Oyinlola said that the car would have accrued to him several times. He said that he left the seat 16 years ago. So in effect, other governors before Adeleke did not give him the car. Remember that politics is about interest and not friendship or enmity. The interest for Tinubu as it stands presently is his party. Yes, Adeleke will support Tinubu’s second term, but in all honesty, does it truly appear that Tinubu supports Adeleke’s second term. It is a big no. The interest at this point is the party and not the family. Tinubu is the leader of the APC and he must be the example to those under him. That’s why today you have all those governors and senate president in the state to win that state for him. They will use all that they can within their disposal to attempt winning.

Adeleke has a very big fight in his hands. I strongly believe that they will slug it out money for money, violence for violence. The well known peaceful Osun state is having its peace and patience tested by politicians.

By the way, how have people swept Aregbesola under the carpet? There are three major contestants, but apparently, the contest has been narrowed to Accord party and APC. Is ADC no longer counted among them?

A couple of days ago, I overheard a property owner lamenting the excesses of agents who bring potential tenants to him. He was completely fed up and wondered why agents would continue to charge so much. The man said that he had decided not to allow agents bring tenants to him anymore.

What we should bother about is not the costs to the property owners. The issue is the fees charged by the agents. Now agents actually fix house rents for landlords, making properties more unaffordable for people. Go around the country and you’ll find uncountable vacant apartments. They are not vacant because they lack potential occupiers. They are vacant because agents simply choose to extort.

What we should bother about is the implementation of the law. We must hope that it is not subverted by agents and property owners. We must not forget that property owners also collect their agreement fees. Such fees have to do with lawyers. So property owners are part of the problem. Cutting off agents charges would affect their agreement fees indirectly.
