.
Yes i remember 'Somebody wants to die' started with 'with much love'.
1. That song was recorded before Iceberg dissed him. 2. Diss tracks are not personal, comments after the disstrack are what make things personal. 3. All he said on the disstrack was, 'I'm better than y'all' . . . it's called disagreeing. 4. After that he's come out to categorically state that he considers Iceberg a really sick rapper. 5. Did you miss the part where he invited Iceberg for a drink in New York?? I could go on and on . . . |
@Javalove What. . . because only one person threatened you means you're one bad man right?? You think Ruggedman didn't have anyone behind him when he was dissing Kennis and Eedris the most famous agbero?? I've told you before, not only have you got an anger problem, you also have a communication problem. . . enu e ti ya ju . . . if you're going to talk to sumone on Facebook after he's added you, then you're obliged to think before you talk. For the umpteenth time, you're not obliged to insult anyone that doesn't like Modenine . . . it's okay to diss me, I'm no gangster or anything, but don't go looking for people who can put £500 on your head especially when anyone can get a picture of you and your car from the internet. You're beyond obsessed, you're Stanley. |
