The US removed the Taliban government that was ruling Afghanistan as of then and instituted a democratic Afghan government with their own military thus the Taliban became rebels and were reduced to control a minute region in Afghanistan. For 20 years that's how it was. The Afghan military was never a terrorist organization. They were even receiving military trainings from the US forces.
With the weaponry that they were given amid US withdrawal, it was predicted that Kabul and the other 2 largest cities in Afghanistan won't fall into the Taliban at least till December but it wasn't even up to 3 weeks.
If you have even been following the news you'd know that the first things that were evacuated from Afghanistan after President Biden ordered for the withdrawal was US equipments and weapons. A whole CSG was moved to the middle east to provide cover for the withdrawal.

As at the time of the Peace talk between US, Afghanistan government and the Taliban; A lot of countries even Afghans were asking for the US to leave Afghanistan calling their continuous stay an invasion. It was even one of the condition for peace proposed by the Taliban and the Afghan government for the US to leave Afghanistan matters to be resolved by Afghanistan. Those equipments were sent for the Afghan military to use for their protection and security.

Leaving all that aside and using common sense. When the US was there in Afghanistan, how many region did the Taliban control The US left and Afghanistan fell to the Taliban without a fight and you're saying the US hurriedly left. If you read what Apple said, they are not spying on the phone but icloud when you sync your photos to it.... How will they go after the few when you don't even know them. If I take you to a location you are not familiar with and ask you to arrest the criminals there, how would that be possible if you don't monitor their activities or catch them in the act?

finally welcome to the parte... Reason why I said nobody knew about those I mentioned is:
1) The U-2 was flying over the Soviet Union for 4 years before it was shot down
2) The SR 71 on deployment was the fastest aircraft that led to Russia developing the MiG-25 Foxhound to intercept it

Most of America's defense contractors has black program departments that don't showcase their works like the Skunk works of Lockheed Martin. These contractors get overblown contract budgets just so they can hide their black program works because unlike Russia or China, if a FOI is requested for any of those hidden projects, the DOD is required by law to reveal everything about it.
