The main opposition is happy...if i ask you why now, you will say that APC lost. You actually forgot that Adeleke left PDP which ordinarily should have been the main opposition to him since he left their party after using it to secure power. PDP is nowhere to be found.

ADC had a very poor show. NDC is not even on the ballot. Why are you happy? That APC that came second lost while the party you are hoping will take over next year is not even on the ballot?

This is even a plus for APC. You are no longer shouting rigging because APC lost? If Apc could not succesfully rig only one state in Yoruba land, how did they rig your OBI out ? Just because the governor of osun won his second term doesn't mean Tinubu isn't popular. In the last election in Rivers, people voted fubara as well as Tinubu. It doesn't work that way

People did not vote Tinubu in Rivers state. It is not a Tinubu state. The South South as a whole are not Tinubu’s area.

At that point, he was confused. He had no choice. He believed that supporting Tinubu would help him with his aspiration for his second term. Now the tide has changed in his favour. Now Tinubu needs to approach him to request for his favour. Adeleke now can choose whoever he wants to support for the Presidency. I believe that he will support Atiku once again. The reason that he left PDP was the crisis. The instability of the process at the time did not permit him to join ADC. Again, he made the right choice of not joining Aregbesola, who with this election, it has been confirmed that Aregbesola has no base in Osun politics. Adeleke and Aregbesola were never in the same political boat.

Once again, now it is the turn of APC and BAT to appeal to him to support BAT in 2027. As they say, the ball is now in Adeleke’s court.

Oyebamiji has been left to carry his cross. His next move is to the courts.

He also hopes that the other faction of Accord will unseat Adeleke through the courts.

In all, Adeleke has won. He will do all in his power to retain his seat.

For me, APC did not lose fair and square. Voter intimidation and suppression from APC was absolutely unnecessary. When threats like “kill Accord” members rang out, what did APC expect? A fair win or loss? That threat was more than enough to threaten APC supporters and keep them away from polling booths.

Again, money played its role as usual. Until citizens begin to question leadership, Nigerians will continue to wallow in hardship. It was all over the news that while APC was inducing voters with twenty thousand naira each, Accord was doing the same with ten thousand naira. Where did such money come from, if not from the same resources that would have been used to develop the state further? If leaders use allocations to build structures and provide the necessary social amenities that make living better for citizens, no one needs to give bribes or the usual palliatives. Such resources are apparently embezzled and kept for elections by leaders, who simply choose to live big and impoverish citizens.

In all, we must say congratulations to Governor Adeleke. He fought bravely against all the forces from the Federal, APC Governors, thugs and that irresponsible Senator. That state was very important to the President, even as he chooses Lagos as his home state.

With the kind threat to lives going around, what do you expect? That Senator clearly said “kill Accord members” and got away with it. He repeated his threat again today. We saw thugs from Edi state and we heard from Accord supporters of suppression and intimidation. Expect fear in the hearts of innocent supporters of both parties, who out of fear would simply stay at home.

I believe that most people who voted were party members. A few non party members too, but not much of them.

This is the measure of what to expect in some states next year. States like SS, SE, SW and NW would experience plenty of violence, except something is honestly done before then.

I don't think so. Sowore did not just show up overnight, he has been in the hot kitchen for decades right from the days of badass military government. How can I agree that the words of a Davido who can't last 3 days behind police desk would make a Sowore lose sleep? That makes no logical sense.

So to you, Sowore and Adeyanju, lasting three days or spending time in prison shows good leadership or how responsible one can be? If that is the measure, why have Tinubu, Atiku, Obi, Kwankwanso, etc, not ensured to spend time in jail? If he had that thick skin, why did he respond to Davido? He showed how peppered he was. How would a much younger person call his egbon by that name?

So being a regular visitor to Fela’s shrine qualifies you to be a very reasonable man and an activist in the society? Was Fela’s shrine meant to teach you how to insult everyone who came your way? Was visiting Fela’s shrine supposed to make the individual irresponsible? Ask those who went to Fela’s home on Gbemisola street Ikeja, if they could dare smoke hemp outside the house. He was not an irresponsible man and was not known to abuse everyone, anyhow and anywhere. His shrine had rules and everyone who was around abided but the rules.

Anyway, I have not seen any banter. I have only seen a response from a very bitter and battered Sowore. The pain became worse for him, considering that it was a very “small boy” who called him that name. He never expected such a savage response, talk less from Davido.

Lesson to get learn:

Mind your words as an elder. Not everyone is Obi, Tinubu and Atiku who would just let it go. Even the three of them have the limits of their tolerance.

In this same Osun state, a sitting governor Gboyega Oyetola lost to Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke.

In 2014, incumbent President GEJ lost to Buhari.

In 2023, an incumbent governor Bello Matawalle lost to Daudu Lawal.

In 2015, Ramalan Yero lost to El Rufai.

Ikedi Ohakim lost to Okorocha.

Whether he had concluded his second term or not, becomes immaterial, as long as he was supposed as the sitting governor to win the state for his party. The same went for Kwara state. So get the understanding. Can you number the amount of members of the National Assembly who lost their seats as incumbents?

By the way, did Buhari and APC not defeat GEJ, the then incumbent in 2015? What about the likes of Ikpeazu, Ortom, etc.

I wonder how you are so naive, believing that just because Tinubu intervened with EFCC, he automatically showed support to Adeleke. So does Tinubu have to be in Osun state to campaign openly as your evidence or not of his support for Adeleke? Why does he have the no. 3 man and 10 governors in that state working there? Once again, it is in the interest of the President as the leader of APC, to support his party, whether secretly or openly. It is the business of Adeleke to fight hard to retain his seat. That being the case, what informed Sowore’s reckless comment about the Governor? The fact that I do not reside in Osun state should not permit me to make such unguided statement as Sowore’s, or not show interest in events in the state. Osun state is part of the entire nation. All eyes are on the state as it stands.

If the people of Osun state are at ease and happy with their governor, dancing or having something in the brain becomes irrelevant.

Look at the Abia state governor as our example. All other candidates know that their efforts would become futile, as far as that seat is for the next five years. The citizens do not need to be offered bribes. The governor delivers. If Adeleke delivers, he’s educational level should become irrelevant to the citizens. If he provides their social needs and ensures security, what’s Sowore’s problem?

Regarding changing parties and support of candidates. It is the practice in our country, where tribalism, ethnicity and religious inclinations have become a big issue. Politicians brought it upon themselves and the citizens. Developed democracies talk about left leaning, right leaning, social democrats, far right, centrists, etc. Sadly we do not have such. We have stomach infrastructure politics, borrowing from Ayo Fayose.

Is it right to seat on the fence and watch some wrong individuals get into positions of power? No. As citizens, we must rise up, face them and ensure that only politicians who can make our nation and societies better get into positions. So your brain should move with them everytime they move, ensuring that they only do what makes living better for all. If they find that you understand their deceit, they certainly will either give up or ensure to do what they promised during campaigns and were voted to do.
