You can't say that for certain that he is better. His antecedence has not shown otherwise. Do you think he will improve the quality of public schools to be better than his? I am not sure. This is why sometimes i don't feel like criticising Buhari, because i will feel terrible if at the end of the day someone worse becomes in charge due to activism. I cannot for the hate for Buhari, choose another failure. If i had the foresight,i would rather expend my efforts in calling out Buhari's errors while also advising him to do better. We should be critical of our decisions.

But right here , right now these favourable conditions are not available or obtainable, are you gonna start your life when government policies and dispositions change? Do you have timeline for this desired changes? But here ,as it is you can dance your way around legitimately and make profit also prosper.

Remember , you are on your own.
Work with what you have.

True talk too, bro. Really,d ordinary Nigerian is on his own! I have just eaten my dinner,i didn't wait for the govt; likewise others, even those who may not have anything to eat this night, are not waiting on the govt right now...but of course, only the politicians and their paid touts,e.g,BMC. But at the end of the day,it is our right to expect free healthcare, clean water, good roads, power, quality education,e.t.c.

whoever is defending Atiku is a dunce. It doesn't matter if he made that statement in the past decade,or soliloquise within himself. It bares the same weight with that which was made by Buhari. No past or present leader who has not done anything positively for the masses, has the right to demean us,even in the most subtle way. All'em Bleep leaders never loved us! If atiku could have the idea that made his private school to be academically sound but failed to improve the public schools when he had the chance, then he is no different.

Well, well!
I'm the first place don't compare economies! But compare economics of doing business. While the economies are guiding policies, the economics is what matters, the washman business in Nigeria would be as profitable or more profitable due to population, power outages ( the same power outage would be an advantage to lesser home ownership of washing machines) and also our peculiar asset and character in Nigeria of the thriving informal business sector. Highly flexible and profitable.

The point is, you see what you want to see. One asset that can make you in Nigeria and available to all Nigerians is the availability of over 100 million customers or patrons for whatever you peddle.

Just start something and keep at it.
You are on your own.
You have only succeeded in telling us that our leaders have failed us. if one must truly make it naija, then he has to be a crook. Having over 100 million customers does not translate to improved returns, since their purchasing power is low. And again,Since the cost of running business is high,u can not make good returns unless u reflect that cost in the price of goods, which may lower patronage. this will in turn lead to quality compromise. The importance of having a responsible govt which provides basic amenities to enhance business can not be over emphasized.

I totally agree with you. Though, the issue is more complex now than then. Then, the struggle was only between white & black. But now, we have religion, tribe, ethnic, regional and all sort of divide. This has made it difficult to have a unifying voice. Funny enough, those divides only exist among the lead. A day will come when those who are not corrupt and are trustworthy will be arrested officially as an offense. The religious circle has also so much help in making people suffering and smiling. Because they have brainwash many to just pray without action. A revolution is the only thing that will change the current system to a workable one. Nigerians are on a very long ride.
We are saying the same thing, bro. the nigeria of that time was more diverse than now,but they were all able to set aside those differences to face that common goal; even though if it were to be by power they wouldn't have succeeded. Those attributes of our forefathers to put resistance against enslaving forces are lacking among the present youths. History is filled with instances of people putting resistances to oppressing forces:The Vietnams did it to the US; mandela did it in the apartheid;some igbo slaves did it;even our very people did against the colonials. But the present youth lack the ability. It may not necessarily be through violence. It will surprise you that the day the youth gather to claim their right, the present old men will easily give in. In fact,as africans stuffs like this are right of passage,a culture that introduces boys to manhood...by proving yourself worthy.

I am sick of celebrating Nigerian excellence abroad when we have locals who sit on dirty floors and get molested and raped by lecturers to make their grades. As someone who schooled in Nigeria and abroad, I will have to duff my hat to all Nigerian grads.

Do not be fooled by all those high grades by Nigerians in Europe and the US. I see no reason why a Nigerian who understands the value and cost of education would not excel abroad. For someone who knows that his future depends on education and understands the situation of the Nigerian economy, the best is expected.

When you sit in a comfortable environment, deny yourself of the parties and luxury of student's life, you do not have to work and school abroad, and you have the best professors to guide you even personally in your course.

Bro, they have councilors in these universities who will mentor you and guide you. All you have to do is do the job required of a student. Focus and Study!

Nigerian schools are different. The feeling of how bad the economy is alone is a setback to any student. Unqualified lecturers nepotized into positions that they cannot handle.

Abeg free all these Nigerians excelling abroad and celebrate the real heros and heroines in Nigeria.
I feel u bro. I am a graduate, but if i told you that there is just a thin line between what I knew back in secondary school and that knowledge i acquired in the university, you may not believe me. Most of the lecturers are unqualified(we had one who always came to class to preach the gospel,in
stead of lecturing); the infrastructure is zero; research and students work is zero. Motivation is equally zero...just imagine having lectures in an open arena (uniport) from my year1 to final year, whereby one is exposed to all the distractions in the world. Selective attention in class is impossible! See eh, if you are a graduate of any public school in Nigeria and you are sound academically, then you are very lucky. But sadly, you are still a lazy youth in the eyes of saint messiah prophet Buhari if you don't have a job at the end of the day!

It is a fact that Nigerians are very hardworking people. We even create opportunities for ourselves, provide our own water, electricity, security, road, etc And still pay the government tax for doing nothing.

Old age comes with lots of things. Lets choice our leaders carefully.
the truth is that,we are very lazy in the area of politics-taking the leadership from the old men. they did that in their own age when they took the country from the colonials;they did it when some of them fought in the Biafra war,and all that. They were youths at the time, and they ruled their moment, and also ruling our moment. Only when the present youths take their destiny back. And until then, they will be forever insulted. We may not have any history, because the next generation to come may not be lenient with us to allow us rule in our old age. If what we face here were to be some whites, depression would have made them to revolt violently.

If you want to know the good effect of great oratory if used positively, study the records of Winston Churchill, and co. Great speeches from former president of the US [ ] to his fellow citizens,"think not what America can do for you;think of what you can do for America to make her great", went a lot to ginger the American people to sacrifice for their country. Great orators have used good public speeches to change the cause of history of their people for good. For a leader, good oratory/public speech that command respect is as good as the policies u execute. Your good intentions could be lost due to careless statements. #Buhari has an f9:in act of public speaking.

I still don't understand why pmb's statement has posed a big challenge for people to understand such that many are almost reacting the same way. Though it may be the issue of being lazy to read the statement and understand the content instead of reacting to news media twisted headlines.
That statement of Buhari is as straightforward as straight could be-like saying you are a fool, and not "you act "like" a fool".That statement was not a call for change in attitude or motivation since he did not outline how the jobless youths could on their own create jobs without him creating the enabling environment. it is borne out of pure disdain for the Nigerian youths who he feels can not afford an expensive power bike like Yusuf. For a fact, understanding his statement is not a matter of semantics,say,6 and 9. It is not. If not,how could a man who lacked the +234 803 584 8257 initiative to grow his cows after several years; a man who lacked any business ideas to grow his income so that he had to take a loan to purchase his ticket, say that a lot of the youths are not willing to work? How many of the jobless youths in the streets lack ideas and are not willing to work?

In my own opinion,if i were to run for presidency, my first statement in my manifesto would be to address the lie in the constitution which says "we the people". That obvious lie is the father of all the abnormalities we have as a people since this new dispensation of democracy. That lie is like joining two strange fellows into a marriage union without their awareness and consent-just what that p*le skinned lugard did. Therefore, you don't expect peace and understanding. In my opinion,i will immediately call for the redress of the constitution, with all stakeholders and the Nigerian people involved; that way we have given life to the constitution, and not made it a mere piece of biased document as viewed by dissatisfied voices. And again,I will decisively cut to size the excesses of the Southern and Northern elites, but before then i had made the common Nigerians the sole owners of Nigeria. #Peace out.

Because they lie all the time and support corruption. See here, when Buhari came in, everything was running on corruption... i mean every single institution and guess what, Ndigbo voted GEJ and corruption. How can Buhari support Fulanis killing other Nigerianshuh That is absurd and stupid, but that is what you choose to believe, what do i tell you? Yes, Buhari is old, tired, slow, lacks vision for a 21st century Nigeria, YES, I agree with all that and we need someone younger and credible to bring along yes, i agree but all that you guys want to do is "HATE, divide along tribal and religious lines....
Propaganda is not necessarily lies. If only u went to Benue and saw happy faces allover the places and they told you that their is nothing like killings, only then you can call ipob or whatever liars. And how did your govt harnessed the creativity of the biafrans ingenuity in the war? A sensible govt could have asked questions on how biafrans did it? every now and then Nigerians are doing marvelous things that need support, but aren't. The Anthony Joshua's of our time is making great exploits as a result of the comfortable environment he grew up in. Victor Moses would have likely perished if he had stayed in Nigeria after his parents deaths - but a comfortable environment did it for him. You don't realise that out of every 10 successful persons that made it despite the harsh conditions of the country,90 perished as a result;which is not necessarily their fault. All we are asking for is the level playing ground, that the basic amenities required of any sane govt are provided for the people: that way we can identify those who are truly lazy. Abolish quota system so that we can identify the lazy people; restructure this country to regionalism so that we can identify the lazy regions; provide 24hrs light so that we can identify the lazy persons;fund and upgrade our educational institutions so that we can identify the lazy ones...
