A bus driver, Taiye Adams, who was involved in accident with ex-governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has accused him of refusing to repair or replace his damaged bus.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority also accused the former governor of damaging their motorcycle he allegedly crushed in the accident on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

They said efforts to reach the governor or his aides had proved abortive since the accident occurred on December 5, 2018, Punch Metro reports.

On the said day, the former governor was reportedly speeding on the Third Mainland Bridge when he rammed into Adam’s bus and the motorcycle, which belongs to LASTMA.

The ex-governor, who sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash, was taken to a hospital for treatment after which he was discharged.

But the owner of the bus, Adams, said Fayose had promised to replace his mangled vehicle, but had refused to honour his word.

He said,

“My vehicle had broken down on the Third Mainland Bridge that day when a LASTMA official rode his motorcycle to the spot. He called a towing truck from their office at Iyana Oworo. I put a C-Caution sign on the road to warn other motorists.

“While we awaited the arrival of the towing truck, the LASTMA official was also diverting traffic from my bus.

“Fayose, who was alone in his car, was driving on top speed when he rammed into my bus. He also crushed the LASTMA motorcycle. A lot of people came to his rescue and the vehicles were taken to the LASTMA office at Iyana Oworo.”

The 42-year-old Offa, Kwara State indigene said when he approached the traffic agency a few days after the accident, he was assured that Fayose would compensate him.

Adams said he was later referred to the LASTMA headquarters at Oshodi, where he met one Mr Bakare, the official in charge of the case.

He added,

“I told him that the bus had been damaged beyond repairs. Mr Bakare asked me the value of the vehicle and I told him it was N1.7m. He said Fayose would pay the money.

“When I did not get any feedback, I went back on December 23, 2018. The LASTMA officer said Fayose was not responding. I asked him if the ex-governor did not admit to his fault or he was not just ready to replace my bus. Mr Bakare said he did not respond. When I consulted with my union leaders at the motor park, I was advised to get a lawyer to engage with Fayose.”

The case had been referred to the Femi Falana Chambers.

The spokesperson for LASTMA, Mr Mahmud Hassan, said aides of the former governor had taken Fayose’s vehicle from the yard.

He noted that Fayose and his aides did not honour their promise to compensate the driver, adding that the agency’s damaged motorcycle was also left unattended to by the ex-governor.

Hassan stated,

“Our motorbike was also badly damaged. The bus, the motorbike and Fayose’s vehicle were all moved from the road to our yard. His aides came to our yard to remove his vehicle and they promised to get back to us. But we have yet to hear from Fayose or his aides.

“Because of his status, we believe that something will be done. But as we speak, even our damaged motorbike is there just like that.”

Fayose could not be reached on his two telephone lines and text messages sent to the numbers were not responded to as of press time.

His spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, who was the first to break the news on Twitter, could also not be reached on the telephone.

Messages sent to him on Twitter had yet to be replied to as of the time of filing this report.

A group of young secondary school students are currently trending on Facebook after showing excitement to be suspended from school.

The young boys who took to the social media website to make the post are currently receiving mixed responses as some of their friends are hailing and some other users wonder the kind of students that are being bred in Modern Day Schools.

It is not known what offence they committed, but the students seem to be in the final year in High School and rather consider the suspension as a medium to have more fun outside of school.

Young Muslims in the UK woke up before dawn today to clean the streets of 50 towns and cities as a lot of the country were nursing a hangover.

More than 1,000 Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) members held a special prayer then put on hi-vis jackets to go out and collect hundreds of bin bags of rubbish from last night’s celebrations.

British Ahmadiyya Imam Qamar Zafar said:

‘From Luton to London, Glasgow to Guilford, Cardiff to Croydon, across the entire country 1,000 members of AMYA participated in the New Year’s Day clean up.

‘Islam urges every Muslim to partake in charitable giving, community service, and promote cleanliness. ‘AMYA has and continues to instill young people with a sense of civic responsibility, and a desire to promote harmony within our local communities

He added:

‘The New Year’s Day Clean-up campaign ensures Muslim youth can be active members of society and serve their communities and the environment.’

In 2018 AMYA, the UK’s largest and oldest Muslim youth group, held more than 300 community clean ups and planted 20,000 trees across the country.

AMYA Yorkshire youth coordinator Nadeem Ahmed said:

Thousands of Nigerians will miss their visa appointments as the United States, US embassy in Nigeria, located in Abuja and its consulate in Lagos have shutdown indefinitely.

This implies that persons who have applied for tourist, study, business visas, immigrant visas or any other travel document will have to cancel their plans.

The US embassy in Nigeria said in a Facebook post that the development was caused by the government shutdown in the US.

The statement read,

“Due to the current US government shutdown, the American centres located in the embassy, Abuja and Consulate-General, Lagos are unfortunately closed. They will re-open once the US government shutdown is resolved. Sorry for any inconvenience to our valued patrons.”

The executive arm of government led by President Donald Trump and the legislative arm have been at loggerheads for nearly two months over Trump’s attempt to build a wall along the Mexican border.

Building a wall was one of Trump’s major campaign promises as part of efforts to curb illegal migration and crime.

He had boasted during his campaign that the Mexican government would pay for the wall.

However, with the refusal of the Mexican government to fund the wall, the President approached the US legislative, asking the bi-cameral institution to provide $5bn which would be used in funding the wall.

The Congress, however, rejected Trump’s proposal.

On December 11, Trump held a televised meeting with Speaker-designee, Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer, in which he asked them to support $5bn in funding for the border wall.

They refused and Trump said:

“I am proud to shut down the government for border security … I will be the one to shut the government down. I’m not going to blame you for it … I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down.”

Three days later, Politico reported that Trump was willing to sign a bill that delayed a government shutdown into 2019 and the new Congress.

On December 19, the Senate unanimously passed a continuing resolution, the Further Additional Continuing Appropriations Act, 2019, lasting until February 8, 2019.

Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday has said that she didn't evade arrest because of Seyi Edun her colleague, over a recent altercation they had on social media.

Some days ago, the actress took to her Instagram page to state that actress, Seyi Edun, had attempted to get her arrested.

She stated that when the policemen got to her house, she was already on her way to the airport. However, many people on social media insinuated that Nkechi actually ran away from her house to avoid getting arrested.

In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Blessing refuted those claims.

She said,

“Why would I run away because of Seyi Edun? (That means) she must be the president of Nigeria. I was actually supposed to travel on the 17th but I had to change my flight ticket to December 21 because of a movie I finished shooting on December 20. Should I have changed my ticket because of Seyi?

I had left my house for the airport about 15 minutes earlier when I got a call from my mum that some police officers were in my house. As unprofessional as they were, they did not even state the main reason they came and who sent them.

First, they said I did business with someone and cheated the person. Later, they said I threatened someone. My mum didn’t buy their story because they looked like kidnappers; so, she asked them to leave her house that I was already on my way to the airport.”

The actress also claimed that she reported Edun to the commissioner of police.

“Of course, I had to start calling those I know too because it felt like a life threatening situation when I heard that policemen came to my house. What if they were kidnappers? However, all that is in the past now because I don’t think I have time for drama. I want to be drama-free (from now).”

On what caused the rift between both of them, Nkechi stated:

“Sincerely, I don’t know who advised her to send police officers to my house without evidence. She claimed I threatened to release her sex tape but she is not even my friend; we are just colleagues. Where on earth could I have got her sex tape from; that is even if she has one in the first place.”

Reacting to speculations that they were fighting over a man, Nkechi said,

“Who gave her a man? She is actually with someone’s husband.”

Responding to the actor, Mr Macaroni, who alleged that the actress had become a nuisance on social media, Nkechi said,

“That one is just a cheap attention seeker and people like that don’t deserve my reply. I don’t know him; so, that settles it. I don’t care about such comments because they fail to realise that if you don’t make noise about yourself, no one will do it for you.”

Actress Tonto Dikeh after buying a phone charger for N30000 took to her Instagram page to lament on the living condition of most Nigerians who couldn't afford basic items.

According to the actress, she didn't feel comfortable buying the phone charger for N30,000 and had to return the head which cost N15,000.

Controversial Nigerian investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has written on how pop star Davido's mum appeared to her in a dream and told her she is not proud of her son.

The singer who is currently enmeshed in an assault controversy, is always at loggerheads Kemi, who had predicted something spectacular would happen at his concert in Lagos.

Kemi who claimed to be a prophet, had claimed most of the prophecies/predictions she made in the past have come to pass.

2 men have been arrested for robbery in Bayelsa State during the Christmas celebrations in Yenagoa the state capital.

One of the suspects was said to have won a jackpot of N4m from a popular football lottery firm about three weeks earlier, before he was arrested over his involvement in armed robbery.

According to sources, the suspect was also a popular member of a cult in the area, Punch metro reports.

The sources, who said they were surprised by the development, noted that they were expecting the young man to use the money he had won to start a business or trade.

They added that they were surprised that his N4m was already gone.

The two robbers were arrested on Christmas Eve at Swali, a suburb of Yenagoa, near a popular new generation bank in the area.

The two robbers waited for customers to withdraw money from the bank before attacking them.

They were, however, unlucky as they were apprehended while they were committing the crime.

Spokesperson for the Bayelsa State Police Command, Asinim Butswat, said the suspected robbers were in police custody.

He added that they were helping the police in their efforts to nab other members of the group, who were still at large.

Butswat said,

“On December 24, 2018, at about 7pm, two notorious armed robbers were arrested at Swali by UBA Bank, while waiting to rob unsuspecting members of the public of their money after withdrawals.

“The suspects are Henry Kingsley, 28, from Nembe Local Government Area, Bayelsa State and one Moses Roland, 25, from Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State.

“They were arrested in possession of one locally made pistol with 9mm live ammunition and one locally made pistol with AA live ammunition. The suspects are in custody and are undergoing interrogation.”

The police spokesperson advised members of the public to report any suspicious movement of persons in their neighbourhood to the police.

Ghanaian soldier sues British Army for £150,000 after accusing them of failing to protect him from the British winter.

Michael Asiamah says he suffered from a 'cold-related' condition after officers neglected to supply him with warm clothing during an 18-hour exercise in the freezing wind.

The 36-year-old, who served with the Adjutant General's Corps, said the army exposed him to the cold despite knowing that people of black Caribbean and African origin are more susceptible to cold injuries.

Mr Asiamah, who was born in Ghana, told the High Court the exercises on Salisbury Plain and Naseby Battlefield in Leicestershire left him with numbness and pain.

He claims that superiors failed to warn him to bring kit such as gloves, winter socks and boots for the exercise in March 2016, and when he told them about his susceptibility to the cold he was told to carry on.

The ex-trooper, who now heads an evangelical church near his home in Tidworth, Wiltshire, had served in the army until October 2016.

He was part of the Adjutant General's Corps, which is responsible for the British Army's many general administrative services such as HR, finance, accounting and IT.

In court papers, Mr Asiamah claims he is at risk of aggravating his symptoms if he leaves his home in temperatures under 15C (59F), reports the Daily Express.

He says he was first made to attend five hours of lectures in the cold while dressed in civilian clothing at Naseby.

That was followed a week later by manoeuvres on Salisbury Plain, which took place from the early morning until midnight.

His court writ quotes a study carried out in 2009 that claims back British Army soldiers were 30 times as likely as their white colleagues to get a cold weather injury.

The ministry's own protocol for non-freezing cold injury states that those suffering from the condition should be evacuated immediately.

Army officials maintain that Mr Asiamah was given the appropriate clothing for the exercises and are expected to contest the ex-soldier's claim.

A suspect arrested by the Police has spoken on how Alex Badeh was killed.

The suspect identified himself as Shaibu and he spoke in Hausa Language while being paraded by the Police.

The translation of his confession was however provided by a user of twitter who wrote that Shaibu and his accomplices had only wanted to rob the former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh, of some money they believed he was carrying with him in the car.

He wrote:

Lemme oblige u bro. His name is Shaibu from Barde. his elder brother Ciroma came from the market and told him that he got intel that old soldier(Badeh) has bought another land and would be coming to make payment so so day. They decided to waylay him and collect the money.

Those that had arms blocked the car in front while the others followed them from behind in case they try to turn. Badeh's driver opted to charge through and ciroma opened fire on them. They opened the car and saw a lot of cash but the guy cannot confirm how much was inside.

Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama, the Catholic Archbishop of Jos, fed 991 inmates in Jos Prison on Christmas Day, NAN reports.

The Catholic priest said that the gesture was aimed at giving the prisoners a sense of belonging in the society.

“Christmas is a season of love and alms-giving, and these prisoners are part of the society, so we need to show them love and care.

“This is what prompted my decision to do this in the last 18 years to celebrate my Christmas with them; to wine and dine with them,” he said.

The archbishop called on well-meaning Nigerians to remember the needy, particularly in seasons of love like Christmas.

The prelate also urged the prisoners not to be disturbed by their present state, but use it as a springboard to attain greater height in life.

He also called on government and relevant authorities to make the prisons in the country more habitable for the inmates.

Other items such as beverages, bathing and washing soaps and body creams, among other items, were donated to the inmates

A man identified as Rotimi has taken to his social media page to call out staff at Abuja Airport, alleging that he and other travelers at the International airport were pushed out in the middle of the night.

In his post, he alleged that the staff at Abuja Airport claimed they had closed by 2a.m and no passenger will be allowed to sleep within the premises.

He wrote:

A UK man who had a fling with a Thai woman while on vacation in the Asian country has cried out for help after the woman sent a Christmas gift to him all the way from Thailand.

According to the man, he really had a good time in Thailand and the gift reminded him of his time in the country. He therefore doesn't want to discard of the gift, but he's concerned about his wife finding out.

A girl I had sex with on holiday has sent me Christmas presents and I’m terrified my wife will find them – but I don’t want to give up my exotic lover.

I’m 39 and my wife is 36. I went away with two mates to Thailand leaving my missus at home with the kids who are seven and ten.

My friends and I had a great time, surrounded by cheap beer and gorgeous girls, although I didn’t take much notice of them until a young girl of 17 approached me.

She was so beautiful and I felt young again. She came on to me and I couldn’t resist her. We had mind-blowing sex that night and every night from then on until my holiday was over. I was happy to give her money because her family are very poor.

I’m now back at home but I can’t concentrate on my work. I keep sneaking away for naughty phone calls with her. My phone bills are sky-high and my workmates have noticed that I’m distracted.

My wife said a parcel had arrived for me last week. It had a Thai postmark on it so I knew it was from my long-distance lover. I told my wife the hotel were sending me a belt I’d left in my room and quickly squirrelled it away to my car where she couldn’t see it.

I opened the parcel when my wife was asleep and found my lover had sent me some personalised gifts – a mug and a T shirt both showing photos of her stark naked.

She looks as good as I remember. I’m worried about my wife finding out but I can’t bring myself to throw them away. I don’t want to leave my wife or give up my lover. I’m planning another trip to Thailand in the New Year.

A Zimbabwean woman has applied for protection order against husband after she claimed he constantly beats her and they last had sex in 2016, which she is already getting starved of.

Gloria Shana applied for the protection order in court against husband Terrence Chikoto.

“He is my husband but he assaults me in front of the neighbours,” said Shana.

Shana also told the court that she was sex starved.

“He just leaves the house whenever he wants, coming back anytime he wants. I last enjoyed my conjugal rights in 2016,” she said.

In response, Chikoto disputed allegations posed against him.

“She is my wife and our marriage stills subsists. I had never assaulted or insulted her. I enjoy conjugal rights but it seems as if she is now enjoying it with someone else.”

Presiding magistrate Noah Gwatidzo granted the protection order in favour of Shana.

The Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has released the evidence to proof Buhari is Jubril of Sudan, just as he promised to do.

Nnamdi Kanu had said that he would as a matter of fact release scandalous evidence against President Muhammadu Buhari with details to back up his claims that a body double is impersonating the president in Aso Rock.

He however shared a copy of the letter Buhari addressed to the National Assembly on his official Twitter Page.

To further prove his theory that the current President was Jubril from Sudan, Nnamdi Kanu claimed that Buhari’s signature in 2016 was different from his present signature.

He tweeted;

“I keep stating, everything about Jubril is different from late Buhari. They promised ‘change’ in 2015, now we know what change means.

“Compare his signatures in 2016 & 2018. I ask proud Nigerians that can barely reason, have the signatures not changed?My goodness!”

The immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh's friend released by the killers just days after he was abducted while Badeh was assassinated.

It was learnt that Alex Badeh’s friend was released after his family paid a ransom running into millions of naira, The Punch reports.

The police had said in a statement last week that,

“The former CDS suffered gunshot injury which resulted to his death, while his driver was injured and Badeh’s friend abducted.”

It was learnt that authorities are working on the theory that Badeh’s murder may have been an abduction gone wrong as the friend was released after a ransom was paid.

It was further learnt that there had been two of such incidents along the Keffi-Abuja Expressway before Badeh’s murder in the last one month.

However, sources within the Nigerian Air Force revealed that there would be a joint briefing with the police and the air force immediately after the Christmas break.

“While investigations were on, the family of Badeh’s friend paid a ransom to ensure his release. However, we have continued with the investigation and we have made progress. We will inform members of the public after the Christmas break,” an air force officer said.

The four-star general was killed on the evening of December 18, 2018, while returning from his farm.

His Tundra Toyota truck was riddled with bullets piercing the windscreen and killing him instantly.

Out of the three occupants of the vehicle, however, Badeh was the only one that was killed thereby fueling speculations that he was assassinated.

A Taiwanese delivery man crashed his Mitsubishi cargo van into four parked Ferraris earlier this week, causing over $300,000 worth of damage.

The driver allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel of his work vehicle due to exhaustion when he crashed into the Prancing Horses.

The 20-year-old driver was making deliveries at 5:00 am in the morning when he drifted into a deep sleep around 5:40 am, according to the Taiwan News.

Every single one of the cars, three different Ferrari 488s and one F12, were heavily damaged and had to be transported away from the crash scene by a flatbed truck.

Allegedly, the driver was on his way to his mother’s shop when he hit the cars at approximately 25 miles per hour.

According to the report, one of the 488s has approximately $130,000 worth of damages, the other 488 a little over $97,300, and the white, V-12-powered F12 approximately $162,300 in repair estimates.


Most of the damages appear to be cosmetic (although the damage wasn’t exactly minor), with the van pushing the cars into each other and sideswiping them.

However, it could've been worse. Had the driver managed to total the Ferraris, he would've been on the hook for over 1.6 million, according to the Taiwan News.

There’s no damage estimate on the delivery van, but it does have the most damage and may possibly be inoperable after hitting the four supercars.

It is however reported that members of the public in Taiwan are already making plans to make donations towards the repair of the expensive cars.

Gospel artiste, Tamela Mann and her husband David Mann are set to release an album which Christian couples can listen to during sex.

The album titled Us Against The World is for for believers who want to enjoy intimacy without tasteless lyrics.

“It was different for me, it was really different, even though I was happy to think about the man that I love [while singing],” Tamela told The Christian Post.

“It made me even look at him differently, and in all honesty, we tested it out and it really worked.”

“Even though you knew we were talking about love, it wasn’t nasty love music,” Tamela explained. It’s making baby music,” David interjected about the album.

“It’s about music to make love, not to have sex”.

“This album was one that we wanted to give to our people because when you’re having those intimate moments, you know we listening to something.”

The album is produced by the couple and their son, David Mann, Jr who all say they are so happy to be able to provide a project like this for the body of Christ.

Wife of the former president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, Grace Mugabe wanted in South Africa for assaulting a model in the country.

It was revealed on Wednesday that the National Prosecuting Authority of South Africa had issued an arrest warrant against Mrs. Mugabe for allegedly assaulting a model, Gabriella Engels at a hotel in Johannesburg in 2017.

Minority rights group AfriForum announced this during a press conference, reports Timeslive.

“We can report that the warrant of arrest has been issued for Grace Mugabe,” said AfriForum CEO Kallie Kriel.

“It seems that justice is going to take place and we are looking forward to this matter going forward.”

Mrs. Mugabe allegedly assaulted Engels after she found the model partying with her two sons at a Sandton hotel.

The South African government had in August accepted a court ruling declaring the diplomatic immunity granted to Mrs. Mugabe as invalid. The matter was then referred back to the NPA.
