The lady with the handle @Queenyetty_1 shared the photo on her handle and wrote

How can you call yourself a woman and not know how to manage and price things in the market?? Went to the market with N2500, and I bought all these and still came back home with N220 change.

However, her claim has been countered by her followers who believe it was way far from the truth. That those items she reportedly bought for N2,500 will cost more than that, even in some village areas with low cost of food items.

Ahead of the Yuletide, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has launched total war on Yahoo Boys who specialise in defrauding unsuspecting foreigners on the internet, Punch Metro reports.

The operation codenamed ‘Cyber Storm’, will involve EFCC operatives monitoring suspicious transactions especially by youths who cannot explain their source of wealth.

The commission will also deploy its agents in nightclubs and concerts where youths usually go to “pop” expensive champagne.

The anti-graft agency will also be monitoring social media accounts of suspected fraudsters who usually show off their expensive cars and houses.
Confirming the development, the Spokesman for the EFCC, Mr. Tony Orilade, said, “The chairman, Ibrahim Magu, has constituted a Special Task Force on Internet Fraud.

The task force, is made up of personnel from ICT, Public Affairs, Operations and Special Control Unit against Money Laundering.”

As part of the operation, the EFCC has already arrested over 50 suspected online fraudsters in the last 10 days in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Ibadan.

An EFCC operative said, “We have declared a total war on Yahoo boys who have done nothing but given Nigeria a bad name home and abroad. We know their methods of operation. Be assured that in the coming days we will make more arrests.

“Those who live honest lives will not be touched.”

Meanwhile, the EFCC has arrested three suspected internet fraudsters, at No 24, 1st Avenue, Fort Royal Estate, Airport Road, Abuja.

The suspects are; Marvin Nwankwo, Prince Ojenike and Jude Olatekobowale. They allegedly created a Facebook account with the following names: Rodney David; David Rodgers and Carlos David, respectively.

The EFCC said in a statement by its acting Spokesman, Mr. Tony Orilade, that arrest was based on intelligence report that the suspects turned the said residence into their office, using laptops, phone and other gadgets to defraud innocent people, including foreigners, of their hard earned money and other valuables.

The statement added:

“The intelligence further revealed that the suspects aged between 22 to 30 years, used the proceeds of their crimes to acquire different properties such as cars which include a GLK Mercedes Benz SUV, a Toyota Corolla, amongst others.

“On receipt of the intelligence report, operatives of the EFCC swung into action and mounted surveillance on the said address, to monitor the activities of the suspects.

“After thorough investigations, the suspects were arrested and items, which included several laptops of different makes, very expensive mobile phones, modems, many SIM cards, amongst others were recovered.”

This is coming after the singer made a post via his Instagram page to celebrate Alisha on her 1st birthday, which initially gave the confirmation that he fathered the child with the actress.

However Gifty has just taken to her Insta-story to deny Mr 2kay as the father, with the claim that she is not a baby mam, but a mother and it is only a woman that truly knows who the father of her baby is.

Just as dramatic as Gifty Powers is, we know this is just the start of another dramatic part of her life.

Gifty had earlier denied she dated Mr 2kay, despite that latter's claim that they were an item and also photos of them surfacing at different locations, on the internet.

Popular Nigerian OAP, Daddy Freeze has just alleged that his ex-wife Opeyemi, has run of the country with his kids.

The OAP made the allegation some moments ago via his Instagram page, where he stated that he had been in the dark on the whereabouts of his kids for sometime, only to find out that they are not in the country at the moment.

An Indian man scams phone buyer in Lagos after he allegedly sold to him a fake Samsung S9 phone for N100,000.

According to the man who took to his Instagram page to report the incident, the Indian man claimed he needed to sell the phone to raise cash to travel back to his country. But he only realised the phone was fake after he had parted with N100,000

He wrote:

I got the shock of my life today, I wanted to change phone so I contacted a guy that assured me that he will get me a very good one. I was driving when I received a call from the guy, that someone wants to sell his phone, that I should hurry down.

I got there, he introduced me to one Indian guy, that the Indian guy wants to sell his phone, what I saw was a galaxy s9 plus, I asked him how much, he said 250k, that he needed money to travel back to India because he was stranded.

I inspected the phone, not an extensive check though, I offered to pay 100k, he agreed, I immediately headed straight to the bank and withdrew 100k and handed it over to him.

I only realized that it was a fake phone he sold to me, when I noticed that it's front camera was sealed with plastic after taking a very close look, To make things worse, that money wasn't mine, I had the intentions of buying then resell at a higher price.

This phone looks so real! He even gave me the phone receipt, we even took pics together, find attached copies of the receipt, the phone and the Indian guy's pictures. I know quite well that when this post get shared some people will make foul comments, but just pray not to face worse situation, Please beware

Kenyan footballer Allan Mbote, has been struck dead by lightning as he celebrated his team’s equalizer against their opponents.
According to a report by The Standard of Kenya, the victim, Allan Mbote, was a 20-year-old Kenyatta University student. He played as a defender for a team known as Red Sharks.

The incident happened on Sunday, with five other players also injured by the lightning during Nangina Ward Football Tournament at Luchululo village.

Three of the players are still on admission at Nangina Mission Hospital.

Kenyatta University has confirmed the death of the second year student.

The MP for the area, Dr. Oundo Mudenyo also sent his condolence as he wrote:

“Some tragedies are hard to take: lightening striking a player during a soccer match! RIP Allan Mbote.”

The Standard reported that Mbote’s death was the latest lightning tragedy to hit Kenya in recent days.

A Chelsea fan loses his job after it was revealed he was among the set of spectators who allegedly racially abused Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling.

Colin Wing, 60, has come forward to protest his innocence and claims he did not call the England international a ‘black c**t’, although he did admit to verbally abusing the footballer.

He told the Daily Mail:

‘I’m deeply ashamed by my own behaviour and I feel really bad. ‘But I didn’t call him a black c***, I called him a Manc c***.’

He added he had lost his job and season ticket after being identified and he should now be left alone because everyone had ‘got what they wanted’.

But Sterling, 24, said he did hear racial abuse and has since spoken to police about the incident. Chelsea have said they will issue severe sanctions if it is proved some of their fans racially abused Sterling during Saturday’s 2-0 home win against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

The London club, who have suspended four fans while investigations into alleged racist abuse towards Sterling are continuing, have also said they will support any criminal prosecutions.

David Ombugadu, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, has told young political candidates in the upcoming 2019 election that they do not need money to win elections, Premium Times reports.

“You don’t need money to win elections. You need people, resolve and connections to win elections,” he said.

He said he dug 230 boreholes in three local governments of the state among other projects without budgetary allocations.

Mr Ombugadu, a member of the House of Representatives representing Akwanga local government, made the comments while speaking at a three-day gathering of about 400 young candidates of various political parties, which commenced on Monday in Abuja.

Different speakers, including young lawmakers from other African countries and leaders with inspiring stories, were at the event and took turns to enlighten the 400 young candidates on the best strategies on winning elections and leadership.

The event tagged ‘The Convergence: Power, Capacity, Politics’ is an initiative of the Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth and Advancement (YIAGA Africa) and the Not Too Young To Run movement, one of Nigeria’s largest and most successful youth movement in recent times.

While using his “achievements” to explain to the candidates how he has stayed relevant in politics over the years, the lawmaker said he was able to execute vital projects in the state through networking and ‘meeting with the right people’.

“…In my first two years as a lawmaker, I dug 230 boreholes in three Local Governments and that is my track record. What people want to see is life-impacting projects,” Mr Ombugadu explained.

“I brought the biggest transformer in Nasarawa State through serious commitment and networking.

“The transformer I brought is worth about N800m and no budget allocation for my constituency at the national assembly can give you that kind of money but the good thing about what we do is networking.”

He explained how he executed the projects in the state even without budgetary allocations.

“I have been opportune to represent Nigeria in three countries and that is what you benefit when you are in the national assembly.

“Your interaction with fellow parliamentary members in other countries might translate to dividends of democracy to your people and the reason why I have been able to sustain this level of influence is because of these life-impacting projects I executed in Nasarawa state.

“I have an NGO. We have covered 11 local government out 14 in Nasarawa.

“We have covered every ward in those LGAs. We have built more than 60 boreholes in churches and mosques. We do not go to the LGAs without having a project to commission. That is our basic approach. We are winning this election and we will dedicate it to the Not Too Young To Run Movement.”

4 people identified as Francis Ume, 32; Chidubem Achezie, 44; Peter Ume, 44; and Ejike Jacob, 41, have been arrested by the Lagos Police for allegedly producing fake Dettol disinfectant and Air Wick air freshener in the Okokomaiko area of the state, Punch Metro reports.

The state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, told journalists on Wednesday that the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Okokomaiko Police Station, CSP Aliyu Lukman, acting on a tip-off, mobilised his operatives to the suspects’ operational base and arrested them.

He added that the operatives also impounded a truck loaded with cartons of the fake Dettol and air freshener valued at N7m.

Imohimi said,

“Does this look like the original Dettol? But this can easily confuse anybody in the market. These are fake products and I am sure that the company that manufactures Dettol and Air Wick will be interested in this because their products are being faked.

“The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Okomaiko Police Station, CSP Aliyu Lukman, following a tip-off, which turned out to be credible intelligence, was able to monitor the activities of these four suspects and in the process, discovered that they had rented an apartment where they were manufacturing these products. After manufacture, they bottled them and pushed them into the market as original.

“So, you can imagine when mothers are using this type of fake Dettol to bathe their children or use it for medicinal purposes and it’s not working. People will begin to question the original company manufacturing Dettol that they are reducing the efficacy of the product.

“We have impounded a lorry load of the fake items estimated at N7m. I urge everybody to be vigilant when they go to the market. And that is why most of the manufacturers of products usually tell members of the public to look out for certain trademarks or NAFDAC approval when they buy their products.”

The CP added that investigation was ongoing and that the suspects were still being interrogated with a view to discovering their other outlets and accomplices so that they could be shut down andthe other suspects would be arrested.

A civilian with AK47 spotted in Abuja, has been exposed on social media by a man identified as Olumide Olaniyan, who raised the alarm after seeing the armed civilian roaming freely in Nyanya.

According to him, he felt like challenging the man, but he had a 2nd thought as he was not sure of who he really was.

He then took to social media to call the attention of security operatives to the incident.

I was driving along Mararaba-Nyanya road this morning. I saw this man with a gun that looks like AK-47 or an automatic gun, I initially thought he is a security personnel, but, his dress, shoes and overall shabby look suggests otherwise.

I was tempted to go ask him about his ID card and why he was such a psychological violence to onlookers. Then, I remembered Maama Sunde's counsel those days I used to do student activism at the University of Bariga, "ma se subolation si oro oloro, [don't interfere in other people's matter, face yours]".

I felt that it is my business to ensure that there is safety and security in the land. I felt like questioning this dangerous looking man, on behalf of Nigeria. But, my sense talked to my brain, they both forced me to drive on.

I will never know if the man is a vigilante, or a state security personnel. That certainly was not a Dane gun. That clothing was not a security personnel uniform. An undercover agent won't expose himself with an automatic gun in public. Our country is currently a fragile state, no onewho isn't a security personnel, should be allowed to move around with arms which may distress others.

Could this man be one of those so called Malian herdsmen that have flooded Tangaza LGA and other areas in Sokoto state? Nigeria needs to protect its territories from (possible) internal and external aggression. When people just walk along, unbothered with this kind of an uninformed and ununiformed man in their midst, it means we are drifting towards Hobbesian Democracy.

Shatta Wale will not die - This is a statement attributed to world renowned Ghanaian evangelist Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, after a prophet declared the singer will die on December 24th, 2018.

Lawrence Tetteh explained that as a powerful man of God, he has not seen Shatta Wale dying in the spiritual realm, or it has not been revealed to him that the musician would die.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies to arrest Diezani Alison-Madueke, the former minister of petroleum, within 72 hours.

According to The Cable, the order was issued by Justice Valentine Ashi based on a motion filed by the counsel to the EFCC, Msuur Denga.

Denga had earlier prayed the court to issue a warrant for the former minister’s arrest to enable the anti-graft agency arraign her in court.

The EFCC investigated the former minister along with Jide Omokore, a former Chairman, Atlantic Energy Drilling Company, following a petition dated October 2, 2013, from Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, CACOL, bordering on money laundering and official corruption.

EFCC said in a statement that investigations into the petition revealed that Mrs Alison-Madueke as supervising minister of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, was found to have engaged in illicit and monumental fraudulent dealings in oil transactions, which she entered into on behalf of the Federal Government.

Mrs Alison-Madueke and Mr Omokore are also alleged to have accepted and given gifts in properties located at Penthouse 22, Block B, Admiralty Estate, Ikoyi, and Penthouse 21, Building 5, Block C, Banana Island, Lagos.

They are to be arraigned on February 25, 2019 on a five-count charge for the offences, which are contrary to Sections 26(1) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.

When the matter came up on Monday the Commission however filed application for warrant of arrest, condition precedent for Mrs Alison-Madueke’s extradition protocol to bring her back home to face trail.

The prosecution told the court that Mrs Alison-Madueke, who is currently in the United Kingdom, jetted out of the country while investigations into the alleged fraudulent acts were ongoing.

The court today, granted the ex parte motion, and ordered the security agencies to provide Mrs Alison-Madueke within 72 hours, for her to face the charge preferred against her.

“The Inspector General of Police, the Chairman of the EFCC, the Attorney General, the Department of State Services, are hereby ordered in the name of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria to apprehend and arrest the first defendant and produce her before this court for further directives within 72 hours,” the judge held.

And thanks to his content, young Ryan has managed to earn $22 million (£17 million) in 2018 with appearances from his parents and twin sisters.

Ryan’s earnings, which do not include tax or fees charged by agents or lawyers, have doubled compared with the previous year when he was placed in eighth place after bringing in $11 million (£8 million) in revenue between 2016 and 2017.

Federal High Court in Osogbo, on Tuesday, turned down the bail application of a former OAU lecturer Prof Richard Akindele, dragged before court for allegedly demanding sex to upgrade the scores of one of his students, Monica Osagie.

The court rejected the bail application, which Akindele filed through his lawyer, Francis Omotoso, after the prosecuting counsel for the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, Kehinde Ayantoye, opposed the application.

In opposing Akindele’s bail application, the prosecutor filed a counter-affidavit, which was deposed to by a police detective, Afolabi Oluwatoyin.

In her ruling, Justice Maureen Onyetenu said the allegations contained in the counter-affidavit were weighty.

At the resumed hearing of the matter on Tuesday, the prosecutor, Ayantoye, told the court that he had been served with Akindele’s bail application.

He, however, said he had filed a counter-affidavit in opposition.

Moving the bail application for his client, the defence counsel, Omotosho, urged Justice Onyetenu to admit the professor to bail in liberal terms.

But opposing him, the prosecutor told the court that Akindele might not attend trial, alleging that the professor refused to report to the ICPC office in Abuja, after he was granted an administrative bail to travel to America to attend to his health.

The prosecutor further alleged that the embattled professor was caught on tape chanting incantations to derail the case.

He added, in the counter-affidavit, that Akindele was also allegedly involved in child pornography.

Justice Onyetenu said the allegations raised in the counter-affidavit were weighty and directed the prosecutor to produce in court on the next hearing date, the tape in which Akindele was caught allegedly chanting incantations.

While adjourning further hearing till December 17, 2018, the judge ordered that Akindele should be taken back to prison.

Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has mentioned that even though it is true the current administration promised change to Nigerians, it didn't mention it will come within 4 years.

Fashola said this at the inauguration of President Buhari’s 2019 campaign in Ikeja, Lagos State on Tuesday November 20th.

“In 2014, we said we would change Nigeria but we did not say we will do it in four years. This election therefore is a choice between going forward to the next level or backward because the work has already begun.

Since I became a minister, the president has never interfered in what I do. He has never lobbied me for contract and I can assure you that it is like that with other ministers.

The oil revenue the former government took advantage of, what did they use it for?” he asked

Speaking further, Fashola took a swipe at the main opposition party, PDP. According to him, the opposition would not have lost the election in 2015 if they had performed very well.

“We have watched what happened in 16 years of nothing to show. Some people are trying to rewrite history now. You don’t sack a good employee. If they are living in delusion and say it was good governance, why did they lose the job? In 2017, the budget on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was cut from N30 billion to N10 billion. You know who was presiding (then).

“Buhari has inaugurated an infrastructure development fund to ensure that Lagos-Ibadan, Second Niger Bridge and Abuja to Kano Road would never suffer funding problem again. Just yesterday, the two contractors on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway got a total of N15 billion to continue the work. The same thing is true of the Ikorodu-Sagamu Road. That road, for 16 years, was nothing to write about.”

A woman has rushed herself to the Office of the Public Defender in Lagos after her husband allegedly rapes her and beats her with chain.

According to a man who posted the story on Twitter, the women is recovering from complications she got from a recent C-section and despite the pains, the husbands still beats her at any slight provocation.

The man has called out for help on behalf of the woman as it appears she was not being attended to at the public office she ran to.

He wrote:

This woman was seen today at the Office of the Public Defender, Surulere. Her husband beats her with a chain (YES A CHAIN) anytime they have a misunderstanding. She is traumatized. Her parents still advise her to stay in marriage Pls she needs help, anyone know welfare link.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC set dates for governorship elections and that of the States House of Assembly for the 2019 polls.

According to the chairman of the commission, Mahmood Yakubu, the set dates for the Area Council elections in FCT will hold on March 2, 2019, along with the governorship and state Assembly elections, The Punch reports.

He also disclosed that the list of candidates for elections will be published in its Federal Capital Territory office and also at the six Area Councils on Wednesday, 21st November, 2018 (today).

Yakubu disclosed this during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners at the Commission’s Conference Room, INEC Headquarters, Abuja, on Wednesday.

He appealed to citizens to check the personal details of the chairmanship and councilorship candidates that seek to represent them.

“He noted that the Area Council elections in FCT will hold on March 2, 2019, along with the governorship and state Assembly elections,” INEC says.

Party primaries for the Area Council elections ended on 27th October 2018, INEC noted.

A man identified as Chima Okoro, who worked as a baker in a bakery has been imprisoned for allegedly stealing loaves of bread and N80,000 in cash.

He appeared on Wednesday before a judge at the Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court.

The police, charged the accused who resides at No. 4, Otua St., Ijora 7up, Lagos on two counts of theft, breaking and entering.

The prosecutor, Sgt Hafsat Ajibode told the court that the accused committed the offence on November 7, at 2am at Kilometre 45 Lekki/Epe Expressway, Sangotedo Lagos.

She said that the accused, an ex-employee of Daily Mama Bread Industry broke into the bakery and stole 135 loaves of bread worth N30,000; and also stole N80,000 all valued at N110,000.

The prosecutor told the court that Okoro, who was laid off after a shortage of N80,000 was discovered in his sales proceeds, absconded.

“He later came back, broke into the bakery and stole 135 loaves of bread of different size from the bakery and was caught by a security guard,” she said.

The offence, she said contravened the provisions of Sections 287 and 309 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

If convicted under Section 287, the accused is liable to three years imprisonment while Section 309 (1) prescribes seven years imprisonment for anyone found guilty.

After the charges were read to him, Okoro, pleaded not guilty.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.

Elias ordered that the surety must be a responsible citizen and gainfully employed.

He adjourned the case until November 27 for mention
