A Nigerian entertainer, MC Chikaraw has called out SARS operatives in Delta State over an alleged brutality.

The MC, while making his grievances known on social media, wrote that he was on his way to anchor an occasion when he was approached by the SARS operatives in Delta, who requested that he opened his phone for them to check.

His refusal however led to the alleged brutality.

He posted photos of the injuries received during the torture on his social media page.

Dear SARS,
You have no right to check my phone… And this is what they did to me… If not that I don’t want to disappoint my wedding clients today,i would have followed them to the station instead of brutalising me and collecting my money…

Our country is so lawless that they can even shoot me and lay allegations on me… This have gotten to a frightening proportion.. The people that was recruited to protect us are now killing us!” he wrote on Instagram

The Director General, National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Olusegun Runsewe, has commended Mr Mohammed Bello, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, for the timely raid on strippers clubs in Abuja.

In a statement issued by the council, Runsewe said raiding strippers clubs in Abuja is a step in the right direction

“The rise of this ugly and negative recreational clubs negated every strand of Nigerian culture”.

“What the FCT minister and his officials have done is not only commendable but also a proactive measure to track down the influencers and marketers of this sodomic expressions, thereby protecting our culture from foreign pollution,”

“Nigeria’s homegrown culture must not be overshadowed by this message from the messengers of darkness,” he said.

Runsewe said that the future of Nigeria rests in her young persons who must be protected and discouraged from accepting and practicing certain cultures, NAN reports.

Nigerian rapper Ruggedman has cautioned singer Nairamarley against misleading the people on his stance on internet fraud - You can do Yahoo, but don't mislead the young ones - He said to him.

If you recollect, some few days back, the singer had tried to justify internet fraud by comparing it to slavery. He stated that if Africans are aware of what the ancestors suffered during the slave trade era, then they would realise yahoo is fair.

Ruggedman, however did not agree with that and asked the artiste to thread carefully:

A Nigerian big boy has been embarrassed by a sex worker over non-payment of the agreed fee of N5000 for an all-night service she rendered to him.

In a video posted on social media, the duo could be seen in a scuffle and the lady complaining on the Nigerian big boy reneging on the agreement they had.

His action was however condemned by most social media users who tagged him a thief for not wanting to pay for the an item he bought.

Sri Lanka Easter bombings: At least 156 people were killed and hundreds more were injured in simultaneous attacks on several churches and hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, officials said.

Three of the explosions took place in Catholic churches while three other explosions were reported in luxury hotels - the Cinnamon Grand, Kingsbury and Shangri-La - located in the heart of Colombo.

The first explosion was reported in a church located in the capital.

The other blasts followed within half an hour.Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe called the blasts “cowardly” and said the government was working to “contain the situation.”

“I call upon all Sri Lankans during this tragic time to remain united and strong,” he wrote in a tweet.

Local security officials said at least two of the attacks appeared to have been carried out by suicide bombers.

The sites were all heavily frequented by tourists, and at least nine foreign nationals were killed in the explosions, police told AFP. A hospital source said Americans, British and Dutch citizens were among the dead.

Police spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekera said the injured were being evacuated while security forces have cordoned off the areas and search operations are under way.

Photos circulating on social media showed the roof of one church had been blown almost entirely off in the blast.

The floor was littered with a mixture of roof tiles, splintered wood and blood.

Several people could be seen covered in blood, some trying to help those with more serious injuries.

Reports said at least 35 foreigners are among the dead.

There were no immediate claims of responsibility.

In a wedding party or public gathering, robbers now meet the MC to make an announcement of a particular car, with registration number so so and so, blocking them. While you go out to move your car, some guys are waiting outside for you with a gun.

They know you have the keys of your car. You are then ordered to ride the car out of the compound with them inside already with you. Please, Do the following when your vehicle registration number is being called out at a social function or public gathering for your own safety:

1) Take your time before going out, don’t let anyone rush you.

2) Don’t go out alone, at least in company of two or more people, call your friends to go with you.

(3) Don’t go directly to where the car is parked, at least to confirm from a distance if you are blocking another car truly. Make sure there is a driver in the blocked car already before you go. Walk around as if you don’t know where your car is, check those around your car.

4) Watch your surroundings carefully before approaching the vehicle. When you’re sure that the environment is okay, remove your car and park properly. May God continue to keep and protect us from these criminals.

Popular news anchor Cyril Stober retires from The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), The Veteran broadcaster was earlier reported to have retired from service in 2015, but was later seen anchoring programmes on the government-owned TV after the announcement of his retirement.

Although there has not been an official announcement from the Network service on his retirement, but reports gathered on social media indicate that Cyril has finally retired.

In 2018, he wedded another broadcaster with the NTA, Elizabeth Banu.

The two broadcasters were famed for casting the Network News and anchoring the programme, Tuesday live also on the NTA network.

The students of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) have constructed and a N5 million car park on the campus which they named after President Muhammadu Buhari.

The project, which was recently commissioned was part of activities in commemoration of the University Founder’s Day and 30th Anniversary, the Nation reports.

Its completion was spearheaded by the recently dissolved FUNAAB Students’ Union Government (SUG) executive led by Ayobami Popoola.

According to the SUG president, the car park would be known as President Muhammadu Buhari Car Park/Bus Stop or PMB Square for short.

Also, two shed stands were named after the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Kolawole Salako and a former student leader, Late Rt. Hon Oluwafisayomi Adelaja.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the event, Popoola expressed his happiness over the completion of the project adding that it is a dream come true.

“This is going to be a welcome development because we have just been able to salvage one of the problems affecting the university, which is a key factor to the growth of the university.

“What we have just done is, one of its kind which is a landmark in the history of students’ unionism and we have not had any regret for embarking on this project.”

Ozubulu massacre: The two remaining suspects that were fingered in the killing of worshipers in a church in Ozubulu, Anambra state, have been discharged and acquitted by a High Court sitting in Awka, the state capital.

In a ruling that lasted for over three hours, Justice Fidelis Aniukwu ruled that the prosecution counsel was unable to prove beyond reasonable doubt the allegations leveled against the defendants, Chinedu Akpunonu and Onyebuchi Mbanefo, the Nation reports.

On August 6, 2017, unknown gunmen invaded St Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu in Ekwusigo local government area of the state and killed no fewer than thirteen persons.

The Judge had in December 2018 discharged two out of the four persons arraigned before a high court in November 2017 following the church attack.Justice Aniukwu argued that the prosecution witnesses could not provide any evidence linking the defendants with the murder as alleged.

In their narration, they termed themselves as the miraculous Nigerian triplets because their parents were actually expecting top give birth to twins, but the trio came unexpected.

So according to my mum,when she was pregnant she was expecting just one child,just a child.But later on,she started getting bigger than usual then she got worried and decided to go to the hospital for a scan but it kept on showing that she was pregnant with just a child.

She would go to the hospital twice almost every week because she was so concerned about the size of the pregnancy since she was having just a child.

So About five months later(Ikr,that’s a long time)she went back to the hospital and they finally told her she was pregnant with twins,she was so surprised and at the same time relieved that the babies were fine.
So,she started buying two pairs of everything,same shoes,same clothes and all.

Then when she was due which was eight month three days(multiple births don’t actually stay till the usual nine months,most of them)she went to the hospital and then the doctor told her she was going to deliver her babies(twins)through cs.

After some hours they finally got the twins out(Tomisin and Tomiwa)but according to my mum when the doctor was about closing up they noticed a movement and they were concerned,thinking something went wrong they had to undo the stitches,and then it turned out that they found another baby(Toni)

A Nigerian businessman identified as Mr Ademola, who is the CEO of Mosun Homes, has sent words to the father of a follower who called him a scammer.

The Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammad Abubakar Adamu, has said the Nigeria Police Force will employ technology to replace use of weapons in the fight against extra-judicial killing across the country.

The police IG who is in Lagos following the recent extra-judicial killings in the state, made this known while addressing police officers and the press at the Police College, Ikeja, Legit.ng reports.

While condoling with the families of the bereaved, the police boss stated that the wrong use of weapons will no longer be tolerated in the state.


In his address, he explained that series of training will be done across the country, especially with the handling of weapons and how to address the citizens.

Some officers of the Nigerian Police Force, have been accused of allegedly planting weed in a passenger's bag in Anambra State.

In a report posted on social media by popular activist Segalink, the victim was on his way to catch a flight when the cab he was traveling in was stopped by the officers.

After a thorough search and finding nothing on the passenger, they later accused him of keeping weed in his luggage, after which they took him to an ATM point and forced him at gun point to withdraw N150,000.

He wrote:

I was just informed about a citizen running late to catch a flight in the SEast, Only for him to be stopped by @PoliceNG in Awka. They demanded for a search & found nothing. He was even in a cab. While they searched he was trusting enough to focus on his phone & flight update.Then they bellowed at him to follow them that they have miraculously found weed in his luggage.

This by the way is a church guy whose innocence can make a bee repent from ever stinging a soul.

Yet Police saw him as a prey & dragged him not to their station but to the ATM machine.He was forced at gun point to withdraw N150,000 from his account as settlement for the evidence planted by rogue policemen.

This will be escalated and the culprits will be found based on the evidence available. They’ve preyed on the wrong guy. Let the purge begin.He is currently too shocked to believe this happened to him in his own country.

A man has taken to social media to post on how his camera captured a strange woman touching a bride on wedding day.

According to the man, the wedding ceremony was held in Saudi Arabia and it was his brother's wedding.

The strange woman whom he claimed was not in good terms with the family moved closer to the bride and rubbed her hand on her stomach in a suspicious way.Unknown to the stranger, the incident was being captured on camera.

The man then used the medium to ask people to be vigilant on their wedding days and watch the movement of the people around them.

In the on-going war between businessman Ayo Animashaun, owner of Hip TV, and Nigerian financial institution, Heritage Bank Plc, details have now emerged that the bank allegedly seized properties belonging to the business man.

According to a document sighted by Lailasnews.com, the bank had on the 30th March 2019 taken over some properties belonging to Smooth Productions and and then appointed one Mr Gani-Gigado Abubakar, a solicitor and insolvency practitioner, as a manager/receiver of the company.

Smooth Productions belonging to Mr Animashaun, according to the document, could have been seized from the businessman over an alleged indebtedness to the ban.

Animashaun had earlier today released a statement on an alleged breach of contract on the side of the bank and then he also wrote that he had filed a suit against the bank at a Federal High Court.

Smooth Promotions is asking the court to reverse over N185 million in alleged interest rates over and above the agreed interest rate and other entries inputted into its account as at February 2017.These charges were revealed by an independent audit of the company’s accounts stretching back to 2013.

According to the court papers, the company says it lost in excess of N533,927,562 owing to the failure and refusal of Heritage Bank to insure its property against risk like fire, and or provide information to Smooth Promotions as to insurance on its property following a fire incident on November 6, 2017, despite debiting Smooth Promotions for the insurance premium.

The case, filed by Kemi Pinheiro LP, alleges that Heritage Bank fraudulently deducted insurance premium from Smooth Promotions’ account without remitting the money to the insurance company; charged interests that were not agreed; and a forensic audit found that almost N200 million worth of charges were not correct, Theyesng.com reports.

Smooth Promotions’ Executive Director, Adeseun Kolawole-Oyeneye says the company will pursue all available legal means to seek redress.

A South African woman pregnant with twins just a year after losing her twin babies, have taken to social media to make announcement on the good news.

The woman identified as Mpho Gagane lost her twins in April 2018 and she lost hope of ever conceiving again. But in what she termed as a miracle and God's better plans for her, she is now pregnant once again and this time, with twin babies.

An Nigeria Customs officer killed by bees while on patrol duty yesterday in Badagry, Lagos, has been buried according to Islamic rites.

The officer identified as Abba Abubakar, operating at the Seme customs command, along Ashipa axis of Badagry, Lagos, met his untimely death Tuesday after he was stung by the bees, the agency said in a statement.

“With sadness and deep sorrow, the Seme Area Command announces the death of our colleague CSC Abba, A.,” Saidu Abdullahi, the spokesperson of the Seme customs command, said in the statement on Wednesday.

“The sad event occurred yesterday due to an attack by a swarm of bees around Ashipa axis, Lagos- Badagry Express way.

“We pray that Allah (SWT) shower His mercy and grant him the highest level of Jannah, and give his family the patience and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Aameen.”

Mr Abdullahi described the deceased as an astute officer who discharged his duties diligently.

“He has never failed to report at his duty post daily. We regret to lose such a gallant officers,” Mr Abdullahi said.

The Yobe State-born officer was survived by his wife and children.

Omar al-Bashir steps down - Sudanese president Omar al-Bashir has reportedly stepped down after months of protests, government sources reveal.

A military council is expected to replace him.

On Thursday, anti-government protesters marched through the streets of Khartoum chanting anti-Bashir slogans.

Protesters outside the defence ministry chanted:

"It has fallen, we won."

Sudan has been rocked by months of anti-government protests. Bashir would be the second leader in Africa to quit amid nationwide protests this month, following Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika's resignation, reports Bloomberg.

Earlier Thursday there were reports of military vehicles surrounding the presidential palace as well as the TV building.

Officers of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested three members of child-stealing syndicate in Ogun, who specialize in stealing children from unsuspecting parents.

The suspects are Kate Njoku, Joy Okorie  and Onyeka Joseph (male).

Temidayo Ajayi, one of the children recovered from the suspects was abducted with his brother in Sagamu July 2018.

He has since been reunited with his parents while efforts are on to recover his brother from the gang.

Members of the syndicate were found to have succeeded in stealing eight children from different locations across Ogun State and sold them to their prospective buyers in Anambra State.

The syndicate’s mode of operation entails using two of their members to disguise as couple looking for an apartment to rent, most especially in a place where the target children reside.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who made these known in a statement on Wednesday, said the manhunt launched for members of the syndicate led to the arrest of the three.

A Nigerian man, Seun Sanni, in a post he just made on his Facebook profile, has said the world would have been a better place to be if only man was created as an animal.

In his opinion, he believes that the majority of the problems human face in the world are caused by them and not by Satan. But it is quite unfortunate every evil thing is blamed on Satan.

He wrote:
GOAT IS BETTER THAN HUMAN CREATED BY GOD

What concern cow, goat or other animals in general about knowing God? Human are concern in knowing God because God created man in his image.

If human were created as animal the world would have been peaceful to the animals in it.

Before human was created God has no problem whatsoever with the animals he created before human.

Human are here and there seeking knowledge about God their creator and also sorting for his wrong doing.

It brought tears out of my eyes when wisdom revealed to me that Satan is not God's problem, human whom God created in his own image are God's problem.

Why?

You made your creator regret creating you. You turn the same man who created beautiful universe out of nothing to an useless inventor with thy word.

You made God regret creating human in the first instance.

I have never seen animal question God but human who are made in the image of God questioned him.

Jesus tried to call us sheep to huble us to God but we refused, we said we are not sheep, we called ourselves lion in zion.

What a pity?

Former Aviation Minister Fani-Kayode, while reacting to the recent killing in Zamfara State, has said Nigeria needs deliverance from demons of Hell.

Lamenting over the spate of killings in the country, Fani-Kayode said Nigeria is preserved by the shedding of blood which needs to be stopped immediately

“Nigeria is a nation that was born through the shedding of blood, that is steeped in the shedding of blood, that is sustained by the shedding of blood and that is preserved by the shedding of blood. We are a nation that is in dire need of deliverance from the demons of hell.” he tweeted.

Some hoodlums have reportedly stormed the premises of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in Osun State and poisoned the school dam over land dispute.

Sources in the university told The Punch on Friday that some indigenes, who claimed their land was taken for the university when it was established in 1962, had been selling some portions of the land.

The sources said the aggrieved indigenes were challenged by the university and stopped from further trespassing.But the issue was said to have taken another dimension, when some of the aggrieved land owners allegedly invaded the university from the Parakin area and headed for the Opa Dam, which is the only source of water to the university community.

Before the university security operatives could challenge them, the armed hoodlums were said to have poured poisonous chemicals in the dam which killed all the fishes and aquatic animals there.

A worker at the university, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said their action would have caused a disaster in the university if the officials had pumped the water to hostels and staff quarter that day.

It was earlier reported that a University of Ibadan, UI ex-lecturer committed suicide be setting himself on fire.

The authorities of the University however, on Saturday, set up a panel to unravel the circumstances leading to the death of its former employee, Mr A. O. Subair.

According to reports, Subair, who was a lecturer II in the Department of Mathematics of the university, reportedly set his residence ablaze in the senior staff quarters on Phillipson Road, leading to his death.

Speaking with SUNDAY PUNCH, the Director of Public Communication, UI, Mr Olatunji Oladejo, said,

“The deceased lecturer resigned in 2011. As of the time of his death on Tuesday, he was no longer an employee of the institution.

“He was still living at the Flat 4, Phillipson Road of the university on compassionate ground. For now, it is unethical to say he committed suicide. We are yet to get the report of the preliminary investigation on his death.

“There was a fire incident in the apartment but the fire did not get to where he was sleeping. Maybe he suffocated in the process because there was no trace or signs that he was burnt in any part of his body.

“The firefighters who were alerted worked to put out the fire and later discovered a man lying lifeless on a bed within the apartment. They moved him to Jaja Clinic but he was brought in dead, according to the doctor’s report. He did not commit suicide as being insinuated.”

A Nigerian man Eric Doncleaono, has taken to Facebook to allege that his brother, Chidiebere, allegedly strangled their father, Christopher Onoh, for refusing to sell his land to sponsor him abroad.

The incident was said to have happened on January 31, 2019, in Ukaka Ngo, Enugu State, and the suspect, who is said to be a notorious cultist, has being on the run since.

The two shared the money among themselves and the wife left her matrimonial home to live at Egede for ichaka business while the son moved to an unknown place. After they squandered the money, both came back and insist that Christopher must sell the land to send him abroad which he declined. Chidiebere and his friend Sir king conspired and kill Christopher with dog chain.
