Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has stated that he would rather give his tithe to the needy rather than drop it at the church, Yen Ghana reports.

According to him, his decision is borne out of the fact that the needy “need it more” than the church does. Tithing is one of the most controversial topics among Christians in the 21 Century, as many disagree on how it should be given.

In fact, there are even some churches that do not believe in the process of tithing and insist on not paying their tithes.

Dumelo, though, appears to believe in tithing, but says he often gives his to the needy rather than to the church.

In a Twitter post, which he has since deleted, the star actor said he doesn’t know if his actions are wrong, but believes the needy need such monies more than the church.

“I give my tithe to the needy most of the time. I think they need it more than the ‘church’. I don’t know if it’s wrong,” he wrote.

A popular night club in Lagos, Club DNA has come out to refute the claim that Wizkid's bouncer was macheted in the club over the debt the singer is owing the club.

It was earlier reported in some news media that a particular bouncer identified as Roy, who doubles as Wizkid's bodyguard as well as the Chief bouncer of Club DNA, had an altercation with another staff of the club.

As against the initial report that linked Wizkid's debt to the fight between the bouncer and the other staff, the club has released a statement to deny the report.

It has been brought to our notice that news circulating stating Wizkid’s bouncer (Roy) was attacked at CLUB DNA and related to Wizkid’s outstanding bills at the club.

We would like to make clarification that it was a situation of indiscipline on both side . Roy works at Club dna as the chief bouncer and the accused also work at the same club as an MC. Altercation happened when both staffs were talking to a senior staff and both started an argument and rapidly rose to a fight.

The matter is now been handled by the Nigerian Police and they are getting to the matter. . .
We would like to clarify that Wizkid’s outstanding bill has nothing to do with this fight.

It was a situation of two staffs indiscipline act. Wizkid’s outstanding bill is a different issue to be addressed separately and vividly.

News went round various platforms some few weeks back that reality TV star Nina and Pawpaw are dating. The actor has however come out to debunk the rumours.

According to Pawpaw whose real names are Osita Iheme, the photo of the duo that went viral was taken on the set of a new movie, Tribune reports.

Pawpaw noted that he was not bothered about the reactions the visual had generated. Instead, he was interested in projecting his latest work, Babysitter.

He added that nothing could distract him from focusing on the next phase of the movie production.

Matters are made worse when the babysitter was kidnapped.”

Relatives of a woman who hid her her baby in car boot for about two years, have insisted on Wednesday that they had no idea of her secret, at a trial that has drawn horror in France.

Rosa Maria da Cruz, 50, faces up to 20 years in prison for keeping her daughter hidden away until she was nearly two, leaving her with serious mental disabilities.

Discovered in 2013 in the filthy trunk of a Peugeot 307, the baby Serena had also been kept in an unused room at the family home in the Correze region of central France.

It was a mechanic who found the baby in the trunk after da Cruz, who is originally from Portugal, took the car to be repaired.

Hearing a noise, he opened the trunk to discover the baby in a car seat, naked, filthy and dehydrated. She was surrounded by maggots and excrement.

The trial, which opened on Monday, has heard remarkable testimony from relatives of how da Cruz was to all appearances a model mother to her three other children.

Her partner Domingos Sampaio Alves insists he had no idea she had given birth to another child and kept it a secret.

By way of explanation, he said he went only once a month on average to the small ground-floor room, under renovation, where da Cruz kept the baby much of the time.

He also did not visit the car often, as he does not have a driving licence.

“I don’t know why she did this,” he told the court in Portuguese through a translator.

The unemployed bricklayer was originally charged, but investigators concluded there was no reason to doubt his account.

Da Cruz was released pending trial, and the couple have stayed together.

“I continue to live with her because she is a good mother to the children,” Alves told the court.

They have kept their three older children — aged nine, 14 and 15 — but authorities have refused to let them have contact with Serena, who is now aged seven and living with foster parents.

In her opening testimony Monday, da Cruz fought back tears and told the court:

“It’s very hard to be confronted with reality, with the damage I have done.”

Serena now suffers from severe mental impairments including irreversible autism which medical experts have linked to sensory deprivation during her early months.

A paediatrician who examined Serena and her siblings after the discovery said her team had been “stupefied” by “the gulf between Serena’s situation and those of her brothers and sisters”, who appeared to have been “perfectly raised”.

“You could see she had been a good mother, and we could not understand why Serena had not received the same quality of care at home,” the doctor said.

Judge Gilles Fonrouge said that while the child was now in good physical health, she was “closed off to interactions around her”.

Marie-Pierre Peis-Hitier, a lawyer for social services, said the child could only say a handful of words, adding that it had taken a full afternoon to win the child’s trust.

In emotional testimony, da Cruz’s sister and nieces also said they had no idea of Serena’s existence, adding that she was a “loving” mother to the other children.

“Inside I think she is suffering. She knows what she has done,” her niece Elodie told the court.

The trial heard that da Cruz had initially hidden the pregnancies of two of her other children from her partner, not wanting to face reality.

A Nigerian lady with the name Olorogun Marbel Peters has called out SARS officers in Port-Harcourt over an alleged extortion of N100,000 for a crime she didn't commit.

According to the lady, the officers way-laid her at the entrance of her estate and after checking her documents, they insisted she had to follow them to their station just because she didn't have with her her company ID Card.

They later charged her with armed robbery and set her bail at N2 million before they finally agreed to accept N100,000

Today is definitely one of my worst days.. I woke up a bit feverish with slight headache so I cancelled my activities for the day, at about 6:30pm I decided to go get drugs,because my condition seemed to be getting serious and also get pizza for my mum just 7mins drive away from my estate..

On getting back to my estate, a blue Prado jeep stopped right in front of me and some armed men on uniform came out asking me to park for a search, I obliged, they went through all the vehicle papers and drivers license etc very much complete..

The next question I was asked was they needed to see my company Id ,I tried to explain to them I didn't have it on me because I just drove out to get pizza from the next bus stop and they said I was under arrest for stealing a vehicle and I couldn't give them an ID of where I work, I obliged and we drove to their station and the whole story changed..

One of the officers made a phone call and he said I was among the criminals they received a call about.. I tried to beg, I even showed proof of the medications I got, they gave me a paper to make a statement,in the process they took my phones from me and started going through my phone, from my chats call logs down to my bank mails etc....

After spending 2hrs with them they demanded for a sum of 2million naira as my bail,for a crime I do not know.. This is pure wickedness and evil... I never stole, robbed, violated any rules etc... We finally came to an agreement after keeping me hostage from 6pm till 12am that I should pay them 100,000naira..

One of the officers even approached me trying to sexually harass me!! This same men didn't even mind the time they comfortably drove me to an ATM machine so I could make a withdrawal for them...

These men are criminals!! I was granted bail by 1:30am after spending 7good hours... Someone's hard earn money This Is totally unacceptable, Are you guys not meant to be protecting lives ? Why will you extort someone of their hard earn sweat!! I thought SARS had ended... (officers names are : officer Matt, Emma, security, Friday)

Professor Ben Nwabueze has reportedly said he will not die until Atiku Abubakar who is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) becomes president of the country.

Nwabueze reportedly said this on Wednesday, November 14 when the former vice president paid him a visit.

Segun Showunmi who is the spokesman of the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign organisation, shared a picture of both men in an embrace.

Atiku also shared a picture of him and Nwabueze saying he reminded him of the unfinished Nigerian project.

He wrote:

“Professor Ben Nwabueze is a patriot and Nigeria’s foremost constitutional lawyer. In a very emotional meeting in Enugu, he reminded me of the unfinished Nigerian Project. I assure him, and every Nigerian, that I’ll keep my word.”

Igbo leaders, including the Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Igbo Leaders of Thought have declared support for Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Peter Obi for the 2019 presidential election.

Following their star-studded wedding over the the weekend, Linda Ejiofor has revealed how she met and fell in love with Ibrahim Suleiman, her husband.

According to Linda Ejiofor, the duo had been friends for years before they decided to take the relationship to a next level after sharing a closer relationship on the set of Tinsel in 2016.

Ibrahim and I have been friends for a few years now, but it was not until after his mum passed away in June 2016 that we really started to bond. He was in a really dark place and was ready to throw in the towel and move back to Abuja so he could be closer to his siblings.

I (along with a few members of his inner circle) was able to convince him to stay in Lagos.He accepted a job as an Architect with a design and build firm, while working towards his first solo exhibition as an artist.

In November 2016, I, Harry Dorgu, and Adesua Wellington talked him into showing up for a reading for a role on Africa Magic’s TINSEL. Prior to this, he had never acted a scene in his life, so it was quite a coin toss for him.

The audition went well and he landed the role of Damini White, a character who is Bimpe Adekoya’s boss who becomes her onscreen lover.Over the next 13 months, we had to see each other on set 3-5 times a week and then our friendship grew stronger.

Ibrahim developed feelings soon after but was hesitant as he didn’t want to risk losing me as his closest friend if the relationship didn’t work out.

Eventually, he squared up and told me how he felt. Turns out the feeling was mutual and we both started dating quietly, with only their siblings, very close friends and a couple of colleagues in the know.

A Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ilupeju-Ekiti, Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State, on Monday sentenced one Adeleye Ajayi to two-year imprisonment for stealing 600 tubers of yam in Ekiti.

Chief Magistrate Joseph Ayodele found Ajayi guilty on two counts of conspiracy and stealing.

Delivering judgment, Ayodele stated:

“The prosecution has proved its case of conspiracy and stealing against the defendant beyond reasonable doubt.

“On count one bordering on conspiracy, the defendant is hereby sentenced to one year in prison, with an option of N20,000 fine.

“On count two bordering on stealing, the defendant is hereby sentenced to one year in prison, with an option of N20,000.’’

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Sgt. Adeniyi Famodimu, had told the court that Ajayi and three other convicts earlier sentenced, as well as one person still at large, between August and September 2017 conspired to steal the tubers of yam valued at N150,000.

The crime was committed at Igbomole Oke Farm Area of Ilupeju-Ekiti.

The prosecutor said the offences committed contravened sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Vol. 1 Cap C16, Laws of Ekiti State,2012.

A man marries hologram after he had been unsuccessful in getting a real woman of his dream.

The man identified as Akihiko Kondo opened up that his mother refused an invitation to her only son’s wedding in Tokyo this month, AFP reports.

A hologram, according to Wikipedia is a photographic recording of a light field, rather than of an image formed by a lens, and it is used to display a fully three-dimensional image of the holographed subject,

“For mother, it wasn’t something to celebrate,” said the soft-spoken 35-year-old, whose “bride” is a virtual reality singer named Hatsune Miku.

Around 40 guests watched as he tied the knot with Miku, present in the form of a cat-sized stuffed doll.

“I never cheated on her, I’ve always been in love with Miku-san,” he said, using an honorific that is commonly employed in Japan, even by friends.

“I’ve been thinking about her every day,” he told AFP a week after the wedding.

Since March, Kondo has been living with a moving, talking hologram of Miku that floats in a US$2,800 desktop device.

“I’m in love with the whole concept of Hatsune Miku but I got married to the Miku of my house,” he said, looking at the blue image glowing in a capsule.

He considers himself an ordinary married man – his holographic wife wakes him up each morning and sends him off to his job as an administrator at a school.

In the evening, when he tells her by cellphone that he’s coming home, she turns on the lights. Later, she tells him when it’s time to go to bed.

He sleeps alongside the doll version of her that attended the wedding, complete with a wedding ring that fits around her left wrist.

Kondo’s marriage might not have any legal standing, but that doesn’t bother him. He even took his Miku doll to a jewellery shop to get the ring.

And Gatebox, the company that produces the hologram device featuring Miku, has issued a “marriage certificate”, which certifies that a human and a virtual character have wed “beyond dimensions”.

Kondo’s not alone either: he says Gatebox has issued more than 3,700 certificates for “cross-dimension” marriages and some people have sent him supportive messages.

“There must be some people who can’t come forward and say they want to hold a wedding. I want to give them a supportive push,” he says.

Kondo’s path to Miku came after difficult encounters with women as an anime-mad teenager.

“Girls would say ‘Drop dead, creepy otaku!’,” he recalled, using a Japanese term for geeks that can carry a negative connotation.

As he got older, he says a woman at a previous workplace bullied him into a nervous breakdown and he became determined never to marry.

In Japan, that wouldn’t be entirely unusual nowadays. While in 1980, only one in 50 men had never married by the age of 50, that figure is now one in four.

But eventually Kondo realised he had been in love with Miku for more than a decade and decided to marry her.

“Miku-san is the woman I love a lot and also the one who saved me,” he said.

And while Kondo says he is happy to be friends with a “3D woman”, he has no interest in romance with one, no matter how much his mother pushes for it.

Two-dimensional characters can’t cheat, age or die, he points out.

“I’m not seeking these in real women. It’s impossible.”

Even in a country obsessed with anime, Kondo’s wedding shocked many. But he wants to be recognised as a “sexual minority” who can’t imagine dating a flesh-and-blood woman.

“It’s simply not right, it’s as if you were trying to talk a gay man into dating a woman, or a lesbian into a relationship with a man. Diversity in society has been long called for,” he added.

“It won’t necessarily make you happy to be bound to the ‘template’ of happiness in which a man and woman marry and bear children.”

“I believe we must consider all kinds of love and all kinds of happiness.”

You remember Ese Walter? The lady that was allegedly involved with Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA church in a sex scandal. The new gist we have is that Ese Walter is separated from husband Benny Ark, whom she got married to less than a year after the scandal in 2013.

Being in this space where I can be me. Whatever that means to me, and the many changes that will rise, without worrying about pleasing another person outside myself, is very freeing. Selfish too. (I am a selfish woman)

It gets lonely sometimes but at least this lonely makes sense. The type of lonely I used to experience didn’t make sense. How can you feel lonely when you have a live-in partner?

So yes, I do look better and that’s because I FEEL better about Ese. And I no longer have to hide my uncomfortable truths.

It also helps that Boobdaddy and I have been able to build friendship. We used to be good friends before marriage tried to scatter the friendship

Brothel owner Dennis Hof has won an election to Nevada's State Assembly three weeks after his death.

Mr Hof ran as an outspoken Republican for Nevada's Assembly District 36 before his death at the age of 72.

The pro-Trump candidate still found favour with the voters and patrons of Hof’s Nevada brothel, even from the great beyond just to keep his memory alive.

Elections officials said that Republican Dennis Hof won a seat in Nevada’s State Assembly, with 53 percent of the vote in his Clark County, beating Democrat school administrator and political newcomer, Lesia Romanov, who amassed 47 percent of the vote.

Dennis Hof had attempted to mould his political image on that of President Donald Trump, often referring to himself as “Trump from Pahrump” after his hometown in Nevada, according to reports.

The brothel owner, who ran an anti-establishment campaign, got into the crucial race after winning the primary but was not destined to see his political triumph.

This October, Hof was found dead at Love Ranch, one of his legal brothels, after his 72nd birthday party, which featured guests such as legendary porn star Ron Jeremy and potential Republican Senate candidate Joe Arpaio.

Reports have it that Nigerians at the at the ongoing Lagos International Trade Fair have been rushing the sachet soup, known as Shito (black chili sauce) Ghanaians entrepreneurs brought to the event, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

According to reports, many women were seen on Wednesday besieging the Ghana stand at the fair to buy Shito, packaged in 500g and selling for N1,000 per sachet.

Queuing to buy the soup, a banker, Mrs. Tessy Imagoro, said the already-made soup had saved her from having to make soup after her daily office work on the Lagos Island.

“The soup in sachet saves time for me from going to the kitchen to make soup after my busy schedule daily. I like this innovation,’’ she said.

Her colleague, Mrs. Taiye Odu, described the soup as creative, saying that she had never seen that kind of innovation before.

“I am buying the soup because I see others buying it. Since it can be kept in freezer and microwaved later, I think it can save a lot time.

A business woman, Mrs. Nneka Williams, said she bought the soup out of curiosity and that she planned to start making a similar delicacy to sell to Nigerians who might be interested.

“The idea looks good. I want to look at the possibility of introducing it to a larger segment of the Nigerian consumer market,’’ she said.

The Ghanaian maker of the soup, Mr. David Amoah, said that the soup was patronised mostly by corporate women, whom he said hardly found time to go to the kitchen after their daily jobs.

“The sachet soup is moving more than I anticipated. I never knew that Nigerian women would be so interested in Ghana soup.

“The soup is already cooked and there is no need to cook it any longer. It can be eaten hot or cold,’’ Amoah said.

The soup is packaged in red sachets with description of ingredients such as pepper, tomato, onion, fish and crayfish.

A man has been arrested at the airport after using his ex-girlfriend's card he stole from her to book for Holiday flight to Paris with his new girlfriend.

Angel Exford, 29, dated Michael Fehsenfeld, 26, for a few months before their relationship broke down in September.

On a date before the break-up he claimed he had lost his wallet so she gave him her purse to pay for their meal.

He used the chance to take her card details and after blocking her on social media, money started to mysteriously leave her account.

From flowers to hotel rooms the final straw came when flights and accommodation to Paris were paid for with her card.

She realised he was showering another girlfriend with gifts and a romantic getaway - so she decided to get revenge.

Miss Exford found out when Mr Fehsenfeld was due to fly to Paris and turned up at Gatwick Airport to catch him on October 5, where police were ready to arrest him.

The dental hygienist, from south London, shared the story on Twitter where it has gone viral with the hashtag #fraudbae.

Mr Fehsenfeld pleaded guilty to fraud at Camberwell Green Magistrates Court on October 22 and was later sentenced to a 26-week sentence suspended for two years, as well as 150 hours of supervised community service.

Miss Exford received compensation, while her ex-lover was left with fraud on his record for taking her card details and using them with intent.

Dental hygienist Miss Exford, from Lambeth, south London, said:

'We'd only been dating for two or three months and I was starting to really like him. We'd met at an event over summer and it was physical attraction initially. He seemed like a nice normal guy and we were getting on well.

'But in July, on a date to a Camden nightclub, he told me he'd lost his wallet. I agreed to pay for the date and he took my card up to pay. It didn't even cross my mind that he would then steal my details and use my money to spoil his real girlfriend.

'After that date he blocked me on all social media which I thought was odd. Then a month later, I noticed money disappearing from my account.

'I couldn't believe it, flowers and flights to Paris were just some of the things he bought.'

Miss Exford was unable to see her ex's posts, so got her friends to follow him on social media to find out what he was doing.

Then when an easyJet transaction showed up on her account, it had a flight reference on it, which she used to track his details - exposing him and his other girlfriend as the people who were booked in to travel to France.

She added:

'Thanks to my friends who helped assemble all the evidence from Twitter where he'd written he was going to Paris, I was able to go to the police.

'I cancelled all my cards and as my card had been used for the flights I was able to access his boarding passes, one for him and one for his girl.

'We then decided to confront Michael with police at Gatwick Airport and he was arrested.'

As well as flowers and the trip to Paris, the fraudster had used Miss Exford's money to pay for a Sky TV subscription, council and parking ticket bills - as well as buying likes on his Instagram account - totalling £1,200.

She decided to publicly expose her love-rat on social media, and her post has since gone viral with thousands of likes and re-tweets.

Writing on a long Twitter thread, she posted:

'I was a bit hesitant about exposing Michael Fehsenfeld as I didn't want my business out like that and I just couldn't deal with the stress of it.

'However he really took the p*** out of my life and disrespected me to a whole new level when I was nothing but kind to him.

'Now I'm like f*** this humble, be the better person c***.

'This is why people feel the need to walk all over me! I'm so over it. I wanna make sure he doesn't do this to anyone else.'

Mr Fehsenfeld's social media accounts are also at the centre of the scandal, facing an onslaught from angry girls fuming at his actions.

Two Nigerian men may likely be deported from Cambodia after they were arrested for engaging in a street fight, on Monday, at street 392, Sangkat Beung Keng Kong1, Khan Chamkamorn, Phnom Penh.

Nmegbu Joseph, 28, and Michael Daniel, 43, were initially arguing in a restaurant before they hit the street to exchange punches.

The police were later called and the duo were taken to Beung Kenkong police post for case preparation before being sent to the Immigration Department.

The fight between the duo has caused a serious controversy on a Cambodian Internet Forum as they were labelled Scary-looking Black Guys fighting on the street.

A lecturer in an Asian University mistakenly launched a pornographic slide in class while taking his students on a course.

In a video posted on popular social medium, Twitter, the presentation could be seen sliding from one photo to another until it reached a video, which continued to play.

The lecturer was not immediately close to where his laptop was and the slide played for close to 30 seconds before he rushed to close the Window.

Students who captured the video of the pornographic slide could be seen laughing at the background while some of them covered their faces with their books so as not to be defiled from the sight of the rather illicit video.

The video was eventually posted on twitter by a lady identified as Samantha and it may soon go viral.

A Ghanaian pastor over the weekend reportedly cancelled a wedding over the couple's HIV status.

According to a report by Yen Ghana, the couple identified as Joyce Waithera and Paul Waithaka were instructed to take a HIV test before walking down the aisle and when the results came in, the pastor refused to officiate their wedding.

The cleric, Jesse Karanja, even went as far as calling the police to drive the couple's guests out of the church compound.

The bride and groom could not bear the embarrassment and decided to stay away from the premises leaving the guests to feast on the food before leaving.

Everything from the decorations, sitting arrangements to the cars meant to ferry the bridal party went to waste after pastor Jesse refused to show up for the ceremony.

According to a guest close to the family, Jesse kept giving insensible excuses as to why the wedding could not take place.

"The pastor has been taking us round in circles since 10.30am to 6.30pm. He has given us excuses that do not make sense then decided to call the police for no reason. He is not a doctor and cannot comment on the couple's status," the irate guest let out.

Another guest stated the pastor had his own personal problems but had no right to transfer them to the couple that just wanted to be united as man and wife.

"I just pity their parents because I do not know what is going on in their minds," he said.

A church elder was later recorded saying the Mizpah House of Prayer does not tolerate immorality and proclaims a life of purity. According to the church, sex before marriage is frowned upon and couples are required to stay celibate before marriage.

The Dean, Faculty of Law of the the Ambrose Alli University in Edo state, Prof. Suny Edeko, has distanced himself from the strike action declared by the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU on November 4th.

In a post shared on his Facebook page this morning, Professor Edoko says strike is an outdated means of negotiation by the professors of negotiations. He faulted claims by ASUU leaders that the universities are underfunded.

In his opinion, all sectors in Nigeria are underfunded but the most important question is what had been done with the past funds allocated to Universities.

There are several reasons why I will not go on strike. They are all important but the most important is that strike is an outdated means of negotiation by professors of negotiation. Strike is like an expired and fake drug that can only complicate the health of the ailing baby and possibly kill the baby. If we want to inject potent elixir into the ailing baby, we must look towards other directions other than strike.

Please read the whole story and find the reasons for the strike before you comment: "The strike is to protest the poor funding of Nigerian universities and alleged plan by the federal government to increase students fees and introduce an education bank." There are a few reasons why I will not support the strike.

Firstly, there is no sector in Nigeria with adequate funding. I am sorry to say that even in a corrupt place some people feel they don’t have enough to loot. In the area of funding, note that all institutions in Nigeria deserve better funding.

However, with negotiations, the Federal Government of Nigeria is fully involved in developing all higher institutions in Nigeria including those owned by the States.

For example, in a state university headed by one digital vice-chancellor, the federal government presence includes (a) Twin Lecture Halls Building (b) about 1000-Seat capacity NLT (c) ICT Centre Building (d) ENT Building (e) Library Building Rehabilitated (f) Faculty of Law Rehabilitated (g) Engineering Faculty Building (h) Faculty of Arts Building (i) Faculty of Life Sciences (j) Faculty of Social Sciences (k) Faculty of Physical Sciences (l) Faculty of Management Building about to start (m) Faculty of Education Building about to start (n) 1000-seat capacity University Main Auditorium (o) Law faculty Auditorium (p) Overseas scholarship for lecturers from which my friends have benefited and (q) many more I have lost count.

And this is a state university, not federal. The Federal Government is trying although things always remain to be done even in rich countries. Note that the above things are being done by the FGN in state universities and state colleges of education and Polytechnics.

Secondly, as for schools fees, I share the view that all Nigerian students deserve free education up to Ph.D. level. In federal universities where it is alleged that they want to increase school fees, depending on the university, students pay between N30,000 and N60,000 per annum.

Why should I go on strike for such students when fresh students in Osun State University pay N253,000 and we are not going on strike for them. Many state Universities students pay between N100,000 and N200,000.Nobody is going on strike for them but we want to embark on strike for students in federal universities who pay lesser school fees that even if fees are increased they may never be up to N100,000.

Thirdly, Education Bank was created by a law of the National Assembly titled The Education Bank Act, Cap 422 Laws of the Federation 1990. The long title states that it is an Act to establish the Nigerian Education Bank to approve and disburse loans for educational purposes and for matters incidental to it. If there is such a bank and it is not working well, we rather find ways to make it better and not to kill it.

Fourthly, since we claim to be fighting to protect the interest of students, there should be a vote or referendum on the strike by the students so that the strike supposedly meant to protect their interest can only go ahead if those affected approve it. Students did not send ASUU to go on strike for them.

Students know how to fight for their rights. ASUU,please count students out of your strike. Look for better reasons to go on strike.

Fifth, strike, no matter how strong can never end plans to increase school fees or establish education bank meant for the interest of students. There are plans even in the richest countries to increase school fees.

They may or may not be concrete plans. There are plans to always increase salaries in the same way there are plans to increase school fees not only in federal universities but also in state and private universities and other schools at all levels. Should this deserve a strike that will further destabilize the already destabilized academic calendar? I think it doesn't deserve strike. But it deserves negotiations without strike.

Sixth, there are many professors or scholars and experts in arbitration and conflict including labour disputes resolution with extensive skills in negotiation. They can bring their experience and expertise to light with such level of management that there may be no strike to get what you want. Please reason this again and ask yourself whether this strike is worth it.

Seventh, where negotiations fail, use propaganda to ruin the government. A strong propaganda machine can make even a strong government to collapse. Use your brains in a superior way. You will be surprised more and better things will be achieved by that. Prove to the nation the brains you have.

Popular Nigerian fashion designer Mai Atafo office was over the night engulfed in fire which burnt down almost all the items in the office.

The designer who made the announcement via his Instagram page, acknowledged the swift response of the men of the Lagos State Fire Service, whom he claimed arrived at the scene 5 minutes after they were contacted.

He wrote:

Today I say a BIG thank you to the Lagos State Government Fire Service for a remarkable job well done.

This is clearly the first time I can say I have seen my tax in action.

A call to 767 at 11:30pm on Saturday night and 5 minutes later give or take we had men from the fire service in full action. Speed, expertise and dedication from the firemen saved the day and I am still full of gratitude.

It was finally discovered that it was the electrical point (socket) of the air conditioner that must have started the fire and the only person in the building ran past the fire extinguisher for dear life (can't blame the guy) We lost a production room several ironing tables, industrial irons, sewing machines etc. Luckily the windows were all shut so the fire couldn't last so long but the heat was really powerful and proceeded to do the final damage melting everything else.

Where the fire and heat ended soot took over, let's just say the fashion trend for the night was all beautiful with tint of soot.

We are thankful to God that they no injuries or lives lost and high spirits to get back to production today.

An Assistant Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Abayomi Shogunle has declared a Yoruba Woman wanted after she appeared in a viral video stealing at a party.

Just some few days back, the video of the woman surfaced on the internet and she could be seen pilfering some party items and stuffing them into her bag while at a party.

Although, the video appeared staged as some social media users suggest, the Senior Police officer in Lagos has declared the woman wanted.

He wrote on Twitter:

WANTED PERSON Please help me find this Yoruba woman. If your tip leads to her apprehension, I have a cash reward for you.

The officer was however castigated by some of his followers over the use of the word Yoruba Woman as well as the way he personalized the arrest. The post was considered tribalistic by a user who expressed his dissatisfaction over the officer's use of the phrase.

Some of his followers questioned his integrity and on what grounds is he making the arrest. As a Police officer or as a Private Investigator?

Yomi Shogunle, though have given insights into some issues regarding policing in Nigeria in time past, but he is considered not fit by majority of his followers who feel his posts on social media are rather unprofessional and controversial and do not portray him as professional Police Officer.

The father of a bride, Mr Adugbe has cancelled the wedding of his daughter to her fiance, on the wedding day in Ibadan

According to reports, Oluwaseun Adugbe's father called off her wedding to Tunji Curtis, her fiance of five years and the father of her five year old child.

Tunji had arrived Ibadan with his family and friends to marry the love of his life but to his uttermost shock, his father in-law told him point blank that the wedding had been called off.

When asked why he took such a rash decision, the father, Mr Adugbe who is a native of Edo state, told the groom that he failed to honor a meeting he called for on Friday which should have preceded the wedding on Saturday.

A distraught Tunji told Tribune that he was shocked at his fiancee's father's decision

“This is shocking. I don’t believe this is truly happening, because my wife and I had no issues at all and I can’t remember having any issue with her father. In fact, I sent money to her father last week Thursday as part of my contributions towards the wedding.

I asked my father in-law what went wrong; he told me that I failed to honour a meeting yesterday. I tried to explain to him that I was extremely busy making sure that everything was in place so that we could have a smooth celebration.”Tunji said

Asked what his next plans would be, Tunji simply said:

“Right now, I just want to forget about this drama and cool off. I will think of the next thing to do when I wake up tomorrow.”

Tunji’s elder sister, Abibat, who came to Ibadan with about 15 persons, including family members and friends, said she was disappointed by the actions of the bride’s family, adding that

“You can imagine the excuse that they gave for the cancellation of the wedding. I have never seen any family that is as irresponsible as this. I don’t blame them; I blame our son, who took the wrong step. The wedding is over and we will be going back to Lagos anytime from now,” she lamented.

Another member of the family, Olayinka Ogunbajo, who brought the wedding cake from Lagos said the family members met the father of the bride on their arrival from Lagos with the cake, saying

“the father told us where we would keep the cake on Friday. He welcomed us heartily into his house and there was no reason for us to think otherwise. On getting here this morning, we were told that the wedding had been called off. I am speechless.”

Efforts to speak with the bride’s father proved abortive as he declined comment. The bride also declined comment.

A lady has taken to twitter to share her experience with her boyfriend's mum with her followers on Twitter. According to the lady, the woman tested her with cassava peeling task when she went visiting.

She later realised it was a test after the woman called her 8 months later to confirm why she didn't marry her son, which she told her she couldn't marry into a poor family, but it was all a test.

She wrote:

"I've followed a guy to their house before and his mother tested me. I passed her test with flying colours.

When she called me 8months later to ask why I refused to marry her son, I looked her dead in the eye and told her, I cannot marry into a poor family.

God, it felt good.

This woman saw me with my long ass acrylic and asked me to peel cassava, her young daughter told her I've long nails, she smirked.

Well, I peeled the cassava, took it to be ground and before she woke up next day, I was frying garri.

She approved but I was disappointed bigly.

I was angry, because the first time, my bf brother came to my father's house, the rumour was that they didn't train me, I will be materialistic , I won't be submissive.

I pegged it as inferiority complex ,I didn't know the whole family will start testing me.
Very appalling.

President Muhammadu Buhari's son, Yusuf Buhari undergoes NYSC in Abuja. This is according to a post shared by his sister, Zahra Indimi, via her Insta-story.

In the photo, Yusuf is pictured in his National Youth Service Corps uniform.

He’s reportedly serving at the orientation camp in Kubwa, Abuja.

If you recollect, while popular Nigerian pop star Davido was at the Lagos orientation camp for his mandatory youth service, so many Nigerians across social media had sought to know if Yusuf was gainfully employed and if he observed the youth service set for every Nigerian graduate below the age of 30.

Well, it all looks like the son of the President has sealed that loophole and done the needful as required by the Constitution that every Nigerian graduate must serve the nation.
