The Akeredolu Campaign Organisation (ACO) has described the statement by Governor Olusegun Mimiko at the Governorship debate in Akure that June 12 and the Late M.K.O Abiola who is the symbol of the democratic struggle in which Mimiko is a major beneficiary, is irrelevant in the south west integration not only as unfortunate but a clear demonstration that he is insensitive to the aspiration of the Yoruba nation. Even at the height of the Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s administration in Ogun state inspite of being in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) he still declared June 12 as a public holiday.

For us at ACO, this further confirms that Mimiko is not interested in working with other governors in the south west who have become the icons of sustainable development in Africa. Apart from this, all the members of Labour Party (LP) in the National Assembly have always opposed all the progressive moves by the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) legislators against the Yoruba agenda. As a matter of fact during the fuel subsidy struggle when the whole of the South west in unison opposed it, the Labour Party legislators and Mimiko government supported the anti-people policy. He, Mimiko has always been against the Yoruba people as his antecedent shows that he was the governorship Candidate of the United National Congress Party(UNCP) which was one of the five parties that Late Bola Ige described as the five fingers of a leprous hand; During the democratic struggle where was Mimiko when Pa Alfred Rewane was killed, when Pa Abraham Adesanya was shot at and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other notable sons of Yoruba land were chased into exile by the demonic Abacha regime.

Will the Ondo State people follow a man who could not acknowledge the supreme sacrifice of a distinguished son of Yoruba land? Will the Ondo State people follow a man who is more committed to the reactionary forces in Nigeria at the expense of the progressive? Indeed, the Ondo State people have decided to join their kilt and kin in the South west and would definitely vote for ACN on October 20.

ebere1712: Chukwu damage you already damaged spine for telling me to seek alliance with yoroslaves. The same mistake my fathers made thinking yoroslaves are human. Ojukwu released Awolowo, the chief of your slave race (incacerated huh). The other slaves that he safely sent home from the east (including adekunle your hero), turned around and bit the finger that freed them. Yoroslaves have never had any relevance in anything, why would I seek relevance in the irrelevant. Nigeria doesn't even have any relevance in the world today. A nation filled to the brim with imbeciles. I can't believe you think you have anything to be proud of. Look around you, your country is a big dump. Run down by the same heroes that fought Biafrans. Your military depends on import, to the very last pin. And you are not ashamed. I don't want relevance in Nigeria, I want to dissociate myself and the pride of my fathers; from the dump you call a nation. Again Amadioha damage the mouth with which you requested I seek relevance with yoroslaves.
With this level of bitterness, you soon might be diagnosed of cancer !

No form of denial will change the facts, i feel your pain, it is not easy changing what the revisionists had fed you with all your lifetime, BUT, game over, time to fashion out new strategies for a greater ibo or BIAFRA(whichever calms your nerves). If you and your ilks continue this way, your biafra will be a pipe dream in the next 100 generations.

Great news!

There are at least three types of negative people commenting on this thread

(1) Those who are blind to development, because they always put on a mask of tribal sentiments

(2) Those who are blind to development, because they always put on a mask of party affiliations

(3) Those who are actually IGNORANT, their opinions are someones opinion, and they operate with the herds mentality.

The questions you negative dolts should ask yourselves is:

Was Lagos of 2003 better than that of 1999
? Yes

Was Lagos of 2007 better than that of 2003
? Yes

Was Lagos of 2011 better than that of 2007 ? Yes

Will Lagos of 2015 be better than that of 2011 ? Most likely !!!! YIPEEE!!

Those students rioting are penny wise , pound foolish .

because of N10,000 bursary, Imagine pelting stones at some one who reduced their school fees by 50 %, for all of the students(of whatever state of origin ) it translated to over N30,000 -N150,000 reduction / session.

At least one of this must be wrong
1. They were so fooooolish and lacked critical thinking to look at the big picture

2. They were been used by the opposition elements in the state

N10,000 bursary is even not for all the students, but only few.

Nevertheless, Aregbesola has a part of the blame, why PROMISE those idiiiiots N10k bursary and not fulfill it, Iheir was no need giving out any useless bursary after slashing their tuition .

ebere1712: Awolorat had already stated his intentiton to kill biafran children and confiscate the property of their fathers, and you want Biafra to allow food aid coming through Nigeria; which awolorat would gleefully lace with some of the poison with which he killed himself. What awolorat demanded was that the food pass through him first, so he can lace them with poison. Nigeria threatened to attack relief agencies if they went in by themselves. Yoroslaves, I am tired of educating re.tards. Just for the sake of foreigners in this forum. Nigeria has no food to feed itself, and still doesn't have food to feed itself, disregard any yoroslave or ret.arded Nigerian trying to claim that they offered aid. Aid was offered by missionaries, after the pink brits and cow fuc.king egyptians and russian apes and their devil friends aerially bombarded biafran markets and farmlands. It is a war and although we didn't expect attacks targeted on civilians (we thought it was a sane world after all the treaties signed in UN), we still are not blaming anybody for that. We take responsibility for our war and we have reiterated that we would fight even a more bloody battle if them devils rare up their ugly heads again. This time everybody would feel the pain and CHUKWU must reign supreme. Yoroslaves want everybody to share their stupidy with them, like a national madness sort of thing. Identify with your devils, don't try to make it look like "everybody was like that; lets move on". Awolorat was your leader, embrace him, with his goods and ills. Don't try to cover up his wrongs undecided

Till when will you stop living in denial ?

Till when will you realise your supposed role model was a rotten model ?

Till when will you accept the fault and the loss?

Till when will you realise that your tribe will not achieve the much needed political strength and relevance in Nigeria, except they seek for a friend and ally in the Yorubas?

PoliticsLabour Party Stalwart Caught With Thumb Printed Ballot Papers In ONDO State by emiye(op): 3:02am On Oct 08, 2012
Less than two weeks to the Ondo governorship election, a school proprietor, a former Labour Party local council vice chairman who is a prominent member of the LP in Ondo kingdom was on Saturday afternoon caught with ballot papers and other election materials in Ondo West Local Government.

Eagle eye members of the public tipped off the police and facilitated the arrest while the police shortly afterwards moved the suspect to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Akure.

Opposition parties, both th PDP and ACN have repeatedly called the attention of the police and the Independent National Electoral Commission to clandestine moves by the Mimiko led Labour Party to rig the forthcoming October election. Until this latest arrest, their allegations could not be substantiated.

The Labour Party has reacted by disowning the man.

According to Olabisi Kolawole, a journalist turned politician, he said the man that the public tipped the police off about that was arrested in Ondo town is not a genuine member of the Labour Party

His very words “He is a fake man out on a sinister mission”

Meanwhile, a week ago some members of the Labour Party were caught in Ondo town mopping up voting cards from members of the position by luring them with cash. Some gullible ACN members sold their voter’s cards to the hoodlums.

Ondo State is the richest south west state after Lagos state, i think the much issue, pe mimiko is the value he has provided with what he was given.

Comparing Osun to ondo is not very fair . Osun state with the same population, if not more gets less than 40% of Ondo states allocation,

It will also not be fair comparing Ondo state to Lagos.

It is important the voters have better information in making decisions.

Objectively, I think Mimiko's performance is lack lustre, but he is a wise man, he has learnt to concentrate his performance on certain areas with all vigor, with absolute neglect to many others. (pareto principle).

he will most likely win, Ondo state voters are not as enlightened in making highly informed decisions.

And was it Tinubu that created the jobs in Lagos? If the other states were serious especially N.Delta states many investors would have left Lagos. The jobs created by Tinubu are LASTMA, LAWMA, KAI etc. Even Marwa built MARWA MARWA gardens in less that 3 years. While I will concede that Tinubu was about the best in his class of Governors it doesn't mean he performed well given the resources at his disposal and I guess Fashola's first 3 years proved that not forgetting that Fashola's period coincided with the great RECESSION. LEKKI-EPE way has been on since 2006, not even 60% complete even with the low quality, TEJUOSHO market is still under construction.
Fashola era was when all the seized Lagos State allocation of close to 2 years was released , he had so much to spend than his predecessor Tinubu. Please take note. Additionally the incoming Yaradua administration paid for some federal govt roads that were constructed by tinubu. that accounted largely for the "huge construction site", Lagos was turned in to when Fashola took over.

Tinubu was a master strategist, the BRT was Tinubus idea, the millennium schools, the PSP in waste management and many other laudable initiatives, the first power plant was conceived by him as at 2000,and constructed as at 2001, but the FG led by Obasanjo did not want him to shine, and played lots of politics to undermine his performance in several ways in the name of capturing Lagos by do or die

Elueme: Pls just remove Oshomohle from your list. You are day dreaming if you think Oshomohle believes and aligns with Tinubu's political ideology. You people should have known that by now. The man is a movement and he's only affiliating himself with ACN because it is convinient now. ACN didn't make Oshomohle rather Oshomohle has brought so much good will to ACN . If he chooses to cross carpet to PPA , we will follow him.
For records, Oshiomole decamped from labour party in 2007 to join ACN party. All the distinguished and well bred indivduals allegedly imposed who are now governors has brought good will to the ACN party e.g Fashola (he wouldn;t have won the primaries), Fayemi (recently awarded the Governor of the year 2011, and congratulated recently by his cooleagues at the governors forum), Amosun, Ajimobi and Aregbesola and lastly Oshiomole.

For those trying to give ACN governors bad name so they can hang them, your time is up.

Johndoe100: So who needs democracy right? Why don't we just forget the elections as a whole? I mean the imposed candidates are so good why waste resources that could be given to "the leader" ?
If truly they imposed those candidates, they have simply imposed it on the " ACN members" at the primaries. ACN members are less than 2% of the populace. The remaining 98% should be left to make a decision amongst the various parties candidates. We don;t have one-party state yet, thank God for parties like ACN, APGA and Labour Party still holding the ground.

Why cry more than the bereaved ACN members, we the neutrals in the majority (at least 90%) are watching.

The sad continuation to Ade's story is that

He has been declared as irresponsible by some people; i asked why ?

(1) Some of Ade's extended family member claimed that In the last few years he has not sent a dime to his ageing grandmother in the village, the grandmother can no longer go to the farm any longer, as such depend on the money sent to her by her 8 children in the town, Ade agreed to have been missing on duty as regards to that.

(2) Danjuma his colleague at work claimed he shouldn;t have allowed his wife to work, and must have fend the family needs singlehandedly

(3) Ade's younger sibling Ola who is currently jobless does not receive a dime from Ade as upkeeps pending the time he gets a job.

Fellow nairalanders do you believe Ade is irresponsible?
PoliticsRe: No Reliable Statistics On Nigeria's Poverty Rate- World Bank by emiye(m): 9:38pm On Oct 05, 2012
After 5 years of leaving school, Ade a 33 years old promising young man was finally able to get a job in a Local government establishment, where he was paid N7,500/month (less than $60 /month), Both kins and friends were happy for him, his days of combing the street of lagos for job has finally ended.

After 6 months of employment, Ade a seemingly responsible young man decided it is time to settle down with his old girlfriend Ngozi. Ade and Ngozi were classmates back in school, a wedding was conducted with over 30 guests in attendance, the marriage rites was sealed in the marriage registry

Ngozi a very prettly lady was 5 months pregnant as at the time of the wedding, she was an expectant mother and a jobless one at that. Ade an expectant father began to nurse the thought, that his wife Ngozi might need to get a job immediately after delivery to augment the family income, he shared his thought with Danjuma a colleague at work and an experienced family man with 2 wives and nine children, Danjuma objected and claimed that to protect his wife from the prying eyes of other men, Ngozi is better off as a full time house wife.

Ngozi delivered a baby boy, an extra mouth has to be fed and very well. Ade and Ngozi agreed that Ngozi might have to get a job, in less than 7 weeks, Ade was able to secure a job for Ngozi as a Sales attendant across the street where she would be paid N4,500 /month ( less than 30 dollars /month).

As the years progressed Ngozi a very fecund and blessed woman added three more kids to the family with the special aid of Ade at each of the three occasion. The nuclear family was now SIX, (a father, mother, and 4 kids).

In the year 2011, just before the general elections, the honorable president DR Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan (PHD, GCFR) of the “I have no shoes fame” declared a new minimum wage of N18,000/month(110 us dollars /month), Ade was going to be a beneficiary, even though he had not been promoted in the last five years he started working in the local government, his joy knew no bounds, he will now earn N18,000/month. I must add the owner of the store where Ngozi works has also increased her salary from N4,500/ month to N6,000 /month some two months ago, a typical example of double blessing. I learnt they shared this testimony where they worshipped. The family will now earn a total income of N24,000 /month (150 us dollars /month)

After several months of agitations and then strike , the local government where Ade works finally paid the new wage.

With a total income of N24,000/month spread within six mouths in Ade’s family. Ade’s family spends roughly N800/day , Averagely each member of the FAMILY LIVE ON N135/day(N800 divided in to six places)

N135 /day is roughly 85 cents or $0.85 USD.

They LIVE ON 85 CENTS /DAY, they are a “happy family” , but they are part of the griming statistics who live on less than $1/ day

Governors Forum Greets Fayemi Over ‘Governor Of The Year Award’

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi on his investiture as “Governor of the Year 2011” by the Leadership Newspaper.

Governor Fayemi, had last Tuesday, in Abuja, received the Leadership’s Governor of the Year Award’ at a ceremony where former Defence Minister, Lt Gen. Theophilus Danjuma and the Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal were also recognized as ‘Person of the Year’ and ‘Politician of the Year’ respectively.

The Governors Forum, in a congratulatory letter dated September 19th and signed by Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, hailed the award, which it said came in recognition of Fayemi’s transformative governance in Ekiti State.

The letter reads in part: “On behalf of all your brother governors in Nigeria Governors Forum, I write to congratulate you on the conferment of the Governor of the Year Award 2011 by Leadership Newspaper Group.

“We rejoice with you and the good people of Ekiti State as you are recognized for bringing compelling imagination and courage to the centre state of transformative governance in Ekiti State.”
