I have been waiting over 11weeks for my SWV/ Healthcare worker visa. I have missed my work start date( August 2nd,2023). Documents submitted for my application(MA): Passport, Nigerian PCC, Canadian PCC, POF Application submitted: May 24th 2023. Biometrics: 12th June 2023. NSF email: 22nd June 2023 ( No request for additional document for me and my kids, my husband was asked to submit PCC even though I submitted PCC for his application , I uploaded the old PCC and got new PCC and re-uploaded). Several paid emails and calls, escalated my case, sent a complaint email. All I get is ‘Application is under consideration’. I waited for a long time, I guess they forgot about my application. Spoke with my employer to look into why there is a delay in my application. Employer got back to me saying UKVI requested for additional documents from me on 22nd June 2023 but I didn’t get any additional documents request from UKVI(checked all my folders). It seemed UKVI forgot to send me additional documents request Additional document request July 25th,2023: PCC from all the countries I have lived. I really don’t understand why I should send PCC again( Was it because it wasn’t clear, they didn’t get the one I initially submitted or they weren’t satisfied with it?), I sent a message to the work sponsored email about my confusion. July 26th, 2023-I got an email that they needed another Canadian PCC with fingerprint search from RCMP, the one I sent was name and DOB search only. It took me 15 days to get the new Canadian RCMP PCC for my spouse & I. The annoying thing was that my colleagues who submitted the PCC that I initially submitted all have gotten their visa and are working now. I also sent another Nigerian PCC for myself and spouse( because I don’t want to hear anymore stories). August 11th, 2023 - Sent additional documents PCC. Second Escalation- August 18th 2023. August 30th 2023- Sheffield escalation email: I can see a decision has been made and your Visa Application Centre (VAC) was notified to release the passport. UPDATE: I got an email 1st September, 2023 from no reply.UKVISABRP that my application is successful. I am still waiting for our Passport. The stress and torture of waiting for visa approval is not worth it, If I could see the future I would have paid for superpriority visa. I guess UKVI put a price tag on one’s mental health- It is 500£ or 800£ depending on how fast you want your visa.

I have gotten in touch with my employer about the delay, the NSF email for MA was empty but my spouse was asked to provide PCC. I was waiting for my spouse who wasn’t available to do biometrics that’s why there was a big gap between application and biometrics. I spoke to over 8 of my colleagues who applied for HCW visa n they all got it in less than 3 weeks, so I thought it will be the same with mine

Who have recently escalated their skilled worker visa (Health care visa) and how long did you get your visa after escalation?. My timeline. Application submitted-May 24th, 2023 , Bio- July 12th, 2023, NSF email for MA and dependents- July 22nd , 2023, additional info needed from spouse (PCC)- which was submitted in the application initially but we uploaded it again that same day. Since then no more information from UKVI. So many paid emails which says my application is under consideration n awaiting a decision. I asked for escalation 04/07/2023, got escalation confirmation via email from Sheffield work 06/07/2023- to wait for another 15WD. My work is starting August 2nd 2023.

Because of the pandemic IRCC made an exception for people with visitors visa, if u can get employment while on visitors visa, you can apply for work permit. You can read up more in it IRCC website. For ur second question, if there is a change in ur address, u shd inform IRCC. I don’t know if that will hasten ur PPR

My parents PPR has landed. Mom and Dad 1st application-Gckey - February 25th, 2021 ( still processing). 2nd application ( IRCC portal)- November 5th, 2021. BVL- December 8th, 2021. PPR- December 8th, 2021. Please can someone give me information on how to submit passport at the visa application centre

Visitor visa does not require Medicals but super visa ( visit greater than 6 months) requires Medicals.

SHORT Landing gist

Left Lagos via Ethopian airline 1:45pm October 10th, with my spouse and my 1year 8month old baby. It was a beautiful journey, the only thing I can say about Ethiopian airline is that their customer service was great, and they just keep loading us with variety of foods,snacks and drinks at regular intervals. The in flight entertaiment was superb, i watched movies, listened to music and played games. We were supposed to have 2 seats because my baby is not up to 2years, but they made sure we had 3seats and that we were very comfortable. I guess they had enough spare seats on the plane. Landed in Toronto 8am, I was asked some few questions and how much I brought to Canada. I was through with the immigration process within 2hours and have gotten my social insurance number(SIN). Am waiting for my 2pm flight to Calgary.

So we boarded air Canada from Toronto to Calgary, landed 4pm(Calgary time), went to collect our luggages in a section of airport. There we saw some group of Nigerians welcoming Pst Tunde Bakare and snapping his pictures, (apparently we boarded the same flight with him). After gathering our luggage we started wondering were to exchange our Usd for cad so that we can take a taxi to our airbnb apartment. I just told my spouse let's approach our Nigerians brothers, which we did. They welcomed us , showed my spouse where he can exchange USD for cad, and they offered to take us to our apartment. So we were so lucky. My airbnb apartment is great, the host is so nice. Calgary is so beautiful

According to tracker, my passport has been dispatched from Accra to VFS since 20th June but no PUM yet from VFS, does it take this long to get PUM?

In fact, this seems to be one of the longest wait for passport return since May 22nd submission and to imagine that AOR to PPR took just 35 days makes it surprising.
