There is no empty threat by the ND militants, the attack on Lekki peaceful protest by govt resurrected the anger from the ND militant. Besight, some Nigerians call ND militants for backup to ensure the fight is for all for one. Maybe some of us , didn't watch the video staging their presence in Rivers State, following sudden appearance of Tompolo. They roam the streets in their usual expecting the so-called govt soldiers to surface, calming down the residents not to run.
Unfortunately, the ND militants is available for the SS to defend injustice in a combat, but other regions are left loose to intimidation in the face of injustice.
Let us imagine the situation, ND militants from the South, Boko Haram from the North and other regional militias face the Central Govt Army, that's the end.
Imagine, what happened in Mali recently? |

omenka: Really funny.
Nigerians have blown an opportunity that might take over a decade to present itself again. We should have cashed out when the fruits were ripe, but we allowed them to rot away on the trees.
This whole thing should have been suspended when SagaLink and Aisha called for it's suspension, but people with ulterior motives rejected such, saying neither Aisha or Saga had the right to call off the protests. Calling it off and sitting on a round table with government representatives was meant to be the next reasonable step to take, but that was never to be.
Tell me now, is there any chance of the government inviting people to a round table for any discussion or negotiation? Make very strong demands with a threat to taking back to the streets if theyre not met. I know there's a cardinal rule in life that says "it is best to negotiate from a position of strength". Now, does the protest still have the strength and credibility it had a week ago? Would people still take to the streets if protests are called today?
Now, the goodwill the people had for the protest has been lost, so much so that SagaLink and Aisha Yosufu are throwing subtle shades at each other.
So saddening. I support your point of view on the fact that the protesters denied themselves to have a leader creates a gap that could have yield better result. However, that will be a lesson learnt from that historical events. The positive effect is that their refusal further exposed the government has no respect for its citizen, there is a conspiracy between govt and political actors and agents to continue oppression and enslaving the masses... We won't have witness that Covid19 Relief Materials are been stock in each state..Why? We won't have witness the kind of riots in Lagos. Where peaceful protest will be ignored, riots became inevitable. The shield between the people and govt are the security agencies. Hence, the people had no choice to engage them in their stupidity. |

AlagbaGaabu: PRESS RELEASE
NO COVID-19 PALLIATIVES LEFT IN EKITI STATE, NO PALLIATIVES WAREHOUSE
The attention of the Government of Ekiti State has been drawn to plans by some hoodlums to storm some warehouses in the state under the guise of looking for Covid-19 palliatives believed to be stored in warehouses in the state.
The Government would like to state categorically that ALL palliatives donated to the state have been successfully distributed to various categories of residents including 16 Local Government areas in the State (collected by LG teams), Senior Citizens, Market Women, Various associations (Unions, women’s groups, artisans, etc),Youth groups, NGOs, Widows, Churches, Mosques, Landlord Associations, Community Leaders, Traditional Rulers, Transport Unions, State orphanages and special schools, Communities in Farmsteads, Security Officers and other vulnerable persons during the lockdown period.
These facts can be verified from all the beneficiary groups listed.
We therefore caution those involved in the plan to desist from any attempt to invade any location under the guise of looking for COVID-19 palliatives in Ekiti State.
Government has a responsibility to protect citizens’ lives and property and will not condone any brigandage in any part of the state.
Signed: Mr Akinbowale Omole Honourable Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation The govt of Ekiti State might just make false claims that the Covid-19 Relief materials has been fully distributed...that can't be the case if Oyo and Osun and Lagos still have their own stock in a Warehouse in which they have been exposed. |

ehinmowo: If you are a student of conflict and peace resolution, you will understand that conflict is as good as peace itself. Conflict is forerunner of peace.
For true peace to exist, each party must understand that actions have consequences. The very knowledge that a people will accept whatever you throw at the breeds injustice and disdain. Sometimes for a thing to truly get better, it has to be destroyed first. Life itself comes from death. A seed will not germinate unless it first die.
Perhaps after this both government and citizens will respect each other's rights and privileges. Police would think twice b4 shooting a young man in a car. While we are trying to salvage the country, government MUST learn to respect her citizens and should not feel like demigod because they have guns. You cannot impoverish peoples and expect them to clap for u. Citizens should also learn to obey law and order. Some Citizens has been obedient but the government continue to oppressed even the obedient ones, hence the results is what has transcend beyond a peaceful demand denial. |
